Plain ugly shower without door bumpers
    Mrs C.

Hansons installed a shower in April causing two ceiling leaks in the process. The shower looks nothing like I expected (supposed to look like tile - it does not) and the bumpers on shower doors were broken on installation. The fitter tried to get away with it but we said we wanted new ones and he called Hansons who said we'd get new bumpers asap. It's now July. We still have broken bumpers. Every time we use the shower something else falls off. They do not answer the phone for service calls. I've reported them to BBB. DO NOT do business with Hansons. They take your money and fail to deliver the goods. My issue has already been escalated and it's still not resolved.

Before siding, trim, gutters and shutters 2017

We looked to Hanson again for a siding quote, since having a great experience purchasing all new windows, 10 years ago after we bought our fixer-upper of a house. This time was for siding, gutters with guards, trim, and shutters. The windows are still perfect, no need to change those. We signed for the work in April. Our ability to be flexible with timing saved us a bunch on the bottom line and the work started July 23rd. The siding was supposed to take up to two weeks, however, they were done in a week. My husband was super happy and impressed with the family-crew contracted to do the job. Really nice guys, he said. I never saw them, as we didn't need to be home for them to do the work. It was great! They did all the tear out in one day, worked with us to get a new window in before they started siding that end of the house, and cleaned up after themselves (except for a few cigarette butts). They left their tools and supplies there, of course, and didn't work on the weekends, which I didn't mind, as we enjoyed a peaceful weekend. We have a large house and they were done in half the time - major props. After installation, we discovered the lighting plates were ill-sized to the base of our new exterior lights we purchased for the front, back and garage doors. It is $140 for the replacement sizes and for them to come back out and reinstall, but worth it for those little details that set off the look of our house. I can't believe the before and after pics. My neighbors are complimenting us when they walk by and see us outside. We have the corner lot at the head of the street, so having nice siding and curb appeal does wonders for the market value in the neighborhood. If you are thinking about using Hanson's, feel free to contact me through Yelp to discuss and I'll give you a referral.

They did a terrible job on my siding. They left uneven window trim, rough edges, large gaps where I could see the wood underneath. The head crew member would call me "sweetie" also daily while one the job and was completely inappropriate. They fixed some problems after the job was done but Eight months later my siding is falling down in places, buckling with waves. I am so disappointed. It took 3 phone calls and 2 internet inquiries to even get an appointment to have them fix these issues and they never showed! 12k in the hole and I have to look at this issues everyday. They have a guarantee but that is worthless if they won't follow through.

Hanson's does not stand behind its promises and guarantees. Very unreliable. Gutters are unreliable and Hanson's refuses to service them.

Chip kept the Promise and that has built a Trust that cannot be bought, cause its not for sale, It is Trust. The quality of workmanship and products (windows and doors here) and finishing siding work left behind was excellent. Cannot say enough good about my personal experience with Chip and his team of experts. I want to say this also, Chip did not swoop down on a community in their confusion and need. I and neighbors saw to many out of state "contractors" arrive with their pads and pens in hand ready to quote and get a handshake and in many cases GET $$$$$$ A-DEPOSIT.an then you may or may not see some if these guys again. I personally had a contractor BEFORE CHIP NWO RENOVATIONS THAT I SIGNED WITH AND THE COMPANY AS IT TURNED OUT SUB CONTRACTED WITH A CONTRACTOR JESSIE WHOM PROCEEDED TO RIP ME OFF FOR $2,600.00 for a window down payment I Never got the window. Then I called Jessies Boss in Hudson Mi. only to discovered Jessie was going around doing this to others in my community. Unfortunately, Jessie was not the only one! . I really do not care if Jessie ever sees his name here as he has a-lot to answer for. Then a true God answered prayer I found NWO Renovations and Chip. It was then that all the repair work went so simple and well. I could not believe that there really are Honest Good People in this World. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NWO RENOVATIONS AND CHIP OWNER. Chris from Main Street was quick to respond and we set up an on-site consult for later in the week. I knew which windows (4 of them) I wanted replaced since an Anderson Renewal guy had come out separately to inspect & provide a quote. Chris from Main Street was extremely kind, helpful, and upfront. I chose them ultimately because of this pleasant meeting, urgency for the replacement, and fair price. He was my only point of contact the whole job which was nice and he was on top of communicating things throughout the whole process. We also have siding being replaced so he communicated with my other contractor to coordinate timing. Pricing was very reasonable compared to Renewal but more expensive than a DIY vinyl install because of the window quality. I wanted a window that would last and was willing to pay more. The Anderson 100 series installed was literally half the cost of what Renewal had quoted me (I believe they quoted the 300 series) but are very high quality windows regardless and we really like them. There are some minor aesthetic defects from the manufacturing of the windows (pictured here) but they can be trimmed off very easily and aren't a concern. The installer Dre came in with Dan as support and they did a beautiful job. I had plenty of notice beforehand and they finished the job exactly as estimated (about 6 hours) after cleaning up very nicely. All in all, I thought Main Street Windows had a competitive price, I appreciated their recommendation for the product, they did a great job communicating, and the windows look great.

The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.

It's not the direction in which we pass to see it. The windows were installed in October while my father-in-law was in Hospice. Admittedly, it was not our biggest priority to scrutinize the craftsmanship and quality of the install. In March, I discovered exposed wood, unprimed, I was not aware they installed. I looked at the install directions and it clearly says primed. I called and they were able to send somebody out April 9. The person they sent out, said he would note the problems, including one of the boards that clearly also should have been replaced and I would hear from someone within two at the latest three weeks. Today is May 7, and I had not heard from anyone from Wallside. I called and spoke with a customer representative who pulled up the order and said let me speak to a supervisor. She came back and indicated the primed was referencing the interior boards and not the exterior boards and the only place those if necessary. They were clearly in need of replacement when the order was placed. I noted if that were the case, at minimum, they should have noted they had to replace the boards on the outside and that they were not primed so we could've had someone address the matter before leaving the wood exposed the entire winter season. Her response was the sales person should have gone over this. She noted he wrote in one the contract the stops on the inside are primed, but may not match the existing interior, if available. There is nothing I can find specifically in the contract addressing the exterior boards. A reasonable person would assume a window company replacing windows would replace rotted around the window as it part of the structure integrity of the window and sill. The demeanor of the company representative was dismissive and defensive. The first time I called, I was told the supervisor was in a meeting and that they would have to get back to me. They did not, and I called the second time before they sent someone else to make the assessment. I would highly recommend that you consider looking at other companies before using Wallside Windows.

After horrific struggles with Home Depot and Lowe's with multiple failed orders for two entry doors, we switched to Renewal to give them a try. Calling to schedule a consultation appointment was very simple. Within the next week, our Design Consultant Gerard came over and we had a lengthy discussion about our options for both doors and the process it'll take to accomplish the task. Like I said earlier, it costs a good amount of money, but with the current state of steel door backlogs and incompetence of "chain" stores, we just wanted this done. A couple weeks later we had the official measuring tech, Thomas, out to measure the exact dimensions of what we needed, as well as other accessories. A couple months went by while the door was being constructed (yes, sadly Renewal by Andersen cannot escape supply chain difficulties either), but that was okay because we had a good feeling that they'd be correct this time. We were patiently anticipating the outcome of this journey. We received our call of when the installation would be and had our fingers crossed that everything was correct. A man arrived to install both door, which was quite impressive that he was going to do both, all the side work required, as well as removal of the old doors. First thing was first, that I went out and made sure the doors would fit where they were supposed to go and luckily, they were perfect fits! He went through and installed both doors in a few hours, just before the storm hit! We were very impressed with the results (pictures attached) and it was well worth the wait. Bottom line, Renewal By Andersen is more expensive, but their quality, handling of service, and product selection is top of the line, so it's incredibly worth it! Each person through the process was incredibly friendly and the loan company that we were working with after to pay off our work, GreekSky, was simple and easy to use/navigate as well.
