There are four reasons I say this: 1.)Attention to Detail - When Katelyn came to inspect our roof, she conducted a detailed inspection with pictures. Katelyn found multiple leaks I had missed, identified ventilation issues that were causing mold growth I had noticed, and provided the most detailed overview of our roof's current state. Other roofing companies did not spend nearly as much time with us and missed the other leaks since they did not even fully inspect the attic. Where do I start...We selected Billy's Roofing because we thought we were getting more value for our money (full roof tear off and replacement, baffle installation and venting our bathroom fans). Boy, were we wrong! The team leader Greg, was rude and never bothered to introduce himself as our point of contact. Fast forward to winter and we had leaking on our exterior walls in 4 rooms. Billy's came back out to look at the issue and it was discovered that they pulled back the insulation in the soffits creating a cold void, the baffles were not properly installed, one of the bathroom fans did not have a collar attached to the pipe, and we pointed out that a few of the shingles have exposed nails. They came back and fixed the bathroom fan and the attached the baffles and we were told that they would contact us in the spring to have someone replace the shingles with the exposed nails and re-paint. Never heard from them! We had a company come out to add extra attic insulation and it was pointed out that Billy's used the wrong size baffles (not tall enough) and they stapled the baffles at the top, leaving the bottom open for insulation to get in there and block the soffit vents. Plus they never pushed the insulation back in place, so we would have had the same issue again this winter. read more

Out of 3 bids i had done Billy's was the most professional, got right up on the roof and sent us dozens of photos show problem areas. They were competitive with the other quotes i received. We finally got our new roof a couple weeks ago, put on by Billy's Roofing. Billy's did a great job, even got the card of approval from the City of Farmington Hills with the fellow from the City indicating it was a nice job, very well done. Billy's team showed up at 7:00 AM and they were done by 4 or 5 that afternoon. They sent out what must have been a dozen or more people. Charles, the crew chief, was professional and courteous, and kept the work moving. Also, when we informed him that we had a nest of baby birds right under one of the eaves on the garage, he told his crew to be careful around the area and then put a barrier of some type for protection against materials being tossed from the roof. There was no music, just work and discussion, and they also yelled an alert "Homeowner on the ground," when we had to take our dogs out for their business. They cleaned up as the work was done, running a magnet over the lawn, sidewalk and driveway multiple times, they swept out my garage , cleaned up the back patio, and overall, they left everything cleaner than they found it. These guys, every last one of them, were complete professionals. For the work done, we had all the sheathing removed and replaced with new boards, the soffit vents were improved and additional ones were added, they put in a ridge vent for us (been wanting one for a few years now), and the shingles Katelyn (Billy's sales rep) and I selected are stunning. Katelyn was with us through the entire process, answered all our questions, and came out afterward to check on everything and to see if we had any other questions. When a hail storm hit my house in June 2015, a representative from Billy's Roofing drove by and stopped to talked to me. He checked my roof and found some damage and took pictures on his iPad to show me. He didn't do a "hard sell" on me. He left his business card after telling me about Billy's Roofing and drove off. I checked the company out online. I checked the BBB and Yelp. I read all the reviews and decided to call the representative back. He met with my insurance adjuster and he worked WELL with them. My insurance company approved a whole new roof, gutters, and siding repairs. I wasn't swayed by the negative reviews on Yelp. I found the company website and the costumer's video useful. What sold me on Billy's was their representative's approach and honesty. He didn't promise me money back or try to tell me he could control the insurance company. I signed with them and they completed my roof in ONE day (tear-off and new roof). The gutters and siding were replaced and repaired as promised and when promised. The owner, Billy, stopped by to say hello and make himself available for questions. The roofing crew worked hard, cleaned up everything, and they were pleasant (NO swearing, loud music, or offensive behaviors). The siding crew was friendly and equally professional. The gutter crew was an sub-contractor and their work was perfect. They made some changes to downspouts and improvements to the original gutters. A few neighbors used Billy's and had the same experience. Others used different companies and weren't as lucky. Other neighbors had good luck with a different contractor too. Just got off the phone with Jason. I called to schedule a routine roof inspection and to discuss any potential repairs. Even though their website says right at the top "Get a free no-obligation quote" he was completely unwilling to drive the 10 miles to do an inspection, even with the prospect of future paid work. He complained that they rarely see any paid business from doing quotes and inspections and I should find someone else. I politely informed him that if they weren't willing to do inspections and quotes they would guarantee themselves zero repeat business.
