As part of my magical dining experience, I got the calamari, the meatloaf, and the bread pudding, ALL of which were fantastic. The calamari came crispy and stayed that way even though we sat outside in the humidity. It was dressed in a sweet sour spicy sauce - this was the standout appetizer of the 3 that we ordered. The calamari came with spicy chilis that the waitress asked if I wanted on the side minding my spice tolerance, I asked for it to be as the chef prepares it which is right on top, I should've asked for it on the side because it was very spicy. Fortunately, the spice does not permeate through the sauce and I was able to pick around the chilies. The meatloaf was ok but I can't really complain about a dish that is boring to begin with. Everything was good but nothing innovative or interesting. Very hearty and a lot of food, but if this dish was a paint color, it would be agreeable-gray - a crowd pleaser, filling, and no fuss. I will preface the dessert with the fact that I love bread pudding, i compare all bread puddings to Ohana's at Disney's Polynesian resort, and this definitely met or exceeded that bar. The portion was perfectly served in a mini cocotte, the bread was toasted on the top, gooey on the inside, full butterscotch flavors throughout, it was heavenly as we watched the sun set behind of the beautiful lake where the restaurant sits. The food here has definitely upgraded but my main complain that I had before was the attentiveness of the waitstaff and they turned that completely around. Our waiter came out and apologized as a pass-by. While we were waiting, we wanted to order another glass of wine. Our server was nowhere to be found. We had to ask another person for more water and a refill. We ordered salmon, it took over 10 minutes since our appetizer plates were cleared, and it was just ok. The asparagus was the best part. We both thought that the salmon was way too oily. I wouldn't recommend. It was another 10 minutes after our entree plates were cleared to have the dessert served. Again, it was just ok. It then took us having to get our server's attention to get the tab. Service was not good. But the automatic gratuity was minimum 20%.
