Formerly a 3 Michelin star restaurant. It lost a star in 2023 and now remain as a 2 Michelin star restaurant. First of all, you are required to spend a minimum of HK$500 (about USD$64) per person. Secondly, it's recommended to make reservations beforehand. They are located in Four Seasons and the place is already packed once they are opened. Lastly, their dim sum menu is available on weekdays only. Baked pineapple bun with barbecue pork and pine nuts: This was like a combination of the pineapple bun nai wong bao and char siu bao. The pineapple bun is good with a sweet crunch top. The char siu was good and tender. There was a good balance between sweet and savory. Baked whole abalone puff with diced chicken: Elevated version of the traditional taro puff. The puff was soft and crispy. The diced chicken portion was small stuffed into the puff. It didn't have much flavor. The abalone on top was alright. Appearance wise, this was pretty cool to look at. Steamed lobster and scallop dumpling: Elevated version of the shumai. The lobster on top tasted like prawns not lobster. The taste was ok but it was fresh. This dish only serves 1 piece per order. Steamed shrimp dumplings with bamboo shoots: Pretty much like a typical shrimp dumpling at any other dim sum restaurant. Nothing special. Xiao Long Bao: The Xiao long bao was good. My favorite out of the others we tried here. The broth was hot and flavorful. The meat was very good and savory. Chilled mango and sago cream with pomelo: The dessert was refreshing. It has a light mango taste but no pomelo flavor. There were some tiny pieces of pomelo but didn't have any taste. It just adds texture. Overall, we had to order multiple of the same dim sum since we didn't reach the minimum of HK$500 per person. We were pretty full and were pretty much forced to get a couple desserts to reach the minimum. The minimum requirement is honestly ridiculous especially when we are dining with 3 people. Their dim sum was alright, nothing memorable. They use expensive ingredients but I didn't think it was anything special or mind blowing. The service was alright. They weren't attentive and were kind of stand-off ish when we requested for a seat by the window instead of the middle of the restaurant. I can see why they lost a Michelin star. If you want to try a 3 Michelin star and a Black Pearl recipient Chinese foods with dim sum, I recommend the Jade Dragon in Macau. An hour boat ride from HK. Heard that it is the best Cantonese cuisine in the world, located on the 4th floor of the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. I managed to find a spot for lunch at the last minute through a certain fish. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I found that there were more than two empty tables, but there were no available spots for lunch on Open Table. It is said that dim sum is only available at lunchtime! I ordered some recommended dim sum and dishes that received good reviews. To conclude, the crab shell dish was the most delicious, followed by the buns. The buns contain pine nuts, and the skin is very soft and tender, making the texture unique and delicious! The taste of the chicken soup recommended by everyone might be liked by foreigners, but personally, I found it a bit too rich. I still prefer traditional Chinese soup (a bit lighter). They also served dim sum after the meal which I felt was average. The rice noodle roll was quite innovative, filled with preserved vegetables and char siu, the first time I've had rice noodle roll with preserved vegetables. The abalone didn't impress me much. The must-try "unusual rice" was my first time having rice-shaped Italian pasta, which turned out to be fried noodles instead of fried rice. So when you can't decide whether to eat rice or noodles, you can have this. The taste is quite strong due to the addition of special XO sauce, slightly resembling the salty rice from Southern Fujian, Minnan... Not sure if anyone understands, but the texture is like small, distinct noodle pieces!! Quite unique, a serving is equivalent to two small bowls, not much. The crispy chicken in the tenth picture is not highly recommended. I think it's not as good as the roasted goose and soy sauce chicken from Hong Kong's roasted goose shops... The middle part is okay, but the rest is too tough! But since I only had a few bites, the staff noticed and asked if it didn't suit my taste. After expressing my thoughts, the staff waived the charge for this dish, which was quite generous and unexpected There are many drink options on the menu, and they are quite expensive! A bottle of plain water costs 110 Hong Kong dollars. The selection of alcoholic beverages is extensive, perhaps one of the standards for a Michelin restaurant. I ordered bubble tea because I liked it last time. I personally recommend the Hong Kong-exclusive rose bubble tea (the third one on the menu), which has a slightly sweet rose flavor, not too strong in tea taste, somewhat like a non-alcoholic rose bubble wine. The oolong tea bubble tea felt a bit too sour, with overly complex seasoning. The service was excellent, with staff coming over to refill tea at any time (your teacup must be nine-tenths full), and they also came over to inquire about the taste of the dishes, similar to foreign restaurants. I feel it's a restaurant suitable for foreigners to host guests. The overall taste is not bad, but not to the extent of being extremely delicious, and the value for money is not high. A shoutout to Yuki, my server for lunch at Lung King Heen. She was professional and considerate explaining different options on the menu and recommended the executive lunch set instead of the à la carte so I could have a better dining experience. She kindly substituted one of the lunch set's dim sum selections with the pineapple pine nuts BBQ pork bun after learning that I flew 8000 miles from New York to try the bun! All items were refined and delicious. She even threw in a split peas coconut pudding and a small cookie for extra dessert. The lunch set was great for a solo dining experience even it was a bit heavy that I had to skip dinner. The staff members with great attention to details poured tea into my cup as soon as I finished without me asking. The restaurant with a beautiful view also has a world-class team! Lung king heen is pretty much universally included in any list of best Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong. With three Michelin stars the expectation when eating here is that this will be one of the best restaurants in the world. It doesn't meet that standard in my opinion, but if your expectations are lowered to having tasty food and a pleasant dining experience then you won't be disappointed. The food here is good and not amazing. The service is very good and the environment is nice as well. Worth every penny for the 3 Michelin start experience. I'm a huge dim sum fan, and where else to get better dim sum than the best dim sum restaurant in HK? I emailed the restaurant and made reservation in advance for lunch of course. We arrived at the Four Seasons a bit earlier and sat in the lounge area because the restaurant was busy and couldn't seat us earlier. We got a nice quiet booth in the corner, although we would have liked to have a table next to the window with the view of the bay. We had 4 different servers, our main guy was really good. He was nice and attentive and chatted with us about the food and the restaurant's history. We ordered the prefix lunch course meal and then a bunch of dim sum dishes a la carte based on his recommendations. The food was EXCELLENT! I'm a total seafood whore and this restaurant definitely catered to me. The portion sizes are decent and we were really stuffed. Lunch cost us a little less than $200usd, really not too bad. I now have seen a new level of service, wine pouring, and Peking duck cutting. The service was almost impeccable, except that we kept loosing the sommelier. The recommended Brunello was a little too light for our fatty dishes but the Rioja that we followed up with was a winner. Someone else picked a white wine that very good too, but I am not sure what it was. The portions were big for a Michelin starred restaurant. Our local host ordered typical Hong Kong dishes so it is difficult for me to recall exactly what we had. As always in the area, the variety of unusual roots and vegetables is always stunning. Lung King Heen is a pretty good spot to have dim sum. I recommend to get a reservation a month in advance to lock in the day and time you want. I preordered a whole Peking duck for my boyfriend and I (if you want to have a Peking duck, you have to request it at least 6 hours in advance). The duck we received was huge! We were the duck two ways. The first part they served it Peking style. They cut the duck into slices with an even meat to skin ratio. They put it into a wrap where you can add chives, cucumbers and sauce to make an Asian burrito. Skin was very crispy and meat was pretty good. The rest of the duck, they used to make E-fu noodles. Noodles was the perfect tenderness. We also had suckling pig, soup and chilled mango pomelo dessert. The suckling pig was good but I just wished the pieces were bigger. Meat was succulent while the skin was crispy. I had a pork gogi berry soup and it was refreshing. My boyfriend had the lobster corn soup and it tasted exactly like lobster corn chowder. We came here for the dim sum lunch, and I've never been to a more fancier dim sum experience than at Lung Keen Heen. I was thankful for the English menu since I'm used to seeing the push carts and eating with my eyes! The baked char siu baos were delicious, but maybe the more interesting and surprisingly better item we had was a baked puff topped with chicken and abalone. While our table was tucked away from the window, I imagine having that panoramic view only makes the experience that much more impressive. The only reason I was fortunate enough to eat here was because my family-friends happened to book a reservation for this restaurant four months ago..and it happened to be exactly on the week I landed. And I am so glad I did get to eat here. It was such a wonderful opportune dining experience. This marks my first fancy dim sum experience in Hong Kong and in general. Unlike the local dim sum restaurants in HK, Lung King Heen is very top-tier, high-class, and clearly for richer, more sophisticated people than me. I can see why it earned its Michelin star. Food is very clean and fresh. I tried the Lobster Rice Roll for the first time and wow..I've only tried the shrimp version but lobster is so delicious. Waiters are also very polite and accommodating. View overlooking Central piers and the harbor is also very nice. I think the beauty of this place is its simplicity and austerity. The one color to describe would be cream. The atmosphere is very quiet and quite representative of what you would think of when you hear the words "high tea" . Lovely displays of desserts on small plates, the sauces come in a fancy ceramic set, and tea is served in a fancy kettle. I felt like I should have worn a nice little hat, a flowery dress, and drunk my tea with my pinkies up. Definitely recommend coming here if you have the time...and money! 3 Michelin Stars? Yes, Lung King Heen deserves all three of its much-deserved Michelin stars. Since I was staying at the Four Seasons HK, the Concierge was able to book me a dinner reservation at the much-acclaimed Lung King Heen. I was also able to pre-order a Peking Duck because the restaurant needs 24 hours notice for the Peking Duck order. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. While I have eaten my share of gourmet Cantonese/Hong Kong style meals around the San Francisco Bay Area, LKH is the cream of the crop. The tabletops are beautifully set and the room is filled with color and elegance. Our table of three ordered the following: Peking Duck: This was divided into two courses. The traditional peking duck with the wraps and stir-fried minced duck served with lettuce wraps. While this was not my favorite meal of the evening, it tasted absolutely delicious. They also give you accompanying garnishes for your duck wraps. The duck skin was crispy and meat tender. Wok-Fried Australian Beef Tenderloin with Spring Onions, Garlic and Black Pepper: This is the second best beef I have ever eaten in my life, behind the A5 Wagyu Beef I consumed in Vegas years ago. Cooked perfectly, the beef tenderloin came to be packed with flavor while maintaining its crispy exterior. Crispy Tofu Sheet Rolls with Vegetables: BEST fried rolls of any sort that I have ever eaten in my lifetime. Arguably my favorite dish of the evening. I could have eaten a whole plate of these and been satisfied. Braised Egg Noodles with BBQ Pork, Ginger and Spring Onions: My least favorite entree during the evening. I wanted to get a type of stir-fry noodle, but I decided to get these braised egg noodles because I wanted a change of pace from all the wok-fried/roasted dishes I had already eaten. The waiter described these noodles to me as wet noodles with sauce. I didn't really enjoy these noodles as much, though to no fault of the restaurant. It was just a personal preference. I didn't really enjoy the sliced ginger within my bowl of noodles. Nonetheless, I still ate my 1-2 individual bowls of noodles. Service here is excellent. I can't count the number of times our water glasses were filled. They were never left half-full. Midway through our meal, I took off my jacket and hung it on the back of the chair. A waiter/bus boy saw this and quickly got a coat protector to put over my jacket. Quick thinking! I also asked our waiter if he could write down the list of dishes I had ordered, so I could take it back home. 20 minutes later, he showed up with a custom printed-out menu sheet with my selected entrees and my name in bold on top of the menu sheet. The staff here goes out of their way to satisfy your needs. For folks who don't speak Chinese and want to dine here...don't worry, the wait staff here speaks excellent English. I have never been to a two Michelin-star restaurant, much less a three star one. LKH is very impressive and aims to please. The final restaurant of our Hong Kong journey was not a let down by any means. We got a beautiful window-side table for dinner and ordered enough food to put us to sleep, but it was all so delicious. Even with high expectations, this restaurant impressed. The question is: is it 3-Michelin star worthy? I'm still undecided on that point. The Good: - Delicious food all around. The peking duck was glorious, the beef tenderloin heavenly... - The waiters were all good. But the absolute standout was Bernard, the sommelier. The Not So Good: - The food was delicious. But I'm pondering if it "3 Michelin Star"; what set it beyond and above all the other wonderful Cantonese food in the city? We like to dine at the hotel the first night we arrive. It's just easy and hassle free. Since it was in hotel, I was afraid it would be too westernized Chinese food but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a good balance between western and authentic cousin. We ordered taro dumplings as an appetizer which was ok. Three main main BF and I shared were sea bass chicken and beef. Sea bass was amazing crispy outside but fluffy inside with incredible seasoning. I ordered a abalone which was right on the money. Lot of local people were there which is good sign. On a weekday, the clientele at this 3 Michelin star place was mostly business folks and tai tais. I felt out of place but as they say, fake it till you make it. LKH is super duper fancy. The location and harbour views get top marks. We decided to do a la carte instead of the executive lunch set. I can't remember all the things we ordered but I had no idea dim sum can look so...pretty, for lack of a better word. The service is like the food - over the top but excellent. Also, I had the best jasmine tea money can buy. Overall, if you have money to spare, go ahead and treat yourself. But if you just want some good ole dim sum, let's be real. Probably some of the best Cantonese food from a nice sit down restaurant you are ever going to eat. If you don't know already it has three michellin stars which is pretty crazy. The menu is huge, nearly a whole page for appetizers, a page of soups, a page of birds nest, two pages of speciality items and beef, two pages of seafood, and a page of poultry, plus one more for desserts. They also have a number of set menus some with wine parings and a few things that require advance ordering like Peking duck (6 hours advance notice). Its easy to be overwhelmed and just go with a set menu but its great to build your own. This was our second visit. Two years ago, it was indeed one of the world's best restaurants. The atmosphere was of luxury and refinement, the service professional and impeccable, the food divine, the wine list impressive and the sommelier very knowledgeable. We were eager to return. I wish we had not and kept the lovely memory of our first trip. Something was "off" from the moment we entered. Servers were enthusiastic but relatively inexperienced. The sense of luxury and refinement was absent. We wanted to start with glasses of champagne from the cart. Not happening. We tasted two and they were unfamiliar labels and tasted unpleasant. We decided to skip champagne and asked for the wine list. The Corton we ordered was OK but not memorable. The chef and server were very careful with food allergies but that meant we had limited choices mostly not from the menu, because they said most everything had lots of MSG in it. We did not recall that being the case in 2017. The dishes were fresh tasting but not delicious and all were underseasoned. My best dish was the almond soup dessert from the menu. My companion liked a chicken dish best. All in all, an ok meal but not at a three Michelin Star quality price point. We paid about $6000HK for a disappointing experience that tarnished the memory of the earlier one. Perhaps the difficult political situation has led to cutbacks. If so, they should adjust price to match quality. In any case it is no longer representative of its Michelin rating. We will not return. read more

We decided to make a stop at Lung King Heen for dinner, as aside from its tenure as the longest Chinese restaurant to have 3 Michelin stars, it is also in the Four Seasons hotel where we were staying - so it was extremely convenient to pop on down for dinner. While many restaurants of this caliber can tend to feel very formal and stuffy, I really enjoyed that the ambiance (along with the dress code) was relatively more informal, making it a lot easier to enjoy the meal. It was a cloudy day out, but if you get a seat by the window, you'll have a great view of the Kowloon skyline. The service here is also very good - the food was brought out as done, so we didn't have to wait all that long to get our grub on, and whether it was our main server, the sommelier who brought over the wine, or the tea sommelier who prepared our tea in the proper traditional style tableside, everyone was a pleasure to speak to. I wouldn't say that everyone's English was perfect, but it was more than enough to get by on, and it was certainly better than a number of similarly-tiered restaurants we have been to elsewhere in the non-native English speaking parts of the world. Given we had a decent amount of food earlier in the day, we decided to forego the tasting menu and order some dishes a la carte. There's a broad range of options divided up by style and type of food, with each section having a number of 'chef's recommended' asterisks next to them. We ended up selecting a number of those to dine on, along with one order of the seasonal sauteed vegetables to add a little bit of greenery to the proceedings. While the veggies were undoubtedly a bit overpriced, they were very lightly flavored and a nice palate cleanser of sorts against every other dish. That said, while I'm used to having Chinese cuisine that tends to add sauces and other seasonings with (somewhat) wild abandon, the refined nature of the food here lends the typical Cantonese flavors to dishes without overwhelming you. The Australian wagyu is a great example - cooked a little more through than you'd typically find in a Western restaurant (they did it between medium and medium-well), but it was still tenderized and delicious without needing to be seasoned much more. My two favorites bites of the meal were variants of traditional Asian dishes. First would be the spring roll with lobster and black truffle...simply decadent. Perhaps most importantly, the roll was lightly fried just the right amount, where each piece would flake off without causing the entire roll to deconstruct, and the lobster and truffle paired together perfectly for a slightly earthy, but still succulent, bite of seafood with an extra crunch. The crispy suckling pig served with a very thin pancake in the middle basically ate like Peking duck, but with the extra meatiness of the pork instead. The skin is crisped to perfection, and the pancake serves to give firmness and structure to each bite (whereas the fattiness would give a decadent dissolution). We finished off dessert with pudding (mine with red bean, my wife's with mango), which was a refreshing way to close out the meal. There are so many good choices here that it'd be easy to come back and try some other bites out (as well as other beverages - the tea choices are quite extensive). While it may feel a bit pricey for Chinese food, I'd say it's definitely worth the extra dollars to see what well-prepared Chinese cuisine can be like, where traditional dishes are prepared in overtly and subtly innovative ways. read more

Not sure why this is 3 Michelin stars, let alone a Yelp one. There's better Cantonese food out there, it's Hong Kong, for God's sake. Fairly ordinary, if anything overly-salty, which might suit all of the Chinese billionaires who basically live here at the HK Four Seasons (to avoid prosecution in the PRC). No Cantonese spoken around us, which is telling, ie no locals. Yeah, the view is nice (get a drink in the lobby if you want that) and the service is good (standard at most hotel restaurants in HK), but doesn't cover up the mediocre food that locals obviously don't dig. read more

For a 3 Michelin star, dinner was nothing special. Service was excellent, food tasted like a normal Chinese restaurant. Will not be back for dinner. They are known for their dim sum so if given the opportunity to visit Hong Kong again, I might be back for their dim sum. read more

There is a reason that this is known to be the best dim sum place in Hong Kong. The service and food was excellent and what one would expect for restaurants in this grade but what really stuck with me was how down to earth dining was. I throughly enjoyed my solo meal here. read more

If looking for a fine dining Cantonese restaurant in Hong Kong don't look further than Lung King Heen. The ambience is amazing, the service impeccable and the food is fantastic. The views over Victoria harbour are an added bonus. Highlights of the meal were the crispy eel with sweet soy sauce and wasabi, the superior pottage with shredded chicken soup, wok fried pork belly in Sichuan style and of course the Peking Duck! The eel was crispy and sweet but still gave a kick of wasabi. While the pork was spicy and peppery, and the soup was thick and very rich. The Peking duck was crispy and one of the best I've ever had, our server Ida told us that to add extra flavour to the pancakes the Duck is used. Ida was an absolute gem and everyone on the staff was gracious and helpful. I highly recommend Lung King Heen, and it deserves each one of its 3 Michelin stars. read more
