Cute little dumplings. I was in love with it. Cute and very tasty. The noodles was bland thought. The restaurant looks classy and pricey. Would definitely recommend if you guys want the cute dumplings we live the pig bbq bun and green tea bun. Service was okay typical Chinese people. (Never expect good service from it)
So much hype for this place it's practically unbelievable, but I knew I had to visit during my time in Hong Kong. I came here with a friend who is a local, and I guess the store/concept is largely a tourist trap, which in my case - also an IG foodie trap as well. We arrived pretty late in the afternoon, around 2:30pm on a weekday, to an empty restaurant with just one other party besides us. I believe they stop serving dim sum after 4pm. Obviously we had to order the custard buns & piggy bbq pork buns. Additionally, we also got the Halloween special "eyeball" dish, which was just ha gow (shrimp balls) and shu mai. In the regular menu item, we ordered the fried fish with a vinegar sauce, veggies, and a squid ink rice to compliment our order. I would say we ordered more than plenty of food for two people to share. Might be just me, but I couldn't quite figure out how to poke the custard bun so it would squeeze out the fillings as I've seen many people do. Despite my struggle, I really enjoyed the bun. The BBQ pork bun was my favorite, and way cuter too! I really admire their creative spin on their dim sum items & it definitely draws people in. My only complaint was the fried fish dish, due to the fact that the vinegar had completely covered the fish, making it incredibly acidic to the taste. Not a fan. Otherwise I loved the squid ink rice, I thought the flavors were not overwhelming but you could still taste the seafood embedded in the rice. Though the food was pretty good across the board, this was a pricey meal. It totaled close to $800hkd , which is roughly $100usd. There's way more quality dim sum for a fraction of the price, but if you want a cute IG photo, pay a visit!

I admit I'm not a huge bao fan, so I wasn't expecting to love the food here, and I didn't. I felt the bao was mostly heavy-handed and thick, with little filling. But it was, indeed, very cute, which is really the reason to go here. Service was friendly, and the place (once you find it) is fairly spacious.
Expensive, very Instagram friendly, but taste wasn't that great. The dishes are much more pleasing to the eyes than the stomach. Great place to go for groups of more than 4 people though. If there's 3 or less of you, you'll get so full, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself. We definitely over ordered, but that's because we wanted to take a picture of all the cute dishes!!
A great place for people to take Instagram photos (like me) and have some fun, but overall on the pricey side! The food is okay, but the molten custard buns are where it's at. My friend and I came here and split six dishes among the two of us. We ordered an appetizer set (vinegar fungus, peanut sauce shredded chicken noodles, and marinated duck), a green tea molten custard bun, a BBQ pork bun, and pineapple flaky pastries shaped as chicks. Unfortunately, the liquid inside the buns didn't flow as well as we hoped, so the effect wasn't the same. The pastries, however, were super adorable and quite tasty! Service was friendly for the most part. Definitely make a reservation in advance as it is a prime destination for tourists!
We came here solely for the character dim sum, which was a hit for my 4-year-old. He loved the piggy BBQ pork buns. He enjoyed pulling off the nose and ears and eating them, then after a bite to expose the filling, he proceeded to eat all the filling in two buns. He then moved onto the green tea buns with eyeballs, poking holes then squishing them to make them spit and/or poop ooze. The adults didn't have high expectations for food quality, and our expectations weren't exceeded, thus the 3 star review. The service was pretty lackluster, so this was bordering on a 2 star review, but I decided to be generous, since my child enjoyed himself.

Came and stayed for the hype. I immediately had a favorable impression of the place thanks to the ceramic bowl with a cute fishy in it. Food took a while to get here but when it did oh boy. Veggies were at just the right temperature which is pretty rare in dim sum-style places - it's usually too hot or too cold. The buns had great designs which are probably the reason why this place is insta famous. Finally our dan dan noodles rolled through which were absolutely delicious. Dessert was great (although SOMEONE accidentally ate mine). The drinks were ok. Sometimes had to follow up with waiters to get our food but that was to be expected - it's a really busy joint. Overall I highly recommend and would definitely come again!

The dim sum was so-so if I am honest, but they are photogenic, plus the green tea custard bun, when I pole a hole at the mouth area, the custard literally just squirt out from the bun. It was hilarious. Definitely worth a video shot there. I also ordered the spicy beef noodle soup, no joke when they said it was spicy. I took a sip and literally started to cough and tears were rolling down from my eyes, lol. Pictures to be included. Not alot of options of food as one might think for a know restaurant. Prices were on the high end probably because they are well known for their bun design. I ordered 7 dishes which came out to be $530 HK, roughly $70 US. Recommended for the experience, and for the picture purposes. If you want to get your moneys worth in HK then this is not the place.
This is not your usual or ordinary dimsum. It's dimsum or yum cha in style. Restaurant is not that big and can easily get crowded. We were seated right away and it was not busy when we arrived (during lunch hour) but within a 20 mins., the restaurant was full. Hence the service after that became slow. Servers was in a rush mode but tries to accommodate. Hit and miss on friendliness. Our food came out a bit of a longer wait than expected but food taste and presentation was worth the wait. Price is a bit expensive considering the portions are just average. But overall, worth it! The table next to us ordered some pretty interesting looking dish. Will definitely come back here again to try different dishes in their menu.

A bit pricey for dim sum and food coloring, but the ambiance and mood are everything. I left too full and thoroughly entertained. Squeezing bao until they ooze out their "mouths" is a lot of fun. Sometimes they ooze out their butts -I'd give more stars just for that. And then ALL the stars for the aesthetics (10/10). Cute cute cute. How cute exactly? The bbq bao is decorated as a pig! Ahhhh. So you see the concept is definitely adorable, and the menu is inspiringly creative, but I thought the actual execution and taste were just okay. Mainly I didn't care for the buns and texture, so I don't think I would need to come back, especially not with all the authentic dim sum around. That's my advice -worth it to check out at least once for the cutesy baos. Do it for the gram. Yum Cha was the most iconic eating experience I had while in Hong Kong. You see, I love tasty food, but I really really LOVE tasty and aesthetically pleasing food! I came in during a rainy night and was seated rather quickly. I ordered the shrimp dumpling with rainbow translucent skin, the pineapple bird pastries, and the green tea steamed buns with faces. My server gave me a bag for my umbrella, which was appreciated. While the shrimp dumplings and the green tea steamed buns were pretty yummy, the pineapple bird pastries were just a bit too dry for my tastes. Too much pastry, and not enough pineapple filling! Everything was really beautiful though, and arrived nice and fast! I would definitely recommend coming here if you are a tourist, the menu is really tourist friendly with lots of pictures and accurate written names for the dishes. YUM! CHA! :3 read more
Creativity is increasingly a plus when it comes to a dining experience. When you combine dim sum with creativity, it really does take it to a whole different level! We had seen the pictures of the dim sum here and decided it would be a great place to go with our kiddos. We made a reservation through our hotel, and this ended up being a great idea. We arrive around 530, and the place was already packed. It has seating for maybe 50 and is located on the third floor of an apartment building. It was not super easy to find, So giving yourself some extra time is probably a plus. They have many of the standard offerings, but with a half dozen or so, they've turned these delicious creations into little characters. The green tea and custard buns both have googly eyes, the Char Siu Bao Are appropriately pick shaped, they have Chinese sausage in the shape of small dogs, there are birds shipped pineapple buns that are served in a birdcage, and finally some rose shaped buns with a small amount of rose petals contained with in the dough! They weren't the best buns we never had, but they certainly weren't the worst and they got bonus points for the fun factor. We were not fans of the fact that they charge individually for tea, and we also found out that a large bottle of water was about $12. C'est la vie, and it's OK while on vacation, but if we lived here, this definitely wouldn't be the place we went every day. If you can make a reservation and go here with a group, it's definitely worth your time to try out once. Our bill for a low to moderate amount of food was about $100, so you're definitely paying for the novelty factor. It's very much worth trying out once, because at the very least you'll have a story! read more

Got sucked into the cute dim-sum buns! They did not disappoint! Not only do they look amazing , they taste amazing too! Will definitely come back & try different items as well. Higher price point but you pay for what you get! read more

Let that lovely light DIM SUM! This place is SO fun! Totally agree with the other Yelpers, this is a great spot to take foodie pictures! Unfortunately, we sat right under this bright hideous light. So my pictures didn't turn out that great, but definitely a super fun place for any dim sum lover! The restaurant is gorgeous, modern and very hip. We came in on a Sunday morning and should have made a reservation. Fortunately, we didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes, but overheard others in line say they've had to wait hours! We had... Pineapple Puffs Spicy 1000 Year Old Egg Spicy Turnip Cake BBQ Pork Buns Steamed Shrimp Noodle Roll Chicken & Vegetable Buns Shrimp & Pork Shumai Rainbow Shrimp Dumplings Vegetable Dumplings Sticky Rice Dumplings While everything was good. It was definitely overpriced. You are paying for the art and design of the food. The only things I didn't care for was the steamed shrimp noodle roll and shumai. The noodle roll was too soft and over steamed. The shumai tasted too porky for my liking. I had a hard time keeping it down after swallowing. It almost tasted like raw meat. I REALLY wanted to try the Green Tea Custard Buns which were on the menu, but for some reason unavailable when we came in. They didn't run out, just didn't serve them anymore. Boo! The service is MEH. Definitely a once in a lifetime fun experience! read more
This restaurant is really beautiful and clean. Their decor and silverware makes this place a great place to sit and enjoy food. Of course, I came because the food is super adorable. Who doesn't want to eat cute buns?? I think the custard buns were my favorite. The food is not bad at all, but it is quite expensive. I know you are paying for the cuteness of the items, but I ordered 5 items and felt like the amount on the bill could have fed 2 people in a day. As for finding the restaurant... as long as you have walking directions then it shouldn't be hard. It isn't on the first floor, but upstairs of a building so just remember to watch out for that. It is not a must visit if you come to hong kong.. but if you want to take cute pictures then come here! read more
Unique Chinese dishes, drinks and affordable pricing! $700 fed four people and we ordered around 6-8 dishes. They're known for their cute desserts and baked goods here. The highlights were the soft tofu with a peanut sauce, the soup rice, and the bao buns with filling shaped like animals. Overall a good experience with friends! I would come back. read more
First time coming here. Located on the Langham Place mall, very large mall with multiple levels. It's located on the 3rd floor where most of all the food is. This place was unique in terms of the type of food that they serve up. Dont let the name of the restaurant fool you that they only serve dim sum. They do offer other kinds of food as well. Met up with a friend here and we had ordered the funny animal steamed buns. I had ordered the pig and the filled custard with googly eyes. The steam buns are very entertaining and fun to eat. It looks like fake food and it's definitely 'fun' to play with your food at that moment. Definitely worth an instagram photo too. Also ordered these tempura style asparagus, singapore fried noodles and a spicy glass noodles. The asparagus was surprisingly very delicious and probably one of my most favorite items other than the steamed buns. The spicy glass noodles was something I was reluctant to try as it the dish looked very intimidating at first since the the entire bowl was swimming in hot bell peppers and the sauce was all red.. However, it wasn't as spicy as what I had thought and it was a decent dish. It's a different type of Chinese restaurant that you would find in HK, brings dim sum and modern chinese cuisine together in one and it works well. read more

It's mother's day tomorrow, and to avoid the flux of people, I booked this place one day ahead of Mother's Day. The building is newly renovated/still renovating, so it takes me like 1 extra min to locate the entrance. Just looked for the street number, you will surely find it and it is located on the third floor. Outside, there is a sign saying " Attitude Granville" which almost mistaken me as another place, but it is there! Anyways, the dim sum here was exquisitely craved and I ordered the pineapple chicks in a "bird cage", a BBQ pork bun ( which is actually made like a cutie pig bun, and a green tea custard bun. The dim sum was so-so if I am honest, but they are photogenic, and for the custard bun, when my mum bit into it, the custard literally just squirt out from the bun. It was hilarious. Definitely worth a video shot there. For the cold appetizer, they are doing a deal, so you can order any 3 cold dishes from the appetizer section which range about HKD 45 each, at a price of HKD 12x. Again food presentation was excellent, but the quality is a-ok. I ordered drunken chicken cold tofu, and a kale something. Finally for the main, the Truffle noodle smells aromatic, and the noodle is quite tasty as well. I also like the squid ink rice,which has a bit diced shrimp inside. Portion quite big. Good for share among 2. The steamed fish was ...a OK. It does not seem to have the "freshness" in it, on top with the champagne sauce, and fruits like pomelo and pomegranate. Again Presentation is beautiful. The staff has their T-shirt with "Happy to Help" written on the back, and they seem to be as well. There are some food that caters for vegetarians. Just not too many options if you do not mind. Recommend to take the tube/metro for easier access ... because parking is a pain... read more

We went to the Yum Cha branch at Tsim Sha Tsui for lunch on a weekday. The place was packed, and atmosphere lively. It's probably ideal to go in a group of 4, or be prepared to have cellphones thrust in your field of vision if seated next to selfie enthusiasts (tables are narrowly packed and arranged in "4"s). We found the food delicious and rather photogenic. They took a loooong time to arrive, but came piping hot. The pineapple chicks were very cute, and it was difficult to resist playing with the animal buns. Be sure to go through your orders with the service staff, or find a way to make your ticks noticeable (like circle them or something) - two of our orders were missed / forgotten. Overall, an interesting experience. read more

***Reads 3.5 stars*** Yum Cha, I have a love hate relationship with you. Your buns are cute af but damn, you're high maintenance ($$). I came here twice during my trip and though the food was good both times (4/5), customer service was your typical HKer idgaf, i-hate-my-job-but-i-need-money hospitality (3/5). What we ordered: SQUID INK FRIED RICE 近墨者黑- sweet, unique, and super fun to eat! BEETROOT AND SALTED FISH FRIED RICE 近朱者赤 - a vibrant color but there simply wasn't enough salted fish/flavor. If you had to pick one fried rice dish, definitely get the squid ink one! APPLE EGG TARTLETS 蘋果花撻 - they were so pretty, like roses! I like them but I prefer my egg tarts as is and without the fancy mumbo jumbo. 1000 YEAR OLD EGG & SILKEN TOFU 皮蛋豆腐 - this dish was very memorable. I thoroughly enjoyed the thinly sliced tofu! The cold 皮蛋 was potent but oddly addicting in this purée sauce format. A must get, but only if you like the 1000 yo egg flavor. SPICY TURNIP CAKE 干媽蘿蔔 - turnip cake tastes best when it's pan fried and oily. It tastes even better when it's spicy and soaked up with legit xo-sauce. Get this! HOT CUSTARD BUNS 睇住流奶 - YumCha definitely perfected the recipe because the lava custard was oozing, piping hot, and ranks in my top 3 of lava custard bun consistencies. Get yourself 2x orders of this! BBQ PIGGY BUNS 一籠八戒 - a bit spicy, there wasn't enough filling, dry. I'd skip this and get bbq buns elsewhere. I really wanted the matcha buns and the sausage dog buns but both were "sold out" the two occasions I went. Heck, a lot of items were "sold out" and I went on a weekday! read more

I was in Hong Kong for 3 days and saw all these cool pictures of this place on instagram and gave it a try! It was alright for the experience. I ordered two soups and the green tea custard bun. The soups were okay, they didn't come out super hot though, they were just warm.. I probably would not order the soup again but the buns were cute and yummy! It was not too sweet and was not bland. This place was a big hard to find since it is on the 2nd level of some building.. There are signs outside that advertises this restaurant but the lower lobby area was a total mess and was a construction site so it was kind of scary to enter. I would not have known it was a restaurant area if there were no signs around the area! I do think that this place is a bit on the pricier end since I have had better dim sum and it was less than what I paid here. I spent around 40 american dollars here. read more

A very instagrammable restaurant. Portions are tiny for the price you pay. It's overpriced even considering how cute the dim sum looks and the creativity of each dish. My custard bun did not ooze out like lava, but came out as a thick clump, which was disappointing. I enjoyed my pineapple pastry (shaped like birds) and my beetroot fried rice with salted fish and diced chicken. read more

Upper class dim sum restaurant with nice looking dishes. Priced above average dim sum places but tasted nothing special. Some of it also not really tasty. Well, this place absolutely cleaner and service is better than usual dim sum places. I wouldn't come back again. read more

Before heading to HK, I heard talk of this place and wanted to try it out. Was a little difficult to find, as like other restaurants, it in a building with a variety of stores/hotel. Found the small sign over the entrance way and headed up the elevator. We came here around 9 and waited about 15 minutes with no reservations. The place was clearing out and we were sat in a nice location. We ordered a little bit of every thing to try. The little piggy buns were my favorite. It's a nice place to take tourists such as myself. The food was great and was a nice experience. read more

Decided to try this restaurant after all the hype from Instagram. I thought this would be a gimmicky restaurant, but to my surprise the food was equally as great as how everything looked. The custard buns and BBQ pork buns were delicious and fun to play with to get the custard oozing out. I also ordered the pan fried onion pancake, turnip cake, har gow, and fried shrimp dumplings. Everything was great and I even ordered a second round of custard buns for takeaway. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice as well, great interior design, comfortable seating and friendly service. I liked all the decor and unique chinaware as well, something different from most other dim sum places. Although pricier than your average dim sum restaurant in HK, this is the place to go if you are craving dim sum and want a nice environment to enjoy it in. read more

The animal buns are really cute and the piggy pork buns are really good! The egg custard bun one was definitely my favorite though. But in all honesty, I think it's way too overhyped. It's a good experience for a first try but I wouldn't order it again. The service here sucked mainly because there was language barrier but even so, the servers never came to our attention. This is a great place to try but there are better dim sum restaraunts in HK tbh. read more

Food was so good. A little more pricey than some of the other dim sum places, but still really good. We got the truffle pasta, shrimp dumplings, BBQ buns, custard buns, green tea buns, chicken and shrimp rolls, and pork pasta. The buns were super cute and very tasty, especially the green tea bun. The truffle pasta was my favorite. We had to take food to go in the end, but it's good to know that to go containers are 3HKD each and they're not very big. Definitely recommend this place. read more
