The portions were great, I didn't manage to finish my noodles (my friend who has been there before request less noodles). You dip the crispy pork cutlet in the soup and eat it, very tender. So depending on what you want to eat, you will have to choose first where to seat. Not a problem but just spent 10min trying to understand the menu first in the lobby before choosing where to seat.(downstairs...) Now for the good stuff: - prices are not cheap but value is great. Tiger prawn, Japanese beef, etc. A lot of very premium items that they carry super fresh and delicious. Tenderloin beef melts in your mouth and the tiger prawn is just pure poetry. This little surf & turf got my bill north of $2000 but it was completely worth it. Many restaurants in HK will advertise on the menu the Japanese beef but when you want to order it, it is not available. This happens quite often and it is frustrating - grilled skewers were good but not great. Unlike yakitori-focused restaurant, it is not the only thing they do, so they are not amazing at it. The deboned stuffed chicken wing was excellent though. The vegetable skewers were just OK - 1 toro scallion roll was amazing - sake selection was good - cheesecake was good. not too sweet. - service was attentive Highly recommend this place and hope to return

Congee makes me real hot in the summer. My favorites are 免戰牛肉粥 & 豬紅粥. The seating is on the foldout tables and little stools so if you are large person it might be tough. But it is typical of restaurants like this in Hong Kong so if you want a local experience, it is what it is. Between the three or four places that I go for congee, this is the best. But because of the seating and the lack of milk tea, I don't go there more than once every two weeks.

Don't want to wait 30 to 40 minutes for a HK style sandwich and tea/coffee (done right by the way)? Well then Wai Kee is your answer! Carby Comfort Goodness! Plain congee - Many will argue that plain congee is only for sick people to eat, but in reality is one of the very few ways you can actually taste the texture. Particularly if it is cooked with some dried scallops (conpoy) which you can taste. While the jook here isn't the same as Mui Kee in Mongkok, it hits the spot. Congee with other condiments may be MSG enhanced (Law Fu Kee is definitely a prime example, despite it being more famous). The fried carby stuff here (fried dough sticks) are pretty solid. But why not get the cheung fun skin wrapped around it (ja leung)? I think I enjoyed it a tad more than Tasty at the airport. And their house made turnip pudding/cake? Very respectable rendition, although it's less hearty than those Chinese New Year versions. The steamed version is the way to go here, if you prefer that classic daikon/turnip flavor. A little soy sauce is already enough. All three of these items will fill you up nicely. Not gourmet by any means, but very comforting and fulfilling. You may not look like royalty afterwards, but you will feel quite at home.

For this price you can't beat having the wide range of selection. The meats are not your typical thinly sliced rolled meats (see pics), but meat is meat and I can't complain. It adds another all you can eat option to the buffet crazy Kowloon side and another Korean BBQ destination for the already heavily Korean saturated TST. Name of the game is Korean BBQ and one will get plenty of it coming here. I'm pleased to report the meat selection is indeed excellent with cuts of pork, chicken, seafood, and beef. It's not just a meat party, there are also a myriad of Korean classics from soondubu jigae (tofu stew) to mandoo dumplings and pajun pancakes. The variety is second to none and for those who are willing to pay a bit extra, more premium meat cuts / selections are also available. A key component for a great drunken night out: Beer is included. My favorite of all the meats is the beef ribs, which are boneless but contain chunks of fatty beef that is perfectly marbled. Pork belly is a nice thick cut as well, but still needs some of that sesame oil and pepper seasoning to make it pop. Other winners include the ox tongue, the "guangyang" grilled beef, and pork neck. Just thinking about all of this makes me hungry. I have to dedicate an entire paragraph to this, but they use the kind of metal grills that I've only experienced in Los Angeles and Seoul, with the cast iron sides for egg and cheese/sweet corn. A lot of the other AYCE Korean spots don't have these grills and the staff does a great job of swapping them out mid-meal whenever the smoke gets too overwhelming or when the surface is just plain dirty. Ventilation could use a little work and be prepared to smell like BBQ. The price of this meat party is as follows: Sunday - Thursday @ 5:30pm-9:30pm: $198 / @ 9:30pm till close: $168 Friday-Saturday @ 5:30pm-9:30pm: $218 / @ 9:30pm till close: $198 Due to the demand the staff will enforce the 2 hour service and request that people make reservations prior to arrival. BBQ doesn't begin until 5:30pm, so don't come here during lunch time expecting to grill it up. The lunch hour is a lot more somber, with a little less of the chaos and a small menu of easy noodle and soup dishes. They accept credit cards and there is a small semi-private area in the back. I'll certainly be back for more BBQ and likely for the later session with less people and cheaper prices.
