Originally we were confused how the menu worked and was going to get one plate each of the goose but the staff were like one dish is enough for the two of you haha. The roasted goose gets drizzled with some sort of peanut based sauce & comes with a sweet plum sauce on the side that accentuates the flavor of the goose. The skin was crispy and the meat was good. We're glad to have tried roasted goose in Hong Kong. Service was very kind despite our frazzled, confused tourist vibes haha. It looks very nice inside the restaurant, on the upscale vibes side. It looked more like a take out kind of place but we saw tables in the back and started to enter the shop, but the floor was so greasy, we were seriously thinking about making a 180° and skip this place. I don't know if it was the look on our faces or that we were a bit better dressed then the uncles in their white tanks with legs propped up on stools or what, but the kind lady proprietor suggested we eat at their "nicer atmosphere" dining room a few doors down. The dining room greeted us with nice A/C and floors our shoes had better grip on. The food is ordered here and they will prepare the soup, noodles, drinks, etc. but all the siu mei still comes over from the other shop. The roasted meats we're tender and tasty, no lie. I'd say even skip all those starchy fillers and go straight for the roasted proteins. The portions here are very generous and we felt a little guilty leaving some pieces uneaten. Hong Kong definitely has no shortage of siu me shops and I'm glad the tasties they offer remain classic and unchanged. Looking forward to finding new gems.

There was enough soup for four, which magically disappeared from our table for two. We cleaned every plate, and not because the servings were anything short of generous. For one, I was happy they noticed us struggling while making a mess trying to shell the shrimp, bringing us a knife and fork (and extra wet-wipes). Interesting to me, this was the first time we each had two sets of chopsticks. Thankfully, the internet quickly taught us that one set was for serving ourselves from the community plates, and the other for eating. Don't use the eating pair for serving or the serving pair for eating -- it is bad form, especially with COVID being so huge here. Note: they are happy to bring serving spoons, forks and knives if you ask (or appear hopeless). My other mistake, in addition to the shrimp peeling fiasco, was not tipping. When I saw the 10% service fee, and knowing tipping is totally optional and not expected in Hong Kong (and most of SE Asia), I still should have left a bit more, especially considering how helpful they were.

The goose is roasted to a golden color. You can order it whole, or half, or a quarter. It literally melts in your mouth and the meat is very tender and juicy; I'm sure you'd want to reach for another piece before you finish the one. If you are adventurous enough, try their goose intestines with soy sauce. I know it sounds gross but try it with open mind and you'll be surprised.
