If you want to eat like a local, come here. Prices are really cheap, and I heard they have afternoon tea specials. There is overflow seating that they will offer you (2 stores down they also own a vegetarian restaurant). For $35 HKD you will get a big plate of rice and meat. Don't expect the nicest cuts, but they are very well done and filling for the price. I was a particular fan of asking for half roasted pork and half duck rice. Very cheap and tasty! Stop by if you're around.

Dirty!!!! Didn't wash his hands after setting up the dirty carpet. Touches money and then cuts your food. Food was fatty, not crispy and not flavorful. So much fat in their goose, soy chicken was just normal. Price might be cheap, but will never recommend this place

Well, I came thru last year on business. I saw a long line was forming outside this fast food joint. I just had to make sure I tried it. You can so tell its a favorite by its locale populations. They only served Cantonese speakers, and yes, they are RUDE servers. Then again its their trademarks there. I have not been to any Cantonese Restaurants in Hong Kong that's not rude to the non-Cantonese patrons there. It is typical role they plays, But the food is delish, so I will make the exceptions to their curb attitudes. But I figure flying all this way to here, I had to tasted some of its authenticated dishes. This is as authenticate as it gets. Food is delicious! The stars is for the foods. As for the customer services there it gets a zero. I am but a person on a trip here.

This place has been around for ages and has never ceased to satisfy my siu mei cravings! My grandma would come here way back in the days and buy either an entire roasted duck or char siu from what I can recall whenever I spent the entire summer in HK back in my younger days. It is a complete hole-in-the-wall type of place and only has a few tables but don't let this scare you off. The food is legit and much better (and cheaper) than other places in town that serve up Cantonese style BBQ! Yes, everything is entirely in Chinese and I doubt anyone speaks English in here but just learn a few phrases and you'll be golden. Or just point at whatever fancies your taste buds and cross your fingers they'll get your order right. I recommend going with their 4 course combo (四寶飯), which typically comes with roasted duck, BBQ pork and soya chicken and a salted egg. If you're appetite isn't that big, you can probably share this with another person. The price is just around $30-ish HKD or so, which is cheaper than a beverage at some places! They'll also give you a soup to start off with (included with your meal). It'll prepare your belly for the tastiness that is to come! If you happen to be in the Jordan area and craving for some damn good BBQ meats, give this place a shot!

The food is good but the place is really old fashion. They are doing everything out of date. Hey speak English (a little). Eating here 1 time is good enough.

BBQ pork with hor fun (flat noodles). Only $20 during afternoon tea!
Maggie L.

I've walked by this shop many times on the way to the market, and there is ALWAYS a line to buy take away. I decided that I need to go in and try their BBQ. And boy am I sure glad I did. I ordered a BBQ pork and flat noodle soup (hor fun) off of their afternoon tea menu and it's probably one of the best deals I've gotten ($20). The portion is generous and, most importantly, the BBQ pork was perfect. The meat was tender, juicy and well marbled. The taste was just sweet enough, but not overbearing. The thing that made me decide to give this a 5 star rating was the surprise that the soup was actually not just a plain broth! It was a soup made with watercress that is usually serviced when you order rice. I also love the old traditional Hong Kong feel that this shop has. You can tell it has weathered many years of laughter and roasting. If you're in the Jordan area, definitely give this place a try.

Roast duck and BBQ pork with rice for HK$27

I can't believe you can get quality Cantonese roast meats at such a good price. I had a plate of roast duck and BBQ pork with rice for a mere HK$27. The duck was juicy and moist (though the skin wasn't particularly crispy - it's hard to get both at the same time, but if I have to pick I'll go with moist meat). The BBQ pork was thickly cut and had a satisfying meaty mouth feel. It wasn't too fatty or sweet as others I've had.

I don't know how I haven't reviewed them yet. I'd passed here many times and saw that there was always a line. One day, I decided to check it out and they have an afternoon tea special. $20 for noodles with a choice of one or two toppings. I had the BBQ pork and chicken. The chicken was fine, but oh, the BBQ pork was so good. Juicy an not too fat. The unique thing about the noodles is that they place the soup in a veggie soup that would usually be served on the side of a rice plate. Fine with me, it was all yummy. I went back for a second visit for roast pork and BBQ pork. Both. so. good. The BBQ pork was again very flavorful and perfect amount of fat. The roast pork had nice and crunchy skin. We ordered one plate of BBQ pork, one plate of roast pork and two bowls of rice, and got 3 complimentary bowls of soup for 3 of us. Total was $210. Can't wait to go back soon!

Exterior of the restaurant. Many people take out as well :)

Closed when we got there at 10pm. So we only got to enjoy the metal gate protecting the front door.

For those of you who don't know, it's made with Ceylon leaves, evaporated milk and sweetened condensed milk. The French toast was so damn delicious but a bit indulgent. I do wish I could taste more of the peanuts. My son loved his bolo bao. We also shared a hot bowl of macaroni soup with Spam and lettuce. Thinking back, I regret not trying the Spicy Satay Beef Instant Noodle. I will have to look for this back in the states. The aunties working here are just the most adorable, very kind and welcoming. Their popularity was at an all-time high just before the pandemic and has remained one of Sai Wan's most frequent local eateries. To no one's surprise, the seating and layout are not group friendly and it can be very cramped. Sharing tables is a big possibility, and I'd come here with no more than 3-4 folks. Waiting is a common past time here, so try to aim for a pre-noon arrival. Their stuffed toasts are legendary and are indeed the real deal. The salted egg yolk toast is fun to eat and film, but the taro custard (香芋流沙西多士) is next level good. The lava that flows from within makes this the ultimate dessert item, and should be on everyone's table. Their XO stir fried radish cubes (XO醬炒蘿蔔糕), along with the XO fried rice rolls (XO醬炒腸粉) are two of my favorite items. The dim sum items are fairly standard (especially the shrimp dumplings), but the shrimp stuffed rice rolls are very good. The shrimp toast is not my usual kind of order, but this place definitely specializes in it. The service is warm and very quick with everything: taking orders, bringing food, and getting the check. Prices are not back breaking but it's a little more expensive than other comparable places. Cash is king.

The owners aren't outright friendly, but are certainly warmer than your average cha chaan teng waiter in Hong Kong. The sesame shrimp toast is more delicious than it has any right to be - crisp exterior studded with toasted white sesame, these triangles give way to plump shrimp meat in the middle, and a cute little dish of Kewpie mayonnaise on the side. The signature egg yolk is fun to cut into - giving you some real insta-worthy yolk porn, but is definitely heavy, so consider sharing. But for me, what won my heart was a delicious take on a childhood favorite - radish cakes: Chau Kee's versions are cut up and fried, so that the crisp fry-exterior gives way to a tacky and soft interior. Flavors of shrimp and seafood are present from the XO sauce. The menu is in both Chinese and English and full of pictures, so it's also gweilo-friendly!

I'm down if it's good food! Located in a residential area, I wasn't really expecting too much honestly. But I heard good word about it so why not give it a shot? Wow, for a neighborhood restaurant, this place was bomb! I had some dishes where I never had elsewhere before! We started with the fried pomfret salad. I love the fried fish, juicy, tender and mildly sweet. I wasn't a fan of the salad dressing though. It was like the thousand island from a bottle from the grocery aisle. I wish they make a good dressing. My favorite plate-licking dish was the shrimp angel hair with pumpkin sauce. Pumpkin sauce!? Large, succulent and crunchy shrimp with fresh shredded veggies mixed in sweet and buttery pumpkin sauce. How can you not like that? The flavors were really good and I was going bite after bite until I finished it without even knowing! My second fav was the crispy chicken with apricots and honey mustard sauce served on on a plate of spaghetti and veggies. Honey mustard is my favorite, and to combine that with crispy chicken? What a great idea! The chicken came out crispy and hot and the meat was tender and juicy. Love this dish! We wrapped up our meal with the famous chocolate souffle. Dang! That was good! Piping hot, creamy, sweet, slightly crispy on the outside and fluffy inside like a snowball! We got the vanilla flavor too but I liked the chocolate one better. The lady owner was there last night and she was bubbly and socializing with all the customers. Friendly and good service overall. Seating was a bit tight so make sure you make a reservation ahead of time or come early. Not only Asians come here, I saw a couple of westerners too enjoying not so authentic but delicious western food!

It's brewed right up front using pantyhose as a strainer. Spring onion chicken over dry ramen noodles: The dish they are most known for. This was SO good after a night of drinking and mean whisky breath. The instant noodles are perfectly low-key and great for absorbing all the alcohol. The cafe inside is very small and crowded whether you go for breakfast or lunchtime. The space is very limited and if you consider yourself taller than the average person in Hong Kong, be very careful when moving through to sit or stand as there are various ceiling heights in the old building. Service is alright and efficient as most HK cha chaan tengs are expected to be however, I didn't like the attitude of one of the servers who brought out my table's meal as it was not what was ordered. She questioned our order and it was very clear that no one in my group ordered it, yet she insisted that we did. After a bit of back and forth, she decided to swap out the meal for the one we actually ordered. The food was A-OK, nothing particularly spectacular. The toasted and buttered bun was decent but didn't have enough butter not toasty char. The macaroni noodle soup was on the bland side. The hot dog and eggs were very typical. The best thing we had were the milk teas. Prices are very normal for Central but would be considered overpriced in other areas of HK. I'm not planning to make a return unless someone requests it specifically or if I only want to grab a milk tea to-go.
