In my tourist boom from lonely planet and from Anthony Bourdain, the place that's well known for roast goods in hong Kong was definitely hands down Joy Hing. However, from locals (my boyfriend's family), it seems to be this restaurant. Walking inside, it doesn't look big until they bring you upstairs. If you look around the walls, they are lined with Michelin guide plaques. From 2010-2017. Just wow right? What was more wow was their roast goose. Even for the regular size goose, it was served in a big platter, their skin glistening. The first bite was of their crunchy skin and yummy meatiness. The leg was simply heaven. And like my boyfriend asks, where's my lipitor? Of course, we didn't simply just get the duck, we had their calamari, a tofu dish with black bean sauce and scallops, a vegetable dish that was a bit spicy (ask for what's in season), and a bowl of lai fun(goes superbly with the goose). Just thinking about it again makes my mouth water. Overall, my first experience for roast goose was on point. Crispy skin, fat and meat. The other dishes were deliciois too but the star was the goose. The environment was also very family friendly with friendly waiters and waitresses serving food fresh out of the kitchen. Definitely visit if you are around.

Came here because it was rated as a michelin restaurant. Very attentive staff the again I was here when they barely opened. For some odd reason we were asked to sit by the entrance to the restaurant where as I continuously observed other patrons walk in and get to be seated in the back. Just kind of odd. Got a 1/4 goose, not many side dishes to choose from so we also got friend rice with minced beef. Hoose was bland, skin was not crunchy, lots of fat. Wasn't what I expected, therefore, below expectations. It is not cheap for premium goose. The bill came out to be $300 HK for two plates. Had to try for the experience, not willing to come back.

Signature goose. Not bad at al .

Best tasting goose in HK so far . Very attentive staff and nice set up. Negatives are small portions . Not much side dishes and no hot sos . Had to ask for it . Brought some low Q small hot sauce. It is not cheap for premium goose so better come with 3 friends and share a whole goose. $660 HK . Side dishes about $300 HK

This is far one of the best places to get roasted goose in Hong Kong. The goose meats melts in your mouth and you just can't stop eating. The service is great and they are quick to serve your order. The best is if you make a reservation before you come here otherwise it can take a while before you get a table.

#feasting on goose!

All I can say is wow! I could have eaten a whole goose by myself. I am also quite the fan of mango so my wife also ordered the mango, scallop, and shrimp fried goodness. All I read about this establishment was true. Yue Kee goose does not disappoint! I will definitely be putting this restaurant on my checklist of places to go each time I am in Hong Kong.

This restaurant was not in the city. One has to travel to get to this restaurant. I spent more than…read morean hour of commute to get there. It was not a fancy restaurant with elegant interior design. It was kind of like those street food stall and yet it offered outrageous dishes. Just ordered two dishes, half of a roasted goose and a dish of sprouts fried with authentic soy bean cubes and red pepper. The skin of the roasted goose was so crispy and crunchy, just like eating chips. There were a lot of meat under the skin. So delicious that I felt like I was out of the world. The sprouts were tasty too. I have never tasted such a delicious dish before. I can only say delicious! Delicious! Delicious!

The featured dish here is the goose. It's inconsistent IMO. Sometimes really good and sometimes so…read moreso. Other dishes are average in line with other HK restaurants in this category. They can be kind of surly. The manager used the F word in Cantonese on us when we couldn't decide to eat inside or outside. While that's local HK manners it's shocking for more cultured folks. There is a better goose reataurant down the street. Also for that they serve it's overpriced IMO. Went here again and large group of us were seated upstairs. There were large roaches running out from underneath the table. Place is not clean upstairs. Fortunately the food is cooked downstairs but frankly who knows what goes on at night when the lights are off at this place. Went here again at the request of others who wanted to eat outside. Food was the same. Clams with black bean sauce was particularly tasty this time though it was really high sodium even for black bean sauce. I am a glutton for punishment as we found a termite wing in one of the soup spoons.

Food: 2.5 stars Service/environment: 2 star Value: 2 stars I have eaten at the Kornhill location and the food at that restaurant is much better. We had a mixture of snacks and main courses: 1) the pan fried buns (生煎包) are characterized as their specialty. These are probably the worst version I have had. I had trouble finishing one. 2) the scallion pancake - this is good and I would recommend ordering it. 3) 小龙包 (soup dumplings) - this is below average. The meat and soup is lacking in flavour. 4) fried yellow fish- I recommend ordering. The fish are fried nicely and was tasty. 5) fried rice with shrimp- this is ok not bad but not great. 6) green beans with minced pork- above average. Taste is right but a little greasy 7) potstickers- average dish. The skin was pan fried correctly but the meat lacked proper flavoring. Similar issue to the soup dumpling. My bill also included an item I didn't order. I don't think this was done on purpose but this definitely affected my perception of the service.

It cost us around $300 and I don't think it is that worth. If you are trying to have a Shanghainese food I really don't recommend this restaurant. P.S The one star is for the Service I've received.
