Excellently prepared dim sum in a high end restaurant is the name of the game at Duddell's. Service is very polished and the atmosphere is clearly high end. Great champagne and other adult beverages are on offer, but sadly the polish makes the dim sum experience a bit soulless. So very good, but not the earth shattering experience that it could be.

Hard to find but worth the hunt. Bottomless Veuve Cliquot champagne, Peking duck carving station in the dining room, reasonable portions so that you can try many things from their all you can eat dim sum menu. The dim sum menu is modest, but we'll executed. Peking duck was my favorite, and I also liked the pork puffs and the crispy eggplant. Other cocktails on the menu we're too sweet for me, but very pretty. I would go back!

    The sublime crispy pork!

Very much enjoyed our dinner here. The restaurant is less 'Michelin-y' than expected, which was actually welcome. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and made the meal highly enjoyable. The wine list was extensive, and the Sommelier was very knowledgeable and engaged. The menu is, as you'd expect, very imaginative. I especially liked the crispy pork skin, and the fatty pork was the best I'd ever had (after 2 years living in Shanghai, I consider myself a 'connoisseur' of it), and the poached chicken with crispy skin was sublime! We were absolutely stuffed at the end! As others have said, it is very expensive. I felt that it was worth it, though. Go, you'll enjoy it!

I've been going to Duddell's since it first opened last year for a variety of things - cocktails on the terrace, lunches, dinners... you name it. Recently I even brought a friend in to check out a new Chinese exhibition that is on upstairs called Aftermath: Post Sense Sensibility. My favourite piece is an installation made of tiles that has actually been taken from a penguin enclosure in China. They change the exhibitions four times a year and they are definitely worth a peek. Today I tried some of the brand new dim sum items on the lunch menu including the Shrimp Dumpling with Water Chestnut, Lobster Dumpling with Scallop and Capsicum, Egg White Dumpling with Shrimp and Caviar and the Pumpkin Dumpling with Morel Mushroom. It was all AMAZING but my top choice was the Shrimp which was speckled with what I think was coriander. So good! I couldn't miss out on my usual favourite, the Fried Rice Roll with XO Chili Sauce... and of course added lashings of the XO sauce (the best in town) to everything. I have had dinner snacks and drinks upstairs in The Salon before but never lunch which I usually take in the bright and airy dining room. I have to say I quite liked having lunch upstairs - it felt more casual and as it was a sunny day, it was nice looking out over the terrace. Speaking of the terrace, it's one of the best al fresco spots in the city. Off the back of my lunch I booked in for after work drinks next week with two girlfriends. My favourite cocktail is the Straits Sling which looks deceptively like iced tea but is actually a really light, fruity cocktail. I also can't get enough of Duddell's signature bar snack - the crispy fish skin which sounds gross, but is delicious. Peanuts are sooooo 2013. Duddell's has a Michelin star so it's not cheap but it's worth every penny in my opinion. The service is impeccable and you can tailor your experience according to your personal tastes. Eat downstairs for a more formal a la carte occasion or kick back with friends on the upper level. Next I'll be checking out their free flow champagne brunch - dim sum and bubbles sounds pretty perfect to me.

    Gawd... They keep refilling

It is a michelin 2 stars restaurant. I went to the Weekend brunch and ... man did I say I am drowned by the free-flow/bottomless champagne. URMENGURHHH.. anyways, staff are lovely and quick in refilling. With the flow of alcohol working their ways up to my brain, I generally feel the place is "AWEEESOOOME". It is a Chinese cuisine restaurant. Dim sum comes in very small quantity per dish, which allow people to drink more and talk more, and still with something to soak up the alcohol. But then, it is all you can eat on the weekend brunch deal, so if you are hungry, just keep them coming. They taste quite nice, my favourite will be the ... cha siu? BBQ pork, the sweeet corn soup is standard, nothing really special. i do really like the design though, 2 storeys, with the second floor a patio outside, I can imagine eating out on a sunny day and getting soaked by the sunlight. Yummmm.

Too overpriced for much of the dim sum. However, the crispy pork skin was the winning dish here. Crunchy and crisp and sold out in an hour. We wanted to order a second round but they were sold out. Chashu pork was also very delicious with sweet beans on the side. Crispy chicken was a bit too salty even without the salt. Spring rolls are actually egg rolls. Can pass. Shrimp balls. No go. Chashu bun. Can pass. Shumai and scallop topped ha kow both with caviar. Good but money money money LoL. Melon pastry.  Teeny tiny but a nice bite. Mango pudding ? Mmmm not bad. Just say yes.

I think this place was good, but there's some hit or miss dishes. We ordered pretty much most of the dim sum dishes since the portion is very little. Their bbq pork bun was off and their beef steam rice roll's meat was very chewy (not eatable) Aside from that I felt the rest of the dishes are really good and unique. It definitely had a twist to it compared to the traditional Cantonese dim sum place. I was surprised they this place was granted with 2 Michelin stars. It was good but it's not a 5 star restaurant in my book. It's not even about the cost per dish either - I thought price was fair for good food. But I didn't get the wow factor.

Came here with my college friends and the alumni director for dinner during her visit to HK on a Friday evening. I made the reservation ahead of time and they called to confirm our booking, as well as let us know that dietary restrictions can be accommodated. The decor and ambiance are great. Though one shouldn't expect anything less as it Duddell's is a 1 Michelin Star restaurant and certainly comes with a price tag. Unfortunately, the most exciting about the whole experience is their drink list. They have quite a selection of unique cocktails that I did enjoy and would go back for. However, I'm giving this place 2 stars because the taste of the food is just mediocre at best, and one of the dishes that they claim is vegetarian definitely had chicken stock. As a vegetarian, I could smell the chicken stock and didn't feel like it was actually vegetarian. One of my friends, who eats meat, also had a whiff of the veg dish and also said it was not vegetarian. Somehow, they still kept trying to tell us it's vegetarian... They agreed to make a new dish, something different, but that dish also didn't taste veg... So I'm definitely a bit skeptical of their food, not only does it not really taste good, but also not completely vegetarian I'd have to say. Verdict being that I definitely wouldn't come here again for their food. Service was good, very attentive staff, but again 1) food didn't taste that good and 2) can't really seem to trust their food to be veg either. I would have hoped a 1 Michelin Star restaurant would be more cautious about that. However, would certainly come back for drinks!

I dined here for a Power Lunch with a client. Nice atmosphere, elegant yet understated. Everyone is well dressed, gents in suits, ladies well heeled and tasteful. Menu is wonderful. I had the Dim Sum and enjoyed all of it-- particularly the Mushroom truffle dumplings. Also the rolled chicks with asparagus spears and bamboo pith was great. For desert I had the egg custard which was truly excellent. Service is top notch. Pricey but worth it if you like to feel good, enjoy life, or impress a client.

Not worth it for the price. Everything was good, but nothing stood out. You're better off doing the all you can eat option for brunch.

I went for dinner and as I was solo, I opted for their prix fixe set menu- the "premium" set. In my opinion, the food was lacking in taste and quality despite the high price. Maybe I should have ordered individual dishes, but even their signature baked crab dish was too creamy and salty. Service was also lacking in my mind. The waiters seemed unenthusiastic and often would place the next dish without a word or a simple phrase like "dessert" without any additional comments or explanation... and often had a tense or unfriendly expression. It was also difficult to get their attention as they were often times hard to locate. Yes this is Hong Kong, but this is not a cha chaan teng, and i guess I expected a bit more quality in service and food from a former michelin starred restaurant.

The service here was top notch the best we had while visiting. I am so glad we had an opportunity to dine here. I do recommend you make a reservation. We tried to dine there again on our last day but everything was booked. They were able to fit us at 11:45 and even allowed us to order the Peking duck with no advanced notice. You must do so 24 goes in advance. Unfortunately the time did not work well for us so we cancelled the last minute reservation. We had their crispy half chicken the best I had while in HK. I ordered this dish everywhere! The Golden Leaf's was crispiest and the skin looked like glass! While the chicken was still very juicy! The mixed fried rice delicious! Our waiter was very sweet as they were almost closing getting ready for dinner dining offered us some more rice they had. I was too full but my fiancée was very happy to accept some more. With the youngest Executive Chef at a 5-Star Hotel and the fastest Chinese restaurant to obtain 1-Michelin Star in Hong Kong, Man Ho has become one of the hardest local restaurants to make bookings. Sauce is often the soul of French cuisine; surprisingly, it is also the case for the Chinese food served at Man Ho. You do not have to dip your dim sum with sauce because the sauce is within the wraps. While my friend is not a vegetarian, she falls in love with the steamed porcini mushroom dumplings that have the delicate flavor of Chinese soy sauce. Deep-fried spring rolls with minced Wagyu beef, onion and black pepper is the highlight of the meal. My friend and I are so impressed by the exterior crunchiness of the spring roll, the interior butteriness of the beef and the highlight of the Wasabi sauce within the roll. Nonetheless, we are disappointed by the barbecued duroc pork loin with honey sauce. Ideally in HK, char siu is smoked at a lychee wood oven. However, the char siu at Man Ho is cooked at an electronic oven, leading to the lack of crispy exterior. Overall, I highly recommend dim sum, especially fried food, over main dishes at Man Ho Chinese Restaurant. #ThankyouThursday
