Left over duck fried rice - delish
Karen Y.

Mott 22 The name comes from 22 Mott Street in NYC Chinatown... honestly I don't remember if there is a building call 22 Mott... Well, they are a Michelin star restaurant... so the ambience is nice, a little dark... it's almost like eating inside a bank vault. lol Came for lunch, had a few dim sum, way too fancy (my kids says), had their roast pork (it was delicious), and their Peking Duck... it's good, but too fatty for me. My kids enjoyed the lunch... we wish it was less stuffy. What we enjoyed the most was the left over duck repurpose to make fried rice - that was amazing! Service was top notch - of course! No need to fight for bill - just wink at the waiter and sneak it out. Done.

Reserve the Peking duck AND the Iberico pork when making reservations!!! These two dishes are an absolute must! Service paralleled the ambiance, every dish a delight! Seems to cater to a hipper younger clientele with its dark moody setting and music (played at a level where conversations can still be heard, almost) but with the foods before you that all becomes moot. Would make this trip again.

Best Peking Duck in Hong Kong

Once you find the secret entrance, be prepared to indulge in some of Hong Kong's best menu items. Ambience: modern comfort with a vibrant flare. Food: if you don't order their Peking Duck (in advance) you're not a certifiable foodie. Order a few additional dishes for tapas, and their cocktails and wines are noteworthy. Service: very attentive without you knowing that the servers were at your table. This is THE PLACE to go!

Housed in a business building so make sure you have the address. Reservations are a good idea. You descend an escalator and transported into a serene dining environment. If decor and service translates into a restaurant for Westerners, I'll take it. Simple traditional dishes in a stylish setting. Xiao lung bao had a nice thin skin and juicy tasty meat filling. The egg white shrimp chow mein surprised me in a good way with its varying textures. The shrimp was bouncy and sweet. The char siu looked amazing but something was off with the texture. Either they sous vide the meat or over marinated it. One of my better dining experiences in HK.

The duck and the jamon Serrano was absolutely spectacular. Super cool vibes going into the underground. The service was great. Lots of food and nice portions. The dessert was spectacular .

This may be the very best Peking duck I've ever had and as my review history shows, I've tried a lot! The duck is served in 3 parts. The first is just the crispy skin with some sugar. The skin is super crispy and flaky. The second part is the typical duck with pancakes. It's very good but probably on par with what I've had previously (but still great). The final part is pieces of duck mixed in with either rice or lettuce (I took the lettuce). This was my favorite as the duck was mixed in with various spices and veggies to make it both warm, inviting and so flavorful. Just amazing! We also ordered the barbecue iberico pork which was also the best pork I've ever had. Super tender and also full of flavors. Both dishes are their signatures and absolutely worth ordering. If you have any room left, also order the crab claw white dumplings. Amazing meal and worth a visit.

It's a Michelin Star restaurant. Need I say more? While in HK, last month (May 2023), my girl friends and I were able to secure a dinner reservation for 7 ppl. The food and service did not disappoint. Our group ordered 7 dishes and outmost favorite is the Peking duck! Food, service, and ambiance are exquisite! It's a true Michelin Star dining experience! Dined in Mott 32 located in the basement of Standard Chartered Bank Building in Central Hong Kong

The first time I came to Mott I wasn't particularly blown away by the food but was impressed by the interior design and service. Three years later I made my second visit and had a fuller experience this time around. The food was creative, tasty and the presentation was impressive. Food: 4.25 stars Atmosphere: 4.75 stars Service: 4.5 stars Recommendations: iberico pork char siu, fried lobster with olive leaf, dim sum, garoupa soup, crispy pork belly The char siu and the Peking duck are what Mott is most known for. I can attest to the quality of the char siu. The quality and texture of the meat is definitely too notch and this is one of the better versions in the city. The dim sum here is also really good and I would definitely come here for dim sum. They have their own take on some of the classics which may not be the choice of the die hard traditionalists but for me I really enjoy the creativity. The fried lobster with olive leaf was also a real winner. First time I have had this type of preparation and really thought it was great.

Upon walking into the building, head straight up to the left. There is a Mott32 kiosk where the reception will lead you downstairs into the restaurant. The interior is swanky and dimly lit with one side providing a view into their duck roasting oven. Service leaves something to be desired here as it was brisk and not friendly which is not what you expect for this price level. We had The Chairman the prior day and the service was night and day. As suggested when booking our reservation we made the requested duck/pork pre-orders. Barbecue Pluma Iberico Pork, Yellow Mountain Honey (limited daily) - Melt in your mouth with just the right amount of sweetness Apple Wood Roasted 42 Days Peking Duck "Signature Mott 32 cut" (pre order 1 day in advance) (limited daily) - Crisp skin, possibly more crisp than some other places but overall was not over the top impressed. I did not like the thickness of the pancakes, could have been thinner Japanese Pumpkin, Salty Egg - Crispy with just the right amount of salty egg. I could have done with slightly less batte Sautéed String Beans, Diced Wagyu Beef - Tasty and flavorful Fried Rice, Diced Prawn, Iberico Pork, Asparagus in Yeung Chow Style - Nothing special

Iberico Pork Char siu!

AMAZING duck and AMAZING char siu! The venue is so modern and chic. You can see that the duck is perfectly golden brown on the outside. It's CRISPY, locking in the fat and the juice. Underneath that is a layer of fat and then juicy duck meat. GREAT atmosphere and GREAT duck. I still think Sha Tin 18 is the best in town for duck but Mott is right there. This place has the YUMMIEST Iberico Pork Char siu! Seriously it was to die for! Its intricate marbling highlights the sweetness of the fat, influenced by the Iberian pig's well-known diet! Remember to pre order the char siu or you'll be disappointed! Peking Duck

What a great first experience in HongKong. The location was such a mystery, the ambiance was very romantic and the highlight was the Peking Duck. The service was exceptional and I highly recommend this Michelin star restaurant.

Even the entrance is extraordinary. Escalators take you down to their staircase which is beautifully designed and makes you feel like you're stepping into a secret cave. The inside is dimly lit and gives off this slightly nautical adventure feeling and you just know you're in for a great experience. As expected, the food was absolutely incredible. We called ahead for the Peking duck, which is an entire presentation in itself. We also had a beautifully presented fish, with meat tenderly slipped off the bone (easy to eat) and a few dimsum selections as an appetizer. We decided on a wine selection suggested by the sommelier. She took our price window request seriously as well as paired it well with the choices we had ordered.

This place was Cary R pick based on ratings on both yelp and trip advisor. It was a bit of a rainy day and we headed over in an Uber. It's in a office building. The entrance is on the first floor, but the restaurant is in the basement. We were greeted by an Englishman and was escorted to the seating area a few flight of stairs down. After we were seated, our wait staff was prompt and had great recommendation. We ordered a few stir fry veggies and the crispy chicken and the Asian bbq pork. All of the food was delicious. The duck needs to be ordered 3 days in advance. And is very traditional. Either way we had a great dining experience.

Definitely must have suckling pig here.

Fuk Loi Kui? F that. It's not what you think it is…read more It's the Cantonese pronounciation of the restaurant 福來居, but to make it more confusing it has another name embedded in as 福來居(牛記)海鮮飯店 (Ngau Kee) Seafood Restaurant. There's something about this place that gives me a "je ne sais quoi" kind of vibe. And that is, there is some intangible quantity and quality, that really makes this place totally awesome, provided you have the right minded set of dining companions with you, who share a love of great no nonsense local food. If you want killer stir fry in the hood kind of eats, with a decent seafood selection that is not entirely off the wall expensive, yet full of local flavor, FLK is a very sound choice. It is within very easy walking distance from Prince Edward MTR station, and is very near the roasties shop famous for roast crispy skin pig (still using charcoal) 永合隆飯店 Wing Hap Lung Restaurant. Started off with a bottle of ice cold Tsing Tao. I forgot how large the bottles in Hong Kong are. The Tsing Tao's in the states at Chinese restaurants are generally dwarf size bottles in comparison. So if you have 4 or more in your party, one bottle is good to start. They chill the glasses, a little extra attention to detail to make your "Cantonese izakaya" experience better. Too many good things on the menu, FLK has this dai pai dong esque vibe, and while it is indoors, the atmosphere and food is close enough that you can have an awesome time in here. 豉油王煎中蝦 - soy sauce supreme (Maggi) pan fried medium prawns. Incredible umami and flavor, but where are the heads?? Even the shells can be eaten! 薑蔥桶蠔 - ginger scallion stir fried oysters. A touch oily, but these are to be expected. Really awesome otherwise! Oysters are either from Canada or United States. 清蒸瓜子斑 - steamed melonseed grouper (wild fish). We arrived close to 8 pm, and by then the seafood selection from the styrofoam tanks were dwindling. At most maybe 3 to 4 kinds of live fish, and this melonseed grouper 瓜子斑 is certainly not a cheap specimen....but cheaper than having a kinki shioyaki at a local Japanese eatery! An extremely solid choice, well executed. The flesh came off the bones with ease. This is why when you travel to HK, eating fresh seafood is a must. It's a far cry from the farmed American fish at Cantonese restaurants in the USA. 上湯蒜子大豆苗 - large pea sprout with garlic in superior broth. Really hard to go wrong with this prep. Stir frying uses more oil, so this approach is healthier. 豉油王炒麵 - soy sauce supreme stir fried noodles. Haha back to stir frying because we want to equalize the guilt! When having seafood like this, ending the meal with a killer plate of carbs is a must, and soy sauce supreme noodles 豉油王炒麵 is a solid choice. It is also perhaps the de facto method of testing wok hay (the other tester dish is beef chow fun, but we're at a seafood restaurant). This rendition is very solid and intense. It's a touch on the dry side which is what I prefer. Oh, I believe they stock Yu Kwen Yick chili sauce, so you can ask for a little bit to make the noodle experience jump a few notches. Fruit platter for dessert (included in the meal), which was an extremely nice touch. Watermelon, pineapple, and papaya. Refreshing even on a mildly chilly January evening. Great food that soothes and satisfies. Even recommended by local celebrity Chef Leung of Hoi King Heen on his FB page!

They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large. I was most certainly full upon completion of this meal though haha.

We tried their har gow, siu mai, baked BBQ pork buns, shrimp rice rolls, deep fried pork dumplings, and deep fried shrimp wonton. That wok hei (the breath of the wok) is what makes each of these dishes stand out. I was so impressed with how fast the food came to the table. They've lost the charm of a dai pai dong after they got famous. They have way too many servers that stand around and not look out for customers who waive them down.
