This place right next to Fortress Hill MTR is worth the hype and the line I think. When we went it was after 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and the line was very short. They accommodated 5 of us by seating 3 first, then letting two more sit when rest of party at table left. Yes you share tables. We had the regular beef brisket soup noodles and Dan Dan tendon. Both are really excellent in different ways. The regular broth is very clear but still very tasty. The brisket is really tender. Regular comes with ho fun which is done well. I think ju favourite is the Dan Dan noodles. The flavour is amazing. A slight kick. I couldn't have enough of that. The radish is also amazing btw and at HK$20 amazingly cheap. Worth the wait and the Michelin.

Curry beef brisket with noodle soup

Umpteenth visit and I never get sick of this place, yes it's now more touristy but the beef brisket noodle soup is out of this world. Tried something different this time: curry beef brisket, it's served on a separate plate from the noodle soup. The curry beef was absolutely heavenly: succulent and melts in the mouth. Curry flavor was perfectly hK: great balanced flavor without the strong seasoning of Indian curry or the sourness of Thai curries. I devoured everything, FYI you can also add a side of white rice (10 HKD) to mop up the curry juice. Wish I knew before I paid the bill.

We hadn't been here for a while, so we decided to pick up two takeout orders of beef brisket before heading to a dinner gathering. When I saw the price at HK$160 for one order, I was shocked. It better be way better than I remembered! Unfortunately, it turned out worse than before. The one I found in Shatin is ten times better and costs only HK$100 per order. The portion there is twice the size and even comes with a few pieces of tasty daikon. Thinking about it now just makes me regret walking all the way to this place. I honestly wouldn't recommend it anymore. It used to be good, but now it just feels overpriced and overrated. The only good part of this visit was discovering a newly opened black sesame dessert shop right next door. We bought two desserts to go, freshly made and piping hot. For an extra HK$10, we added a small cup of black sesame ice cream, and it was an instant 20 out of 10. The desserts turned out to be a huge hit at dinner too. I later heard that this place is already quite well-known in Hong Kong. I guess their new Causeway Bay location just opened, so we were lucky to come across it.

I've seen all the hype and good reviews, so decided to give it a try, especially it's right next to the famous sesame dessert shop. We came around 8pm on weekdays so the queue was short. It took about 10 minutes to get seated. We didn't have to share table with strangers. We ordered a soup noodle in clear broth and a dry noodle bowl. Both with the beef trio- beef brisket, tendon and tribe. I also ordered a side of fish balls. We paid total $260 HKD, which was double than other shop that I've been to in HK. The noodle soup came first pretty quickly, but I waited for another 10 minutes for my dry noodles. The broth was really tasty. Beef brisket and tribe were tender. The fish ball was soft, bouncy not fishy but I actually had it better elsewhere. I personally liked the dry noodles more than the soup version. Staffs speak English pretty well, and they also have English menu. I'd say the beef brisket here was pretty good, but I would skip if the wait is more than 30 minutes.

One of the famous clear beef broth soup with stews located at HOng Kong Island "Tin Hau" area. They always open at 11am, but it's always a long queue before, so I almost had no seat to eat there when I got there at 11am!! My friend n me ordered two clear beef broth stews soup rice noodles, but I ordered certain tendon parts from beef stews. I think my order was tasting n delicious, good rice noodles, beef stews tendon was juicy enough and broth was clear n tasty!! My friend ordered a regular beef stews soup with rice noodles, regular one was too chewy not too tendon... Overall, it tasted good enough n delicious, Sister Wah - clear beef broth soup attract all over Chinese from China and Western European and American, other Asian countries like Japanese n Korean too!!! It's pack n busy for the whole 10-12 hours per day!!! Make the ownership really rich by opening a noodles soup in a good location in HK island!!

Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan)

Very good - but also very expensive for what it is. Sister Wah specializes in "clear broth beef brisket" that melts in your mouth, and together with rice noodles (hor fun)... it is mmm mmm mmm good. But this tasty bowl also comes with a hefty price tag of $100 HKD. About double the price of what a typical beef brisket bowl of noodles would cost you in HK. This place is Michelin recommended and there's always a line. We arrived at 10pm and saw that there's only 3pp ahead of us, so we seized the opportunity and got in the line, and were seated after 5-10 of waiting. Between the 3 of us, we ordered a few dishes: 1.) Beef brisket combo rice noodles: excellent in taste. You can also slurp up all the soup ... the brisket melts in your mouth and it is really excellent. 2.) Beef brisket combo egg noodles - briskets are just as good, and their egg noodles are crunchy and very good as well 3.) Soy Bean Drink: Excellent and it's home made! Full of soy bean taste and the sweetness is just right. We tried both the hot and cold and I would recommend the cold 4.) Daikon in soup - very good and tasty. And, drink the soup too! 5.) Chinese Broccoli (Gai Lan): braised in the beef broth, very tasty and cooked just right 6.) Won ton in spicy oil - we wanted to try their wonton too, so ordered a side dish. Their wonton is also very good but pales compared to their beef brisket. Worth to try at least once Overall rather comfy seating for HK standard. Food is very good with expected HK-style super fast and efficient service. Only complaint is the rather expensive price... The total came to a whopping $500HKD for a very 'regular', very very casual meal. :/

Dan Dan Noodle with Beef Brisket

This was the best food I had during my entire trip to Hong Kong (including a Michelin star restaurant). This place is a hole-in-the-wall with very limited seating. You will share a table with strangers for sure. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodle with Beef Brisket and it was excellent. I'm not a big fan of tendon and there was a small amount attached to it, but the meat itself was delicious and tender. This place will be on my must-haves every time I'm in Hong Kong now.

AMAZING MICHELIN SPOT!!! The noodles and beef brisket are to die for! You must come here. They are famous for their beef brisket noodles! The beef brisket is very thin and nice. The menu has English as well, & server speaks English. We got the Dan Dan noodles and were extremely happy. It's a small shop but the turnover with seats is fast. Get there right when they open (11am) to avoid a line. It's so good that there is always a line once lunch time comes. I'd highly recommend it

Been 4 years since I've been here & I'm back visiting HK & decided to stop by cause I'm in the neighborhood. Yup. Just like I remembered it. Tastes great & prices haven't changed. The only thing that's different is that there are a bunch of Michelin "mention" placards on the wall. I think it means the restaurant can be found in the Michelin guide.

Sister Wah may have passed the ladle, but the beefy legacy lives on. Sister Wah might not be behind the counter anymore, but her sons are holding it down like proud beefy guardians of her brisket empire. I stopped by to pay my respects (and by "respects," I mean "slurp down a bowl of her famous brisket noodles").The signature beef brisket in clear soup? A total flavor bomb--but, like, a refined one. The broth was herby, clean, and comforting, like getting a hug from an auntie who also moonlights as an herbalist. The beef? Tender, juicy, practically melting into the broth like it had nowhere else to be.Now, let's talk noodles. I went with the rice noodles, and... eh. They were fine. Slippery little guys, but they lacked the chew I was craving. It's like inviting a friend to the party who shows up but doesn't really dance, ya know? But plot twist: I also ordered a side of wontons, and those low-key stole the show. Plump, juicy, packed with flavor--basically the Beyoncé of the meal. Honestly, I liked them more than the main 三寶 noodle dish I ordered. Don't tell the brisket.Overall: 10/10 for the broth and brisket, 8/10 for the noodles, and a surprise MVP performance from the humble wonton. Would I go back? Absolutely. But next time, I'm bringing a friend so I can "share" their noodles and eat all the wontons myself.

Noodle texture was good but soup was a bit salty. Beef tendon was tender but some parts a bit chewy. Good to stop by if you're in the neighborhood, but don't go out of your way

Beef Brisket Noodle Soup ($45 HKD / $6 USD)

When I first visited Hong Kong several years ago, I was too afraid to dine at a lot of local joints since I was traveling by myself and didn't know any Cantonese aside from simple greetings. But, on my recent trip to "Asia's World City" to eat and pray (but not love), I gathered my courage and did what I hadn't done last time: enter Sister Wah, a bustling hole in the wall noodle shop just outside of Tin Hau station. As other reviews have mentioned, Sister Wah is notable for its brisket noodle soup ($45 HKD or $6 USD). I ordered the brisket noodle soup with egg noodles, and was thoroughly pleased with my choice. (For all noodle dishes, you have the option of ordering egg noodle or rice noodles.) Although the egg noodles and beef broth were fine, the beef brisket was definitely the star of the show! The kitchen had seemingly done the impossible: cook a consistently good, amazingly tender piece of meat! Portions are on the smaller side, but still more substantial than other wonton noodle shops, like Mak's Noodle. It's relatively easy to negotiate the restaurant even though the language barrier might initially seem off-putting: there is an English menu available and at least one of the staff speaks English. As with many smaller restaurants in Hong Kong, you will likely be sharing your table with random people. While this doesn't lend itself to comfort, it does make for interesting dining experiences. I shared a small table with a pair of elderly locals who were amused by the waiter's description of the noodles as "fat" or "skinny." P.S. Early bird gets the worm! The restaurant typically has a line during prime mealtimes, but I didn't have to wait in the middle of the afternoon.

The dishes get ready very quickly, and the taste is really good. The waiters record our order and the corresponding price accurately.

We met friends for dinner and actually went to the wrong restaurant, for there is another Star of Canton just up the street at I Square too and we went there by accident. This restaurant has an expansive and striking view of the harbor, high ceilings, big glassy chandeliers and is very spacious. There is a stage and so much room that it seems like the appropriate spot to have a banquet or wedding. It is one of those large Chinese restaurants that serves a lot of people and thus the soft goods (carpet, chairs, linens, etc) seem warn and need updating. Although I did not do the ordering and did not pay the bill, in addition to special orders of hairy crabs at an additional cost, we had a set dinner with like 7 courses for around $400HKD (which seemed like a great value, knowing all the delicious food we had). The set included their highlighted dish of Braised Whole Japanese Oma Abalone, in addition to marinated sea cucumbers, shrimp, sticky rice, a great soup with bean curd on top and although small and at the very end, a seasame rice ball that was really spectacular & a party in your mouth. Found in 1998, Star of Canton insists the tradition of the canton dishes with less oil, less salt, no MSG and no artificial colour. I like that and it is a niche in a sea of Chinese restaurant options. We had a good experience and liked the ambiance of the place, so we would reccomend and absolutely go back.

We did not know it was a 2 star Michelin restaurant, and I was a bit apprehensive at the beginning, because we did not want to spend too much money on food on this trip. Upon our request, we were seated right in front of the Harbour view and were able to see the light show that start around 8pm. The most beautiful view of HK at night! We opted not to order the duck, which needs to be ordered 24 hour in advance and although I am sure quite delicious is quite pricy (HK$1,438+10%). Reservation in this place is a must! Highlights were the Wok-fried Wagyu with Green Peppers, Mushrooms and Garlic, Wok-seared Chicken Fillet with Lemon Sauce The server was so kind as to give us half servings so we could "sample" some of the more expensive items, add fried rice for substitution with the meat dishes and free desert. This flexibility in providing half portion and substitution is something i've rarely experience in a Michelin restaurant. Overall, we payed $US240 (1,900 Hong Kong Dollar) which includes the 10% service charge for two people for a michelin 2 star restaurant for an unforgettable meal! If I return to HK, I will definitely come back and try their dim sum.
