Would have wanted to return the next day but we opted to try other HK breakfast spots in the area to compare.

Their menu offers a very good deal for breakfast sets at a good price considering the individual items would total more. The food comes very fast, and service is very prompt with getting your order and the bill as you can treat this place as more of a quick meal rather than dining. The portion of food is fairly big and I could never finish everything myself. Generally I find most of the dishes are pretty flavorful, but the must have is the traditional Hong Kong milk tea. There is a good taste of tea behind which makes it pretty rich tasting. However, for the cold version, I find it a bit sweeter. We are usually very full and yet don't need to hurt our wallets too much haha.

Pandan egg tart was chewy not an overwhelming pandan taste. Popped in for breakfast today because I saw a photo of a pineapple bun egg sandwich and they said it's only at lunch time...so I ordered it all separately and it was SO good. The eggs were runny and so seasoned, the bun was soft and crispy but not like crumbs everywhere. Also got the sumiyaki coffee which was recommended and it's super bitter. Overall a very nice start to the day. Service is friendly and quick.

Food wise, they serve your favourite HK cafe classics for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The restaurant also has a take out area where you can purchase their baked items as well. The place is popular and can get busy at times where you do need to share tables with other strangers (which is a super normal thing in HK). My party of 3 and I stopped by Lucky Star on a Sunday morning around 8am. The place was surprisingly busy but we were able to grab a table right away. You order via QR code and pay at the cashier afterwards once you are finished. The walls had really nice photographs of HK (from IGers I actually follow on Instagram!). All of us opted to get breakfast sets which include a noodle dish, pastry, and drink (as well as scrambled eggs and toast). Food came quickly and I enjoyed my pickled veggie and pork instant noodles as well as the pineapple bun which was hot and fresh. The milk tea tasted great and had a strong tea flavour. Overall, great place for HK style breakfast in the Causeway Bay area! I can see why this place is popular!

The menu is simple and they've got most of the must-haves at dessert shops. They have a minimum spend per person if you are dining in, so beware if your group has a person who doesn't do sweet soups. The worst thing (or best thing) that could happen is you eat one for them. The tongsui we ordered were all very basic and while they were delicious, I couldn't tell if they were better or higher quality ingredients compared to other shops across Hong Kong. If I were to be in the area and wanting tongsui, then sure why not. But I am unsure if I would purposely take the train and walk here.

I was pretty much ignored the whole time I was there. I must say that it was standing room only, so obviously it's popular with the local crowd. Each bun was wrapped in plastic, but was so extremely heavy. How could a bun be so heavy? Opening it and taking a bite - it's like chewy raw dough. I'm not sure if it was really raw, but that's what it felt like. I couldn't finish it. I didn't even want to take a second bite, really. I'm actually very surprised at the good reviews on the bun here. Its one of the few times that Google reviews are more fair and accurate than Yelp reviews for me. Don't trust the lists!!!!!!!!!!!! But when a person of Chinese/Taiwanese descent who loves to eat is roaming around HK? Everything looks amazing. My travel partner and I decided to try this place because... well? it was busy. SUPER BUSY. At least 15-20 people waiting outside while other restaurants sat mostly empty. Plus, I couldn't really go by my usual rating system for an Asian restaurant (e.g., the ratio of Asian to non-Asian folks eating inside) since pretty much EVERYONE was Asian. I ordered the beef noodle soup because it's a familiar staple. The noodles were clearly not from a box and tasted pretty fresh, with a bit of a bite/chew to them. The beef was tender, and the broth was flavorful. I wish it had more veggies though! I also ordered a royal milk boba tea because I wanted one, ok? It was fresh, delicately flavored, and the boba had great consistency. I also loved that I didn't have to order it half sweet like I prefer in the USA. I wish the system to ask for a table was a bit more user friendly for folks who do not speak/read Chinese. There is a computer/touch screen outside where you are supposed to enter in the number of people in your party. I had to ask for help and the waitress pushed some buttons and handed me a slip of paper. From the little I do read, I was able to deduce that you are assigned to a letter (A, B, C, D) which indicates the table top size you requested (1-2 ppl, 3-4 ppl, etc) and you have to watch the screen for your letter number combo on your slip of paper to be called. If I were in HK again, and shopping in Langham, I would not hesitate to eat here again!!
