Everything here is fantastic! There is always a long wait, but the system is pretty efficient and I like how they have different waiting queues for different party sizes. We only had to wait around 15 minutes before getting seated for our party of 7. I got the mung bean black sesame soup and added the sesame balls to it, and it was great! The mung beans were the perfect complement to the rich sesame paste. I absolutely loved the sesame filling in the chewy rice balls too - so perfect! I also tried some of my friend's mango dessert and another's taro dessert, and found the flavors of those both to be absolutely spot on as well. I only wish I ordered more!

佳佳甜品 (Kai Kai Desserts) was a dessert shop that I had on my list, and my mom and I were craving something "not too sweet" on a Wednesday afternoon when we were in Hong Kong a few weeks ago. Fortunately, it wasn't very busy and we were able to snag a table upon arrival. Ordering is easy via QR codes that's on each table. Between the two of us, we shared two desserts: black sesame paste and black glutinous rice & coconut milk (and we added 3 glutinous rice dumplings to this). The black sesame paste was just OK. The black sesame flavor wasn't very strong and definitely needed more of that roasty "wok-hay" flavor for it to be exceptional. Overall, it had a smooth, gritty texture that hit home. On the other hand, we quite liked the black glutinous rice & coconut milk. We thought it was very unique! The rice texture almost reminded me of quinoa, with that heartier and chewier texture. The coconut flavor was strong, and the rice dumplings had black sesame filling in it. I'd definitely recommend this dessert soup if you are ever at 佳佳!

While this place has been Michelin guide for several years, I thought the deserts overall were pretty standard. They have some seating, mostly tables fit for 2-4 people. You order from a QR code and someone brings the food to you. The menu is made up of traditional Chinese desserts like red bean soup, almond soup, and tangyuan. Bowls are fairly small but even with toppings, they only cost around $5. Perfectly fine for a quick snack but not anything I'd go out of my way for.

This's Michelin stars Chinese desserts shop for self ordering from QR code mobile phones.. but the quality of desserts were pretty good n not too sweet but very smoother tasty delicious!! I've the taste of sweet walnuts n sesames soup!! The place is very clean n convenient location!! Services were ok that pretty much self ordering n pays by phones...

Line is very efficient, you go to the kiosk to get a ticket for your party. There's a screen where you can see where you are on the line. I probably waited shy of 5 mins to get seated. And the line went pretty quick for even larger groups as they have plenty of seating inside. I initially got the black sesame paste & almond soup with the glutinous rice dumpling BUT the black glutinous rice with mango and coconut milk is the star of the show. It reminded me of a Filipino champorado (porridge) but way better because of the mango chunks and the added rice dumplings :) you can get your desserts hot or cold! Definitely a must try, especially since it's on the Michelin Recommended list in Hong Kong.

Hot black sesame paste with 3 rice dumplings (sesame flavor) and hot sweet walnut soup.

My sister took me to their original Jordon location while I was visiting HK in August. (They now have a new location at 113-115 Parkes Street.) We had a light lunch in the area on a weekday and went there a little before 2:30pm. There was no wait! Service was efficient. Black sesame paste has always been my favorite dessert, and Kai Kai didn't disappoint. Their Michelin recommendation was *not* a hype. The sweet soup was hot with just the right consistency and the right amount of sweetness. The black sesame aroma was on point. The rice dumplings were soft with a rich black sesame paste filling and thin dough. I tried my sister's sweet walnut soup and it was smooth and delicious as well. I wish we have Chinese style desserts that good in the US! I'll be thinking about their dessert soup until I visit HK again.

Nice cold desserts for a hot day. They also have hot desserts if that's your fancy. You order via QR code which is very quick and convenient, and they accept Apple Pay! Got the mango pomelo sago and the black sesame with almond soup, adding black sesame rice balls. The mango and pomelo were nice and refreshing, good texture. The black sesame was also delicious. Not too sweet. Very reasonable pricing. Would recommend!

Sesame walnut and almond

Came here on vacation and ordered the almond, sesame and walnut soup. The food came out fast after ordering through an app and our entire group took turns sharing the three bowls. Would definitely come back as it was so smooth and warm and delicious.

Mostly a rating cause the flavors weren't my favorite, tried the black sesame with sweet walnut and then the papaya with white fungus and they were only ok. Long line but prompt service. Fine but wouldn't go back

My boyfriend liked the black sesame paste x sweet almond soup more, but I preferred the mango sago today because it was hot outside. I wish there was more pomelo in the mango sago. I recommend adding the rice balls in the black sesame soup.

This is Kai Kai Dessert, they make hot and cold bowls of dessert. There so many to choose from and can add additional toppings. We ordered a hot black sesame with rice balls that was filled with sugar, other dessert was white fungus with papaya found this a little on sweet side. There are so many to choose from that you will need to come back and try others.

I don't like the fact that everyone who sits there can't share a dessert, I'm not a huge dessert person and I like to share sweet food, this place doesn't allow it at all, if you sit with them, they charge you as to how many people will use their chairs, meaning everyone needs to order something on their menu or else they will tell you to leave. The servers are rude, the place is average for a Michelin starred restaurant and I'm not that happy overall. Food was ok. You could have better in other Asian countries for sure!

Mango pomelo sago & sweet potato dessert
Sharon L.

Kai Kai Dessert has lines out its doors for a reason - their desserts are so good!! On one of our first days in HK, we stopped by to get some mango pomelo sago. I haven't had a good sweet potato soup in a while, so I decided to order this too. The mango pomelo sago here is one of the best I've had. There are large chunks of sweet mango, the dessert is perfectly chilled, and overall it was just really tasty. The sweet potato soup was good, but be warned if you don't enjoy intense ginger flavors. I wasn't expecting the ginger to be so intense, but it was almost a bit overwhelming at times. I could practically feel the ginger soup making it's way down my esophagus! I would probably stick to getting the mango pomelo sago next time. You have to pay before you eat - either online or in person. The line moves super quickly too - don't be deterred by the line out the door.

My favorite place for Hong Kong dessert! I come here probably a little too much, and any time…read morefriends and family visit Hong Kong, I always make an excuse to bring them here! Don't let the giant queue scare you, and yes there is almost always a queue. Despite that, it moves fairly fast. Its definitely not a place where you sit and chat with your friends. They expect you to sit down, order right away, eat it, and leave right away. But I guess many popular places are like that around Hong Kong.. Seating-wise its very cramp here. You'll be sitting basically elbow to elbow with strangers next and behind you. But that doesn't matter because their desserts are so wonderful! Some of my favorites are the tong yuen (glutinous rice balls) that come come with peanut sauce. The one that comes in the ginger soup is good too (for this dish, the balls have fillings inside, such as sesame or peanut sauce). Another good one is their sorbets, which are perfect for a hot day.

Heyyyy, do you like durian? Or even want to give it a shot despite the crazy smell it may emit or…read morethe odd taste it might exude? I believe one of the ways to try durian without having to be afraid of it is by tasting it through the various dessert dishes here at this cute little place. Having no idea that this place existed, I was pretty thankful to my new local friend who suggested this place. It's located in a small little street, similar to an alley way, and by the time you get near it, you'll definitely see a long line of people waiting to get in. The wait itself isn't that bad. Most people just come here to eat dessert and leave right after. Once seated, my friends and I spent some time browsing through the extensive dessert menu and settled on trying the durian with crystal seeds (one of the many popular dishes) and watermelon and lychee with crystal seeds. In summary, the watermelon and lychee were ok. The watermelon ended up being too watery for my taste and the lychee wasn't too memorable. Both tasted decent but definitely not a must try. For the durian, this was surprisingly good! I am normally not a durian fan (the stench gets to me sometime) but here, you couldn't really smell too much of the durian in the dish. The taste of durian was also soften quite a bit, making this dish a bit more doable for those who do not like durian. I found this dish to be pretty tasty and not too sweet and it was unique to eat it with the crystal seeds. Overall, this is a great spot to stop by for desserts. If you're not a fan of durian but can tolerate the smell of it wafting through the restaurant, this place is great to try other HK desserts at an affordable price.

There was a time when soft serve became all the rage, and Via Tokyo was there through it all. While I miss the TST location (#1), this Causeway Bay version has a bit of seating and all the Japanese-inspired vibes one can ask for. Like most HK shops, the seating is tight and limited. There are wall-facing counter spots, along with a handful of tables for small groups. The wait is likely during the hot weather days (#2), but the turnover is quick since ice cream is consumed and melts quickly. The staff is young and friendly, doing their best to keep the ice cream coming while helping folks navigate the seating. Cones and cups range for roughly $40-45. The Hokkaido milk is my absolute favorite, smooth and creamy, and reminiscent of some of the ones I've had from Japan. Houjicha and matcha are the more popular items here, which take up a majority of the orders and is especially pretty when made into a bowl with fruits and other sweets. The moment of food photography won't last long, as the ice cream will begin to melt in less than a minute. HK dessert options are always revered. Thus, so is Via Tokyo and I hope they manage to stick around as long as possible. They take Alipay, Octopus, and of course, cash. ____________ (#1) Forever immortalized: https://www.yelp.com/biz/via-tokyo-香港-2?hrid=jtpxWsnvwDSZgQu9s6kF5g (#2) Which is often.
