Came to Yee Shun Milk Company on a quiet Tuesday morning. No line, got seated right away. We ordered the cold steamed milk and red bean with dairy milk. Both came out in under 5 minutes. I don't usually like milk, but the cold steamed milk was a pleasant surprise; light, fluffy, pudding-like, and just sweet enough. Definitely recommend. The red bean drink was refreshing, though I expected more of a warm tong sui. Still good! Staff was nice, though you can tell they're keeping tabs on when tables free up. Would come back for the cold milk alone.

These places that are packed or has lines says it all in HK. This place is packed at 5pm. The steamed milk is amazing and followed closely the steamed egg a close 2nd. The speed or service is unreal as long as you get a seat. Noisy bustling place as it should be.. enjoy it and go!

Their steamed milk is absolutely delicious! Not too sweet and had the perfect consistency and texture. Loved the extra layer of "skin" that settled on top of the pudding. You can get it hot or cold and with additional toppings as well but I think plain and cold is the way to go. Must try!!

Happy to try some authentic Hong Kong breakfast on my trip. I mainly came here for egg sandwich and a Hong Kong milk tea. I ordered the beef and egg sandwhich which was pretty standard. Milk tea was what I would expect I like that Hong Kong Milk tea is caffeinated. When you arrive you get seated and check off what you would like to order. Food comes out pretty fast. One thing to note is if I remember correctly this place is cash only so bring your money. I wish had ordered some French toast, but maybe next time. I really like the vibe of this place that gave me true taste of Hong Kong.

Yee shun has a popular Hong Kong dessert. Each person must order their own dish, which was a bit annoying as we wanted to share. The restaurant was also difficult to find. There was no sign in English and we only found it from the red sign hanging (iPhone maps does not lead you directly to their location). We ordered the famous milk pudding in the original milk and egg flavors. I would definitely get egg if you want to try. The milk tastes like curdled milk tbh. Some people love this dessert, but I was not a fan. They also seat you to get you out quickly

No nonsense, cheap, tasty milk desserts. Double skin milk was great! Yin Yang (coffee + milk drink) just mediocre

It's my first night in HK and I had to get my hands on some authentic steamed milk. I am obsessed with the smooth and silky texture of Yee Shun's steamed milk desserts. I looked at nothing else besides the ginger steamed milk (absolute fave) and steamed egg on the menu, which I think is both good and bad. Good because I was looking forward to the desserts upon arriving in HK but bad because I should try other kinds of desserts but it brings me back to my childhood. Service here is quick; the bowls were given within minutes. The shop is quite small and you'd have to share tables with strangers sometimes which is not uncommon in HK. I 100% recommend this kind of dessert if you want something simple and quick!

Nostalgic HK cafe for double skinned milk pudding - I remember it being really good five years ago - but the quality seems to have gone down while the price has gone up. Still one of the only places you can get this type of milk pudding though, so worth trying in HK. You can get the pudding hot or cold with all types of toppings, but I recommend getting the classic cold with no toppings for a first experience. The HK style "french toast" was very crispy and made fresh to order, but was disappointed that there was no peanut butter in the middle which is signature of HK french toasts.

Came here during my trip to HK last year. My family and I had just finished dinner in Causeway Bay and were looking for a dessert spot. Saw on yelp that Yee Shun (which was on my list of things to try) was nearby so we had to give it a try. We ordered the hot steamed egg pudding (dun dan 炖蛋) and hot double layer steamed milk pudding (雙皮奶). Both were silky, smooth, light, and smelled of a soft milk, which was comforting and brought back childhood memories of my mom forcing us to eat dun dan or steamed ginger with milk because it's apparently really good for your skin. My only complaint is that it wasn't served hot enough, though understandable considering they brought it out within minutes of us placing the order. My dad didn't really care for the puddings and ordered a red bean ice with grass jelly and coconut milk, which was just okay and nothing we couldn't get in the states. I now know how to better appreciate steamed milk desserts and can't way to stop by the next time I visit!

Despite the good dessert, pricing has gone up a lot! It's our first time visiting since covid. We had a steamed milk and another with ginger. The taste of ginger was really strong so don't get this if you're not a huge ginger fan. Both were good. But still, it's an expensive bowl of steamed milk!

So smooth and silky! Yee Shun dessert serves the best double steamed milk I had. Love it steaming hot as it is one of the best comfort food in winter! I was lucky it was not busy at all every time when I visited. No lines just quick service. A must visit for me every time when I visit Hong Kong. Ginger Steamed Milk is really hot and gingery! Just the way I like it.

I think their steamed milk is the best out of all that I've tried in HK! (granted, I didnt try that many) Just go with the plain steamed milk served warm and you cant go wrong! :)

Smooth as a baby's bottom is a weird and slightly creepy phrase. But that's what this is. The steamed milk pudding here is smooth as a baby butt and white as...milk. Damn it, popular descriptive phrases are failing me. What I want to say is that Yee Shun's double steamed milk pudding dessert is the best I've ever had. And that's no exaggeration. Steamed milk pudding is a popular dessert at dim sum places, which is where I've eaten them all my life. They've all been alright, I guess. The one in recent memory was weirdly chalky. After having Yee Shun's, I realize that every single one I've had sucks. Yes, they all just suck and were all overcooked and way too eggy. Or...maybe Yee Shun is just that superior. I ordered the standard double steamed milk. Even though it was 30 degrees, I got it hot because that just feels right for milk pudding. No special flavour, though they have a bunch of interesting ones like red bean, chocolate, lotus seed, coffee, etc. They've also got other HK cafe fare like sandwiches and soup noodle but the milk pudding is where it's at. Each cost close to HKD $35 or CAD $6, which is pretty expensive for a dessert but not expensive considering that it was absolutely mindblowing. The smoothness and creaminess were out of this world. It was rich and delicious but didn't leave me feeling sick afterwards. The texture reminded me of tofu, the sweetness was delicate, and the slightly condensed layer on top of the pudding was heavenly. This place is a no frills, wooden stools, fluorescent lighting, pay-with-cash kinda place but you can't really call it a hidden gem. It's one of the first search results on Yelp HK and Tripadvisor! A lot of times though, the best food comes from the most unassuming places where things are just simple, homemade, and delicious. And maybe just like its decor, I don't need any fancy words and descriptors for it. Yee Shun's Milk Dessert is most simply put...excellent. (35/100) - 2017

My favorite place for Hong Kong dessert! I come here probably a little too much, and any time…read morefriends and family visit Hong Kong, I always make an excuse to bring them here! Don't let the giant queue scare you, and yes there is almost always a queue. Despite that, it moves fairly fast. Its definitely not a place where you sit and chat with your friends. They expect you to sit down, order right away, eat it, and leave right away. But I guess many popular places are like that around Hong Kong.. Seating-wise its very cramp here. You'll be sitting basically elbow to elbow with strangers next and behind you. But that doesn't matter because their desserts are so wonderful! Some of my favorites are the tong yuen (glutinous rice balls) that come come with peanut sauce. The one that comes in the ginger soup is good too (for this dish, the balls have fillings inside, such as sesame or peanut sauce). Another good one is their sorbets, which are perfect for a hot day.

Heyyyy, do you like durian? Or even want to give it a shot despite the crazy smell it may emit or…read morethe odd taste it might exude? I believe one of the ways to try durian without having to be afraid of it is by tasting it through the various dessert dishes here at this cute little place. Having no idea that this place existed, I was pretty thankful to my new local friend who suggested this place. It's located in a small little street, similar to an alley way, and by the time you get near it, you'll definitely see a long line of people waiting to get in. The wait itself isn't that bad. Most people just come here to eat dessert and leave right after. Once seated, my friends and I spent some time browsing through the extensive dessert menu and settled on trying the durian with crystal seeds (one of the many popular dishes) and watermelon and lychee with crystal seeds. In summary, the watermelon and lychee were ok. The watermelon ended up being too watery for my taste and the lychee wasn't too memorable. Both tasted decent but definitely not a must try. For the durian, this was surprisingly good! I am normally not a durian fan (the stench gets to me sometime) but here, you couldn't really smell too much of the durian in the dish. The taste of durian was also soften quite a bit, making this dish a bit more doable for those who do not like durian. I found this dish to be pretty tasty and not too sweet and it was unique to eat it with the crystal seeds. Overall, this is a great spot to stop by for desserts. If you're not a fan of durian but can tolerate the smell of it wafting through the restaurant, this place is great to try other HK desserts at an affordable price.

There was a time when soft serve became all the rage, and Via Tokyo was there through it all. While I miss the TST location (#1), this Causeway Bay version has a bit of seating and all the Japanese-inspired vibes one can ask for. Like most HK shops, the seating is tight and limited. There are wall-facing counter spots, along with a handful of tables for small groups. The wait is likely during the hot weather days (#2), but the turnover is quick since ice cream is consumed and melts quickly. The staff is young and friendly, doing their best to keep the ice cream coming while helping folks navigate the seating. Cones and cups range for roughly $40-45. The Hokkaido milk is my absolute favorite, smooth and creamy, and reminiscent of some of the ones I've had from Japan. Houjicha and matcha are the more popular items here, which take up a majority of the orders and is especially pretty when made into a bowl with fruits and other sweets. The moment of food photography won't last long, as the ice cream will begin to melt in less than a minute. HK dessert options are always revered. Thus, so is Via Tokyo and I hope they manage to stick around as long as possible. They take Alipay, Octopus, and of course, cash. ____________ (#1) Forever immortalized: https://www.yelp.com/biz/via-tokyo-香港-2?hrid=jtpxWsnvwDSZgQu9s6kF5g (#2) Which is often.
