This is THE place to get breakfast in Hong Kong. Everything we ordered was fantastic. The scrambled eggs were silky smooth, the toast was simple but perfect, and the milk-based desserts and drinks lived up to the hype. Sometimes the best meals are the ones that focus on doing simple things exceptionally well, and Australia Dairy Company absolutely nails it. Yes, it's busy and the service is famously fast, but that's part of the experience. The food arrives quickly, tastes amazing, and leaves you wanting to come back for more. If you're visiting Hong Kong and can only do one traditional breakfast spot, make it this one.

It is not the best cha chaan teng I've had but it does hit the spot. It is tight in here and you'll possibly be seating with others. The service is really fast. They have an english menu. The noodles with soup definitely needs the white pepper for flavor. They were able to cook the egg really good. There are combos as well to help you decide on what to order. Cash only.

Very crowded and quite small, but that's the classic Hong Kong cha chaan teng vibe. A little chaotic, very local, and part of the aesthetic. The wait wasn't too long, but like most HK spots, expect to be seated with another group at the same table. The menu is mainly in Chinese and posted on the wall. Food was great, but because you're sharing such a tiny table, it can be tough to fit everything. They'll often delay certain items, like drinks, just to give you more space to eat first. Overall, the food is always awesome. I love HK cha chaan tengs, but definitely expect a bit of chaos with this gem.

Horrible service, really nasty attitude from the staffs, over priced food items, average foods at best.... It is busy only because of the fame of the tea restaurant.

A trip to HK for me is always about the food. It's been decades since I've been here so it was time for a revisit. There is always a line but it moves fast. Stand in line with friends and it moves quickly. Don't be concerned if you are directed to a table where others are already seated, it's the HK way. This is called "daap toy" which maximizes the space in an adequate and logical manner. When you come here it's for their incredible scrambled eggs. It's the fluffiest and softest mouthful you'll ever experience. It's greasy though, especially when eaten with soft buttered crustless toast. But that's what this place is all about. Do not skip the macaroni soup with ham. The broth it comes in is rich, golden liquid. I've never come across any other broths like this in a "cha chan teng" macaroni soup in SGV or even Flushing. It's the best! I always get "yuen yong" the iconic HK beverage which is a mix of coffee and tea. The one here is perfectly balanced. You get a taste of tea and then a coffee finish. If you've never been, it's a must whenever you are in Hong Kong. Just a short walk from the Jordan MTR station. It's a 5 stars for me simply because of how nostalgic it makes me feel whenever I'm here.

Breakfast Set (simple but so freaking good)

I have been to Hong Kong a few times and shockingly, I have never visited this iconic place and today's the day. It was pouring cats and dogs, luckily there was an awning above and the long line moved very quickly. This is probably the one of the most chaotic places I've ever been to but they have the system down pat. Before you even sit your butt down, they want to know what you want to order and the food comes within seconds. I already knew what I wanted it before coming. We ordered the Breakfast Set which consists of the macaroni soup with ham in chicken soup, two fried eggs with toast with one hot or cold drink. If you want the best Hong Kong Milk Tea, you have to come to HK. I just have never had anything better in the states. I added an iced Ovaltine to the order as well. I asked one of the waiters for the famous French toast and he informed me that it is only served after 2pm. I gave him a look of pure disappointment and his facial reaction matched mine, like he felt my pain. LOL. I mean, isn't French toast supposed to be a breakfast item? For me and my son, the hype is real, we absolutely enjoyed everything we had. I highly recommend.

This is always a must go for us when we go to Hong Kong. There is always a line, but it goes pretty fast. The service is not the nicest, but they're efficient! We love the sandwiches, the noodles and of course their steamed milk!! The seating is tight so don't bring a huge backpack!

Famed for their rude service, Australia Dairy Company is a unique Hong Kong dining experience. There will be a line outside, though we got lucky because they were looking for a party of 3 and were able to bypass the line. Otherwise, the line moves FAST because this is not a place where they will let you linger. They take your order and your food will be on your table faster than you expect. I got their set breakfast $48 HKD with eggs, toast, macaroni with ham in chicken soup and a milk tea. Their eggs are fantastic, silk smooth - paired with that lightly toasted bread with butter, it's a perfect light breakfast. The macaroni was kind of unusual, though it grew on me as I ate it (I could not finish all of it). The milk tea is a HK staple. The milk puddings are supposed to be good, but I didn't have room. The dairy comes from Australia (hence the name). We were seated with a random group at our small table. While the service was quite brusque (our waiter refused to listen to my dad ordering in Cantonese and focused on speaking to my daughter and I in English), they were nice enough to pull an empty stool for my daughter to place her bag. Empty stools are a rarity because they try to fill every single open seat. I would say that once was enough, but damn, those eggs and toast were good. I might brave the abuse just to get them again!

I was expecting to be underwhelmed by this spot, but in fact I was extremely impressed! We came around 3pm and there was no wait. In fact there were even some empty tables which was nice so that we didn't feel rushed. I got the scrambled eggs on toast, and we all shared the french toast. Both were absolutely delicious! The bread was fluffy and the scrambled eggs were soooo soft. We all loved the french toast too as it was super buttery and flavorful. All the food also came out in like under a minute lol. Fantastic first meal in HK!

Milk Pudding

I'd never heard of Australian Dairy Company before, but apparently it's super well known and a friend wanted to stop by for their milk pudding. There was a pretty long line but it moved relatively fast. The service moves quickly which is why they can keep the line moving so efficiently. I'd recommend you look up their menu while waiting in line and have at least a rough idea of what you want to order, that way you aren't holding things up once you're seated. We ordered the egg and milk puddings (cold), and while both were light and refreshing, I personally liked the flavor and texture of the egg pudding more. The milk pudding was softer and silker, while the egg pudding had a little more structure with some light almond flavor. I also tried some of my friends scrambled eggs which were super creamy! Overall, this place has a simple menu but it's a nice stop for quick snack or small meal. Don't be discouraged by the line because it moves along quickly!

Michelle C.

Must try when you visit HK :) The line was looong but it moves pretty fast. As soon as we sat down, they gave us a few minutes to decide what to eat. Once we ordered, our entrees were served within minutes! Everything was very fresh. My favorite was the soft silky eggs on our sandwiches. Just a note, you might end up sitting with other diners at your table because of the limited space and the long line but I still recommend coming here for the experience.

We were able to get seated pretty quickly for a party of 2 around 8:50 am on a Tuesday. Didn't know anything prior to going besides that it was recced by a friend & a cha chaan teng. We were seated at a table w/ two other strangers & quickly realized that's how everyone is seated. The table is very small & the restaurant is cramped so we felt some pressure to finish our food as fast as possible. There is kind of a charm of sharing a table with strangers though. We whipped out our Google translate for the menu but I couldn't figure out which item was the milk pudding all the reviews mentioned. So I pulled up a picture of it from reviews & was just like one of this please haha. The cold milk pudding was the star! It was so delicious, creamy, and subtly sweet. I think I saw how they pour it from very high and steam it. I believe you can get this hot or cold but since Hong Kong is so humid, the cold version was perfect. The macaroni soup with ham we got turned out to be something it seemed everyone (like locals) also ordered. It was a warm chicken soup broth or something with slices of ham on top. It felt very average but I felt like a local after seeing everyone have it for their breakfast. We got both a buttered toast & a egg sandwich. The eggs were nice and fluffy & both the breads were toasted well. I think I would have appreciated these a little more if I hadn't already stuffed myself that morning with HK dimsum & pastries. The warm Hong Kong milk tea had a strong flavor & I added in a bunch of my own sugar. It paired well with our breakfast foods. A solid spot & I'd love to come back to try more foods on an emptier stomach. Service was very quick & efficient, I think in the time it took us to eat our small table rotated through 4 different people.

This place is so over hyped. If you're in Hong Kong looking for a classic cafe meal, any other place is better than this. The staff are known to be rude and the place is so cramped. There's also always a wait. The food is ok, the only redeeming thing would be the milk or egg pudding. When we were here, we waited around 20 minutes to get inside. After ordering our food did arrive really fast. The problem came when another server gave us our total, which they write on a piece of paper and you are supposed to give it to the people in the front to pay when you leave. Our original server comes back asks if we got the paper slip, and when we show her that we have it already she gets mad because the other server calculated it wrong. She proceeds to do math wrong herself, gets mad at us and tells us to do the math ourselves. When all throughout this encounter we just said okay and did not even argue with her. Overall just a bad experience.

But for me it's different. A Hong Kong cafe is like heaven for a stoner who has the munchies (just to make it clear, I've never been stoned. At least not for a long time!) But I do see the appeal for someone with these cravings. Everything comes with gravy or some type of tomato sauce. They make Coke Cola ice creams floats. French toast squares with ice cream. Funky right? But we ordered: Baked Pork Chop: this was a decent version. I think one more pork chop in the entree would have made it complete. The tomato sauce with the rice was a nice blend. Mixed grill: this was my wife's entree and she didn't like it much. She said it was ok. Flat noodles: that's what it's called in the menu but I know it as Chow Fun. I always like this dish and Kam Kee makes it decent. Service was proficient and friendly. My wife said it's a three star eatery but what takes this place into four category is they put effort into the design or ambience of the cafe whereas many places don't invest in that. It's a nice looking restaurant with decently satisfying comfort food.

The dish looked amazing and the portion was pretty big, although I had no trouble finishing the whole thing. Hong Kong's scrambled eggs are on some other level. This spot makes them runny, and although I usually don't like my eggs runny, they tasted pretty amazing here. From the menu, tea/breakfast-style sets sit around HK$40-46, lunch plates are roughly HK$52-64, and most drinks are in the HK$18-24 range (with a few around HK$26-28), so you can order a full spread without the bill getting out of hand.
