When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, there was a bit of a line at the door, but we were assured it would only be about a 10 min wait, so we decided to wait it out. I was told by my friend that when this place first opened, there were massive line-ups.
Once we were seated, it was apparent that service was going to be an issue in the place. The staff was a mix of busy/appearing busy/apathetic. We were waiting to order, and I made eye contact with one of the staff, who then looked away, proceeded to finish her conversation with her coworker, then walk off.
We ordered a waffle because the aroma of the waffles in the air made us hungry, the golden millefeuille (I'm a sucker whenever something is labelled as "limited), the pizza (which wasn't really a pizza and more a flatbread), and the pomelo fruit tea. The waffle was really weird, oddly fluffy, like, some sort of pancake-waffle hybrid. Anyway, it was nothing special. The golden millefeuille was also nothing special, and pretty underwhelming. The pizza was ok, but, like I said, it wasn't a pizza, it was more a flatbread. The highlight of our meal was the pomelo fruit tea. All the drinks that went by to neighboring tables all looked fantastic. I am under the impression that the drinks at this place are probably much better than the food. The pomelo tea is tart, but not sour. I found it quite refreshing. It comes in a pot, so totally shareable. If you do order food, this is a good place to order a few plates to share amongst others.
There is a time limit to dine. You have only 2 hours to eat and then you are asked to leave.
Knowing what I know now about this place, I would not stand in a long line to eat here, but the drinks look pretty good. Just maybe not quite good enough to stand in a long line. read more
