Brunch Club has built a name for itself over the years with its old Peel Street Location in the mid-levels. Their newer Leighton Road location has surpassed its parent by offering better service, comfort and food quality. Brunch Club makes excellent Eggs Benedicts, with a wide range of toppings, and a nice creamy Hollandaise sauce. The yolks are thick, yet runny and the egg whites are very soft. Diverging from the already popular Eggs Bennies, they I would also strongly recommend the Clubbers Hash. Yes it is a ton of grease seeing as they literally made a casserole consisting of deep fried hash browns, mozzarella, marinara and béchamel (white) sauce, but wow, is it an amazingly good hangover cure/filling breakfast for the extra hungry diner. The runny egg yolk on top is a nice touch. Their lattes are also good, though I typically just go for a large Caffe Americano, because it gives me just enough of a kick to give me a pleasant start to the morning. I have since turned this place into my go-to place whenever I'm unsure where I should take someone. They offer decent quality food for very reasonable prices. I do however want to check out their lunch sets at some point.

Fresh!!!! So the sauce isn't real sauce on the eggs but the vegetables and the way they were cooked made up for it also note that the coffee is extra strong so beware overall 4.7 stars for value

Great place to enjoy breakfast / brunch on a Sunday with your special ones. Classic bohemian style environment. The tables are not big and you sit tight together with your table neighbors right and left so suddenly your conversation with your partner is not quite private anymore. The food is lovely but the service could be improved as its sometimes not easy to get the servers attention. Try to get there early or expect there is a line. Its not a fast food restaurant so people take their time to enjoy their breakfast just like me.

Croque Monsieur with sunny side up egg - comes with a hash brown and salad
Anita C.

This is a good place to have brunch or lunch with friends when you are craving some Western food. I usually get the Croque Monsier with a sunny side up egg, and don't regret it. Except when I am way too full afterwards. Flavor is good and the egg adds a good touch. Also super happy that it comes with the hash brown - the thing I forget they also include, and sometimes consider ordering something else instead to get the hash brown. But no worries, hash brown and salad included. Then I add on an orange juice and I am one happy girl. Try to get there before the lunch rush, or be prepared to wait a little bit. The benefit of all this is that means you don't get rushed when you are actually eating, hence leading to the waits. Only qualm is that sometimes the service is a little off as there sometimes doesn't seem to be enough servers there to take your order or bring you your check. Otherwise, happy to return.

Brunch Club is popular for a reason; Cosy spot in Causeway (definitely less of a trek than its Central location), decent food quality and reasonable prices - that's why people are willing to wait. But perhaps because of the name, it usually doesn't register to diners that they do dinner here as well, I guess that's why they updated their name to Brunch Club and Supper. All their bread is baked in house and you can actually buy it to go. Breakfast is served all day, so you can still order your eggs benedict or even oatmeal bowl at night if that's what you want. The dinner menu is standard fare - pastas, sandwiches, burgers, nothing spectacular but they do a solid job out of it, you won't be surprised but it won't disappoint either. They also offer a very good deal on dinner sets: 248 for 3-course or 268 for 4 -course. I've been on numerous occasions both day and night, and the contrast is stark - during brunch/lunch hours, it is exploding with noise with patrons swarming the door waiting for seats, but come nighttime the lights dim and the volume drops - I was there on Monday night for almost 3 hours, and not once in that whole time did they fill over 5 tables. Great place for a long chat if you ask me, and bear in mind this is dinnertime in bustling Causeway Bay too. Could the menu be reinvented? Maybe. But I can't complain given the price. I do hope they manage to stay competitive, but I also like how reliable they are now, I can always walk in for dinner and actually take my time there. If one day they open a Supper Club, expect to see me there during brunch.

Lovely Weekend Brunch!

I always wake early in the morning and went to check out the lay-over service apartment before go up to London in July. Before apartment visit and looking for somewhere new to have a weekend brunch in Causeway Bay, this restaurant was on my "To-go" list. A cosy upstair restaurant before going to inside and I spent sometimes for picture taking as well with nice decoration as usual. This chic restaurant was renovated in a uniquely bohemian lifestyle and was a favorite among expatriates like I was in London already; and the lovers of all-day brunch, however I have no interest to go brunch at night time, seems just wake up at late afternoon, abnormal meal schedule. Personally, I like a cosy designated home and restaurant, there were some classic decorations like an old piano, bookshelves, magazines stands and so on, most importantly, they offered free wifi that is quite fast and ambient music was perfect. I was sitting over to the window side which is definitely much brighter and the windows were shining in the reflected rays of the warm morning sunshine. As usual, English Breakfast have a variety of egg dishes - I ordered eggs benedict, my brunch favorite with hams was very nice. The eggs were poached to perfection - thin layer of cooked egg white wrapping the liquid yolk, there was a good amount of Hollandaise sauce, enough to add sourness to the bun. Overall quite nice, the environment is very relaxing that i have enjoyed a whole morning to read my latest favorite styling book by Nina Garcia. Lovely weekend brunch, highly recommended!

Great spot near Wan Chai and Central, amazing coffees and Breakfast foods. Had the omlet with sourdough and amazing bacon!

I haven't ventured out to CWB for eats in a while, and we were trying to settle on a lovely little western brunch. I've been to Brunch and Supper club before, but just for a coffee and a nose on my laptop. This was the first time we ate there. The menu boasts an array of options for brunch, from the standard poached eggs, fry up to pancakes. We settled on eggs and the choice of 2 sides. The eggs were just right, although my spinach was a little greasy. Nothing that a glass of prosecco and coffee didn't sort out. The restaurant is busy, and the staff very friendly. A good spot for brunch.

Their pancakes is absolutely amazing. Dont' let the 20 min wait stop you, it usually only take 10 min. I love the one with caramel walnut. This place is pretty chill and quiet, it's a germ in Causeway Bay which is overly-crowded everywhere. Service is ok. One of the waitress made me feel like she doesn't wanne be there. She looks unhappy 3 times I was there.

Spicy Hound Dog
Hay H.

Came in for a quick brunch in between meetings. Had a very satisfying brunch here. Service was prompt and brunch was good. I liked how they had not-your-typical beverage menu: I had Caramel Chopped Almond & Cream Hot Chocolate. I prefer Chorizo Eggs Benedict to the Spicy Hound Dog we ordered.

Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Yum!
Jennifer H.

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Decent service. There were a few of us that got a few dishes and tried each others choices. I truly enjoyed my smoked salmon eggs benedict. I was able to try both the pancakes and waffles with bananas, pecans and caramel sauce. The pancakes were a bit spongy, but the waffles had a nice texture and paired well with the flavor of the toppings.

Came here for breakfast after looking around for a good eggs breakfast option in the area. The service is a bit hit and miss, the waitstaff weren't initially attentive but warmed up over time and the surroundings inside are nice. Tried the Eggs Benedict with spinach and a side of mushrooms. Pretty tasty meal, not the best eggs Benedict I've had ever had, good to see it wasn't drowning in hollandaise, and it did the job. The flat white was a little overly hot, but also fine. I ordered double shot and it was just OK, so ordinary coffee may be a little weak. Free Wi-Fi is available with a password and fairly quick. Would go again but would probably try the eggs on sourdough or Croque Monsieur.

In addition to having a strong local following, it is also conveniently located near the F1 exit on the MTR in Causeway Bay. I am 100% in favor of any major city offering a late night Shanghainese option, let alone one that is open at all hours. While the awning looks like it would be an entrance to a proper restaurant, this is like any typical noodle shop in HK: small, cramped, and a liability for 3 or more people at a time. I love that the staff is constantly doing food prep which makes sense if they're feeding people non-stop at all hours. The smell of the cooking makes me appreciate the family business feel of the place. Overall, I like the food. It reminds me a lot of the NYC Chinatown Shanghainese scene, which is also good, but sometimes tastes like Shanghainese food if it were cooked by Canto folks. This is really not that different since it doesn't really remind me of the flavors that one would get in Shanghai (#2). That doesn't make the food worse, but it takes a slight ding on the authenticity bit. I still am enamored with the concept of this place. They offer a lot of my go-to items: salty / sweet soymilk (咸和甜豆漿), stuffed rice sticky rolls (粢飯), lion's head meatball (獅子頭), vegetable rice (菜飯), dan dan noodles (擔擔麵) and dumpling classics like soup dumplings (小籠包) and shengjian pan fried buns (生煎包). The former are frequent items for practically diners here (especially the salty soymilk with fried bread sticks), but the latter two are a tough sell for me. It's not that I don't love the meat or broth in the XLB or SJB, but that it's just a little too doughy for my tastes. I was pleasantly surprised with their mackeral noodle soup (醺魚上海麵), which was hearty and simple. I think the service pulls no punches. They're not the warmest folks, but hardly anyone is here for the service. One can only rock Canto fare for so long, so having a Shanghainese inspired spot that is open all day and night is a concept I'm happy to support. ____________ (#1) At least in Causeway Bay. There is an open kitchen where you can see the staff at work, beating the egg white, folding in the egg yolk, heating the pancakes on the skillet. They have the production down to a science, the staff keeps checking the temperature with a thermometer. These pancakes are fluffy by beating the egg white first to an airy lightness before incorporating into the pancake mix. Plenty of videoes are available on YouTube should you wish to DIY. My pancake comes out relatively quick. A light, fluffy cloud rich in the flavor of milk and egg. Like angel cake but creamier. It is so tasty on its own I don't need any sauce or cream to enrich it. It sure put me in a state of Shiawase, of bliss and happiness. Until it comes to paying the bill and I realized that the pancake cost me US$20... Happiness does come at a price... A Happy Pancake opened in the city of Osaka in 2014 and they've been branching out ever since. This restaurant is another one in the latest trend of soufflé pancakes. The chefs do not use any baking powder and instead use a secret unique recipe which makes the pancakes softer and fluffier than regular pancakes. I went with a dear friend at 11:30am and we were almost the last in line for the first queue. We waited over 1.5 hours before we were seated. While I was waiting I perused the menu. They had both savory and sweet pancakes and a variety of drinks like coffee, iced tea and milk tea. It was quite efficient; the staff knew exactly what they were doing and told us that we could serve ourselves with lemon water, regular water or hot water from dispensers on a table near the kitchen. The ambience inside was modern, bright and well lit (for Instagramming of course). There was a menu in Chinese with pictures so you just point at what you want. They did have a laminated paper of information like their free WiFi and IG account information. Under out seats were baskets where you could put your purses or whatnot. For someone who stresses out about where to put my purse in restaurants this was genius! I wish they had more of these in the States... After sorting out our purses we knew exactly what we wanted as soon as we were seated and ordered: Meal Pancake with Scrambled Eggs and Thick Sliced Bacon (HK$128): This came with three wheat pancakes, scrambled eggs and literally 2 pieces of bacon that were 2"x2" each. The bacon was tough to eat, scrambled eggs were decently cooked and the wheat pancakes were dense and dry. I was underwhelmed by this dish. Not going to order again. A Happy Pancake (HK$108): This is what we were waiting for. In its simplicity, it was soft, fluffy, airy and melt in your mouth delicious. My friend and I really enjoyed this. You don't need fruit, sauces or granola to make this glorious dish, well glorious. It came with a butter and a small container of syrup. We inhaled the pancakes and called it a day. Servers and kitchen were like a well oiled machine and cranked out pancake after pancake after pancake. Don't forget to tip the hardworking people since 10% is not included on your bill. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in town, this time I'll go for breakfast at 9:30am so I don't have to wait so long.

But for me it's different. A Hong Kong cafe is like heaven for a stoner who has the munchies (just to make it clear, I've never been stoned. At least not for a long time!) But I do see the appeal for someone with these cravings. Everything comes with gravy or some type of tomato sauce. They make Coke Cola ice creams floats. French toast squares with ice cream. Funky right? But we ordered: Baked Pork Chop: this was a decent version. I think one more pork chop in the entree would have made it complete. The tomato sauce with the rice was a nice blend. Mixed grill: this was my wife's entree and she didn't like it much. She said it was ok. Flat noodles: that's what it's called in the menu but I know it as Chow Fun. I always like this dish and Kam Kee makes it decent. Service was proficient and friendly. My wife said it's a three star eatery but what takes this place into four category is they put effort into the design or ambience of the cafe whereas many places don't invest in that. You'll be sitting basically elbow to elbow with strangers next and behind you. But that doesn't matter because their desserts are so wonderful! Some of my favorites are the tong yuen (glutinous rice balls) that come come with peanut sauce. I believe one of the ways to try durian without having to be afraid of it is by tasting it through the various dessert dishes here at this cute little place. Having no idea that this place existed, I was pretty thankful to my new local friend who suggested this place. It's located in a small little street, similar to an alley way, and by the time you get near it, you'll definitely see a long line of people waiting to get in. The wait itself isn't that bad. Most people just come here to eat dessert and leave right after. Once seated, my friends and I spent some time browsing through the extensive dessert menu and settled on trying the durian with crystal seeds (one of the many popular dishes) and watermelon and lychee with crystal seeds. In summary, the watermelon and lychee were ok. The watermelon ended up being too watery for my taste and the lychee wasn't too memorable. Both tasted decent but definitely not a must try. For the durian, this was surprisingly good! I am normally not a durian fan (the stench gets to me sometime) but here, you couldn't really smell too much of the durian in the dish. The taste of durian was also soften quite a bit, making this dish a bit more doable for those who do not like durian. I found this dish to be pretty tasty and not too sweet and it was unique to eat it with the crystal seeds. Overall, this is a great spot to stop by for desserts. If you're not a fan of durian but can tolerate the smell of it wafting through the restaurant, this place is great to try other HK desserts at an affordable price.
