It's really 4.5 stars but hey, four out of five ain't bad at all Each time I return to HK from…read moreVancouver, my brother would take me here for lunch or dinner. There are so many dishes that are really well done, and cannot be found in Vancouver. So I may be biased in that anything not obtainable at home may be considered good. But, this is really awesome in that I still fondly remember all my favourite tastes as a kid growing up in Kowloon.
So let's jump to what we ate. First, my all time favourite (partly because it's hard to make at home), the beef tongue on rice. Oh, they make it so tender; every bite just melts in your mouth. Unlike most restaurants these days which skim on amount of actual beef tongue in the dish (and sometimes oversaturate it with sauce), for $109, the portion is up there; but wait, if you're hungry enough before 5pm, happy hour price goes right down to $59, albeit with a smaller portion, but it's decent.
The Swiss sauce chicken wing is tasty, and is another taste I can't find in Vancouver. So, another winner.
Another odd TPK signature item is the salty beef tongue. While unusual, it, too, tasted wonderful, and may be more suitable to those looking for a milder and less saucy version of beef tongue.
The souffle....oh, the souffle. First, the size will hit you. It's HUGE, and is made for sharing. You can really tell they used a lot of real eggs to prepare this delightful dessert. This is a must, and is a social media moment for sure.
