This place is well known for its wonton noodles - firm, bouncy thin noodles with succulent wontons filled with large shrimps in thin wrappers, in a delicious, delicate broth. At this place, I suppose to increase its appeal and bottom line, there's a wide selection of other dishes - congee and other noodles/rice dishes, as well as entrees to go with rice. The dishes we ordered are pretty good, and the Okra w Eggs is exceptional! It's a simple dish of sliced okra with eggs, but they managed to cook the eggs very tenderly, with salted egg yolks added for more color and flavor, elevating the dish to a whole new level.

Another find on Yelp and it was delicious. Great menu options and with four of us we tried quite a few selections. It was nice to find a place to grab a bite after shopping. The hot tea served was refreshing and never ending. From the soups, dumplings and rice, it was all good and the service was impeccable. We talked about returning during our stay because it was so good, but we never made it back. Make sure you stop by if you are in the area and enjoy a great meal.

Hoo boy, this was definitely once of the pricier places I visited in HK that felt overpriced for the amount of food served and the quality of service. Located in a mall, this place was pretty easy to find. My friends and I were hungry after a long day of sightseeing, and seeing how this place opened late, we came here in hopes of eating a tasty late night dinner. Upon being seated, we were pretty excited to see the extensive menu (which had English on it). With various noodle and rice dishes offered, along with dim sum, it was a bit tough to decide. Finally, after much debate, all of us were ready to order. It did take some standing up and staring at the various wait staff to notice us, so do note that you will have to try your best in catching anyone's attention at the restaurant. For food, I ordered fried noodle rolls with the XO sauce. My friends got other noodle dishes and overall, for the price you pay, it's not worth the small portion. The food itself was alright (street food version of the noodles are a whole lot better and cheaper) but service was meh. Also, do keep in mind that nothing is for free at this place. If you touch your tea, you pay. If you ask for a cup of water, you pay. The only thing that could be considered as free was a cup of ice, but even then, to secure some ice, you will have to endure some incredulous looks from the staff as they try to process your request. Overall, this place is so-so and if you're in need of a meal and want a pretty setting, this would be a good to stop by. Otherwise, if you can hold your hunger, I would recommend trying other hole in the walls cafes of HK or some street food.

正斗粥麵專家Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop is decent if you looking for a restaurant inside IFC to enjoy some Cantonese classic dishes. Both the Wantun Noodle 正斗鮮蝦雲吞麵 and Beef Rice Noodle 干炒牛河 we ordered were just OK or even Meh. Nothing I would want to come back again because of the food. But the location is convenient and the environment is clean and seating is comfy. Their original location何洪記 does has a Michelin 1 Star rating. Maybe I should give them a try instead next time. Maybe Michelin is giving them a Recommendation based on the service and environment? both which is really good.

We decided to dine here before taking the airport express to HKG, due to its convenient location in the upper section of the IFC mall. Prices were above average, as expected; however, everything was really flavorful and definitely well-worth it. We will definitely return to this particular location if we're looking for a quick/solid meal in or around the IFC. **The hot paste that came with the turnip cake (蘿蔔糕) blew my mind. I initially asked for soy paste, which is what I usually use with turnip cake--but this sauce was surprisingly really, really good! I would love to find what it is so I could use at home. If anyone knows, please do share. Thank you!

(Note: this review pertains to the airport food court location ONLY) Really stumbled onto this place by accident... Whenever i come to Hong-Kong, i seek out most of the Michelin rated/recommended places to see if they are all that are cracked up to be - e.g. Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum, Wing Wah Noodles, but this place was a pleasant surprise to find, at the HKG international airport, no less. We were at the tail end of our trip leaving through Terminal 1, and we found this gem a few trips ago up on the top floor at the central food court area leading to all the departure gates. It wasn't until this trip to Hong-Kong where i was able to sample a lot of different places that sell won ton noodles in Hong Kong island that i was able to objectively say without a doubt far and away the best of them all. I really like the bamboo egg noodles (very firm) at Wing Wah as its difficult to find places that prepare it this way anymore. But i have got to say that Tasty Congee has as good if not better Won Ton noodles than anywhere i have found in Hong-Kong. But not only that, their menu consists of everything i love about Cantonese-style food. Its all here: Roasted Duck, Roasted Pig, BBQ port (Char Siu) combo rice plates, assorted Dim Sum (Har Gau, Siu Mai, BBQ pork buns), assorted Lo Mein, Beef Chow Fun, Pan Fried Egg noodles, Congee, Fried Rice plates, and of course their specialty Won-Ton Egg Noodle soup. I ordered the Won Ton noodle soup along with the Beef Stew Lo Mein (soup on side), and with 30 minutes before my flight, i got hungry again. I took out BBQ pork/Chicken rice plate with Chinese Broccoli along with Beef Chow Fun for the flight, and ordered one last Won Ton noodle soup before getting on the plane :-) The service is N/A as they call your number when your food is ready. But they are fast and efficient in getting the food out. You can tell they have their process down like a well oiled machine. The food lines are long, but they move fast. I'm a big fan of this place. I hate to say this, but because i'm such a huge Cantonese foodie, this place may very well be my favorite place to eat in all of Hong-Kong. And i've been to Hong-Kong plenty of times (also born here).

I went here during a layover in Hong Kong. what a great find! I had the wonton noodle soup, egg rolls, cha-su bao, fried wantons and stewed pear for dessert. It was a fantastic meal. Way too much for one person. The wonton soup was enough to satisfy me but wanted to try more. The service was fast. Staff was a little abrupt but typical of the service you will get in Hong Kong and China. The restaurant itself is small but very nice. I'll definitely come back. Next time, I'll try the congee.

Food (***** out of *****); Notice the delicately thin skinned wantons. You can see through the wonton wrapper. These are the extra big ones, called Shui Gaw. It did not have as much shrimp eggs in the soup as Chee Kei (池記) so the broth is less pungent, but the wontons has some dried scallops inside, so the wontons are a bit pungent in flavor. It also has bits of mushrooms and bamboo shoots inside, making it very complexly flavorful. I did not have a chance to sample their other signature dish, the congee. However, I did have their deep fried bread stick wrapped with rice pasta (Zhaliang). Other places that serve this often use stale bread. They use freshly fried bread inside freshly steamed rice pasta. Nothing special as they serve this in other Chinese restaurants, but their quality is consistent. You'll never get a bad zhaliang from them. Service (***** out of *****); Unlike other Canton restaurants, the service is stellar. The manager picked up a napkin off the floor. The servers will refill your tea. Very impressive. Atmosphere (***** out of *****); Nice open kitchen and tastefully decorated. No table sharing. English menus. Conclusion (***** out of *****); For great wontons and stellar service, try Tasty Congee & Noodle Wantun Shop!

I am a fan! Tasty has several branches and this one is so conveniently located in IFCmall just above the airport express counter! The branch in Wanchai just got a Michelin star this year The food here is solid and the service here is ok for the HK standard. Price is not too high. Basically the famous dishes here are wonton and congee but I also got dimsum items and they were all good. The liushabao was great and the ha gaw was pretty decent as well.

This is a touristy spot in the IFC mall with a bit of a wait. We had their chicken mushroom congee and noodle wonton soup along with some dimsum for lunch. They were delicious but overpriced for Hong Kong especially when you can find similar quality in cheaper non-touristy areas.

Ronda L.

You might think it's a little pricey for congee and noodles here but their food quality is really stable. Please try their fried noodles 肉絲炒麵! I can say it is the best in HK!

Fuk Loi Kui? F that. It's not what you think it is…read more It's the Cantonese pronounciation of the restaurant 福來居, but to make it more confusing it has another name embedded in as 福來居(牛記)海鮮飯店 (Ngau Kee) Seafood Restaurant. There's something about this place that gives me a "je ne sais quoi" kind of vibe. And that is, there is some intangible quantity and quality, that really makes this place totally awesome, provided you have the right minded set of dining companions with you, who share a love of great no nonsense local food. If you want killer stir fry in the hood kind of eats, with a decent seafood selection that is not entirely off the wall expensive, yet full of local flavor, FLK is a very sound choice. It is within very easy walking distance from Prince Edward MTR station, and is very near the roasties shop famous for roast crispy skin pig (still using charcoal) 永合隆飯店 Wing Hap Lung Restaurant. Started off with a bottle of ice cold Tsing Tao. I forgot how large the bottles in Hong Kong are. The Tsing Tao's in the states at Chinese restaurants are generally dwarf size bottles in comparison. So if you have 4 or more in your party, one bottle is good to start. They chill the glasses, a little extra attention to detail to make your "Cantonese izakaya" experience better. Too many good things on the menu, FLK has this dai pai dong esque vibe, and while it is indoors, the atmosphere and food is close enough that you can have an awesome time in here. 豉油王煎中蝦 - soy sauce supreme (Maggi) pan fried medium prawns. Incredible umami and flavor, but where are the heads?? Even the shells can be eaten! 薑蔥桶蠔 - ginger scallion stir fried oysters. A touch oily, but these are to be expected. Really awesome otherwise! Oysters are either from Canada or United States. 清蒸瓜子斑 - steamed melonseed grouper (wild fish). We arrived close to 8 pm, and by then the seafood selection from the styrofoam tanks were dwindling. At most maybe 3 to 4 kinds of live fish, and this melonseed grouper 瓜子斑 is certainly not a cheap specimen....but cheaper than having a kinki shioyaki at a local Japanese eatery! An extremely solid choice, well executed. The flesh came off the bones with ease. This is why when you travel to HK, eating fresh seafood is a must. It's a far cry from the farmed American fish at Cantonese restaurants in the USA. 上湯蒜子大豆苗 - large pea sprout with garlic in superior broth. Really hard to go wrong with this prep. Stir frying uses more oil, so this approach is healthier. 豉油王炒麵 - soy sauce supreme stir fried noodles. Haha back to stir frying because we want to equalize the guilt! When having seafood like this, ending the meal with a killer plate of carbs is a must, and soy sauce supreme noodles 豉油王炒麵 is a solid choice. It is also perhaps the de facto method of testing wok hay (the other tester dish is beef chow fun, but we're at a seafood restaurant). This rendition is very solid and intense. It's a touch on the dry side which is what I prefer. Oh, I believe they stock Yu Kwen Yick chili sauce, so you can ask for a little bit to make the noodle experience jump a few notches. Fruit platter for dessert (included in the meal), which was an extremely nice touch. Watermelon, pineapple, and papaya. Refreshing even on a mildly chilly January evening. Great food that soothes and satisfies. Even recommended by local celebrity Chef Leung of Hoi King Heen on his FB page!

They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large. I was most certainly full upon completion of this meal though haha.
