Attended a birthday party here on a Sunday evening. First, the service was excellent. Very attentive and professional. Secondly, the food was very good. We had a fixed menu for the party and we were able to enjoy meats, bread, pasta, and more. All of which were very good. Had a delicious happy hour here! We were served a variety of appetizers including the Margherita pizza (which was baked and charred perfectly in the oven), calamari with marinara sauce, baked flatbread, and crispy risotto balls which were amazing, along with a board of cheese, sliced meats, and fruits. The staff were wonderful and continued bringing out refills of the dishes throughout the time. The interior has a dark ambiance with candlelights which added a really nice touch. read more

Hidden gem in the middle of Yonkers, food is amazing and prices are even better. I love the staff here and definitely recommend! The parking situation is kind of annoying in this part of Yonkers, BUT the metro north is a block away. Great cocktail and wine list, seems a little too upscale from the outside but prices are totally reasonable and food is worth a visit. They also have a little party room for private events ! I came here yesterday, during Westchester resturant week with my family. The restaurant was so busy for a Sunday night. We chose to order off the resturant week menue for $30 a person. Just to simply say the size and portions where perfect and the food was fabulous. I had the organic chicken with risotto. Wow I am so coming back for that. For our first visit to Yonkers, dinner at Zuppa was a big hit after spending the day at NY Botanical Garden in the Bronx. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays; service throughout the night was friendly, helpful and neither overwhelming nor lax; and each dish was fantastic. Eating family style, my wife, two kids and I shared burrata, faro salad, stagionale pizza with pumpkin & egg yolk (crust is out of this world), homemade spinach-and-egg pasta (half order per our waiter was perfect size), halibut over spaghetti squash (nice change from rice or pasta), broken cannoli and zeppolini (be sure to double dunk in the strawberry & chocolate sauces). I haven't been here since the pandemic started but it was always a favorite. Went back recently for an anniversary/birthday dinner and was thrilled that it continues to be top quality and service! The manager brought us champagne as we were seated and the service continued to be excellent. And the food - so so good! My only complaint is that I had some leftovers but accidentally left them at the restaurant when we left. I guess I'll just have to go back soon! read more

Went here for a friend's bridal shower this past Saturday. Amazing food, service, and ambiance. The restaurant is lovely. Hors d'eourves and apps were passed, they were outstanding - crabcakes, eggplant bites, scallops and bacon, there was bruscetta, cheese plates, olives, flatbread pizza slices, foccacia etc. The waiter was extremely attentive and brought drinks/refills without prompting. Had the caesar salad to start, the ravioli second course and the ribeye steak (cooked rare, to perfection) as my meal. Panacotta and various italian pastries with espresso/cappuccino to finish. Everything was absolutely wonderful! From the service to the food you cannot go wrong. We had the pizza with fig spread and Gorgonzola as an appetizer and it tasted so fresh! It also had a nice balance of flavors. My boyfriend had the steak with mashed potatoes and I had the pasta carbonara. Again, everything tasted so fresh! But the only thing better than the food was the service we received from our waiter, unfortunately I did not get his name. Wow! What an experience! I recently hosted my daughters bridal shower at Zuppa. I planned and met with Eddie, of Zuppa, prior to the shower, and explained that I wanted an elegant and upscale event with a choice of 3 upscale main course entrees, along with 3 additional courses (gourmet designer salad, pasta of choice, and dessert). I explained that I wanted a 5 star experience for my guests. Eddie is a wonderful and experienced restauranteur, who guided and advised me. He advised of other items that he would serve, such as mimosa's, wine, flat breads and personalized menus; all at a fair price. He even provided a gorgeous table with tablecloth for my dessert table. The event was EPIC! I arrived early to set up. The staff (many of them) at Zuppa were ready and willing to assist me in setting up my favors, centerpieces, decorations and assisting with anything I needed. As my guests arrived, they were treated like Royalty! Waiters and waitresses served mimosa's, wine and beverages to guests as they arrived. Waiters and waitresses were attentive to my needs and those of my guests throughout the 4 hour experience. They offered outdoor dining to anyone who wished. The food at Zuppa is superior! Each entree and course are delectable and delicious, pleasing to the eye and beautifully presented as an artistic work of art. Michelin quality epicurean experience! Each attendee thanked me for the absolutely beautiful event, as they left. To this day, I am receiving texts and calls regarding what a beautiful event this was. Everyone was very impressed. I was honestly very surprised about this place, but not in a good way. When my party and I got to the restaurant, there was only one other table. There were other people present by the bar, but it appeared they were friends with the maitre'd/waiter. We placed our order and then waited. We received bread and I noticed THERE WAS A BROWN HAIR ON THE CUTTING BOARD - mind you, no one in our party had brown hair. I ignored it because I didn't want to make a big deal and ruin our meal. We waited for a bit for our appetizers, which was fine because it gave us time to talk. The friends of the maitre'd by the bar started getting loud and it was annoying. We got our appetizers and mine was great, but my mother's was extremely bland and had no flavor. We then waited for what seemed like 45 minutes to get our entrees. By then we were the only table at the restaurant, so it was odd that it took so long. We tried to lighten the mood by joking that they were trying to catch our fish in the Hudson. Unfortunately, our entrees came out overcooked and dry. The ABSOLUTE WORST part.. we had asked the busser to wrap the food and as he took our plates, he dropped one of the used forks on the floor, picked it up and put it right back on the food that we had asked to be wrapped. He then took our olives to be wrapped and as he grabbed the bowl, he did so from the sides and his fingers touched a bunch of the olives. DISGUSTING. We were so in shock that we didn't say anything. I should have said something, but I didn't and I regret it. It was a shame because I thought from all the great reviews that I would love this restaurant.. But after my experience, I don't think I'll even come back again. read more

We celebrated my 55th birthday this past Sunday, Feb. 23rd. This was my second dinner celebration with friends at Zuppa in the wine cellar downstairs. The last time was for our anniversary. Let me say everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the food, the service just lovely. Shaq, our head waiter, was efficient and classy as ever. Thanks to Arif and Enrique for great service. My favorite place to eat in Downtown Yonkers. The decor and ambiance are spot on, the food is incredible, the drinks are delicious, but what shines the most is the excellent staff. Beautiful space, perfect for a date. Our waiter was wonderfully personable, knowledgeable and charming. I appreciate it when the person selling me the food knows how it is made, what the ingredients are and where they come from. The owner/manager? also stopped by our table to see how we were doing. Cool beans. Between my sisters, my mom, and myself we ordered an apple and cheese salad, cauliflower soup, goat cheese bruschetta, lamb papardalle, almond crusted fish (forget which), rack of lamb, primavera spaghetti, and steak with fingerling potatoes, plus the zeppoles and the peach ravioli. There was also several glasses of wine and chimay on the table. Everything was executed perfectly. My least favorite thing was the Peach Ravioli, and even that was pretty good. The caramel sauce for the zeppoles was heaven, like melted Werthers candies..omg. Seriously....I sampled everything and it was all absolutely wonderful. Yes, the restaurant is pricey. Not as much as X20 and the entree portions are big...you pay for quality. Worth the bill and the 50% tip you should be leaving your awesome waiter :) I couldn't go here too often or else I wouldn't be able to waste my money elsewhere, but def a fan. read more

My family has dined at Zuppa for many years and have always enjoyed the experience and food. However...his past Sunday, a cockroach walked across our table during dinner. Disgusting. My husband killed it and told the waiter, but my mother requested a call back from management, since she was paying and this was a birthday celebration. Today is Wednesday and she has yet to receive a call, so strike two. Will not be patronizing this restaurant in the future.; no excuse for a roach on ANY TABLE, much less at a restaurant where entrees are $30. read more

I last reviewed Zuppa in 2011 after being disappointed about my meal, but after my family threw me a Bridal Shower at the restaurant this past weekend, I had to write another review. I have been back a few times and had good experiences since 2011, but the successful party was a major reminder to post something online. In advance of the event, my mother was pleased with the responsiveness of Zuppa when it came to planning and coordination. They were allowed to enter the restaurant an hour before the party started to set up decorations, which was plenty of time. The food was absolutely fantastic, starting with the risotto ball, bruschetta, and cheese plate hors d'oeuvres, on to the salmon, chicken, and mushroom ravioli entrees, and rounding it out with the ricotta cheesecake dessert. Everyone raved about how delicious the food was, the portions were nicely size, and the service was fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special event or just a nice dinner. read more

How anyone gives this place anything less than 4 stars is beyond me. I've been to Zuppa several times, and it's a great, solid establishment. From the decor to the staff, everything is wonderful. Whether you want to sit down at the bar for a drink, stop in for lunch or bring a date, this place has it all. Hands down - The food is fantastic. (The complimentary tomato-butter with their bread? OUT OF THIS WORLD! I want to package it and bring it home!) I've been for both lunch (surprisingly, their burger is big, juicy and delicious) and dinner (typical and not-so-typical Italian fare) and New Year's Eve! (THE BEST NYE party I have ever been to!) Portions are pretty big as well! Drinks - they have a wide, wide range of wines and a full bar, and beers on tap that you normally won't find anywhere else (They have 312!!!) Staff - SO friendly. Each and every one of them. You won't find better or more professional service anywhere. This is a true gem in Yonkers. Manhattan quality with a home-y atmosphere :) No matter what you come for, you won't regret it and you're sure to be back soon! read more
