After 2 years of issues, finally updating my review. They did fix everything, but it took so much convincing. Company is not organized.

I've contemplated for many years about putting a pool in our home but always talked myself out of it because of the cost, long build process, tedious inspection process, etc. My wife finally convinced me to interview some pool companies and get a couple of estimates. Zuniga pools was referred to us by our realtor and we gave them a call. The reason we ultimately decided to use Zuniga was because their price was reasonable, their build plan was extremely easy to visualize, and they're a one-stop shop with no sub-contractors. They even have an in-house engineer that made the planning and initial approval process go beyond smooth. Other than some common upgrade recommendations that ended up being really great ideas and I'm glad we upgraded, there was never a time where I felt we were being up-charged or pressured for something. We knew the entire price before we signed the contract and there were no surprises on costs. From the first meeting with Rick, Sara's timely updates, and Jr's hand holding throughout the entire process, we passed final inspection today with no issues. Every step of the way was seamless, timely, and professional. I can't say there were any surprises and ultimately was completed ahead of schedule. They were extremely accommodating, patient, and easily accessible during the entire process. If I ever have to install another pool, there's no question that I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

We had the best experience EVER with Zuniga Pool Construction! From Sara helping me with the materials! I had told her I wanted a nice white modern pool, and she absolutely made it gorgeous. To Jarred who came out before demo to get out ideas and recommend his thoughts on where our pool should go and the design! He explained how everything would go, and helped with the time line and the cost of our project. (The funding was so easy!) Brandon the owner gave us numbers to every design change we wanted and it was all fair pricing! He has the best crew! We worked almost daily with Junior who was the project manager. He was prompt, friendly and always allowed the multiple changes we made during the process. He would explain if our changes would delay the project a bit, or if it wouldn't. He was great to work with! The whole team was flawless! This was last year during the huge rainstorms and they continued to give us day to day updates on if they could continue with the rain, or needed to wait for it to dry. We were never guessing on what the time frame was, they were on top of it! Jarred even still continues to answer any questions we have around pool maintenance. We have such a gorgeous pool! where do I start with this review! I wish they have 10 stars to give Zuniga. Jarod was absolutely an amazing person he understood that we had a very small back yard somehow he managed to create a plan where a swimming pool, jacuzzi and Grotto with a cave to fit in my back yard making room for my BBQ Island and seating area. Jarod had made the transformation happen. He was very patient and understanding we changed the plans so many times adding stuff and taking stuff away and when we did they ha was happy to change the plans and the 3D prints. Zuniga came in with reasonable price for the amount of work that was done. keep in mind that I had over 5 companies come over to give me an estimates and when compared apple to apple Zuniga came 10k under everyone else. Job was completed before the promised completion date. less the 4 months from the day we signed the contract to finish including permits and inspections for everything they did. Jose (Junior) was the man in charge with my project and he was on top of the entire project and i was able to reach out to him with every question they kept the ball rolling and they didn't stop tell the very last day. Sarah was the office and billing person and the scheduler. every Monday Sarah emailed me the schedule for the week of who's coming and doing what. she set up inspections and kept me in the loop through out the entire schedule which is very important. all and all its highly recommended company very trust worthy, the Owner Brandon came and interduce himself to us and showed us the equipment he recommended. What started off to be a beautiful pool turned out to be poor quality construction.just 2 1/2 years into the pool we had issues with rust leaking out of our Jacuzzi wall into our pool.the contract clearly states 3 years warranty on the structure.brandon zuniga owner blame's it on the plaster guy which is his uncle.i know plaster does not rust,the problem is in the inner structure possibly from the rebar.brandon will not honor his work,he said he can have the plaster guy go back and chip away at the issue and patch the problem at my expense.and this problem is just getting worse so I have no choice but to hire a lawyer.very disappointed with this company!! read more

They will make you feel comfortable the abandon you, the owner is not the best person to help out or answer your concerns. We hired Zuniga to install a pool in our mostly unlandscaped lot. We just got our pool finished at the end of May and we love it! The company was communicative and everything was meticulously scheduled and completed as promised! The value was great since their bid came in at a better price than their competitors and they were able to start waaaay sooner. This company is amazing in every way! Their service, quality, craftmanship and project management are outstanding. My project included the pool install, @ 1800sqft of cement decking, (2) 40'X3' planter wall installs and relocation of a 5'x60' retaining wall, needless to say this wasn't a small project. Brandon never missed a beat and on the rare occurrence there was a small hiccup, he handled it quickly and with such ease. I thought for sure with a project this size there would be some major issues/setbacks, but NOPE! I had more issues with the Kitchen Cabinet company and the painter than my pool! You can tell Brandon and his team are true professionals who know what they're doing. His crew was always on time, very respectful and courteous. Anytime I had a question, Brandon responded promptly and didn't hesitate to answer any questions or concerns. Brandon, and his crew, are willing to go the extra mile to ensure you get what you want and are satisfied with every aspect of the work they do. I had a minor setback with our patio install and Brandon was quick to offer assistance and help where he could to prevent any additional delay to the project. Most contractors wouldn't have cared or would've pressured you into keeping their schedule or delayed the project even longer. I had @ 7 bids for the project and Brandon def. was not the least expensive but I can say, quality isn't cheap! You can tell Brandon focuses on the quality of his work rather than the quantity. Time will tell but I would be shocked to have any issues down the road with my pool and if I did, I feel confident Brandon wouldn't hesitate to take care of it. I had an appt with Rick and he never showed up. 20 mins after the appointment time I sent him a text asking if he was still coming. He replied with an excuse about why he couldn't make it. Thought it was rude that I had to reach out to him in the first place. Someone with good ethic and professionalism would have contacted me if they needed to reschedule, I shouldn't have had to initiate contact. Rick quickly asked if we could reschedule and I said I needed to check my husbands schedule before committing. A couple days later he left me voicemail saying he'd also follow up with a text and email. He sent me the email but not text. If he's this unreliable at the get go I would be afraid to see how much worse he could get. No thanks, taking my business elsewhere. read more

I finally decided to have a pool built in our home. Zuniga was referred to us by family. The first sales rep couldn't make the appointment, so i was told another sales rep would call me and be at my house the following day by 10am. He was a no-call / no-show. I was left a message by the no-show rep nearly 4 hours saying later, saying he was in my area in the morning, but had to get home. Look. I understand things happen, but come on. How difficult is it to call to reschedule or at the very least, send a text? Next, another rep called me, arrived early! He has outstanding people skills and a great guy. He got us excited and we couldn't wait to see his plans and start the process. I thought, ok, we're in business now. Then nothing. No call or text. I called and sent multiple text messages and texted the office manager to ask what was going on. She told me, "He'd have something for me." That was yesterday, and you guessed it, nothing. I'm sure they do great work, but communication skills leave a lot to be desired. read more

There is a reason this company might have so little negative reviews. I made a previous post due to work we paid for, not being completed. The company had their lawyers offer to give us a portion of our money back for the undone work, if I removed the previous post. Once I removed the post in good faith, the company added additional previsions to the settlement. I WOULD RATHER PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS COMPANY, than to get the discounted offer of money they were willing to give us. (Original POST) If I were you I would STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. We used this company to redo our entire backyard specifically a new pool. Their day to day workers were great people and did solid work. However, during the sales pitch, we were told Zuniga company does all of the work. Turns out they contract a good amount of their work to other companies. When issues came up with contractors such as shabby work, leaving the site a mess, etc.., Zuniga pools passed the blame onto the contractors, and delayed our project immensely just to fix mistakes. Don't fall for their "Pay to keep your price" SCAM they have going with their sales force. Once you pay the money, many things change and actually make it onto the contract. If You already paid your deposit to keep the price, take your losses and get out while you can. They failed to add two items that were contracted and we paid for. When speaking with the owner BRANDON about this, he was quick to say, "take us to court, we never lose." (How often do they go to court or arbitration??) Brandon Was hard to work with and very bossy and rude, even raised his voice during a discussion regarding the company failing to provide services. (I feel HE cares nothing about the consumer/customer). The company damaged our two entry gates during construction, which were contracted to stay in place as we were going to add the safety gates in front of the gates so we could add room for our garbage cans. Their heavy equipment damaged our pre-existing concrete. We ended up paying $3000 to fix that as they said they do not pay for damages caused...and said the damage was already on the property. We used a gardening service recommended by the company. The gardeners ended up fixing several mistakes regarding drainage pipes, and completing the shower feature which we paid ZUNIGA to do. If not for the gardener, we would have more items incomplete which we paid Zuniga to do. I do want to make this clear, the employees for the company were great, but management and ownership are the problem. read more

Good luck trying to get someone to come out for a quote. I called and was told someone in my area would call me back to schedule a quote. A week later, no call. I then submitted an online request and still no response. Finally I get in contact with someone and he schedules. However, he was sure to let me know what time HE likes to schedule his appointments. He said he likes them before 12 noon so he can be back at his office by 12 or 1. Which is literally the next city over. Maybe 15-20 min away. The day the appointment comes, he calls and said he's still working at a clients house and cannot make it. At that point we had zero interest in rescheduling. I already had a feeling he wasn't going to show. I responded no thank you. He didn't write back. That's that. read more

After getting several quotes over two years I decided to use Zuniga Pool Construction, and I'm so glad I did. They did high quality work and after 5 months of having the pool I still haven't had any issues. The pool was completed in 3 months and would have been done sooner but the coping company delayed because of staffing (Not Zuniga's fault). Brandon was great and although sometimes took a while to get back to me was super understanding and always got back to me eventually. If you're looking for a great pool construction company that does high quality work, I would definitely recommend Zuniga Pools! Mario who did the tiles was awesome and the concrete was excellent!! I decided to modify the decking slightly on dig day and we were able to come to an agreement on the change on the spot. If I could give these guys zero stars I would. We were referred to these guys by one of my coworkers who knows the owner Brandon. We got a quote to build a pool from them last year at a way cheaper price. We finally decided it's time to build a pool now and got a new quote. Understandably so the prices have gone significantly higher, understood. Some guy Rick came to our house provided us the new quote and seemed like a very presentable and respectful guy. We finally made the decision to move forward with the project. To some people 82k -85k is nothing, to us is big deal so we have tons of questions. We have also never built a pool before so even more so we have questions. My wife began dealing with Rick from that moment on as she normally does with many things around the house as I am extremely busy with work. Come to find out today this guy Rick has been extremely rude and condescending to my wife and seemed upset that my wife has a lot of questions. He even told her for me to text him if I have questions as suppose to running the questions thru my wife. You guys don't deal with women ? It's 2022. After speaking to my wife and her explaining to me how this guy made her feel we decided to just go somewhere else. Where we feel appreciated and more importantly respected. They probably have bigger better projects and that's okay, I would much rather they be straight and honest about it instead of belittling women. We do have other quotes some higher and some lower. We had decided to go with them because of the referral and because it does look like they do good work, but sometimes people/businesses forget where they came from and customer service means nothing to them. The last contact we had with them was Brandon telling my wife he would have Rick send over the Zelle information for the initial payment........ guess what we never received that either. So it's very clear they don't want our business and like I said it's okay just be honest. At the end of the day I still wish you guys many years of success. We will just take our business elsewhere. Extremely disappointed!!!! Back in March 2021 we decided to put a pool in our backyard. We got multiple quotes and decided to go with Zuniga pool constructions because we developed a good relationship with Rick Arias. They were not the most expensive and they were not the cheapest. We knew other people who recommended them, so we felt confident in our decision. the project began and we were off. Throughout the process the communication was lacking. the first problem we encountered is that the steps that they put in on one side of the pool were incorrect. the Concrete guy upgraded the steps on his own and so then they had to match both sides of the pools steps. the Second problem came up when they did the coping. We asked for pewter coping. I specifically talked to Brandon Zuniga and Rick arias as well as the concrete guy and agreed upon pewter. they installed standard grey concrete for the coping. brandon Offered to upgrade the rest of our decking To a top cast, they said it would show the contrast we want and it's an upgrade but they would handle it since it was their mistake. Well the contrast was not there, it's not what we wanted. Brandon then offered to do a wet seal on the coping to make it look darker. we agreed to do it when Rick arias said to wait until winter because as hot as it is, it will not come out right. Brandon contacted Me and said they were coming out to do the wet seal and I informed him as to what I was told and he stated it wasn't true and guess what, the wet seal looks like crap. Then we get to the plaster, prior to installing the plaster they installed the decoseal. they used silica sand For that. they for whatever reason did not clean up very well prior to installing the plaster and the sand actually got into my plaster and was imbedded into it. No way of getting it out. they Sent out a start up guy to get things going. the start up guy showed up 2 times and called it good. I was brushing everyday and the texture was rough and the sand was stuck, I called zuniga pools to come out And check and they said there was nothing they could do because it was my hard water causing the issue. They wouldn't even come out to check for themselves. after taking some pictures and showing them what the problem was, they decided to come out, drain my pool, acid wash it and sand the rough parts and fill it back up. Now my pool has white streaks and patches all over it from them doing what they did and it's grey plaster. I spent a lot of money for a pool that is not What I wanted. I respect the fact they tried to fix things but in the end it is not what I wanted and I'm gonna have to get my plaster re done and the pool is only a couple of months old. Please beware, I thought Brandon zuniga could have done better than he did and ensured the pool he put in someone's back yard was a good reflection on him and his company, instead as soon as they could they ignored us. Their contract is written in a way to protect them from liability when it comes to plaster. They basically can mess your plaster up and there is nothing you can do about it. Think twice before choosing them. read more
