Our 25-year-old pool needed replastering after a section came off the steps. Leticia walked me through the finish options--standard plaster, quartz, pebble, and pebble with glass beads. I chose the pebble with glass beads for durability. She sent a detailed quote, and the process was smooth from start to finish: draining, demolition, tile, replastering, and refilling. JB's team was professional, punctual, and kept everything clean. I hired JB Pool company on Larch Avenue in Bloomington to remodel my pool & shallow the pool from 9 feet to 5 feet. He failed to do work per contract & only made pool 6 feet. 30 black diamond tiles were installed with major scratches. The owner told me heavy scratches on new gloss decorative tiles is normal. The owner told the State Contractors Board investigator that the water level was only off 2 inches. The company was also supposed to use two different tiles at the water line & only used one without telling me they were out of stock. I have been dealing with an ongoing complaint with the State Contractors Board for over a year and I'm still waiting for his Bond company to perform on my claim. My new expensive lights didn't work & the owner said my electrical GFI outlet was bad. I hired another company who inspected & fixed it & told me the new lights were wired wrong. My original brick coping was about 12 years old & JB pools never protected it from damage when the plaster was changed to pebbles and is heavily damaged. I paid JB Pools the majority of what I owed & he placed a lien on my home for his balance. My damage claim is 5 times more than his lien. The owner Jose Bravo also told me when I hired him that he was a licensed Engineer for swimming pools. That's the main reason I hired him to only learn after many problems, that he lied & didn't have an engineer's license. He backfilled my pool to save money with material from another pool without telling me. After some of the demo I also learn all of a sudden, my skimmer had a crack in it and there needed to be an extra $3,000 to fix it. Odd my pool was not that old. Good luck if you use this company, the supervision is lacking unless you want to be on the job with all the workers every day. read more

We are finally done with pool and spa remodeling and we are about 2 weeks out from completion. Our pool looks amazing. My initial fear that it will turn otherwise hasn't realized and I am glad about that. Here are the specifics I like about JB pool plastering. 1. Leticia from the office is amazing. She is very responsive for calls, texts or e mails. Not just that she is so efficient and professional but a wonderful person as a person too. 2. The two guys who did the hydroblasting did an impressive job. It was fascinating to see them do it. Also outstanding dust control. I was expecting a lot of dust but none practically as they tented the pool while doing the demo. 3. Both Antonios and both Carloses ( yes there are two Antonios and two Carloses) were great as well and did a very good job. 4. This is an amendment of the first review I made. Since then the owner Jose was there the day the pebble was installed and supervised the work first hand and followed through after install up to the 3 day end of the start up supervising the work. He did an amazing job and I found him to be very professional and he made sure I was happy. The pool and spa turned out to be as we expected and we are extremely happy with the result. I will definitely recommend JB pool plastering. By the way of the 4 businesses in San Bernardino and Riverside who I got a quote he was the only one who was willing to pull a permit from the city. Jose made the pool building process very easy. JB pool plastering came highly recommended to me and Jose gave me the most competitive pool quote out of the 7-8 quotes I got. He was the one builder who did not ask me what other pool quote estimates I had gotten from other builders, His price was his price. He also only asked for the 1k deposit upfront which was surprising for me. He had dug the hole, rebarred and plumbed before asking for his first installment as stated in the contract . He was extremely professional and nice throughout the whole process, always answering and returning my phone calls. He doesn't subcontract out a lot of his work like a lot of pool builders. He has a team of people who do alot of the work and he owns a lot of the equipment used in the pool building process. His few subcontractors were all top notch and their work was top of the line. I did a lot of research prior to starting this process and I am happy that I chose Jose to build my pool. He gave me a timeline of 3 months and delivered in a week shy of 3 months. Only piece of advice I would say is to know exactly what you want (water features, size, etc) prior to getting a quote because he moves fast. He has done a killer remodel for my coworker and is in the process of doing a remodel of my parents' pool. Definitely would have Jose build me another pool or recommend him to anyone. After calling multiple pool pool contractors and getting several quotes and many no shows for quotes, I finally found JB pool plastering and made an appointment with the owner, Jose. His company checked all of the boxes of what I was looking for. Company had to have a website, had to have verifiable contractors license and liability insurance, use their own employees and no subcontractors on all work, have hydroblaster to remove tile and plaster rather than jackhammers that can damage the pool shell, have multiple excellent reviews on Google and Yelp, be able to give me an exact quote and time line on when the job would be completed and also guarantee the work and materials. JB pool plaster gave me an extremely competitive estimate, three week lead time to start the job and two weeks after they started the job the pool was completed and filled. They did an amazing job and were very meticulous with the tile installation, Aqua cool mini pebble plaster and abalone shells, cobalt blue tile on pool and spa as well as new mastic. They were prompt every morning at 7 am, and cleaned up every day after they finished each phase. The 7 man plaster crew was quick and professional. The pool looks amazing! BEWARE THEY HAVE NO INSURANCE. They caused a leak and tried to fix it. and they couldn't so he paid a leak detector company to find the leak.. they found it and he sent his guy to fix it.. he couldn't fix the leak so he left it and said im on my own.. I asked for his insurance to file a claim and he is not responding. Court it is... but what a hassle. I don't believe they been doing this for as long as they say. The leak was not there before the work and its something in the seals or the glue they used. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Before calling JB Pool plastering I was very unhappy & frustrated with the plaster in my pool since I had it built, only 4 yrs ago. The color was to be grey but looked nothing at all what I paid for. The builder felt nothing was wrong & only attempted to fix my anger rather than fix the plaster. It was not uniform, had white streaks everywhere so bad it looked as though it had been unattended for years. I finally called JB Pool Plastering for help. I hired them the same day they came for an estimate. I opted to have both the pool and spa gutted, replastered, and refinished with Pebble Tech.
