I have had Afford-Pool-Service for only three weeks so far. Ashly gave me a reasonable price, I have had lower quotes, but it looks like I made the right choice on a Pool Service. You get what you pay for. I have had other technicians from other pool services that come and go within 10 minutes or less. Mark is detail oriented, takes the time to make sure that my pool is well taken care of, explains what is going on with my pool, and makes recommendations on what I can do better, (pump run times, cleaner hose floats, etc. So far I am very pleased. Great service! It was very easy to schedule an appointment for a pool cleaning. Mark tested the pool chemicals, and checked out the pump. He was able to identify and seal several small leaks. He did an algae treatment while scrubbing the sides of the pool. The pool water was super clear after all his hard work! read more

I needed a new pump for my 14 year old pool. Being so old, there were some issues when Mark was installing it, so the process took longer than expected, but Mark was great about making sure everything was working correctly before he left. He carefully explained it all to me, and made sure I understood the workings of the new pump. These guys were great right up until the company decided to downsize. They do not seem stable so I would stay away. The company just didn't show up one morning. I got an email later in the day letting know they would no longer be servicing my pool. A little bit of notice would have been professional. I'm left with no service and a dirty pool. I highly recommend this pool maintenance and repair service. They are very responsive, professional, knowledgeable, responsible and fairly priced. My pool was built only 4 years ago and for the most part, my husband does the monthly filter cleaning, and we have a creepy crawler automatic pool vacuum. We recently started having issues with our pool equipment, and were seeing cloudy water and it did not appear to be filtering or vacuuming effectively, so it had quite a build up of dirt, leaves, bugs, etc., and the creepy crawler was not moving at all. Cleaning out the filter did not help, so after trying several things, I knew we needed professional help! I found this service by searching for companies on Yelp that had 5-star ratings in my local area, and based upon the feedback I saw on this company, I sent a message via the Yelp messaging service asking if they service my area and if they had available appointments. They responded very quickly via Yelp messaging (I think in about 10 minutes or so), and let me know the days/times they were available, and we got it booked. On the day of service they were actually running ahead of schedule, so called to see if they could come early. I truly appreciated them calling ahead of time, since I lead a highly scheduled life and work from home. When they arrived, I spent only 5 minutes briefing them on the issues, and they immediately set to work. When I went back about 20 minutes later to see how things were going, they were pretty much done, had figured out the issue, and let me know what needed to be done. I truly appreciated the fact that they took the time to explain everything to me. I am not a mechanically minded person, but they explained it in plain English, so I actually understood it. :) I will call this service anytime I need help, especially after all of our Corona windstorms that leave the pool looking like a disaster, and for regular "check-ups" to make sure everything stays running in top condition.
