The pizza with a wet underside, and no sauce. It was like a wet grilled cheese.

I had an all-around awful experience with Zorba's today. I ordered a large pastrami pizza and two sandwiches, and, when ordering on Grub Hub, asked that the pizza please be crispy. Not only was it Not crispy, the entire bottom of the pizza was WET! I had to put the pizza on paper towels. I ate one slice. It was awful, and, in addition, had almost no sauce on it. I am (was) a very good customer of this place. I called to let them know that I had a disappointing order today. I wanted to do them the courtesy of giving them a phone call instead of a written bad rating. The man on the phone was NOT RECEPTIVE. At first he said he didn't make any pastrami pizzas today (in other words, you are lying). Wrong. Once he found my slip he told me that I should have written "well done" instead of "crispy." Really? The underside of a pizza is supposed to be wet? ? Then he said "I don't know what to tell you." The response to my phone call was worse than the pizza! This is how you treat customers who had a bad experience? First telling them you didn't make the pizza the customer had a problem with? Then, after finding my slip for my $60 order, telling me "I don't know what to tell you." OK, I will tell YOU! You lost a good customer today.

Zorba's is my go to spot for when I don't feel like cooking, especially on a Sunday afternoon when I got to be into work Monday ridiculously early. The owner, Sammy, always turns out plentiful portions and fresh food. Whether a Turkey Club, Chicken Parmesan or as was tonight's choice... a Large Meatball & Roni Calzone. We never finish it and are still reheating it days later in the toaster oven! One of the very FEW places in North Providence that isn't going to bend you over on prices either. Unlike other unnamed restaurants in North Providence; a Couple can confidently come in here and have a great dinner AND a couple of drinks for under $50.

Great sauce and cheese. Friendly people and good prices. Above average, and worth a look if in the area.

Well I have to say the place was definitely clean from the front to the back. The Restrooms was the first place I went to when I walked in....spotless. Tells alot about the shop owner. I had a lamb and chicken gyros with my boss, excellent. The salad and everything was so freshly cut..The bar tender was very sociable and friendly and sociable. Drinks were spot on. The owner came out and he has alot of deep roots in the community...great place to hang out. Plenty of varieties of cable entertainment. Just ask they will accommodate..definitely go back..

I am struggling with my star rating so here's why I would go with 2 stars: 1. New restaurant 2. I think they need work on the menu a. no kid menu (a bowl of plain pasta cost me $7.99!) b. I ordered a small BLT and for $6.99 comes with no chips or fries! (They said you can order a side of fries for $4.99! They cut me a deal and I had fries for an extra $2.49 with my meal. Her said they are expensive fries- they were like McDonalds fries to be honest) c. We didn't have one set waiter- the whole family served us (a little confusing) d. A salad came with my father meals and they didn't tell him or offer him a choice of salad dressing) e. I had a BLT on a grinder! I would prefer regular bread or even a bulky role Why 3 stars: 1. They have potential! (If they fix the menu a bit) 2. Nice atmosphere (all new, clean, separate bar/eating area and a tv to watch games) 3. The family that runs it was very nice 4. Nice array of foods 5. Food tasted fine I will try it again. Like I said- I see potential!

Steak and cheese grinder!

This restaurant is really good! The food is so delicious! From pizzas, to crispy wings, chckn park to the steak and cheese grinder. All of it cooked thoroughly and fresh. The service was decent, a little slow but nothing outrageous (prob because they need more staff). They have a nice big bar with TVs and the other half is spread out with tables. A good amount of space, not like those small spots that are packed with tables. Overall it's a great spot with awesome food!

When I went to Zorba's tonight I knew it would be a great meal because it is owned and operated by the same friendly, welcoming person who ran the Kitchen Bar on the Providence East Side. Sam's new restaurant is relaxed, informal, spacious and comfortable. And he continues to be a hands on owner who is out front ensuring everything is on point. We visited on the Monday night after St Paddy's Day so the restaurant was pretty slow. Our server was friendly and helpful and just as important, our food was delicious. I had a sausage, onion and pepper calzone. The crust is the same as their pizza crust - flavorful with just the right amount of crispness. It was generously stuffed with fresh ingredients. Two of the people in our party had (Greek style) pizzas and the other had a hamburger with a Greek salad that had a very generous covering of feta cheese. All of us agreed that the food was exceptional. But perhaps tonight's MVP went to the carrot cake. It was so carroty flavorful with an equally delicious cream cheese topping. I think my 88 year old mother ended up eating her weight in dessert - it really was that good that I'd choose it over the carrot cake at some of the well known dessert places back in Brooklyn! My one regret is that we dove into the food so quickly that I didn't take any photos. A well deserved 5 stars!

Providence's own version of CHEERS…read more I've been here several times now and consider the Ivy Tavern to be the best bar in Providence. The customers are all super nice, unique, and interesting humans. Moreover, the staff of AAJJMO --- Alex, Allen, Josh, Julia, Mike, and Olivia --- are incredibly friendly, witty, and funny. The cocktails and food are also outstanding - I especially recommend the bimbap bowl, fish and chips, korean wings, and burger. You will also find the service to be top notch. The bartenders/servers gird up their loins and exhibit extreme hustle during peak hours, while still being able to charm you with a wink or a joke as they move from table to table. If you have not been to the Ivy in the past few years, I highly recommend it. Since Allen was hired as manager a few years ago, the place has become one of Providence's hidden gems.

Rating: 3.5 stars…read more The food was good, but not worth the price. The burger didn't taste like anything special and the bun just tasted like it was pulled right from the store-bought bag. Similarly, the fries were definitely from a freezer bag of french fries and barely had salt or pepper. Basically it tasted like what you'd have at like a backyard cookout? TLDR: fine, but it shouldn't cost $18 + tip. For this price I expect a nice toasted bun & homemade fries & a bit more flavor. They also messed up my order which is not a big deal but the waiter came back to the table to confirm my order and when he repeated it back, he had the temperature and the cheese wrong. It was then brought to me with tomato but no lettuce-- I had asked for lettuce with no tomato. The waiter was nice though!

It was frigid outside so maybe that helped - because I remember it always feeling so crowded and loud but this time there weren't too many people. Got the It's Greek to Me burger. I never finish my meals - so I made the choice to remove the top bun and eat it with a fork and knife and devoured it. There were fries leftover, but my mom helped finish those. The burger I got was excellent, they were able to accommodate my food allergies, and the service was lovely. Unfortunately, it was louder than any bar I've been to in a decade. I don't know if it's normally like this on a Saturday night, or whether it was the individual parties that were happening there, but we literally had people jumping up and down behind us with more than one large group that was whooping and cheering intermittently, such that we had to absolutely scream to be heard by the folks at our table. I left hoarse. It was more like a club than a tavern the night we visited. Heads up--the ladies room is a single room, with no separate mirror/make up space. There were a lot of women who wanted to touch up or actually use the facilities the night we visited. Prepare for a line. We ultimately left and had a better social experience at the bar right across the street. I would definitely return to The Congress Tavern for lunch... but I wouldn't go back on a Saturday night.
