Extremely disappointing experience with Zona Blu. I had my daughter's October 10 bridal shower confirmed in writing and was provided a menu stating $70 per person, including tax and gratuity. When I went in Saturday to finalize details, I learned our event was no longer being accommodated due to another commitment. At no time did anyone contact me directly, leave a message with a name or phone number, or explain that our confirmed event was being canceled. I only found out because I went to the restaurant myself. I was then told tax and gratuity were not included and that adding the sangria we had previously discussed would increase the price to $90 per person. We are now scrambling to relocate my only daughter's bridal shower while family is traveling from out of town and North Florida. I cannot recommend Zona Blu for an important event or special occasion. If you don't care how you're treated, by all means spend your money there. Based on my experience, they won't care one way or another. This experience will be shared with our family, friends, and anyone who values quality customer service, communication, and being treated like a valued customer--not just another dollar sign. read more

We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was busy with quite a few people, but it wasn't completely full, so I was seated without any issues. I started with the Caprese di Bufala -- a creamy ball of buffalo mozzarella with tomatoes, pesto, and basil, drizzled with EVOO. The cheese was delicious, but I do wish there had been more pesto. It felt like there was more EVOO than pesto. For my main course, I ordered the Saltimbocca Sardo: a 12 oz bone-in pork chop grilled and served in a Vermentino and sage sauce, topped with capocollo and accompanied by mashed potatoes. One note: the menu doesn't mention that the pork chop is bone-in, so that's something to keep in mind. The pork chop was delicious, and the mashed potatoes were fantastic -- silky, smooth, and perfectly made. I had an Italian Pinot Grigio with my appetizer, which was excellent, and a Chianti with dinner. The Chianti was a-OK, although the Pinot Grigio was definitely my favorite of the two. Overall, a very enjoyable dinner. The pork chop, sauce, and mashed potatoes were the standouts for me, and I'd happily come back to try some of the other dishes. I recommend. read more

I love coming here for dinner! The food never disappoints and the staff is super friendly! If you come during truffle season I highly recommend their truffle pasta!! Everything they offer here is fresh and delicious from the cocktails to the dessert! The place itself is not big and when it's full it can be noisy but they offer outside seating! Typically I try and write my reviews pretty quickly after eating so I can remember everything I experienced. Unfortunately, it has taken me months to write this review, because I'm pretty sure I died and went to heaven for a while. Literally on the ride home after eating this meal, I hit up almost everybody that I knew and told them they had to come to this restaurant. I was raving about it for so long, that I completely forgot to write my review! Came to Zona Blu on a weekend between lunch and dinner. It wasn't insanely busy when we got there, but it was picking up really fast before we left. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the ambiance is nice and cozy. For an appetizer we got the soufflé al pecorino.... I just cannot. There are absolutely no words. Despite how rich it was, I could probably eat 50 of these in one sitting. It was absolutely divine. It was creamy, bursting with flavor, beautifully baked. If you love cheese this is a MUST have. For entrees we got the fiocchetti di ricotta e tartufo and the raviolo sardo. The raviolo sardo was good. It satisfied our hunger and was tasty. The pasta was cooked nicely, they were stuffed well, and the sauce had a nice hint of sweetness to it. Now the fiocchetti on the other hand? I was eating as slow as humanly possible to savor every bite...and I don't eat slowly. I finished my pasta eventually, and saw the table next to me order the same thing, and had to live vicariously through them to enjoy the dish again. I don't think I could ever risk getting something else on this menu, because the pasta was absolutely mind blowing. The perfect dish, not one thing should be changed. I was talking about it for literal weeks and had to stop myself from coming back because I was scared that I would empty my bank account ordering too much pasta. The service was incredibly friendly, almost felt like family. Attentive, conversational and kind, what more can you ask for? With the food we ordered and two soft drinks, the bill hovered around $85. For the quality of this meal, I would consider that a steal. Between the soufflé and the fiocchetta, if I was blindfolded, I would legitimately think that I was on a Mediterranean island in Italy. Place was crowded on a Friday night but I can't understand why. Honestly the service was good and some of the table side prep we saw for certain dishes was amusing, however the food quality was lacking. Calamari with shrimp (extra spicy please) wasn't spicy and was pizza place quality. The "halibut special" was super salty. The zuppa de pesce (super spicy please) was watery, lacked flavor and wasn't even slightly spicy. Cool place, crowded and popular but food was a 2 at best. read more

Lovely Sardinian restaurant in Weston! Four of us shared several starters including octopus, salumeria (selection of meats & cheese), and a margherita pizza. For entrees we ordered Salmon Al Moscato, Gamberini all Griglia, gnocchetti, and pasta made in the cheese wheel with truffles. Most of the food was excellent. The Salmon sounded a lot better than it actually was. No dessert as we had birthday cake at home. They had mentioned on the reservation that it was my husband's birthday, which was not acknowledged. Otherwise, the service was great and the food arrived almost too quickly for a leisurely meal. I recommend reservations as the place was packed by the time we left. read more

Yesterday, my wife and I, along with some close friends, went to Sardinia Zona Blu in Weston, Fl for lunch for the first time. We are all huge fans of Italian food. The service we received from Roberto, our Host, was spectacular. We selected various items from the menu, ranging from antipasti to start to our main courses. Our host answered all our questions about the dishes very courteously and friendly. Personally, I am a fan of prawns, though I don't order them often because, in some places, what they actually serve are just "fancy" shrimp. At Sardinia Zona Blu, however, Roberto recommended their "Gamberoni alla Griglia"--grilled jumbo prawns with sautéed vegetables. I was very pleased with this choice. Overall, all the dishes we ordered were fresh and delicious. The wine selection is excellent, as are the desserts. In short, we had a fantastic culinary experience. It is the kind of place that leaves you wanting to come back. We will return soon! read more

Made reservations for Mother's Day dinner. The restaurant is located at the end of a strip mall with plenty of parking. We noticed that there were quite a few outside tables - all of which were filled. We were seated about 5 minutes after checking in. The inside is relatively small and the tables were packed very close together. I'm not sure if this is their normal since this was our first time there, but I was seated about 7 inches away from the back of the person beside me. For starters we ordered the calamari. I really had high hopes for this place because our calamari appetizer was delicious. The calamari was seasoned well and the zucchini pieces mixed in were delicious. They were also seasoned and fried perfectly. For entrees we ordered the lasagna, the risotto with seafood and the short rib with fettuccine. The risotto was not good. The risotto was like a paella rice than what risotto is supposed to be. The short rib was cold in places. Flavor was good but the dish was cold. The lasagna was good. For desert we ordered the apple desert and the pistachio gelato. The Apple desert was ok but the pistachio gelato was delicious. However, for $15 I would have expected at least 2 scoops of the gelato. The average dish is about $35. The short rib was $55 and the risotto was $45. Given the prices there is an expectation as to the quality of what we will be eating. I spent about $240 with tip and it was not worth it. I won't be back. read more

Last night was our first but definitely not last dinner at Zona Blu. Thankfully we had reservations because this restaurant is hopping. Our server was Leonardo, he was friendly and attentive as was the rest of the waitstaff. But the best part was the food. We had octopus with potatoes, tomatoes, arugula, capers and olives as a starter and it was tender and the potatoes crisp. We all enjoyed the lasagna with bechamel and bolognese. It was creamy and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant but make sure you make a reservation. read more

I just love this place! The staff for me is always good. I let them take the wheel on guiding me with what I should get to eat because all the food is great here! Tonight I had the Pecorino Soufflé. A delicious cheese soufflé with a truffle Alfredo type of sauce with it. Super rich and just Devine! I had my server choose my entree. First before telling you what I got, I want to preface when you buy a meal at this location, please forego the pizza on the 1st visit if you can. I say this not because the pizza is not good- quite the opposite, the pizza is exquisite here!- but rather because there are just so many interesting items on the menu to try that are more unique in my opinion. Now, for my dinner I got the Ferrari pizza which was topped with burrata and quanciole (sp?), and truffles. So good! My server complimented each of my Meals with some wonderful Sardinian wines. My only not so favorite thing tonite was normally they have patio seating, but that was not an option that evening. And the weather right now is gorgeous for Al fresco. So inside the ambiance is Italian Seaside Cafe sort of? Just like Parisian cafes, the tables here are also very close together. Of course I will be back! The food was subpar service was decent. There's a lot other choices that are more reasonable and better food in the Weston area.

As the old adage says, "First impressions last a lifetime." At least in my lifetime, this is the first and last time coming here! They bumped my reservation at the bar. The bartender was aggressively rude. The manager went to speak with him, to no avail--he was about to lose his mind with all the customers standing both at the entrance and outside waiting. I was already hesitant on staying because as I waited to hear back, I went on the Yelp app and saw a few violations--though they did eventually take care of them. With that, the dining area is small and not intimate; if that's what you expect for a nice expensive Saturday evening dinner. The stress was visible on the servers and customers as well. As far as the food, I can't comment on because it was such a mad house that I decided to take all the cues and I left! read more

Every month our group of friends meet in a different restaurant. This month it was Zona Blu. We sat down and it took 20 minutes for our waiter to take our drink order and then we waited another 45 minutes for the food order.Our reservation was at seven and at eight we only had bread on our table. They have paper mat menu like in a diner, a no no in my book, not very romantic If one brings his wife for a special occasion. It took exactly one hour and thirty five minutes to get our food. Their wooden chairs are hard and extremely uncomfortable. When the service is that slow the chairs should at the least be comfortable. The food was decent, I ordered the vegetable soup, it was watered down, tasteless, I was expecting a ticker and heartier soup, what I got was vegetables floating in hot water. My entree was the meat lover pizza, it was very good, I liked the char authentic Napolitan taste. For dessert, I had the cannoli, they were just okay but too sweet, not like my nonna would make them. I came in last year lunch with friends I can't believe I forgot to post my review! All of us enjoyed a lovely selection of well priced wines. We had different appetizers and entrées. I ordered the octopus to share with my friend. It's not normally my favorite dish, but it was absolutely delicious, so we're all the cheeses and desserts. Every single thing we tasted was delicious. We all said we would come back again for dinner and just recommending this place to someone else for dinner reminded me I never posted my review. This restaurant was a hidden gem! For the appetizers we ordered Prosciutto e Burrata con Fichi and the Octupus alla Griglia. The burrata was yummy (can't go wrong with it). I am not big on octupus but it came with some tasteful potatoes. For the entree I ordered the Il Raviolo Sardo Culurgiones and I cleaned my plate! The serving size was just right. My in-law ordered the Ravioli all" Ossbuco e Tartufo and let me just say that I can't wait to return just so that o can order it myself because it was delicious! We were greeted by a very nice gentleman and offered our choice of seating. He brought us water while we decided which meal to order. He was very patient and friendly. We both ordered the Mediterranean Sea Bass, grilled asparagus and sauteed mushrooms. The meal was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The ambiance was very informal and comfortable. I have been to Italy and dine in many restaurants and this was similar. The only downfall, it is very expensive. The wine list was large, but a bit pricey. Located in a strip plaza, definitely recommend making reservations as they were busy the night we went. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. The decor inside is really nice and they do have seating for larger parties as well. The service was absolutely great as the waitress and hostess was very amicable. As for the food, definitely suggest asking them if there are any specials as we discovered there were a few dishes not listed for example the Lobster Ravioli which was absolutely divine and filled with flavor between the sauce being used which could have been a pink vodka sauce accompanied with stuffed lobster in the ravioli and the size of the shrimp was well proportioned with the dish. When it comes to the alfredo that's being done in front of you (like a cheese wheel in appearance) you can order whatever meat you would like or even vegetables mixed in with the spaghetti and alfredo. The alfredo sauce itself was pretty good as it was the right thick and richness of the sauce. The Cassuli was possibly my least favorite dish as the spaghetti shells were a little harder than I am accustomed to having it, the pesto sauce flavor didn't stand out to me in taste and the tuna was very dry. For dessert we had the Nutella pizza which was served on a warm pizza dough style with Nutella on top and powdered sugar. It's a good size to share as you would be able to get about 6 slices from it. The service and setting stood apart from the food overall but I would give this place another shot as they have been at more items that are worth trying and about 8-10 options when it comes to dessert. read more

It was fantastic. I was very pleasant experience, an Italian college of mine recommended since his from Sardinia Italy and it was the closest to the flavor he remembers from there Starting with the service: our server was really great (unfortunately I didn't get his name) he suggested dishes, he was kind, calm and make you feel that you are there to relax and feel good while you are eating, he was checking on us to make sure we like everything and if we want something else but without pushing or rushing us. After we were sit they brought some bread crispy outside and nicely sponged inside. We started with the octopus appetizer that was cooked to perfection, the perfect texture, the flavor was exquisite (grill/smoky) but not overwhelming, it was accompanied by roasted potatoes a bit crispy but in a sauce made out of cappers, black olive (maybe kalamata), grape tomatoes served over arugula... it was the perfect combination. After that we got a pasta Cassio e Pepe in a cheese wheel that was really creamy and pasta texture was al dente and soft but not mochi or overcooked, the served and topped with black truffle, that was the perfect combination and flavor. And we also got a lasagna, again the pasta was so good, the bolognese sauce combined with the bechamel was fantastic. To finish we got the seadas con mielle sardo it was warm and crispy the cheese was melted and the mix between the salty pastry with the honey was amazing and since it was my birthday they brought me a candle to blow with a couple or the staff that were signing alone... it was the perfect touch to finish our evening. read more
