This my sure bet. I am a big fan of all things Mediterranean. When I moved back to Toledo I was worried I would be able to find that fast casual gyro. But this place knocks it out of the park. The ingredients are excellent, meat is cooked and seasoned well but the best part are the sauces and dressings. The "zingo bread" is fabulous. Fresh, healthy, Mediterranean-inspired food in a trendy fast casual environment! I've tried the chicken tawook sandwich Zingo style, the Greek chicken sandwich on pita, and the apricot salad with chicken. The salad was by far my favorite, light but filling with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The sandwiches are also great, but I'm not a fan of the Zingo style thin wrap--somehow it's too chewy for me. I recommend the regular pita instead! Whether you order a sandwich, salad, or entree, Zingo's grilled chicken is the standout in all of their dishes! For sides and such, their feta salsa is perfection, the lentil soup is delicious, and the baklava is some of the best I've had. One final tip/word of warning: Zingo's is SUPER busy at mealtimes and parking can be difficult downtown, so if you can swing a visit at a slower time, do it! I have been a patron of Zingos since discovering it in Perrysburg when I moved back to Toledo 10 years ago. I was very happy to hear that they were opening a location in West Toledo because it's so close to where I live. Unfortunately, in my experience, the service at this location has been just adequate to poor at times and that hasn't improved much in the time that they've been open. My impression is that there is no one there to manage the young staff and teach them how to prioritize and wait on customers. The average wait time to be served for us the last several times that we've been there has been 15 - 30 minutes and that's with, typically, not that many people in the restaurant. read more

First of all, we placed a large lunch order with a couple people that wanted to pay separately. We wanted to have it delivered since it was a work lunch and they would not let us pay separately and count it as meeting their delivery minimum, even though it was all being delivered to the same place. One of us had to pay for everyone and then we all had to pay them back separately. Secondly, the delivery took almost 1.5 hours to arrive. (we are less than 1 mile from the restaurant) At this point, we were halfway through our lunch meeting and the food was cold. Thirdly, one of the orders was incorrect and when we called to fix the situation they put us on hold for ten minutes and we had to hang up and call back. When we finally were able to speak to somebody, they were rude and asked us to bring the incorrect order back to the store, or they would offer us store credit. Both of these options are ridiculous. They finally delivered the correct food 40 additional minutes later. Our delivery experience was terrible and we will no longer use Zingo's for large lunches like this. The food here is delicious and we eat here on a regular basis so we will be back when we have time to sit down in the store, but this customer service experience really changed the way I view the establishment as a whole. I understand a slow delivery time once in a while, but the way it was handled was pretty bad. Hopefully this was just a bad day and these issues can be resolved in the future. read more

We swung through Perrysburg on our way back to Michigan to try out Zingo's for dinner after seeing a Yelp coupon for free dessert with a $20 purchase. The restaurant had a constant flow of customers both dining in and picking up carryout during our visit which is always a good sign. I ordered the original gyro with a regular pita and my boyfriend tried the chicken gyro Zingo's style. If we were to go back, we both agreed we'd choose Zingo's style as it was easier to eat being wrapped and pressed. I though my original gyro meat was in the top three gyro meats I have ever had. It was the perfect texture, large pieces, and full of flavor. We both had a side of rice with our meal and thought the presentation was nice and the flavor was good. We noticed it was not a oily as rice we've had at the Mediterranean restaurants in Michigan as well. I also got chicken rice soup and he tried the meat grape leaves. The soup was tasty and different from the chicken rice soup I get in Michigan in that it was more of a chicken broth base versus a thicker creamy base. The meat grape leaves were tasty but somewhat small in size. For our free dessert, we chose a carrot cake cupcake and my boyfriend loved it. (Apparently it is award winning!) We were really pleased with our meals and thought the prices were fair for the quality of food and portion size. My favorite salad ever. I have lived away from Ohio for a year now and I am still dreaming of the junk salad. Good cookies too!

I was in town for work and was looking for a place that would deliver to my hotel as I was too cold to actually go out and look myself. I looked through Yelp and found this Mediterranean restaurant- it turned out Zingo's was the ABSOLUTE right place! I called and started my very difficult order; no lie, I would get mad at me if I was on the other line taking my order.... I ordered the Original Gyro with double the meat, no cucumber sauce or tomato. The meat was cooked to perfection and was incredibly delicious- I would venture to say it was the best gyro meat I've had. I also ordered Meat Grape Leaves which were extremely tasty. I enjoyed my entire meal. I'm a recruiter for a close by hospital and we often call out to cater some events and interview lunches- Zingo's just made it to the top of the list in my mind. We also bring candidates in for a day or two at a time- I give a list of recommended restaurants for those coming in to town. I highly recommend Zingo's to all. read more

I usually always get the chicken tawook entree which comes with the perfect portion amount. My girlfriend usually gets the chicken gyro "Zingo's style" and she says it's the best she's ever had!! I consider myself a foodie and so last night when I went to Zingos, I had really high hopes after reading the reviews. I ordered the junk salad which had so many wonderful favors and textures. The dressing was a perfect compliment, the portion was wonderful and it just felt like a really light and fresh summer dinner. I didn't feel weighed down or stuffed after. The meal was great but the best part was the baklava I had for dessert. The piece was small but totally worth the three dollars. It had a cinnamon sugar crust that was so fantastic I wished I'd bought a second piece. I can't wait for my next trip back to town so I can go there again. I like Zingo's. I really do. They serve well-prepared standard Mediterranean fare in a charming environment, close to home. Plus, getting carry out here is quick and healthy, which is a great thing for busy, busy me. Zingo's also has yummy smoothies and a juice bar. One of their juices is called the "floo fighter" and it's a gingery-lemony concoction that really knocks the germs out of ya. I watched them make it last time, and they just stick entire lemons and pieces of ginger in the juicer and serve it up. No preservatives there! They also have fresh wheat-grass available for you uber-healthy shot-takers. I don't, however, enjoy being treated like I am a nuisance when I approach the counter to place my order. The employee's at Zingo's consistently seem to have a chip on their shoulders. No matter who I deal with, what time of day it is, what the weather's like, or the current political situation, they are never friendly or warm. They consistently act as if they have much more interesting things to be doing than to make my tea and put my food order in. Is it that hard to smile, be somewhat charming, and possible make witty banter?? Maybe they hate the reggae that's always playing in there. It makes me wanna dance.... read more

This popular place serves good sandwiches. The sandwiches can be ordered on soft pita or Zingo-style which is rolled up in a wrap and griddled. My falafel sandwich, Zingo-style, consisted of crushed up falafel, fresh salad stuff, tahini, wrapped in a thin wrap and griddled. In some ways it was a pleasure to eat because it's not messy and you don't have stuff falling out all over your face and plate. It tasted pretty good too. However, the textural and temperature interest of crunchy hot chickpea balls was lacking - it was just mushy. I tried some gyro meat from a gyro sandwich and I have to say it was quite tasty. Sometimes, reviews are worse because you order the wrong thing. This is one of those times. C'est la vie. read more

The Junk Salad is AMAZING! This is not your average salad - tons of great toppings, wonderful dressing and you are left completely satisfied when you are done. For anyone wanting a good gyro, you may want to try another eatery. The gyro meat is great, but the sauce leaves much to be desired. If you are used to good, authentic gyros, you will be disappointed. The atmosphere is nice. The music and decor are relaxing, although Rasta music in a Mediterranean restaurant do not exactly "match". It can get very loud for lunch, so if you are needing a place to discuss business, this may not be for you. However, if you are looking for a place to catch up with friends, your needs will be met. Unfortunately, the employees still do not make you feel welcome. I frequent Zingo's about once a week, and never have I been greeted with a smile or made to feel welcome. If you really make the effort to get the employees to open up, some will, but it is still a very forced, dry and uncomfortable. I think the dining experience would be much nicer if it was more than the music that made it feel warm in the small restaurant. Was staying at the Courtyard off of 75, where Yelp only noted the Cracker Barrel and Denny's (and gave each 4 stars- OMG!). Asked at the desk, where they suggested driving into historic Perrysberg. Saw Zingo's, which caught my eye, despite heading towards the restaurant next door. So glad we came here instead!! Food was fresh, inventive, and incredibly tasty! Smoothies, coffee drinks, salads, sandwiches, and the biggest cookies. I had the almond rice salad, which was quite good; daughter had spinach pie zing, which was phenomenal!! I was vising a friend in my former home of Perrysburg and wanted to badly to eat at Zingos. When I lived in Perrysburg, I probably ate there about once every 2 weeks. So delicious. When I arrived a few days ago, I was pleasantly surprised that the business has expanded into the next door and there is now about double the amount of seating as there was before! This place was packed on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. I had the Chicken Gyro - nicely seasoned, love the "Zingo Style" bread. Had a side of meat grapeleaves. Perfect texture, perfect amount of tang. I also like their hummus, junk salad, vegetarian gyro, shish tawook.. ok, well everything on the menu is good. Sandwich portions are pretty big and prices are fair. Totally need to get one of the cookies with your meal. They also have a nice selection of cream soda and root beer with alternative sweetners (and some with good 'ole sugar) - kind of a nice treat. The only reason I'm taking a star off is that the wait for our food after we placed our order was a little bit long. Otherwise, I was very satisfied. I wish there was one of these in CLE. read more

I think this is a little secret in Toledo! Of my 3 years in Toledo, this will be the restaurant I remember... I love their Gyro. I've came here for lunch, and the portion is decent, price is good, and the food is just amazing!!! My personal favorite is the cheeseburger gyro, it's got a very unique taste to it. The original is good, and so is the beef kabob. If you're stopping by Toledo, or if you are from Toledo, I highly recommend this place! One of my good friends loves this place and eats here often, so we came for lunch on one of my more recent visits. It has a pretty cool vibe to it, very modern and fresh, but I'm not always a big fan of the setup where you order at the counter, sit down and then wait. I guess it makes sense at fast food restaurants, but aside from that I think it makes me a little bit uncomfortable. But that's irrelevant, it's just a bit of information for anyone who experiences the same social anxieties as I do. I wouldn't say I was quite as satisfied as my friend, but I may have made an uninformed decision when I ordered. I had a regular gyro, but apparently a Zingo style (basically a gyro wrap) was the way to go. It was definitely sizable and I liked their cucumber sauce, but the meat seemed dry to me and it was pretty messy to eat. I believe that's why the Zingo style is a more popular choice for regulars. To put it bluntly, it wasn't one of the better gyros I've eaten in my lifetime. There's a chance I'll be back in the future, I wasn't really disappointed at all but I wasn't in love with it either. I've probably been here at least five times now if not more. Our normal dining companions (not to imply they're normal, I just mean that when we eat out it is normally with them) . I didn't write a review until now as while the food has always been good, something just bothered me about this place. Their space is small, not many tables, and when you walk in it most often seems as though you're not going to be able to get to sit down for all the tables being taken. But every time while you may have to stand and wait a few minutes, a table has opened up and we have always gotten to sit. Plus they seem to be understaffed. They are normally crowded and are kept hopping to keep up with things. This last time I felt sorry for the lone girl who worked the front as she has to take all the orders, bring nearly all the food out to tables, and bus the tables. To her credit she never slowed and worked very diligently. I felt bad about not leaving a bigger tip when I paid my bill on ordering. If I knew her name I would list it her. She has blonde hair. But the food! It is more of a yuppie place, modern, not traditional, and they have made very good decisions about the type of food they serve. Their gyro is my favorite gyro, and it's not that they have the best meat or the best ingredients, though they are excellent. I get the gyro "zingo" style which I guess is one the gyro is made up in the pita, it is grilled. The overall effect is that the gyro stays together well in a cylindrical form. Unlike most place where you get bites which are all meat, some with no meat, Zingo's maintains a balance of the various ingredients which makes it much more satisfying. And too, their portions are large enough to fill me up. This is one of the few places where I like the hummus. The place is extremely consistent in everything too. read more

Last week, 7 family members and I walked downtown to enjoy Zingo's on a Friday evening. They are from the South and a little nervous about trying the Zingo's offerings I had been raving about. So, I ordered kabobs, samplers, the garbage salad, original and chicken gyros (Zingo's style, of course), and finished up with baklava.
