Absolutely charming little place -- great pizza, grilled items and Balkan delights in an elegant but comfortable space. The vibe from the Papraniku family who run the place is upbeat, neighborly and very welcoming. The pizza is really different. If you're looking for a heavy, doughy American style pizza heavy on sauce and cheese, this is not that. It's a lighter and airier crust but somehow also has a little spring to it. I had the popular "Grandma's" pizza. All the ingredients were fresh. Nothing overwhelmed the other flavors. I just loved it. I have also had the cheeseburger (big!) and fries (lots!), chicken kabob dinner and the shepherd's salad. All first rate. Oh! And try the arjan, a delicious creamy-but-not-heavy yogurt drink. Straight-up or on the rocks it's very refreshing. Have not yet tried the Balkan side of the menu but judging from the customers who did, it's done right. One family recommended the sausage platter. They are planning to put seating out front and will be serving beer and wine with food soon. A great date or family night -- dine here and walk over to Lickity Split for dessert if it's a weekend. First off, the staff here is INCREDIBLY friendly!! They are constantly ensuring that the customers needs are met. The food is also AMAZING!! We got the qofte and byrek, 1000/10!! The qofte comes with bread and cabbage/onions, and the byrek comes with kajmak (we got cheese and meat byrek). Everything was freshly made and full of flavor, it was all delicious and perfect!! The environment was also welcoming and very clean. We will definitely be going back!! I highly recommend to anyone looking for Albanian food or just tasty food in general! read more

Excited to have you in the neighborhood. Here is somethings to consider. Your Qoftes are very peppery and salty, mellow it out a little bit. The shepherds salad had good flavor, if you cut the vegetables smaller and peel the cucumber it will be even better. The grandmas pizza, well it needs work. The tomato sauce is straight out of a can and the topping is sparse. The kajmak suspiciously tastes like mayonnaise. Did I make this stuff up, no I know this stuff. I have my 'regular' pizza places that I continue to use, but I will now add Zimi's. My daughter, visiting from Virginia, and I stopped for what we thought would be a quick, nondescript lunch. We could have been in and out quickly, but the food was so delicious, the service so friendly, and the venue so comfortable we sat for nearly 90 unhurried minutes. With a cold bottle of wine from a small liquor store across the street, we enjoyed a superb Balkan meal of Shepherd's very fresh salad (which will be even more remarkable when tomatoes are ripe), and 10 qebapa sausages, with cabbage salad, onions and tomatoes. It's wonderful to finally have a decent restaurant in the neighborhood, although not really my kind of place. We had the pizza, and it was acceptable. Nice staff, good service. Clean place, cute decor, The restrooms were pleasant, Nice atmosphere, except for all the TVs and the music selection. They have four TV screens, I would say maybe one every 10 feet, so it's a great place to go if you really like watching TV while you eat. Each TV is playing a different show, so if there's something for everyone! The music selection was basically disco, so fun but not really my thing. All in all, this will probably be a really nice place for some people, but just not for me. read more
