Discovered this place during the Albany Park flavors walk. The Al Pastor pizza is fabulous. Being from Chicago, different pizza is something to be suspicious of but it is really good. Their thin crust sausage pizza is also very good. Love the crust. This is my "go to" pizza place now. read more

Pizza slices and combos available. Their thin crust game is solid. (Tavern) Due to their location, it's easy to grab a pie and head over to a friend or family's home. Pizza comes out of the oven piping hot and I can make it back to a dinner table fairly quickly enough to enjoy it while still warm. Crust intact. They also offer pasta, appetizers and deep dish. I have tried both styles of pizza. Their thin is best, I'm not yet sold on their deep. The last time I ordered one I picked up just as it came out of the oven. Wish I had looked at the pie prior to taking it home. The bottom was soggy and slices drooped as we grabbed slices. Smh. Everything had to go back into the oven. Based on the ingredients, I'd be open to try again. Well done with a properly baked bottom. The kitchen likes to improvise on pizza styles. Recently they offered an Al pastor pizza with pineapple! So if you're ordering, best to call in and see what new styles are available. Pasta? (Advice to staff: when mixing pasta with sauce, allow them time to bind together. Headed from suburbs to downtown with 3 starving teens in the car who had their hearts set on a stop at a different pizza place for dinner but we were hit with brutal Cubs traffic and the restaurant was too close to Wrigley. Made a plan B but they had a 30+ minute wait. Found Bellonas on a quick Google search. Called to see how busy they were and learned it's carryout with a tiny window bar. The most wonderful employee worked with her boss to set up a table for 5 in the middle of the small shop and had our pizzas ready when we walked in. We had our own private 5-star pizzeria and delicious thin crusts pizzas. Bellonas for the W - salvaged our whole night. Can't wait to go back. read more

This place just lost loyal customers that order at least once a week. This is the second time they got my order wrong. The manager is a piece of work and rude and not customer friendly. After the first time the order was wrong the manager pretty much told me well too bad. The owner eventually called me back and gave me a free pizza to remedy the situation. This second time the manager--Nico-hung up on me. I wonder if the owner knows he has a rude manager running the place. I am sure more people will stop ordering from this place. I heard a rumor that there is a new owner and the quality is not as good. My last deep dishes had a burned bottom. Get some real pizza makers and a professional manager. For another option go to JB Alberto's Pizza in Roger's Park. They have the biggest giant pizza for parties and delicious pizza, way better compared to Bellonas. This is how you do deep dish pizza, great sauce, good amount of cheese, and a great crust! I ordered four deep dish pizzas online on Slice so I could get them before heading back to Nebraska. The pizzas took a bit longer than the estimated time but I had no problem waiting, Bellonas is always worth it! The person at the register even threw in a free soda for the wait. While I was waiting, they brought out their pizzas that they sell by the slice. I was a bit hungover so I bought a couple of pepperoni slices, which also includes a soda with the purchase of the two slices, score! When I tell you that slice brought me back to life! So delicious! All my family is excited that I brought them their own pizzas, even if it is now technically "left over" pizza, it is still the best deep dish we have tasted. This is a fantastic local business, with owners that are very invested in the community. Their pizza is some of the best I've had anywhere! I love their thin crust Chicago Combo pizza with Italian Beef, Italian Sausage, & Giardiniera. The kids love that they do bacon pizza. They have old school RC Cola and now have some desserts I want to try (cheesecake and tres leches). I would love it if they started offering a salad or two on their menu - I love a Greek salad with my pizza! Recently moved from Uptown and exploring local pizza spots and unfortunately was disappointed. -Sauce flavor is great, but it's too watery -Crust is flavorful, but too thin in the base -Way too much cheese My main complaint is there was NO structure. The ratio of cheese to crust was off and it completely fell apart. I love cheese, but I had to pull half of it off to eat the slice. The guy on the phone was nice and I ordered a sausage pizza. It came pretty quickly and it was very good. The sausage is totally baked under the cheese, not on top like most places I've had pizza in Chicago. The crust was OK and the flavor was very good. This place is ridiculous. Tony (the manager) is unprofessional. He calls his female customers "honey" when explaining why a 7:34pm order doesn't get delivered until AFTER 9:45pm. He waited to update the customer until 8:40pm to tell him 20 minutes when we called at 9:22pm and he states he is drivers short. You need to communicate with your customers and redeem you business. I wasn't intending on leaving a review but now feel like I have to... I have ordered, both pick-up and delivery, from Bellona's at least 10 times over the last year or so. The food is defintely better than average, with the pizza being better than most. However, the delivery has been dreadful. Four out of the last five times I have ordered delivery they have either gotten my drink order wrong or simply did not deliver it. The latest time I even specifically told the person taking the order on the phone that I have had issues with not receiving the correct drink order only to have the driver completely forget to bring it. My recommendation: do not order delivery and only order for pick-up. It's unfortunate considering how good the food is. read more

Omg I'm dreaming of this pizza. It was bomb .com like literally. The sauce is so good. We got the thin crust pepperoni and sausage. We had this for the game of thrones finale. This was the greasiest pizza I've ever eaten. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not exactly good either. When I told the guy behind the counter that I was literally in the process of moving into the neighborhood, he told me to take a 2L bottle of soda, compliments of the house.
