Italian Restaurants have perfected a certain decorum of trash talking that I must soon adopt. Framing documentation of a Joe Pesci visit next to the front door is levels of ball I know not. To wait in the queues of O'Hare on an empty stomach is proverbial ignorance. Pasta Fresh is evidence of generational wisdom deep within. Our dishes, gnocchi with pesto and rigatoni with vodka sauce, were testaments to divine timing. Televisions streamed international news to a localized environment - Pope Leo XIV was all the rave. Witnessing the Vatican City celebrate its first American pope, a Chicago native, was the lunchtime content this meal required. My eyes drank in the truth, legacy is smothered in sauce! Let it be known - this spot is a market more than restaurant. You're supposed to buy ingredients and go home. By nature, the odd tables provided feel unbelievably safe to root down heavy elbows. Hats off to this meal, hospitality, and environment. I'll dream of you as I cross the pond this evening!

Hot and tasty made to order? Stopped in at Lunchtime to grab a arancini and panzerotti. Cash only is kind of annoying and difficult to remember but they take checks so there's that. Panzerotti was light and tasty and I opted for the spinach and cheese. Arancini were hot And lightly filled with meat And peas.

First time here and decided to stop by since my boyfriend loves tiramisu (and it's almost his birthday ). Bring cash!! Or checks by the way. They don't have the prices labeled in their to go menu but it's relatively ~$13 per lunch to go plate. My server was super nice and was very helpful. He even gave me free focaccia bread to try while waiting for my food. He also picked my tiramisu for me too. So I ordered the pancetta ravioli and lo and behold got some bread again. Not sure if it's included but loved how there was some bread. The portions was decent for the price and I was full after eating 2/3 of the plate. Haven't tried the tiramisu just yet but will update this as soon as I can! It was about $12 for a rectangular piece. They did have houseware tiramisu and another company selling. I decided to get the house made one.

A neighborhood staple for over 20 years now, I stop in here on occasion. It had been a while since i was in but the owner still remembered me as living up the street. I'm fairly certain that they used to be down the street but operate just fine where they are at now. It's a main stay to get your quick Italian needs and some delicacies. They have great fresh pastas and plenty of staples to get you through. If you call in and order fresh they made some of the very best panzerotti you're ever gonna get. Fresh, and light filled with just the right amount of cheese and sauce. You can order different varieties and can't go wrong on any. I love soups and stews. I went for the Pasta e fagioli (pasta and beans). great for cold winter nights. It used poor people food now selling mediocre versions at best in restaurants all over the place. Here at Pasta fresh for nine bucks you can get a large, fresh to go order good enough for two meals. Filled with beans and fresh pasta I think were like gemelli mini regati pasta. regardless of what it was it was FRESH homemade and plenty of it. The gentleman behind the counter threw in a complimentary homemade tomato Focaccia with my soup. Excellent warm with the Pasta e fagioli. You can't beat the price points either. You can't get the quality of their offerings anywhere else. Jeez I'm getting hungry while writing this. I think I'm headed in there right now. If you try them out it's your loss.

This is an absolute 5 star place for me. I have been here probably 20-30 times before, yet have not…read morereviewed it. Maybe because it already receives so much positive attention, it hardly needs my two cents. But after this latest visit, I decided to "pile on" with my love for this place. First, I must alert you to pay attention to their hours, because they are closed Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. I kicked myself at least once, when I made the 40 minutes drive from home, just to find that I forgot that they were closed that day. This store is a double threat - offering a great take home Italian deli with a plethora of fresh and frozen items for you to prepare at home. This is also a great spot for lunch, with legendary sub sandwiches, and an array of hot dishes to choose from. I often do both. On this visit, from the deli, I picked up some of their marvelous, thinly sliced breaded eggplant, which I always get when I'm there. I bring some to my ex-wife and daughter who love it as well. Just give it a quick cook in the oven, and it's delicious. I also got some of their marvelous breaded potato salad, which is old-fashioned homemade style. From the hot bar, I got a couple of Italian sausage and some meatballs. I buy these ready to eat, but take them home to use for dinners later. That way I don't have to cook them. Obviously, they offer both meatballs and Italian sausage in fresh or frozen as well, which I get when I'm preparing my mom's spaghetti recipe. This time, I decided to try a quart of their frozen Nottoli homemade marinara, which I hadn't tried before. So delicious! I had pasta and spaghetti with sausage that night, and pasta and meatballs the next. On my various trips here, besides the Italian sausage that they are famous for, as well as the meatballs, I like their olives and other salad items, the sandwiches, brocciole, and many other hot Italian dishes for lunch. The rigatoni w/vodka sauce is a killer. Finally, the people have always been wonderful , which is very important to me. Despite being busy, it is well organized and you're in and out of there in no time (or you can sit at the table inside if you want to eat in). The prices are extremely reasonable, and I'm always pleased about the value I get for such a good price. I apologize for no pictures on this review. I always just seem to be focused on my own mouth watering choices, as opposed to a Yelp review when I come here.

Our server, I think his name was Jose, was very professional, courteous, and friendly. He came back to check on us numerous times and was very quick bringing anything we needed. We had the asparagus salad, the Darte salad, the grilled shrimp appetizer, the grilled vegetables, the grilled calamari, the carpaccio of octopus, and chicken Parmesan. At the start, they brought out bread, olive oil and grated cheese. The bread was a little dry on the outside, but it was warm. The asparagus salad was missing something - maybe salt? It just felt like it lacked flavor even though it had Gorgonzola cheese on it. The grilled vegetables, however, were perfect. It was a combination of one longstem, artichoke heart, one long grilled carrot, a couple of slices of zucchini, and a couple of asparagus. We had asked for them to be well grilled and they were sort of, I can't imagine how few grill marks they would have on them if they hadn't done what he had asked. The Darte salad was a nice size portion with mixed greens, golden and regular raisins, and walnuts. The balsamic vinaigrette is nice and flavorful, and doesn't separate the way it can at some places. The grilled shrimp were very good, nicely seasoned and very well charred. The grilled calamari were great, although they were quite small. There were many more of them than on the pictures. The carpaccio of octopus was very nicely, presented with very thin slices of octopus a nice bright dressing over it and the greens. The chicken Parmesan was a very large portion with the breaded chicken cutlet underneath a large layer of cheese ravioli all topped with marinara sauce, and then cheese, which was browned very well, it was very tasty. For dessert we had two different gelato - the maple bourbon, which would go great with a banana cake and the hazelnut chocolate, which was unbelievably flavorful and smooth. The pistachio and ricotta cake looks very good, but we didn't want to get three desserts. Maybe next time!

I saw a Facebook ad for a combination goat hang out and brewery flight (via the Fever app "Brews and Baahhs"). My two favorite things!! (ha ha) So I bought the tickets and was not disappointed. It was one-hour with the goats, then you went to One Lake Brewing down the street afterward for a free flight (and we ended up buying dinner). The owner, David, was there and chit-chatted and answered some questions. Then did a few things around the property while we just hung out and petted the goats. I have never had such an up close and personal experience with a goat. They are a lot like dogs. They were hilarious and very affectionate. They wanted to climb all over us but we were prepared for that. It's a shame that David mentioned they might only be doing this for a year or two more. I'm sure it's a lot to maintain, especially during these crazy times. -But it's very covid safe. For what we did, you can wear your mask and you are left alone with the goats in a huge open pasture - so it's not a people-crowded event. I highly recommend it - it was a lot of fun. In case the number is not on the profile - he gave me a card with contact info: 847-226-9510; glennartfarm.com for more info.
