(Half eaten) spaghetti and meatballs-- it was pretty good and also ginormous

Ordered fettuccine Alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs around 8:50pm on a Saturday, they only do takeout or delivery for perspective, but for a late night snack it was pretty decent and the portions are big. I ate this with my boyfriend I was only able to get through around half of it and he ate almost all of it, it's a giant portion. It stayed hot alllllll the way back to our house (about a 20 minute drive) and the cheese was nice and melty when we opened the container - for takeout the containers r pretty great bc they didn't leak or slip and I accidentally dropped it bc I was carrying too many things :p Four stars bc I wished they had seating or benches nearby They included some nice bread rolls in the bag and it was fresh - as well as they got the food out in around 10-15mins it was pretty quick - good chicago Italian service - these are definitely chicago Italians - good ambiance and late night snack vibe their front door is a little broken but I think it helps w the energy this is definitely a smalllllll business

Looks and tastes like ragu sauce with barilla noodles and the tiniest frozen meatballs. Save your money

Love their Vodka Sauce. I've had it multiple times. Being trapped at home (by doctor), I have it delivered.

Probably the worst carry out I've had in 5 years. Pasta overcooked. Sauce absent. Won't do again.

This place always kills it! I'm always salivating over my order and they have the best tiramisu I've ever had.

My son and his girlfriend have been there many times, and insisted we get the whipped ricotta appetizer and kale salad. Both of these items were top notch, as were the cocktails and we enjoyed. The pasta bolognese that the ladies ordered was delicious. My son had the burger and fries, and it was fine, just not very special. I ordered the "half" chicken, thinking as a bird themed restaurant, the only poultry entree would be a star, but that was not the case. A small thigh and half of a breast was their interpretation of a half chicken, and this was noted on the menu, but the portion was disappointing. The dish was supposed to to be accompanied by polenta with trumpet mushrooms, but two paltry slices of mushroom with a small smear of polenta completed the dish which "artfully" only occupied the left half of the plate, leaving the rest of the plate bare. Small portions aside, the dish was overly salty, to the point I had dry mouth the rest of the night, and the chicken was overcooked. The taste was fine, and the little bit of polenta added enough moisture to make the dish work. The worst thing was the incredibly dull dinner knife that couldn't cut through the mushroom, let alone the chicken, causing me to apply the stab and pull/tear method to get bite sized pieces. Everything thing else was superb. I would go back for the cocktails and appetizers, perhaps grazing the appetizers and a salad as a dinner. The pastas all looked terrific, but I will probably steer clear of the four mains on the menu, as they seem to be the least inspired items to order.

Maybe going shortly after a trip to Italy ruined me a little lol, but I didn't fully understand the hype. The pasta was good, just not life-changing. I've honestly had better pasta elsewhere in Chicago. The agnolotti was my favorite. I liked the balance of flavors with the ricotta filling, although I thought the roe was a little unnecessary. It could've used a different topping or supplement that complemented the dish better. The pierogies were also pretty good. They had decent flavor and were cooked well (actually al dente, which I appreciated). The sauce itself was good, but it wasn't distributed evenly, so some bites had much more flavor than others. The carbonara was just okay to me. It lacked flavor, and I wish the sauce had been thicker and more cohesive. It broke. I did appreciate that the pasta was properly cooked, but overall, I thought all of the sauces could've been seasoned better. I might come back to try some of the other dishes, but I'm not exactly rushing to make another reservation.

No training, no greeting, just 'what do you want to drink' ok. Very rudimentary service. A colleague and I both got the lasagna, hers no meat, mine with meat. We were served the wrong ones. Because there was no meat in mine, I assumed that maybe the sauce had meat until she pointed out that hers was full of little bits of grey looking meat inside the pasta. That said, the meat was not preseasoned or flavored so she could only tell by the texture so too late to complain when you have eaten a third of it, so we did not. It was ok, but I would not return there for the lasagne. The restaurant was not crowded, 6-9pm. They were not too busy to give good service, but service was rudimentary, basic, not particularly polite either, waiter made it clear he was annoyed at people arriving separately and later separate checks. All of us have worked in service industry, none of us were difficult, no one wasted the waiters time by saying stupid stuff, or being indecisive, or sent anything back or complained. Friends pizza had artichoke, she asked me to taste it, it was incredibly salty, a few of us tried it, everyone agreed the restaurant should do something to change that. I told her to let them know, it was horribly salty. The bills came, with the option to pay electronically via the toast app, auto gratuity for 'large group' of 20% was added to each. There were 9 of us in the end, 8 ate food and one just had 2 beers. My bill had automatically added another 20%, I had to show each person how to remove that Extra 20% that was added, (a 40% tip is Not it) we all just paid the 20% large group grat; total tab was around $345, waiter made 20% so at least $70 tip from our table - for taking the order, delivering one round of entrees and mostly one round of drinks. We were there for 2 hours. Lots of empty tables around us. It made me realize how great I was as a server back in the day, and how being made to feel welcome affects whether you would return to a restaurant.

I appreciated that they have ample seating room for eating them at maximum freshness. We ordered the turkey & Brie and roast beef sandwiches. The bread was super fresh with the perfect crunch and chew. No ingredients were skimped upon with the perfect balance of flavors. I loved how the crunchy apple contrasted the slab of Brie on the turkey sandwich, and the roasted garlic aioli brought a great savory balance. The roast beef sandwich was pretty spicy and I loved the slight smokiness of the provolone. We left very satisfied and with leftovers. I stopped in here after seeing posts on social media and I was not disappointed. I ate two of what quite possibly may be some of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The turkey and brie sandwich is out of this world. It has a smokey taste to which is supplemented by the subtle taste thinly sliced Granny Smith apples. The porchetta sandwich is perfectly salty and has perfect portions of meat, greens and fried capers. Both sandwiches are served on the default, fresh ciabatta bread. A true hidden gem, though likely not for long.
