I ordered pizza and to my knowledge I ordered sausage, pepperoni, and onions. What I received was a vegetable pizza with very little pepperoni and lots of vegetables. Not really sure how that happened because I remember choosing the certain items that I chose. However, the crust was soggy because of the vegetables. I would not order pizza again. So happy I finally got to try this gem. It's been on my Yelp bookmark radar for a while, and I recently heard they opened up a second location in Portage Park, so I knew I just needed to get here already to try it. First off - let me just say that I genuinely appreciated walking in here and being welcomed by the staff. As a Colombian myself, there is just something about the friendliness and service by Colombian waitstaff and I got that vibe immediately when I walked in here. The girl who helped me at the counter was very nice and made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. I got a medium sized Colombian style half Hawaiian and half Pollo con champiñones (mushroom and chicken), and we also ordered a caldo de costilla soup to-go as well. The lady allowed us to sit and use a table while we waited even though the restaurant was pretty busy, and she also asked if we wanted water with ice while we waited which was very nice. Overall, very happy we came here. The pizza and soup were both delicious and it's awesome to have a Colombian-owned restaurant not too far from me that actual serves the typical Colombian pizza type that I've had many times in Colombia (thin crust). They *do* also make deep dish pizza which I'd be willing to try here as well. I found the pricing here to also be pretty reasonable which is another reason to return. Will be back! :) read more

I can never remember the name of this Colombian bakery and pizzeria on Montrose, but I know where it is and I know this is a good spot to pick up some tasty Colombian and Latin American snacks. I have sampled their empanadas with beef and potato, chicken empanadas, and papa rellena (stuffed ball of potato and beef) and all are solid selections. My new favorite is the arepa de choclo, laced with sweet corn goodness and topped with some melty cheese - it's a delicious disc. Desserts are good too, such as the yummy alfajor cookie sandwich with dulce de leche, powdered sugar and coconut. I was excited to try the pizza place in our new neighborhood, but what a disappointment. Despite living only 2 blocks away, it took the driver 25 minutes to get from the restaurant to our home. When he arrived, he called and said I had to go outside to his car to pick up my order. I told him he needed to bring it to the door. Didn't know this place existed. Always passed by but was going for some café con leche and a friend suggested we go here because they'd been there and thought it was good. They were not lying! So good that I ordered a 2nd cup! Ordered some appetizers and not the best ,but not the worst either. Columbian food in general is good and this place offers all sorts of items to choose from. We tried at least one of each of the main staple Columbian delicacies- pan de bono, pan de bono with guava , pan de bono con queso( our favs)YUM! And well, it's very very good, the baristas make good café con leche! . The best part, not only does their coffee and food menu offer a good variety, they are open until 9pm daily.. I stop in for coffee here at least 3/4 x's a week. That's how good the coffee and treats are. If you decide to sit and enjoy, the salsa music playing over the speakers will keep you dancing in your seat.. their staff are all attentive and very friendly ,making the whole experience nice. Tip, if you order any of the pan de bonos or empanadas, ask that they warm them up for ( they are alot better warmer. I just noticed they have another location also. The first time I took a bite from a still-warm buñuelo, I blurted out "f--- you , that's good!" Food doesn't normally make me swear out loud, but this was delicious. The buñuelos, pan de bono, and super inexpensive little pizzas keep me coming back. The food is definitely delicious, and even though the pizza is clearly a pre-made crust, you know what? It's tasty and only $7.50. Be forewarned, if you order in advance I am 90% sure they start your order when you arrive. Both times I pre-ordered I had to wait 10 minutes for the pizza. One of the best Latin American food I have had! The tamal and the soup were delicious! My daughter wouldn't let go of the pan de Bono relleno. I especially loved their arepa, though my husband found it dry. During this challenge time, I found them taking the cleanliness seriously! I was skeptical about getting pizza here because I don't know I didn't expect a deep dish pizza place to be also a Colombian bakery, but here we are! First of all, the prices are wonderful-a medium deep dish pizza with tons of pepperoni and veggies came out to under 20 bucks. Plus I was stuffed after 2 slices (which is the norm for me). I would say this is one of the best pizza deals I've ever had in the city. Ok let's get into the pizza. Soooo this deep dish is more like Giordano's style, but much better. The tomatoes are all on top (and there's a LOT of stewed tomatoes on top). The tomatoes were perfectly acidic and not sweet at all (I can't stand sweet pizza sauces). There's an option to get the "veggies" topping which is like a variety of 5 or so vegetables and garlic and we also added pepperoni. I would have liked the pepperoni to be a bit crispier but I figured it would bake softer due to being buried under a foot of tomatoes. We asked for the pizza to be cooked well done so the crust came out crispy and delicious. I thought the pizza tasted great-each slice is absolutely weighed down with toppings. It can get a bit messy to eat, but if you don't mind that then go for it. Probably won't find much of a better deal for a tasty deep dish like this one! read more

Not blaming the restaurant for me my not really enjoying my food. I'm not too familiar with Colombian cuisine. Ordered the chicharron arepa, which came with well fried chicharron on what I considered a dry, tasteless arepa. I also had the shredded beef stuffed potato, didn't care for that either. Rather tasteless. The only thing I really enjoyed there was the awesome Mango drink and the green chile sauce. Our waitress was not at all attentive and let my chicharron dish sit at the kitchen counter while my friend received his dish a good 10-15 minutes before mine came out. read more

Wow!!! What an amazing place! Ordered delivery tonight to try their Hawaiian deep dish and a thin crust... long story short everything is delicious I will definitely be a returning customer! I love pineapple on pizza and I was so excited to see they had a deep dish offering with this! How unique; it tastes as good as it looks. There is even this sweet pineapple jam on it that's just incredible. All the toppings taste like they use quality ingredients - I can't stop eating it's so delicious! Our new go to pizza place in the neighborhood! While we haven't tried their deep dish, their thin crust is legit. It's like tavern style thin but the crust is flakey? I'm not quite sure how to describe it other than delicious. We also got a few alfajores for dessert and it did not disappoint. The person I was with ordered the Fritos con arepa without cheese and bacon con arepa. Definitely suggest getting cheese on the arepa. The bacon is soo crunchy it's almost like a fried pork belly. Only in Albany Park can you get great pizza from a Columbian bakery! Believe the other reviewers. The staff is welcoming and works with that organized energy you see and feel of well run, successful food stop like this. I've only had their Pizza to date but intend to stop back and try some of the other specializes. I generally find that what separate's good Pizza from not good pizza usually starts with the crust and sauce. The crust on their Pizza's is light and crispy and they cook their pies to perfection. I rarely go to the city but when I do, I am always sure to look up a Colombian bakery since it is the only area in the state that has traditional Colombian food and I am a native. I was recommended this place by a friend and I am pleased they did. The service was decent, most employees were very kind and they had a huge variety of options. I ordered so much food and it was all so good but here is where the rating drops. I asked the girl taking my order if they had a bread with cheese in it and she said yes but when I got home it only had cheese on top and was plain inside. I was extremely dissapointed by this because it was one of the more pricier items and I wouldn't have gotten a plain bread (which was stale anyway) if I knew this one didn't have cheese! Next, I asked her for a coconut lollipop and a strawberry one and she ended up giving me completely different flavors. The yuca bread was really hard and had an old taste to it. I could tell it was sitting there for a few days. I asked for a colombian soda and she didn't give it to me. I spent well over $50 as a first timer here and would have expected to have exceptional service rather than simply satisfying. I would come here again and still recommend for others to try but I'll definitely be paying more attention to my order/what they have sitting out. The food and establishment alone is great but there needs to be improved training with the employees. Literally one of the best Colombian bakeries in the Chicagoland region. Not only do they have a great selection of signature Colombian pastries (all fantastic in their own right), they also craft some of the best pizzas I've ever eaten ever. Even popular pizza chains like Lou Malnati's and Giordano's pale in comparison. As far as what to eat, you truly cannot go wrong. If you arent familiar with Colombian cuisine, pandebono's are a great place to start. They are pastries made with cheese that are practically made to eat with coffee (another thing these guys do great, it is Colombian coffee after all). Buñuelo's are a similar type of cheese pastry, but have a crunchier texture to them which make for some lovely flavor. If you're in the market for something savory, try a beef empanada! I have yet to have an empanada that is as good as this one. Once you have 1 Colombian empanada, especially with Ajì salsa, you'll see what I mean. Personally, if i choose a pastry, I drink coffee or avena (a Colombian house made oat milk) with it. If I'm eating something savory, I order a mango juice (in water). Now lets talk about pizza. One pizza you gotta eat is the signature Colombian style pizza (deep dish or thin crust, it wont matter, it'll be great regardless). This pizza has pieces of ham, pineapple, and pepperoni. Personally, I would love if they carried bacon as a topping, as it would be a great substitute for ham and it adds a nice crunch that the ham doesn't do, but regardless, it is a great pie. You may cringe at the fact that there is pineapple on this pizza, but let me tell you firsthand that once you have it, you'll be ordering it regularly. It may seem odd to the everyday "red pizza sauce" kind of pizza eater, but we were put on this great planet to enjoy life to the fullest and fully awaken our palette and our minds to the beauty of food and the people that make it. This place is the local, underrated hole-in-the-wall and excels in crafting the best Colombian food in the area. If you are even thinking of coming here, let this review push you over the edge.
