Had the quarter dark chicken... A leg and another piece that wasn't very dark. Thick, flavorless flaky breading. The sides were pretty good. The roasted potatoes had been brined with too much salt, but aside from that were quite tasty. The slaw was likewise good but too creamy. The yeast roll was the best part, actually. read more

I don't know anyone (and neither do you) who enjoys breakfast-for-dinner more than I do, but to be perfectly honest, the only reason I triedm this place is because it was located about 100 feet from my motel room door and it had been a long day. That's also why I'm going to keep this brief. I had the house breakfast skillet (two eggs, hash browns, veggies, ham, sausage, AND Bacon, cheese). Every individual component was cooked perfectly (no easy feat in my opinion). The place is small and unfortunately, we were seated next to a group of teenagers who were crazy loud and annoying. I tried not to let this affect my review, but it was a factor. I'll start off saying the workers were fairly nice. The entrance is not very visible and looks like it's part of a different building. I ordered the Red, White and Blue French Toast. The presentation was not very neat and the whipped cream had a strange after taste to it. The french toast itself was okay. I was expecting more items on the menu, but it was fairly small, couldn't find pancakes at all. Wouldn't really call this a breakfast place. It was a bit dirty on the inside. Have eaten here several times over the last few months. Today was a horrible experience. My wife ordered Chicken Parmasan, Son ordered a stack of pancakes and I ordered corned beef hash, 3 eggs over medium, bacon, sausage and a biscuit and gravy.. I guess 1 out of 3 isn't too bad. They brought food out. Chicken Alfredo for my wife ( note above for what she ordered) my sons pancakes and my order. We sent my wifes order back since it was wrong and told waitress to put my plate under warmer because we like to eat together. 10 minutes or so they bring her order out and mine back over medium eggs had runny whites corned beef hash burnt, hash browns cold, biscuit and gravy cold. Told her to take it off my order. still had a 29 dollar bill. when I told her after paying that i was going to get something to eat for myself her response was "Mistakes Happen". We both had nothing bad to say as it was just what we wanted. Unfortunately the hours Yelp posted were wrong and we arrived a half hour before closing. I've made correction notes. Honestly had a terrible experience. There is no social distancing, I was sat at a booth and within 5 minutes a coughing woman was sat directly behind me sharing a backrest. When I asked to be moved I had to move all my stuff with no help from the waitress. No employees are wearing their masks properly. Everything on the table was filthy and grimy. I was on a lunch break so I didn't have time to send my food back when it was made wrong. Then when I went to pay out they fought with me about if I had ate any of it, which I hadn't. I asked for a manager and she said he was out and there was no way for me to contact him at all and she had absolutely "no idea" when he'd be in the restaurant. If you're going to stay open during a pandemic at least try to look like you're doing something... read more

We travel with two wheelchairs(one today) and we were able to easily get into the restaurant and navigate to an appropriate table for a wheelchair. Portions here are huge! Entrees come with biscuit/toast AND grits/pancake/homefries/French fries! We got one entree (Mexican omelette $7.99) and a side of eggs and bacon. That and one coffee came to $14.74! Great! Service was pretty good. One of the waitresses did scream at someone to leave... which I'm not used to but a local told me people come in the diner and ask for food for free rudely. Oh- and to note another person's review- this place does NOT feel liberal. We went two mornings in a row while in town for a Volleyball Competition and it was a great diner experience for all of us. All in all - not great. Is it edible? Yes. Would I ever pay to eat here again? Absolutely not. I tried the Missouri Omelet with hash browns and biscuits with gravy. Apparently they don't thaw their frozen peppers and onions before adding them to omelets because mine were ice cold. The meat in the omelet was subpar (diced ham and frozen steak). The biscuits tasted and felt like stale hamburger buns. And the gravy was either canned or from a powder - no flavor. It was like watered down Elmer's Glue. The only redeeming quality was the service. That's the only reason I didn't give one star. To sum it up, even if you're staying next door, it's worth the extra drive to go somewhere else. read more
