Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and left me feeling embarrassed rather than relaxed. About ten minutes into my massage, the masseuse asked if I was pregnant. As any woman who is NOT pregnant (or trying to get pregnant or miscarried) can understand, that type of comment can be incredibly hurtful and immediately changes the tone of what should be a calming and restorative experience. It is simply not an appropriate question to ask a client unless the client has already disclosed that information themselves. I brought my concerns to the gentleman at the front desk afterward, hoping for a more thoughtful or empathetic response. Instead, I was met with a passive acknowledgment that my "suggestion" would be passed along. Respectfully, this should not be framed as a suggestion from a customer, but rather as a matter of professionalism and client care. If pregnancy status is relevant for treatment purposes - which I understand it is - then that information should be gathered discreetly through intake forms ahead of time - not through personal assumptions made during a massage appointment. What should have been a relaxing and enjoyable return to a spa I once loved instead became an uncomfortable and hurtful experience. Whether the remainder of the massage was objectively below the standard I remembered or simply overshadowed by the interaction, I cannot say. What I do know is that I left feeling disappointed, self-conscious, and far from relaxed. I sincerely hope Sole Spa takes this feedback seriously, because long-time clients should leave feeling cared for and respected - never humiliated.

When we arrived we were told they're unable to honor requests because they don't allow reservations of the private rooms. This is not clear on the website. So we were given massages in the common room area. The massage started with us both fully clothed - we had to ask towards the middle of the massage if we could at least remove our tops. I didn't know their full body massages were given fully clothed. It was pretty uncomfortable at times because they were reaching underneath our garments and stretching out our shirts and still unable to get directly to the muscles they were targeting. It also would've been nice to be told to take our jewelry off for that same reason, reaching underneath my necklace and my husband's chain kind of ruined the experience for the both of us. Lastly, for clients who are African American, offering the courtesy of at least asking if we'd like our hair touched during the massage would've been appreciated.

It was a thank you gift for him for helping her move. Unfortunately, shortly after getting the gift, my husband had to head out of town to care for his mother (who is battling cancer). After spending most of that month caring for her, he returned home for a weekend and I tried to book an appointment for him using his gift certificate. The woman working there said that the gift certificate was only valid for 30 days (and 35 days had passed). I explained the situation my husband had been in, and that he had been unable to use the certificate until now. (What kind of business only gives 30 days to redeem a $100 gift certificate?!?) Anyway, the woman there did not care at all about the circumstances, maintaining that the gift certificate had "expired!!" and they had "new management!" (After 35 days? Ummm ok). I asked for the owner to call me to discuss this situation, but I never received a call. The name for this business is ironic. Yes, "they won" my friend's hard earned $100 and gave NOTHING in exchange for it, a mere 35 days later. My friend works as a nanny, and I'm sad that she lost her money to a business with such poor business practices. It would have cost them nothing to honor this gift certificate 35 days later. Instead, they have lost thousands of dollars of future revenue from us and from everyone we have warned away from this place. Parking is a bit hard because the plaza itself is just extremely busy. They have additional parking on a hill that looks like a far walk but there are stairs that make it a lot easier. It's a no frills place, not super fancy. The room we were in was small but not super cramped with 2 massage tables. They really do a good full body starting with you laying on your stomach. They do your back, shoulders, neck, legs as well as a hot stone. Warning because they didn't tell us: the hot stones after being on your back on top of a cloth is then used to rub your legs and back/shoulders. And it was still hot lol. After that they flip you over and do your scalp, arms, legs and some pressure points on the face. They gave us a small water bottle on the way out. Everyone was very friendly! I recommend calling in advance for a reservation and paying in cash if you don't want that credit card fee that they charge (like 3%?). And if you prefer someone strong, tell them that when you make the reservation.
