Things started off little rocky for my Sunday appointment for the infrared sauna, but Parker gave me great customer service and turned my experience all the way around. I really enjoyed this. Oh wow!! I went here before so I kind of new what to expect, but either way his place is AWESOME!! Trust me, you feel so free and relaxed like never before. When you step in, it's like warm and has a ton of epsom salt in there. Don't worry if you can't swim like me, because the salt water will keep you floating for as long you are in there. This time my boyfriend and I did it for 90 minutes. You get your own chamber to yourself. Make sure you don't swallow the salt water at all. There were a few times I had to wash the salt water out my eyes. After your float you get 5 MINUTES to wash off and clean up. If you're black or a mixed chick like me you'll need to prep your hair wash time with your float lol. I was supposed to float for 90 minutes but I shaved off 20 for hair care. I took a bag with gym essentials (extra underwear, change of clothes, deodorant, hair care stuff, face wash, and bathing suit bottom). You can float naked if you want, but my lady bits below are sensitive so just to be sure I wore a bikini bottom lol. Atmosphere: Quiet, dark, a little less polished than I would've liked. Location: Located in a strip center in Little Five Points with several other businesses nearby. Service: Attentive and simple. Offerings: I tried the flotation room for 60min and the infrared sauna. Both were an interesting solitary experience. The flotation room is a small tank filled with salt water where they recommend you turn off all lights and just float. You do have the option to keep the lights on. You need to shower before and after the floating and be careful not to get salt water in your eyes! Infrared sauna was 135 degrees an I was in there 45 min. I don't like being hot so it wasn't my favorite thing but I've heard there are so many benefits. Didn't really feel differently afterwards but I hope it did some good. I also live in south Florida and have daily access to a salt water pool and the ocean so perhaps this wasn't the right service for me. The silence inside the chamber felt unnatural. I prefer the sound of waves, seagulls or relaxing music. I left the water chamber after less than 10 minutes and opted to wait for my massage in the reception area. The visit was a birthday gift and selected based on reviews and images from website. The images on the site are false advertising and clearly photo shopped. I took photos of the float chamber and reception area. There is rust in the shower area and float Chamber. Paint is peeling from the doors and the ceiling. The ceiling also has water spots. The odor inside the Chamber was musty and unbearable. It also didn't look particularly clean. When I arrived, I noticed the facility itself had an odd, musty odor. Perhaps it's due to the float therapy and being wet much of the time. There is tea and water available with refined white sugar. Wow what an incredibly relaxing experience! I had my first float at FLO2. I bought a "3 float" groupon wanting to see if sensory deprivation lived up to the hype, and it did!! FLO2 is in the heart of Little 5 right across from Vortex. There's free parking in the back which is convenient considering how difficult it can be to find parking in Little 5. During my first float, I didn't what to expect or experience, so I was probably a little anxious. The temperature of the water was warm and perfect. I shifted around a lot and had trouble letting go and relaxing until close to the end of my session. On my second float, after knowing what to expect, I was able to let go within a few minutes. My racing mind went clear and I was totally carefree - not worrying about emails, texts, news, anything. I could focus on anything but chose not to, and it was refreshing. After my float, my body and mind felt lighter, relaxed, and more carefree. I can't wait for my next float session and I highly recommend trying it! read more

Did a double float and couples massage with the hubs. We were both in our own float chamber. It was the first float experience for both of us. For starters, I am now a fan of floating. I can see why it might not be great for everyone (I was in the Oasis tank - you are in the dark in a large metal container), but I found it VERY relaxing. The whole natural salt water buoyancy is pretty trippy; I put in the ear plugs provided, used the head float, closed the hatch, and zoned out for an hour. I am very Type A (and we are in the process of buying/selling/moving) so this was perfect for me. Hubs was in one of the tile rooms, which has optional in-float lighting. He turned off the light and fell asleep - 'nough said. If you are uncomfortable in smaller spaces, you need to tell the folks specifically that you want a tiled chamber, not Oasis. We also did a couple's hot stone massage, and we were both satisfied. Our masseuses did a lovely job. I don't do a lot of massages, but they use a "dry" oil so I didn't feel greasy afterwards, which was nice. Now to address some of the complaints I've read. FLO2S is in the basement of a very old building in Little 5 Points. As noted elsewhere, this is not a fancy Buckhead spa. Yes, the ceilings are low. Yes, the photos were taken with photography lights , and probably when they first opened, several years ago. Hubs, who is much more sensitive to smells than I am, did not notice anything musty. I don't know what the space was before, but in a building that old, there are some stains that just don't come out. It smells like mildew and cheap burning incense. It was also very dark in the lobby area. The massage was not of high quality and the carpet under the massage table was dirty and dingy. I purchased the "Halloween Special Float" for two, 90-minute float sessions. While I found some relaxation in the water, the mildew and overall uncleanliness made it difficult for me to get comfortable. My recommendation: do your research before making an appointment! I've been on the hunt for a regular spa in Atlanta, but after my two flotation experiences at FLO2S, I will not return. The spa is very run down, with only dim lighting and incense to cover odd sights and smells. The staff are friendly if you have any questions, though, and they walk you through the process if it's your first time. My first flotation experience was interesting. It was in one of their cave-like flotation chambers, which was essentially a shallow pool in a small room. The water was lukewarm, at best, and the only illumination was provided by a black light that you could turn off if you wanted. Outside the chamber was a shower/changing area. While there was some evidence of upkeep, the mildew and the rust were hard to ignore. Once I did, though, I found peace and relaxation while floating. My second flotation experience was worse than my first. It was in their Oasis Tank, which is smaller than their chambers and does not come with optional lighting. While this makes for a great sensory deprivation experience, it's not ideal for those who don't enjoy small, enclosed spaces. Wanting to make the most of my experience, I left the tank door open to let in some light. Big mistake. Once I got in, I saw that the entire perimeter of the pool was surrounded in mildew, which made for a very uncomfortable float. Even if I'd closed the door before looking around, the stench of mildew that permeated the tank would have been noticeable. Do better, FLO2S! While I'm glad I purchased the "Halloween Special" as opposed to a single $75 float, I wish FLO2S let you choose where you float. Had I done my two floatation experiences in the chamber, my review may have been different. The guy at the desk was helpful walked me through the whole process. I chose to use one of the chambers. After showering getting in and comfortable it took a little to relax. Even with the ear plugs you can hear outside noises I don't know if it was the pipes or the establishment above since they were on a lower level. Float went well. So I was in town with time to kill, super stressed, and needed to relax. My trip to this business was not planned at all. I did the ionic foot detox and the 90 minute float session. My total was about $120 for the services. Being completely honest, I feel like the ionic foot detox was a waste. I did not know the purpose or benefit and neither did the employee assisting me. I didn't know what to expect. I sat with my feet in a foot bath for 30 minutes while this machine did something which caused the water to change. I can say it was relaxing to just sit and do nothing. The float session was amazing. They explained that I had to rinse off beforehand, gave me some moldable ear plugs, and explained to me other intricacies about my experience. I had such a good, relaxing time. It was just me and my thoughts uninterrupted. I tried to closing the door to heighten the experience but my nerves were too bad to do it. Recently went to Flo2s over the weekend, and the experience was not good. I went to get a massage to destress and get a little bit of relaxation, but I unfortunately didn't receive that. My masseuse was very kind but she talked for the entirety of the 60 minute massage about all of the things that were on her mind/stressing her out....I feel like her stress was the focus of my massage, and I left feeling more tension than when I came because of that. At times I'd stop responding for long intervals, but when that didn't work I just let her talk because I could tell she must've had a lot on her mind. I hope she's okay, and that things work out for the best, but I hate that I spent money to take a break from my own stress and ended up inheriting someone else's. I had my first float here. Upon arrival I was greeted quickly and the guy who worked there was very nice. He had me fill out a waiver on an iPad. He asked was it my first float and I said that it was. He walked me back to the float room. He explained the whole process. He said to put in my earplugs first and then take a shower. He said to get the provided washcloth wet with shower water and take it into the tank with me should I need to wipe salt away from my eyes or something like that. I put the washcloth where the pool noodle and headrest are so it wouldn't get salty. About the float. I stepped through the half sized door and into the water. When I first got in I liked that the water was not hot or cold. It was just right. At first I'd left the door to the float tank room open because I thought it'd be more comfortable for me that way. Also the guy said it can get a little warmish in the room. I put the noodle behind my neck and started to float. I chose to leave the interior lights on the whole time. At first I thought that 90 minutes was going to seem super long. However, I realized that I hadn't really relaxed yet. I realized that my shoulders were tense like I wasn't trusting the float. I realized I had tension in my leg and face too. Once I just fully relaxed and was comfortable with floating I started to feel the benefit. About 15 minutes in I realized the parts of skin that were above the water were a little chilly. I sat up and closed the door and that made it better. I tried rolling over and floating on my belly with the noodle keeping my mouth above water and that felt ok for a bit but isn't nearly as relaxing. I flipped back over and totally zoned out coming close to falling asleep at one point. About 5 minutes before the music came on to signal that the session was over I'd sat up and was just doing some stretches. All-in-all it's a really pleasant and relaxing experience. I totally recommend it. The only minor downsides and it's not enough to ding a star rating is that the interior could use a little updating. There is exposed insulation at the base of the door frame in the tank room that looks like it's due to moisture. More info, in advance, from the very nice staff might be helpful to better prep first timers. Here's a few tips; 1. Don't come in from the front off Moreland Ave NE, bad first impression. Go around the back to Euclid Ave NE. There's parking and you don't need to go thru the front building, downstairs, back outside in order to find the door. Weird smells in front building...skip it. 2. Think hippie dippie more than luxury spa. It's not luxury, it's functional. Could use a candle for relaxing smell, full length mirror to check your clothes, theres very few extras. I'll bring another towel next time. See below... 3. Don't plan on having a dressing area. No space to dry your hair, although they do have a blow dryer. No space to put on makeup, but there's a mirror in the dark lobby area. Must get dressed outside your shower, tricky putting on nice pants without getting them wet. Two towels would be helpful so you can have one on wet hair and one on the wet floor. 4. After massage and float, you feel almost drunk, in a good way. You're so relaxed that once you leave, everything outside is a bit assaulting. I used Uber and was so glad I did. And don't make big plans after unless it's also quiet and relaxing. ______________________________________________________ HOWEVER... 5 STAR MASSAGE- Excellent, deep tissue massage with Cody. The floating (isolation tank) experience was fun but: (1) Got a long hair stuck to my hand at one point (I have a crew cut)--kinda hard to get back into the "blissful" mindset after that. (2) They BLASTED the music at the end (suddenly, with no ramp-up) to mark the end of my time. Very jolting. (3) The changing area is pretty gross. Super low ceilings and you have look out for rusty pipes or you'll hit your head. I asked the attendant where I was supposed to pee if I had to go, and he was pretty much at a loss of words. I took his reaction to indicate an unspoken acknowledgement that everyone just pees in the changing room shower. (4) The tank room is not soundproofed at all. I heard trucks outside, floorboards creaking, other random things like that. Also, just a tip for other newbies: It took me a little while to figure out just how little movement is required to make waves in the pool that will cause you to repeatedly bump into walls. If you let the water settle and just try to minimize your movement, you'll end up getting to a point where you can rest comfortably in the "middle" without constantly brushing up against the sides. read more

Ive used this facility twice. I wanted to use up all my 3 visit allowances feom my purchase on groupon. I decided not to return even though I paid for the 3rd as well. The first one of its kind in Atlanta. I like the service and having met both owners, they are wonderful ppl. But i really wish it had more of a relaxing vibe to it. Any place Where I am geting spa like services I would prefer if they had a spa like feel. I think it definitely needs a woman's touch in a big way. As for the chambers. They are large sized. However, the shower and dress/undress area isn't really comfortable. Not enough space for hanging clothes properly or even a sitting place while getting dressed. A mirror even? I just went on a coupon deal. I was a bit concerned about whos all been in the water but the part-owner explained how it works. They take 1100 pounds of magnesium salt and dissolve it in 10 inches of water. That is a huge salt amount so it should kill anything! Plus the run it through a filter between clients and put it under a UV light. So I presume that's great. The room has a shower. It also has a washcloth, towel, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner in dispensers. He gives you silicone type ear plugs too to keep the salt out of the ears. There is a row of mini lights and you can turn them off if you like. When you put the handle down they slowly go off. Took me awhile to get it. You have a locking door to your little room and then a mini door that closes to your chamber of salt solution. There is a motion detector so when you move out of the chamber the light goes back on. You don't have to bring a thing- no towel no shoes no nothing. Your the only one in the room so you don't have to wear anything either nor deal with wet clothes to carry out later. I lost track of time. He said music would come on when its time to get out. He would also pound on the wall if I didn't hear it as he can tell when a light is on. It is quite relaxing. One could fall asleep in there. You don't really have urges to move your head as the salt helps support it. After a few minutes you let go and let the water carry you. They have someone that comes to give massages too and there is a full spectrum red light in a sauna you can buy time in. You can reserve online. When I drove home I realized I was MUCH MORE relaxed than when I drove over. It took me a bit to realize that. There is also a lot of magnesium in the solution which is a relaxer and it reduces blood pressure too. Now salt can raise it so lets hope they cancel either other out! I fell just fine right now. Should you go?? Well if your the kind of person that always wants to try new things and the cost doesn't bother you go for it!!! For the price sensitive they do offer promotions--google them. This is a review of their float tank/sensory deprivation chamber. FLO2S' tank isn't like the pretentious space pods you see floating around Google images. However, it gets the job done when it comes to rejuvenation. For first-time floaters, you'll mostly spend the first half of the float getting adjusted to the feel of floating. I felt the effects of the tank at the end of last 30 minutes, where I must've went into a light sleep. The real magic happens when you step out of the tank and back into the showers. Your head will definitely feel a zing. I would say this first session alone was like 5 days of intense meditation session, if you've ever dabbled in that area before. This was a good tool to help me get back into meditation after a long hiatus as well. Definitely looking forward to my next visit. Tip: Before going in the chamber, be sure to dry your face. I was extremely excited to come have this experience. The idea of floating in water, weightless for an hour or more, seemed like heaven to a born loner like me. My boyfriend and I arrived on time for our appointments and were greeted by a friendly and warm woman at the counter. After filling out a brief form via iPad, we were escorted to our rooms to begin the float process. She did a good job of explaining what we would experience. She told us to insert earplugs and to shower before we got into the float. The rooms are a small shower with a small square door within. You pull the door open and your float room is inside. It's (at a guess) maybe 15 feet by 15 feet. The water is shallow so you will feel comfortable floating gently. A line of small blue lights lines the wall along with a small switch which you can turn off if you're ready to be in total darkness. I showered and got in and adjusted a bit. Pillows are provided in case you don't feel comfy letting your neck go. I used it at first but then ditched it when I got more comfortable and far preferred it without it. One disclaimer: While this is a relaxing experience it can also be a disorienting one. After some time floating I became aware of a strong anxiety in my chest, like a ball. I'm glad I was able to become aware of it, but the float is a lot like meditation in that it leads you to focus on your interior world. One of my issues with the float is that I was cold (I tend to be in most circumstances). I'd say the water was slightly cool - a few notches below lukewarm. There was no way to adjust it that I saw. I held out for a while but eventually got out so I could get warm in the shower. This was easy to do but I'd rather stay in. Afterwards I chatted with the massage therapist and she explained that water could be made warmer so they could do that for me next time. It's a good experience and I'll be going back. I came here initially for the floatation chamber, which was pretty cool. My Ukrainian friend swears by them for endurance training. I would probably come here for that again, especially if there is a coupon deal. But, what I am not so crazy about was my massage... or should I say, the massage therapist I got. I think her name was Megan (looking at other reviews, rings a bell--short, late forties, that reddish hair color that everyone had in the 90s?) Maybe next time I will ask for the guy instead. This was my third float and first experience in this business. Parking can sometimes be challenging in this part of town, see my tip. My first impression of the business was fresh and inviting, there's vibe to that's very relaxing, not the typical floral spa or an overbearing smell of Lavender. There are two float tank options at the location in addition to inferred sauna and massage therapy. I chose the 'cave' room to float. The room has a shower and changing area before opening a door and seemingly stepping into the wall which houses the tank. The building is old and full of character. There are water pipes running through the main room but are isolated from the room with the tank. Install earplugs, shower off any lotions, gels, or oils and enter the 8'x6' tank. There is neon lighting illuminating the room with the option to shut off for complete darkness once the door is closed. I would recommend taking a "fresh water" damp wash cloth (provided) in the tank with you just in case you forget where you are and touch an area around your eye. 800 pounds of saltwater can be very unforgiving. My hand eczema improved dramatically overnight after my first float! The dead sea salt water worked better than any prescription pills or creams. For real. I was really happy with my experiences here. There are three Floatation rooms: two of them with normal ceiling heights, and one that was a sensory deprivation chamber, which is more like a vat you climb into that has a ceiling about 2 ft high. If you are unsure of which to do, call them up. The customer service by the owner as well as the other young gentleman who works there, is really wonderful! They make sure you are comfortable and that all your questions are answered. The Infrared (IR) therapy reminded me of a small, not hot sauna room. I'm not sure if I'd do this again, but it is definitely worth experiencing just so you can see what it's like and decide for yourself. The lobby is small and unassuming, with a water dispenser, so feel free to bring your water bottle. First time trying flotation therapy and it was awesome. The staff was friendly. Facility had a good vibe and was clean. I will be back.

It was needlessly complicated to even schedule our float and massage here but I could see past clerical errors. Upon arriving for our float, the showers were not very clean. The mat on the ground didn't look particularly well cared for and there was hair and other things by the drain from previous customers. I tried to see past that and enjoy my float. I could still hear noise in the room which was very disappointing. There was also a very cold drip from the ceiling. Afterwards, we had massages that were pretty rough. I give 2 starts instead of 1 because Imani was very sweet and lightened pressure each time I asked. Unfortunately both my husband and myself have literal bruises (mine on my left shoulder blade and his on his wrist) afterwards. This was a major disappointment after reading such great reviews. Also floats were way overpriced for unclean rooms that didn't have complete silence, even with earplugs. Will not be returning. read more

My wife and I were excited to have our first float. But I was let down... My experience was severely thwarted by the cold drips every 45 seconds to a minute. When I came out and told the guy, he said and I quote 'bummer'. Then I expressed my discontent with the girl ready to take my money and she said 'yeah, he forgot to wipe down the ceiling. I'll give you $10 off.' While I did feel relaxed, this experience is sold by saying it is sensory deprivation. I do realize it is merely sensory reduction, but the staff should do everything in their power to make it as close as possible to what it is sold as. After driving 2 hours for this, overall I was let down and didn't feel like anyone really cared. read more

Fantastic relaxing experience. The feeling of peace flows over you when all you can hear is your own breaths. I recommend total darkness and move your legs back and forth to create a gentle rocking motion. read more
