Tv in the private room
Ashley L.

I went for the first time on Saturday. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect. When I came in I was greeted by a nice young lady. She told me which room to go into to. So when I got in I was slightly confused on how to work it, but then noticed they had basic instructions on the door. I just wished for the first time someone guides you. I like that I can watch TV as I sit. The temp gradually rises after time so it's a nice distraction. You are able to lower the temp if needed. But even still 40 minutes can be a lot so bring water (or a bottle. They have a water machine). And don't be afraid to open the door once in awhile if you need a break. I definitely did. I burned about 300 calories in there! Overall a good experience. I will definitely be back!

Friendly staff, super clean establishment, hassle free, I used the app to book rooms/ sessions... The room is always ready when you walk in.. As soon as you get there, check in with the front desk and you on your way... Each pod has towels and tv in there for you. Always bring water with you because you will need a few sips during the session.

Received a free session while at the Candler fall festival and was able to use it the next day. My fiancé and I were able to book together to share the room. Upon arrival we were treated with a lot of respect and given a tour of the facility by Jayla. They also had water and fresh juice options near the reception desk. The rooms are perfect and the doors don't lock for safety but they close tightly so no heat escapes. There are TVs in each room and you have your pick of what to watch from Netflix to you youtube and other options. You can get undressed I. The rooms and step right into the sauna. Each sauna can be set to the temperature of your choice and if you want extra properties there are different color light therapy which all have special benefits. We chose purple to relax the kind before cutting all lights off to relax. It was a great experience and Kayla helped us figure out all membership options. Seems like the best would be 4 sessions a month. I will be back to take advantage of them all.

I was a skeptic about this place, but after one session I am figuring out which membership to purchase. I will be detailed with my experience, but know that yours will be your when so might be very different than mine. The building is brick painted white with black accents that give it modern look. Actually looks like what I vision for my house update. I have some of the same sconces save in my All Modern favorites. I digress. It is easy to find with Google Maps and has a parking lot with plenty of spaces. When I entered I was greeted with my name. I assume I was the only one with an appointment at the time I walked, but I didn't ask cause it was nice. Later I realize many people as regulars so it being my first time might have made it easy for her to know my name. I was taken on a tour and given the breakdown of what would occur during my sauna session. She was very kind and confirmed that I can adjust the temperature and step out into my room as it is a sauna in its own room. I love the privacy of my experience. Check out my photos so you can see for yourself. There is lots of room for changing and cute places to hold your stuff while you sweat. Yes, it is recommended you are in the sauna in your natural state. I was a little hesitant, but trust me when you start sweating you don't want anything next to you. I'm getting ahead of myself. After my tour I was taken to my room and it was the bigger one that is L shaped. I told her she spoiled me so now it might be hard to downgrade to the bench size. Just kidding, I'll take any of them. She closed the door and let me be. Tip- you should be in the sauna for 40 mins, but they schedule your session for 55 minutes so you have time for changing and etc. Tip- keep your Fitbit or iWatch on so you can use your timer and count calories. Tips- bring flip flops and wear clothes that are loose and easy to put on after lots of sweating. So once I was in my natural state I entered the sauna. The starting temp was 145. They have Chromotherapy lights in the sauna, I didn't know too much about chromotherapy, but they just had an episode of Grey's Anatomy that created a blue room to help calm the doctors an residence down. During the tour, I wish I remembered the name she told me, she suggested changing it half way through. So I started with blue and then went to purple. Check out what those colors do and you can get an idea of how my life is going right now. There is a TV in the room that you can see from the sauna and speaker in the sauna that you can control. They have Netflix and some other viewing options on the TV. Next time I might watch a show but this time I went with the scenes of nature and calming music. They give you three towels. Two hand towels and one larger one. There are a cushion and wood thing for you to relax on but I never leaned back but I eventually spread out the towel and laid down. One thing she didn't show me in the tour but I ended up using was the stretches guide, see picture. This is why I said wear your watch. I set a timer for 20 seconds and did each stretch. It helped pass the time so much that I did them again but set my timer for 30 seconds. When I had 15 minutes left I needed some air so I opened the door and stepped out. I was pretty proud of myself for laying that long in the heat as I rarely can last 5 minutes in a regular sauna. I took some breaths and stepped back in. Then I did that every three minutes until it was down to five minutes. With 5 minutes left I set a timer and laid down. If I hadn't set my timer I might not have known to get up and dry off cause there wasn't anything that happened to let me know my sessions was over. I wish a bell went off or something or I would have been in there way too long and someone was booked for my sauna so they needed time to clean it. Tip for owners- I am a curvy lady who fits into regular American store sizes and the larger towel barely fit around me so when I needed to run to the restroom at the end of my session I was showing a little upper leg. It was a surprisingly great experience so I will be advocating for it by telling peeps about it and I will be back for more.

The place is nice. Hands down. Easy parking. Staff is very friendly. After filling out a few forms and tour of location my wife and I were naked in the sauna watching fun with dick and Jane. Each color light supposed to have different effect on you and maybe it does, maybe it don't. I don't know. I noticed if you are not in the seat directly in front of the tv then you have to lean forward and that became uncomfortable. Honestly it was a good experience but I just don't know if there is any difference then a regular gym beside privacy and tv. I enjoyed it and recommend going thou.

Great concept! Affordable 40 min personal sauna sessions! No more $100 plus spa sessions just to use the sauna. Staff was so warm, welcoming and broke down every aspect of the experience. Was also able to watch Netflix & Hulu while in the suana. There is also showers available for afterwards. Staff was so friendly and in great spirits, I will definitely be back when in town!

View of TV from inside sauna, speakers are inside the sauna.

I was very excited to see an infrared sauna studio open up in Atlanta! I booked through Classpass, making it a nice addition to my wellness routine. The heat is really different from typical saunas due to the infrared, and I really didn't fully work up a sweat until the second half of the session, and then it was like the floodgates opened. I felt great and like I could have stayed in there much longer than 40 minutes! The doors stay unlocked for safety reasons, so that is the only unsettling part but it makes sense. They provide plenty of towels for you to sit comfortably in the sauna, and I felt that the studio was very clean with a sleek aesthetic. I enjoyed watching an episode on Netflix during my sauna. Make sure to bring your water bottle so you can refill with filtered water from their fountain, but it looks like they sell a few different types of water, make up wipes, etc. if you forget. The parking lot seems like it could get a little busy, but it is awesome to have free parking in that area of Buckhead. I will definitely come back whenever I feel like I need to treat myself to a good sweat.

Great new infrared sauna that just opened in buckhead. The space is super cute and they have some great retail products for sale. The saunas are great and have several different colors of light you can choose from. You can watch Netflix, Hulu or listen to Pandora while you are in them and they have free Wi-Fi as well. There is also a shower you can use if you need to get back to work or go somewhere afterwards.

We live in Nashville and I miss having a Korean spa around after having had many visits to a very large famous Korean spa in Dallas. I have visited ATL before just for a visit to a local competitor which had grown disappointing. We are SO GLAD we visited this place! It was clean and a nice size! Some of these (been to them in Dallas/ATL/Chicago/NY) can be smaller. This one has nice large saunas though not clearly marked as to temp*. I like to know these things. Not one of them was very warm at all but they were all very comfortable. The restaurant area is large as well and has lots of offerings, we tried several different drinks and food during the day. Honestly the food wasn't very good and the drinks are pre-processed so very sweet. We ended up just drinking water. The food we had was a fried. I started with 3 roasted eggs and it was the best thing I had. There may have been better options but we had planned to eat a nice meal that evening so no biggie. The wet area only has 2 hot tubs, both were the same temp* and neither had jets. The showers are nice and clean. The sauna was nice and hot :-) I personally like a nice quiet subdued environment but this one was not controlled that way and got a bit roudy the later it got. We both indulged in services. My husband a 80min massage deep tissue massage and I had the 90 min scrub/oil massage treatment. Both were done very well! My person was "#8" and I would highly recommend her. It is more costly than most to get in - $39 pp. We knew we would be getting services and food so we bought the $500 gift card deal which includes 2 entrances. This easily covered all we spent, including tip, and we had $$ left over but it had gotten very busy so we weren't able to get in for a 30min reflexology session. So we left with money which means we have to Go Back! #GirlsTrip I saw many first timers (forgetting to take your shoes off is a rookie mistake) Do yourself a favor and make time to visit! I would suggest another day than Saturday but if you get there early (10am) and leave by 5pm, as we did, you will still have plenty of time to relax and have services completed.

Clean facilities, quick service, pampering, and decent food!…read more Walking in, we didn't know what to expect. Having visited jeju sauna, I did have an idea but it's been a while since I had my last trip to the sauna. The do have several sections located a large map in the hall way. There is a 2nd level as well. The hot tub is mandatory fully nude fyi!! Something to consider if you want to go with your shy friends. I was definitely eyeing the body scrub in the hot tub room. Wishing I did it! Instead we opted for a couples massage. They have a signup board by the entrance where you sign up and return with your assigned time. I will say the massage was pricy and I think we're going to do the scrub next time since it's exclusively available here. Food that we tried was the bimbimbap and the strawberry smoothie. Definitely decent for the location. Overall not bad for the admission price and fun experience.

I'm not interested in supporting places that single out riders or create an unwelcoming environment for people simply based on how they arrive. It's a shame, because the facility itself has always been solid and I used to enjoy coming here. But culture matters. If a business doesn't want to be welcoming to the riding community, that's their choice--but it also means they won't be getting any more of my business. My friend wanted to spend her birthday at a bath house. We've tried Jeju and SpaLand before, but wanted to try something different. There were a total of 4 of us. Roman Holiday Sauna is in that Red Green Brazilian Steakhouse shopping center all the way to the right corner. When we got there, it was completely empty except for the people that was working there. They gave us 4 a quick tour and we started out on the lower floor where the saunas, lockers, and restaurant are. For those of you that have a hard time going up and down the stairs, their elevator is currently not working. When we got there, guess what? There were no baths! We did read about this on the reviews, but when we called prior to our visit, they claimed that there were baths. Nope...it wasn't even built for a bath. We had all purchased the body polish and they said that we can just eat first, steam and then do the polish. They wanted us to wait an hour. We said okay. Went to the "restaurant" and they claimed that their menu wasn't printed nor was the tv working where the menu was. So we had to try to figure out what their "handwriting" menu was. 2 out of us 4 ordered soup. Foods took awhile b/c it was just one lady cooking and it seems like they weren't really prepared....they literally said that they don't have 70% of the items from the "menu" because they haven't went grocery shopping (more like because they don't have enough customers). While waiting, they left the door open to the outside part behind us. Their employees kept on coming and going and the cigarette smell was getting stronger and stronger. I tried to go to the door to close it, but they kept it propped open and I can see where all the employees were back there smoking. Foods arrived...it was good. Since it took them awhile to cook (more than 30 mins), the body polish ladies kept on coming to us asking if we're ready yet. We told them that we literally just got our foods, they told us to be here for at least an our, and we wanted all 4 of us to be polished at the same time. Before I proceed, we did asked the front desk lady if there's enough staff to do the massages and body polish at the same time...she kept on trying to convince us to get the $160 package. We said that we will only get it if we can go at the same time...she kept on saying yes. Finished our foods, went to the polish area and they said to go wash our bodies first and go steam. We did all of that. OHHH! Before I forget, we all used the restrooms prior to this and the ladies that were working there did too. They were using it for awhile and when they came out of their stalls, not a single one of them WASHED THEIR HANDS!!! We're thinking to ourselves, these will be the same hands touching us, but we tried to think positively that at least they will wash it prior to polishing us. Here's where it all went down...if you're still following along...after the steaming room and they called us all out that they're ready, they only prepared 3 out of the 4 beds...we're like okayyyy. I told them that I'll just go lay on the infrared floor and wait, hence, the body polish is 90 minutes. It is what it is and we were all planning to be there all day anyways. After they rushed through one of my sisters, they told her to go ahead and go upstairs for her foot massage. She repeatedly told them that she's waiting for us. I'm still laying there on the darn hard floor rotating front and back waiting for them to call me. Next thing I heard was my sister coming back from the locker room asking them why did they started on someone else and not ME?!?! I lifted my head up and saw that they completely skipped me EVEN THOUGH I WAITED 90 MINUTES!!! What the F*CK?!?! One of the ladies there tried to lied to my sister and said that that lady was waiting for a long time already and was been there. Sis said, "No...there was nobody here before us. You knew my sister had been waiting, but you still proceeded to take someone else". They said they had a system going and my sister didn't understand. That's what got me riling up. The front desk lady (not sure if she's the mgr or what not) came downstairs and tried to talk too....the moment the staff said my sister didn't understand, I said, "forget it...I'm cancelling b/c I'm not waiting another 90 mins and you can just refund me". They tried to say, it'll be another 10 mins. Why? So that they can rush through my 2nd sister and friend? Went upstairs and got my refund and the desk lady kept on apologizing that they're short staff and didn't know until "yesterday". I told her that was not the point. I didn't mind the wait b/c I was already waiting, but to have someone skip right in front of me after I PATIENTLY waited and then to try to gaslight my sister? Oh h*ll no! *can't type anymore b/c Yelp have a min*

Let me start by saying it is no Jeju, Spa Land, or even Gangnam. If you love one or all of the…read morepreviously mentioned spas do yourself a favor and skip this sauna. However if you are wanting to experience a sauna for the first time this is a good beginners sauna. It has limited amenities. The locker rooms are small. There is not hot tub...well an inflatable pool. It was very quiet. It can't compare to the other major saunas/spas in The metro Atlanta area.

Nice facility! Clean space overall actually. I was impressed. I also like that its black owned! It…read morewas a nice experience for the $15 trial, and to be able to experience both the infrared sauna and cold plunge for that price (via an IG ad). IMO it's only worth buying a package for special occasions (if you want to treat yourself), however a monthly unlimited or limited memberships are too expensive for the sauna and cold plunge. To make it worth it for the unlimited, you'd need to go multiple times a week. It might be more worth it if you add the gym membership for just a little extra but for the sauna + cold plunge membership, you'd have to go at least once a week for any of the memberships (limited or unlimited), to make sense. They count one session as either the sauna or the cold plunge (not both together). So to get both you have to use 2 sessions, which sucks. One session should include a complete set of both. The gym was completely empty and practically all saunas were too, so i'm not sure how profitable this place is. Only a couple of saunas are supposed to go to 175 degrees. I supposedly used one of those on my visit, but the hottest it ever got was 164 and even that decreased from time to time. They recommend no longer than 20 mins at a time. I more than doubled that time staying 42 mins and still wasn't satisfied with the level of sweat/temperature. Which makes it even more not worth it membership-wise. I need a GOOD sweat and this was lacking that for me. The cold plunge was 47 degrees and they only recommended doing it for 2-5 minutes at a time. It was a great feeling and i'd do it again for $15. But worth it for a membership??? - Uhm not so much. Lastly, after experiencing infrared and because of the temperature concerns of not reaching above 164 F, I much prefer the dry sauna (a la LA Fitness). Yup, I can get that at LA Fitness for a fraction of the cost and leave there feeling great with a high metabolism due to all the sweat. This place didn't make me feel that way. Yes its much cleaner than LA Fitness (depending on which LAF you go to), and there's something to be said for that because you want that in a sauna, but all other things considered, price matters especially for what you get. I wish they would consider lowering the cold plunge prices (considering the short nature of it - it's not like you're chilling in there like you would a hot tub for a prolonged period - so I don't get why it's so expensive); either that or double the number of sessions - for the "limited" membership for that particular service. If there was a steam room too it'd be worth it. Or better yet all 4. Steam room, dry and infrared saunas, and cold plunge You do get a private clean room, vit c filtered shower and towels. There is also an iPad in the room to "listen" to whatever you want while there, including "listening" to youtube (not to be confused with watching)....if that matters - but IMO its pretty standard. I wanted this to be 4 or 5 stars, but it just didn't deserve more than 3 stars at the end of the day overall mainly due to price not matching the services. if I lived in the neighborhood maybe but I couldn't see myself driving 25 mins each way multiple times per week for it. The guy that I spoke to on my visit also said he would follow up the following week. I'm still waiting. Lol.

Put succinctly, I love this place. Each time I've visited…read morethe sauna studio I have had a perfect experience. The private sauna suites are cozy and sparkling clean. Each suite is equipped with everything you need to have a great experience including plenty of towels, toiletries for post-sauna clean-up in your private shower, and an iPad to help you set your perfect spa mood. The aroma therapy cooling cloth (in your choice of any of four scents) is a wonderful touch. The chilled, scented cloth will be given to you at the beginning of your session by one of Thrive's amazing staff - each of whom is more friendly and professional than the last - or even Thrive's super personable owner, Lloyd. I expect to continue to return to Thrive for saunas a long time to come.
