I was given a trip here for my birthday by a friend because we saw this on tv. Sensory deprivation has a lot of mystic websites explaining what it is and the benefits that it may or may not provide. I really can't speak to that aspect of it after only one visit. The business was easy enough to find but parking was troubling to say the least. The lady at the counter was very thorough about explaining everything and answered questions that I had. The facility was clean and warm. Overall a cool experience. I'd try it again. read more

Had a great first experience at Float. I planned this as a date for my wife and I and we were treated by Lois with lots of care and excitement. There are options for floating. You can choose to be in one of their pods or open polls. The pods reminded me of the movie The Matrix. Be mindful of any cuts or abrasions before going to float because the salt content of the solutions will burn. Once I took a cool shower and got in the tank, it took a few minutes to find my sense of quiet. Once reached my mind was able to drift in and out and I really felt a sense of decompression. I'm bald so I didn't have to worry about it, but those with hair should be mindful of the salt that will get into your hair and stay even after a shampoo. I visited in March 2024 for my first ever float experience. The owners were extremely nice and explained the entire process before going in. I felt comfortable before going in. The float was relaxing and there were rails on the side if you want to hold onto something. There was a shower in the room for you to wash off before and after the float. Make sure to wash the insides of your ears too as I had plenty of salt left over in my outer cartilage even with the earplugs provided. Overall, a great experience. I've been here twice now and wish I had the money to go more often! I love feeling like all the weight is off my body and getting the chance to stretch and relax in the water. I did the open room and the floatarium pod, and I prefer the pod because I like the ridges on the bottom that give me somewhere to put my feet; you can also kinda make it so you're sitting if you aren't keen on having your head in the water. I usually take my phone and listen to something because I *do* get a little bored otherwise, but I also have ADHD so do with that what you will. The shower is nice, and the products for washing afterwards are pretty standard but perfectly fine. The owner is really nice, very chill, and I REALLY appreciate her flexibility when I got strep throat the morning of my float (and just before my credits expired!) in letting me reschedule once I was feeling better. You can tell she really cares and wants everyone to have the best experience possible. It's definitely going on my list of "things people can get me a gift certificate for special occasions" because once every few months leaves me feeling refreshed and pain free (hooray arthritis) and ready to get back at it. read more

The float Experince it self was really interesting. I was afraid 60 minutes would be too much but it passes really quick. Was also afraid it would feel claustrophobic but was not the case. The rooms looked clean and so did the water. The explanation was really quick but maybe because we were there just a few min before. We were given plenty of time after to shower and get out. The person on the front desk was not super friendly but was cordial. At the end we were really expecting some relaxing time with tea and that was no where to be found or offered. What an amazing experience! A friend had raved about the saltwater bath and sensory deprivation experience and we decided to try it for our anniversary. The owner is so nice and walks thru all the steps to have a wonderful, relaxing time. We used the two (separate) bathrooms with a large tub for the lukewarm saltwater. Everything from ear plugs to towels along the rail were provided; slippers and a robe as well, as you shower before and after. There's a push button on the side of the tub if you settle in and decide to go completely dark - I loved it and found staring into total blackness so peaceful. You go au natural and the water buoys you. She suggested letting your limbs go wherever they felt completely relaxed - I never raise my arms up in a star shape when sleeping but that felt perfect! I'm a yoga girl so breathing evenly is pretty natural, and I found that my thoughts easily floated along with my bath. Drink lots of water after and I hope you stay as relaxed as I did for a few hours! That one hour stepping out of the world lasted all afternoon. read more

I was looking forward to my visit to Float Atlanta, but my experience was disappointing due to poor communication and logistical issues. When I booked over the phone, I was told that my gift card for two treatments would cover both of my treatments. However, when I arrived, the owner denied saying this and attempted to charge me for one of the treatments I was told would be covered by my gift card when I booked. Additionally, I called ahead to let them know I was running behind due to having the incorrect address and was told, "Okay, we'll see you when you get here." I arrived 14 minutes delayed, but after my 1st treatment, it was exaggerated and I was told I arrived 30 minutes late, and my treatment was changed from the open-air room to a pod without my consent, which was disappointing and frustrating since that is not what I originally booked. The owner tried to convince me to undergo my treatment in the pod room instead of the room I booked, but I did not accept this because this is not what I booked. While the massage was good, the overall experience of miscommunication and condescending communication left me feeling frustrated, unheard, and I do not plan on returning. read more

This was my first floating session and I had high exceptions going into it given that I know some trusted folks who swear by it's benefits. Before the session, I had a lot of tension and stress in my shoulders, neck and Lower back. Leaving the session, my body felt loose and nimble and I got some much needed clarity on some anxiety provoking things that I've been dealing with recently. My expectations were exceeded. Warm and cozy environment, mellow music, clean and neat facilities, it's the vibe that you hope to experience as you're getting ready to physically and mentally unplug. Ms. Louis was polite and respectful during every interaction. She made the entire experience inviting with her warmth and passion for this work. I am now integrating floating sessions into my weekly routine. 10/10 easily!! read more

I have floated around 50+ times at five different places. Float Atlanta is my favorite - an amazing place to float. From first entering, the place smells clean and amazing. The vibe is relaxed and there is no pressure to buy anything. As for the float experience, there are three options. Two are open float tanks and one is the more traditional enclosed tank. Lois is great at explaining the process and what float room is best for you. Between the website and Lois' explanations, all your questions will be easily answered. If you have been on the fence about floating, I highly recommend it for mental and physical rest. Especially as an introvert, it is precious time without phones or noise. Give it a try! read more

Last week, I visited Atlanta for the first time for a job interview, and my first was stop was Float Atlanta. Coming from NYC, I was in search of a place offering this specific practice to help me feel calm and relaxed while exploring a new city. The owner was most generous with her time and the three float intro package was absolutely perfect for meeting my needs during my brief stay. Trying out their unique open-float room is a must, as it offers a vast amount of space to stretch, relax, and meditate. It's the BEST sensory deprivation room I have experienced after 6 years of floating in CA and NYC. To top it all off, on my very last day the owner provided me with maps and walked me to the nearby Square so I could see more of what Decatur has to offer as a potential place to live. I highly recommend Float Atlanta not only for their business, but their genuine hospitality. I hope to be back very soon! read more

You will love it here! My sister and I went to float for self-care Sunday. Walking in, we were greeted by Lois and immediately felt welcomed. Once comfortable in the tank, I was completely at ease. The best part came once the float was done. It's indescribable how great my body and soul felt after. I def. recommend! Next time, instead of floating in silence, I'm going to add some music. I have been hearing about the benefits of float therapy for awhile now. I was a little nervous about trying it out though. I shouldn't have been anxious. The complete experience was perfect. The water was crystal clear. Ms. Lois gave me a great overview of what to expect and the process and made me feel right at home. When I was floating all my tension that I was holding in my body dissolved. I could literally feel my blood pressure lower and when I got out it was even better than I felt when I have gotten a massage. I felt so relaxed. This wax an interesting experience as a first time "floater". It was very laidback inside and relaxing. It's definitely something i'll have to get used to but for the most part it it was relaxing and enjoyable. i only heard slight noise during my session (with earplugs in and ears submerged). My only thing was the professionalism of the lady that seems the manage the place. She was very thorough in explaining preparations and contraindications, but she made negative remarks regarding the timeliness of 2 different clients within the first 5 minutes of me being there, I guess as a conversation piece.
