I Had the best reiki experience with Dr. Oba! In my opinion, He is truly a natural healer and extremely intuitive and knowledgeable about his craft. I had a series of 3 hydro colon sessions. I wanted to start this treatment because although I've been mainly vegetarian and vegan for the past five years, I don't have regular bowel movements. I've had colonics in the past, but it was a closed system so a MUCH different experience that a open system (the use the Angel of Water machine) because you insert the tube into your own anus and you control the water and how long/far it goes in by holding your sphincter muscles and then releasing. I prefer the closed system, but I heard the Angel of Water provided better results because it cleaned your colon better. After the first session, I had 2-3 days were I had 2 bowel movements per day (I had also JUST ended a month long raw vegan detox so I'm sure that helped). After the second and third sessions, my bowels became even more regular. I've seen no difference in my stomach/waist/FUPA/weight like many people rave about after a colonic, but that's cool because I went for health reasons, not cosmetic. The spa itself was really easy to find, plenty of free parking and is a clean and relaxing environment. My appointments were with LaLa and she was really knowledgeable, helpful and made an unpleasant experience go by pretty quickly. She was also able to recommend supplements to purchase on site but wasn't pushy about it. I definitely recommend Heal Thy Self for anyone who wants to take the next time in prioritizing their long term health. I've been here 3x and today is the first time I've had a rude experience. There is a lady working the door with a thick accent that was getting loud with me because they sell ionic foot detoxes by 30minute intervals. However, their machine only runs for 23minutes max per session. And my first session was only set for 13minutes. But Broomhilda didn't believe me when I pointed out the time on the machine was off. Every other time I've come the front desk person would automatically check to ensure the machine was set correctly and then come back and add the extra minutes on to ensure a full 30minute session. This egotistical accent person told me I needed to "ask her" for the additional time. I had to ask her a few times to lower her voice when talking to me before finally sending her away. She went on to slam doors and cabinets shut in the hallway beside me. She did not have good energy from the moment she came to the front desk. Beware when you buy a foot detoxes for 30mins you might have to stroke Griselda's ego to get your other 7minutes. (we have been to tried and true healers so we know these things CAN work and what yo expect. this was Not it. The foot detox was barely 10 minutes. The infrared sauna thing NEVER got warm so it was a complete waste of money and time. Just sat there waiting for them to say when to go to the next treatment when all I wanted to do was go home. The ONLY decent thing was the massage and that was below average but at least better than everything else. Wasted our money and ruined my husband's birthday!!!! He literally came home and said it was the worst experience and he wishes he would have just went to the Four Seasons Spa even though it's overpriced bc he at least could have relaxed. I did not have the best time here yesterday. I went in for a colonic (my first one ever) and a massage. Renitta was my practitioner and I found her to be very nice. She answered every question I had and that was helpful. The first thing that stood out for me was the new client on-boarding process or lack thereof. As a first time customer, it would've been nice to have been welcomed into the space and given a run down of what to do once inside the treatment room. For example, following my massage I needed to go into the next room but had to ask for a robe (?). I was naked under the massage blanket, did I have to ask for a robe..? I'm not sure. Once robed, I wasn't sure what to do with my coat, clothes and shoes so I asked what to do and she said, "oh, just bring them with you". So here I am in a robe with my clothes wrapped up in my big coat, walking on the backs of shoes to the next treatment room. (What?!) Once inside this room, I asked where to place my items and was then told, "oh, they go in the bag here" pointing to the canvas bags that were on the hook that she should've told me about at the start of the first treatment. Anyway, I actually had a bad reaction to the colonic that everyone should know about. I experienced a LOT OF PAIN and nearly passed out during the treatment. I'm sharing this without placing blame on HTS (at all), but wanting to be honest in this review because this was my experience today. All of this aside, I do like what HTS offers, and I will be back for a 2nd visit with hopes that my customer service AND colonic treatment will be much better! (This is a TMI REVIEW) I was diagnosed with cancer a month ago and a known side effect of the chemotherapy treatment is constipation. I was severely constipated for 8 days- could not eat for 4 days. The doctors kept prescribing me medicines and laxatives and I even went to the ER to get an enema. Nothing worked for me. I was miserable and thought I'd never see the end of my abdominal pain.
