Parking area - ample, safe and gratis.
Allicia S.

Would be negative 1 if possible! What would have originally been a 3 star review due to ease of entry, ample free parking and pleasant front desk attendant on evening of 12.24.21 quickly went into a downward spiral as the night progressed. The dog that freely moved about received better treatment! SMH As mentioned, the lady who checked us in - entry fee upon arrival in exchange for uniform to wear in common areas and locker key that doubled as log for services/purchases - was friendly and cute. She explained flow of place and I listened despite frequenting other Korean bath houses in vicinity. Made my way to my locker - #34 - after leaving boots at staging area for shoes near entry on female side. Changed into oversized two piece uniform and brushed teeth with complimentary toothbrush. The area was clean and offered several services including hip baths, body scrubs and facials. Full shower area, rest room and areas to rest also in this area. Opted to go to the salt room, which was warm and needed for injury incurred earlier in the day. Later discovered that the salt room extended to the male side and had a divider between. Sadly, every detail of a loud conversation could be heard from the men. Upon exit, did meet my male companion in the common areas. Kitchen was closed, so we proceeded to the clay room to relax. Towels, blocks, pillows, mats and blankets were available - had to hunt for some, but nonetheless use included with entry. The clay room was decent, but rest not possible due to loud snoring competition! Removed ourselves to what we believed was a second clay room, and relaxed in there until an irate person came in making a fuss. Did not realize it was geared towards my male companion initially, as room did not state 'women only' as the door next to it. After the confusion subsided, we went to the ice room, which floors were cold but tolerable with mat and blanket. Stayed for a little, went back to clay #1 and then back to our respective gender sides so he could swim and I could enjoy the salt room again. We had agreed on a meet up in common areas timeframe and I proceeded there after capturing pics for my review and this began the beginning of the end for me. An authoritative figure approached my front desk person and appeared to have a stern conversation. Later front desk approached me inquiring about said pictures, and I explained reasoning as member of Yelp squad etc. She then probed deeper to see said pictures and asked me to erase price list, etc. Explained the value of reviews and questioned secrecy, especially if goal is to grow business. Smh again! I obliged and deleted some pics as will never return. Thought it would be optimal to have a bath house location closer than Pleasant Hill, but apparently not. The company on Pleasant Hill has set the bar - better services, kitchen open later and more welcoming reception. Hopefully Gangnam will review that model and make much needed improvements!

I was very uneasy today and had a lot on my mind and couldn't sleep. I had always seen this place on my daily commute to work so I stopped in to treat myself to a massage. I FEEL LIKE A NEW WOMAN!! When I walked in the woman at the front was very observant and ready to help me and guide me-- she could tell it was my first time. After explaining the menu, she gave me instructions on my service. The facility is immaculate! I felt very comfortable and safe. The body scrub was absolutely refreshing; she even scrubbed my scalp! The massage portion was a little short in my opinion but only because it felt SO GOOD I didn't want her to stop! The cucumber facial I received was exactly what my skin needed. 100% will recommend. 100% will return. Self love is the best love and self care is important. Come here whenever you need to completely release!

Might as well give people flip flops to walk in that mess

Now I'm not surprise to see why the lot was so empty. I was willing to go past the dirty floors and dirty bathrooms , but after my last experience I will never go there no more, spaland is way classier , cleaner and professional. After a long day I needed to relax and have some soup after , so after my shower I went to the cafeteria but these people speak absolutely no English , and cashier started arguing with the cook in my face over me asking if soup #13 is spicy, they then walked on right out the cafeteria and left without taking my order or anything , this was very awkward for me given that I don't speak Korean. I will never step foot there that was the worst customer service iv ever seeing I wish I could give zero star

Gangnam Sauna is like a poor man's version of Jeju Sauna. It's similar in almost all aspects, just not as nice. Still functional, though. This is a jjimjilbang, a Korean bathhouse which contains showers, hot and cold tubs, various types of saunas, resting rooms, a restaurant, and a beauty salon. It's located on Buford Highway OTP (outside the perimeter) in Norcross, not far from Jimmy Carter Blvd. The entrance fee is $20 for 24 hours. This compares to $25 for 24 hours at Jeju. The business is open 24/7. You do not have to pay the entrance fee if you just want to eat at the restaurant or go to the salon. Services that cost an additional fee include body scrubs, massages, masks, and hip baths. These cost anywhere from $40 to $150 and can take 30 minutes to 2 hours. The entrance fee is waived for most of these services. Check out this picture I took of the sauna's pricing for details: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/gangnam-sauna-norcross?select=G5MKqmTrdC7YUbvQPiJQzA The restaurant is small. It's almost like a shopping mall or supermarket food court stall. Like one of the stalls at Super H Mart or another Asian grocery store, the restaurant here has a picture menu with 20+ items, all Korean food. Each dish is $12 or less. Items include various soups and stews, noodles (including ramen), bulgogi (shredded marinated beef), ddukbokki (rice cakes), and patbingsu (shaved ice dessert). Beverages include fruit juices, sikhye (sweet rice beverage), and hot and iced coffee. The dishes come with banchan (side dishes). Everyone seemed to enjoy their food even though I noticed the ramen was Shin Ramyun. They prepare instant ramen at some of the noraebangs (karaoke places) too. The restaurant has a TV. I didn't see hours posted for the restaurant, but the salon is open 7 days a week from 9:30am to 7:30pm. At the salon, they do mani-pedis, waxing, hair, and skincare. I didn't go inside, but some of my friends used their services. Before admittance, you have to digitally sign a waiver that's written in Korean. I can't read Korean so I could've been signing my life away when I filled mine out. You have to enter your name and phone number. Once you're in the system, you won't have to fill out the waiver on return visits. After paying the entrance fee, you're handed a numbered locker key, uniform (blue and gray for men, orange and gray for ladies), sealed disposable toothbrush, and sealed disposable razor. The facility has gender-segregated sections with a co-ed section in between. When you are in the gender-segregated sections, you pretty much walk around naked. If you're uncomfortable with that, you can carry a towel around to cover yourself. However, it's much more comfortable to go into the saunas and tubs naked. The uniforms are really only used for the co-ed areas or if you want to go to the restaurant or salon. No need to bring your own towel. They have plenty for you to use. As a common courtesy, you should shower before using any of the facilities. If you want to brush your teeth and shave, they have sinks, mirrors, and sit-down stools for that. Shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap are provided at the showers. In the men's area, there is a hot tub, cold dunk, and three saunas: wet, dry, and salt. All three saunas are very hot and will make you sweat profusely. I liked the salt room. It looked like there were huge bricks of salt in there. The locker room has a bunch of loungers and a big screen TV where you can rest and relax. Body scrubs, massages, masks, and hip baths are done on an appointment basis in each gender-segregated area. Male workers work on males and female workers work on females. The co-ed section has the following saunas: jade room (women only), red clay room, and ice room. The red clay room was hot, but not as hot as the saunas in the men's only area. What makes the red clay room special are these beds of spherical "rocks" which you lay on. They serve to both massage and drain the toxins out of your body? I'm not sure about the latter. Another name for the red clay room is "quantum energy room." Okay... At Jeju Sauna, they have brief descriptions on the health benefits of each room. Not here. You just get the name. The ice room was disappointing. It was just a room of beds and it wasn't even that cold. The ambient temperature inside the room was probably only in the 60s. It also looked like this room was partially used for storage. In the center of the co-ed section is a dark nap area. There are stacks of sleeping mats on either side of the nap area. Grab one and take a nap. It reminds me of kindergarten. Service is fine. Some of the employees can be rather brusque, while others are friendly. During our Sunday afternoon visit, the clientele was mostly older Korean folk with a few older non-American Caucasians interspersed. It was quiet. In the end, I give Gangnam Sauna 3 out of 5 Yelp stars: A-OK. It's not as nice or as big as Jeju, but it's not as crowded either. I'd come back.

So I recently felt the urge to go to sauna and this one seemed to be good and on the cheaper end. I've heard a lot about Jeju but it seemed a bit more expensive since I wanted to do the scrub and massage as well. Also, I wanted a place with a smaller crowd so I could just relax. This one definitely fit the bill. The sauna is pretty self explanatory. The workers speak mostly Korean but they do know enough English to explain the process to you. When you walk inside, you'll be at the front desk and the restaurant will immediately on your left. At the front desk, you tell them what services you want and then you pay for it. After, they give you clothes to change into, your locker key and a packaged toothbrush. There is a co-ed area behind the front desk area where you can rest and even sleep since the place is open 24/7. There are some rooms here such as the jade room, red clay room and cold room. Further in the back are the shower areas and additional rooms for separate genders. You have to be naked to be in the shower area so just a heads up. Do take a shower before you get in the pool or steam room. So the scrub, massage and facial option is $110 and with that, you don't have to pay the admission fee, which is $20. It seems they wave the fee when you buy certain packages. If you choose this, they'll make sure you spend some time in the steam room first so your pores can open up and make it easier for them to scrub the dead skin off your body. The scrub was very...interesting ahah I never knew just how much dead skin is on your body but man, I have never felt so baby butt smooth in my life!! The lady I had was Mrs. Kim (#5) and she is super awesome and she works HARD. Every part of you will be scrubbed man, just be prepared lol To me, it was super worth it because not only was the scrub awesome, the massage and facial were both great as well. You just leave feeling so rejuvenated and refreshed. Definitely would recommend this. After, I was hungry so I grabbed some food at their restaurant. I got the bibimbap and it was pretty standard, nothing amazing but not bad either. I also got their rice drink which was delicious(: Everyone was super nice, from the staff to fellow sauna patrons who saw that I was struggling to figure everything out lol I really enjoyed my experience here and I will definitely be back^_^

Ask the Community - Gangnam Sauna

Are there any rooms , saunas, or places in your business where men and women are naked at the same time?

There is a women and men side, you are naked on different sides. There are not common naked saunas.

How much is the body scrub?

Lowest is $50

Do they have age restrictions?

No one under 4 according to the website.

What is the cost for one day use of sauna?

There's a $20 entrance fee which is good for one day (until 11am the next day?). There are certain service packages you can get that will waive the $20 fee.

What time do they stop offering the services? (massages, scrubs, etc)

I believe scrubs and services offered in the wet areas stop at 11, but other massages go until 2 AM

We live in Nashville and I miss having a Korean spa around after having had many visits to a very large famous Korean spa in Dallas. I have visited ATL before just for a visit to a local competitor which had grown disappointing. We are SO GLAD we visited this place! It was clean and a nice size! Some of these (been to them in Dallas/ATL/Chicago/NY) can be smaller. This one has nice large saunas though not clearly marked as to temp*. I like to know these things. Not one of them was very warm at all but they were all very comfortable. The restaurant area is large as well and has lots of offerings, we tried several different drinks and food during the day. Honestly the food wasn't very good and the drinks are pre-processed so very sweet. We ended up just drinking water. The food we had was a fried. I started with 3 roasted eggs and it was the best thing I had. There may have been better options but we had planned to eat a nice meal that evening so no biggie. The wet area only has 2 hot tubs, both were the same temp* and neither had jets. The showers are nice and clean. The sauna was nice and hot :-) I personally like a nice quiet subdued environment but this one was not controlled that way and got a bit roudy the later it got. We both indulged in services. My husband a 80min massage deep tissue massage and I had the 90 min scrub/oil massage treatment. Both were done very well! My person was "#8" and I would highly recommend her. It is more costly than most to get in - $39 pp. We knew we would be getting services and food so we bought the $500 gift card deal which includes 2 entrances. This easily covered all we spent, including tip, and we had $$ left over but it had gotten very busy so we weren't able to get in for a 30min reflexology session. So we left with money which means we have to Go Back! #GirlsTrip I saw many first timers (forgetting to take your shoes off is a rookie mistake) Do yourself a favor and make time to visit! I would suggest another day than Saturday but if you get there early (10am) and leave by 5pm, as we did, you will still have plenty of time to relax and have services completed.

Now for the services. There are multiple different kinds of services. I went for the foot massage, which was amazing. A shout out to Zaluda. This cost $70 for one hour. She was excellent. I also opted for a body scrub, which I've never had before. Boy was it beyond what I was expecting. There are two elderly ladies that have all the energy in the world that do this. You have to be completely nude and you lie down on a plastic covered table. It started off felt like someone rubbing my body with sandpaper. Ouch. I thought I would have to stop after a few moments. However, it got better and boy did dead skin get sloughed off. I was spun around, put in all sorts of awkward positions with one leg up in the air, my legs wide apart, my arms above my head, both front back and sides. As awkward as it was, I felt thoroughly clean at the end. She intermittently through water over me with a bucket. Things that concerned me: - you need to have your ID with you, which they keep at the front desk. They do return it once you have paid for all of your services. - nudity. I was not expecting this. It used to be a place I'd happily recommend to people looking to relax and reset. That changed recently when it became clear they are not welcoming to motorcycles. As someone who rides, that's a pretty disappointing stance to see from a business I've supported for so long. I'm not interested in supporting places that single out riders or create an unwelcoming environment for people simply based on how they arrive. It's a shame, because the facility itself has always been solid and I used to enjoy coming here. But culture matters. If a business doesn't want to be welcoming to the riding community, that's their choice--but it also means they won't be getting any more of my business. Plenty of other places out there that are happy to welcome everyone who walks through the door. ‍

My friend wanted to spend her birthday at a bath house. We've tried Jeju and SpaLand before, but wanted to try something different. There were a total of 4 of us. Roman Holiday Sauna is in that Red Green Brazilian Steakhouse shopping center all the way to the right corner. When we got there, it was completely empty except for the people that was working there. They gave us 4 a quick tour and we started out on the lower floor where the saunas, lockers, and restaurant are. For those of you that have a hard time going up and down the stairs, their elevator is currently not working. When we got there, guess what? There were no baths! We did read about this on the reviews, but when we called prior to our visit, they claimed that there were baths. Nope...it wasn't even built for a bath. We had all purchased the body polish and they said that we can just eat first, steam and then do the polish. They wanted us to wait an hour. We said okay. Went to the "restaurant" and they claimed that their menu wasn't printed nor was the tv working where the menu was. So we had to try to figure out what their "handwriting" menu was. 2 out of us 4 ordered soup. Foods took awhile b/c it was just one lady cooking and it seems like they weren't really prepared....they literally said that they don't have 70% of the items from the "menu" because they haven't went grocery shopping (more like because they don't have enough customers). While waiting, they left the door open to the outside part behind us. Their employees kept on coming and going and the cigarette smell was getting stronger and stronger. I tried to go to the door to close it, but they kept it propped open and I can see where all the employees were back there smoking. Foods arrived...it was good. Since it took them awhile to cook (more than 30 mins), the body polish ladies kept on coming to us asking if we're ready yet. We told them that we literally just got our foods, they told us to be here for at least an our, and we wanted all 4 of us to be polished at the same time. Before I proceed, we did asked the front desk lady if there's enough staff to do the massages and body polish at the same time...she kept on trying to convince us to get the $160 package. We said that we will only get it if we can go at the same time...she kept on saying yes. Finished our foods, went to the polish area and they said to go wash our bodies first and go steam. We did all of that. OHHH! Before I forget, we all used the restrooms prior to this and the ladies that were working there did too. They were using it for awhile and when they came out of their stalls, not a single one of them WASHED THEIR HANDS!!! We're thinking to ourselves, these will be the same hands touching us, but we tried to think positively that at least they will wash it prior to polishing us. Here's where it all went down...if you're still following along...after the steaming room and they called us all out that they're ready, they only prepared 3 out of the 4 beds...we're like okayyyy. I told them that I'll just go lay on the infrared floor and wait, hence, the body polish is 90 minutes. It is what it is and we were all planning to be there all day anyways. After they rushed through one of my sisters, they told her to go ahead and go upstairs for her foot massage. She repeatedly told them that she's waiting for us. I'm still laying there on the darn hard floor rotating front and back waiting for them to call me. Next thing I heard was my sister coming back from the locker room asking them why did they started on someone else and not ME?!?! I lifted my head up and saw that they completely skipped me EVEN THOUGH I WAITED 90 MINUTES!!! What the F*CK?!?! One of the ladies there tried to lied to my sister and said that that lady was waiting for a long time already and was been there. Sis said, "No...there was nobody here before us. You knew my sister had been waiting, but you still proceeded to take someone else". They said they had a system going and my sister didn't understand. That's what got me riling up. The front desk lady (not sure if she's the mgr or what not) came downstairs and tried to talk too....the moment the staff said my sister didn't understand, I said, "forget it...I'm cancelling b/c I'm not waiting another 90 mins and you can just refund me". They tried to say, it'll be another 10 mins. Why? So that they can rush through my 2nd sister and friend? Went upstairs and got my refund and the desk lady kept on apologizing that they're short staff and didn't know until "yesterday". I told her that was not the point. I didn't mind the wait b/c I was already waiting, but to have someone skip right in front of me after I PATIENTLY waited and then to try to gaslight my sister? Oh h*ll no! *can't type anymore b/c Yelp have a min*

IMO it's only worth buying a package for special occasions (if you want to treat yourself), however a monthly unlimited or limited memberships are too expensive for the sauna and cold plunge. To make it worth it for the unlimited, you'd need to go multiple times a week. It might be more worth it if you add the gym membership for just a little extra but for the sauna + cold plunge membership, you'd have to go at least once a week for any of the memberships (limited or unlimited), to make sense. They count one session as either the sauna or the cold plunge (not both together). So to get both you have to use 2 sessions, which sucks. One session should include a complete set of both. The gym was completely empty and practically all saunas were too, so i'm not sure how profitable this place is. Only a couple of saunas are supposed to go to 175 degrees. I supposedly used one of those on my visit, but the hottest it ever got was 164 and even that decreased from time to time. They recommend no longer than 20 mins at a time. I more than doubled that time staying 42 mins and still wasn't satisfied with the level of sweat/temperature. Which makes it even more not worth it membership-wise. I need a GOOD sweat and this was lacking that for me. The cold plunge was 47 degrees and they only recommended doing it for 2-5 minutes at a time. It was a great feeling and i'd do it again for $15. But worth it for a membership??? - Uhm not so much. Lastly, after experiencing infrared and because of the temperature concerns of not reaching above 164 F, I much prefer the dry sauna (a la LA Fitness). Yup, I can get that at LA Fitness for a fraction of the cost and leave there feeling great with a high metabolism due to all the sweat. This place didn't make me feel that way. Yes its much cleaner than LA Fitness (depending on which LAF you go to), and there's something to be said for that because you want that in a sauna, but all other things considered, price matters especially for what you get. I wish they would consider lowering the cold plunge prices (considering the short nature of it - it's not like you're chilling in there like you would a hot tub for a prolonged period - so I don't get why it's so expensive); either that or double the number of sessions - for the "limited" membership for that particular service. If there was a steam room too it'd be worth it. Or better yet all 4. Steam room, dry and infrared saunas, and cold plunge You do get a private clean room, vit c filtered shower and towels. There is also an iPad in the room to "listen" to whatever you want while there, including "listening" to youtube (not to be confused with watching)....if that matters - but IMO its pretty standard. I wanted this to be 4 or 5 stars, but it just didn't deserve more than 3 stars at the end of the day overall mainly due to price not matching the services. if I lived in the neighborhood maybe but I couldn't see myself driving 25 mins each way multiple times per week for it. The guy that I spoke to on my visit also said he would follow up the following week. I'm still waiting. Lol.

Put succinctly, I love this place. Each time I've visited…read morethe sauna studio I have had a perfect experience. The private sauna suites are cozy and sparkling clean. Each suite is equipped with everything you need to have a great experience including plenty of towels, toiletries for post-sauna clean-up in your private shower, and an iPad to help you set your perfect spa mood. The aroma therapy cooling cloth (in your choice of any of four scents) is a wonderful touch. The chilled, scented cloth will be given to you at the beginning of your session by one of Thrive's amazing staff - each of whom is more friendly and professional than the last - or even Thrive's super personable owner, Lloyd. I expect to continue to return to Thrive for saunas a long time to come.
