I was getting my car serviced and decided to take a walk. I stumbled across hong massage and decided to give them a try. I requested a shoulder massage for 30 mins. This option was not on their menu, however I was accommodated. I specifically said shoulders and arms because this is my touching comfort level. My massage was very good. However, the masseuse went down my back. Even pulling down my pants to my upper buttock area. I've had plenty massages before so I know techniques, and the masseuse didn't do anything wrong. However, working in the legal field, if a male masseuse did this to a female he would be arrested and the salon would have a professional liability claim against them. This is specifically why I asked for shoulders and arms, to stay out the gray area of inappropriate massages. In addition, I didn't like the masseuse attempting to upcharge the services. $10 extra for coconut oil, $30 extra for back scrub, $10 extra to walk on back. I didn't get the full 30 mins either. With all this said, I would still return, The masseuse was friendly, the place was quiet and clean, and she did an excellent job. Just no... overpriced and the massages are mediocre, if that. I literally left feeling the same as when I walked in. They up-charge for everything... even coconut oil. I've had pretty good luck here until yesterday. The lady doing my massage was on her phone texting throughout. At first I thought maybe she was in training because she was basically just rubbing my skin, no muscle pressure or anything. I realized later that she was only using one hand because she was texting with the other. The sad part is when I asked her to please stop texting she said she was checking the time. I told her she's checking the time constantly and for what a massage costs I'd appreciate the time being spent on me and not on her phone. So she wasn't just unprofessional, she was also dishonest. I didn't get her name, but my wife and I won't be back. I can't imagine why anyone would think it is okay to intentionally give a poor massage so they can text on their phone. I am in the worst pain of my life! And this is after the massage! The place was clean so that's a plus. I was offered a massage for a certain price and then another for $10 extra. The higher one was supposed to include body stretching. I said no thank you. The latter will be fine. Both were deep tissue massages. The lady pressed so hard! I told her that it was too much but it seemed like it got worse! I treated myself because it was my birthday and I wanted to relax myself and that certainly didn't happen. Then she said that it was $10 more to use oil for the massage? Wtf?! So I guess that it would have been a dry massage if I said no to the upcharge!? I get Swedish massages regularly at massage Empress, Jeju and Massage Envy. This place was way closer to home so I decided to give them a try. The sign says Swedish Massage: $60 Thai Massage: $80 I came in, I asked for a full body massage. The lady at the front desk kept asking if I wanted a Thai massage(it was more pressure), I said no a regular Swedish is fine. She seemed to have an attitude about me not wanting the higher priced massage. Then for the majority of the massage, she sat in a rolling chair and only lightly rubbed my upper back. I was on my way home from a overnight retreat from a wine and spa resort where I couldn't get a massage because they were booked up so I read a few reviews and took a leap of faith and was not disappointed. My muscles in my neck, shoulders and lower back needed serious attention. I asked for a 60 minute Swedish massage with hot stones. I have to say very satisfied. If your looking for a sleek spa with a modern feel this is not for you however the establishment was clean the employees were polite and I felt like a new woman when I walked out. I went for a foot massage last week. My 30 minute foot massage started 10 minutes later because they had to call someone to come do the massage for me. However all of our massages ended at the same time so I felt that I got a shorter massage. We also wanted to extend our massage to 1 hour since we found out it's $10 more for another 30 minutes but they won't extend it for us but 30 minutes earlier they were okay doing a 1 hour foot/ body massage. This is a great place! Very nice and friendly staff. We got a couples massage and it was nice being in the same "room" together. Our deep tissue reflexology Massage was amazing. Some other places do it way too hard but ours were perfect. They seemed to know what muscles were tense and needed more attention, but at the same time everything was very consistent and equal for both sides so it felt amazing. They used organic cream on the back and neck and hot towels which really hit the spot! Also, they used hot stones to massage the back. The face, eat and neck part was just perfect! Today was my first time going to Hong Massage. When I walked in the door the gentleman seemed very nice at selling the massage. I like the fact the pricing was upfront and they had private rooms. You pay 1st for service and he was already asking me to tip before receiving service. What ruined the experience was the masseuse did not do a consult to see if I was having trouble with any body part or muscle. She didn't explain the different types of massages or demonstrate a variety in the massage. The customer service was below par. At the end of the massage the gentleman told my partner he owed $15 dollars for their special lotion. We gave him $20 and he did not move to give us our change than looked at me and asked if I can tip the masseuse. I gave him $5 to clear my spirit of the moment. In the end, I feel as though I was hustled for an extra $25 dollars and the massage was a c- at best. I will never visit this place again. The place was nice and clean but the service could have been better. You don't ask your customer to tip before and after the service. I have been to Hong Massage 3 times since it opened this spring. It is upstairs in a small shopping center on the corner of Dawson Blvd and Jimmy Carter (maybe 1 minute east of 85). (Turn onto Dawson and immediately right into the lot.) There is an elevator if you don't like steps! The environment was very quiet and relaxing, more so than many of the Chinese massage shops that I've visited. While a TV existed, it was not invasive, and the volume was always off. The music was peaceful, and the body massages were very good. Strong enough without torturing! The masseuse kept trying to upsell me on everything... they don't have a shower to use afterward which is terrible because the oil and towels they used smell of something like floral, jello and chemical combination. I have been going to Hong Massage couple of session and the customer service is not professional at all. Every time i schedule a time for a session the owner will call back and change the time at the last min or at the arrival of my appointment he would change the session time. That's not professional at all. He wants to work other customer in for your schedule time and make extra money. The only person with the experience and knowledge is Angela she is good. I had Jamie at my last 2 appointment and during the session she talked so much and asked too many questions about my personal life and which i thought it was none of her business.
