I had my first float here. Upon arrival I was greeted quickly and the guy who worked there was very nice. He had me fill out a waiver on an iPad. He asked was it my first float and I said that it was. He walked me back to the float room. He explained the whole process. He said to put in my earplugs first and then take a shower. He said to get the provided washcloth wet with shower water and take it into the tank with me should I need to wipe salt away from my eyes or something like that. I put the washcloth where the pool noodle and headrest are so it wouldn't get salty. About the float. I stepped through the half sized door and into the water. When I first got in I liked that the water was not hot or cold. It was just right. At first I'd left the door to the float tank room open because I thought it'd be more comfortable for me that way. Also the guy said it can get a little warmish in the room. I put the noodle behind my neck and started to float. I chose to leave the interior lights on the whole time. At first I thought that 90 minutes was going to seem super long. However, I realized that I hadn't really relaxed yet. I realized that my shoulders were tense like I wasn't trusting the float. I realized I had tension in my leg and face too. Once I just fully relaxed and was comfortable with floating I started to feel the benefit. About 15 minutes in I realized the parts of skin that were above the water were a little chilly. I sat up and closed the door and that made it better. I tried rolling over and floating on my belly with the noodle keeping my mouth above water and that felt ok for a bit but isn't nearly as relaxing. I flipped back over and totally zoned out coming close to falling asleep at one point. About 5 minutes before the music came on to signal that the session was over I'd sat up and was just doing some stretches. All-in-all it's a really pleasant and relaxing experience. I totally recommend it. The only minor downsides and it's not enough to ding a star rating is that the interior could use a little updating. There is exposed insulation at the base of the door frame in the tank room that looks like it's due to moisture. The grout work is a little sloppy in the tile room and the shower floor is a bit meh but nothing all that bad. read more

I called the day before. I made an appointment for the infared sauna. Got some info, guy told me how great it was. I told him I would call back with my availability. Called back an hour later and made an appointment for the following day. I wake up early, battle 40 minutes of traffic and arrive early. Fill out some info and get ready to enter the sauna. I'm shown a large water tub. I ask if this is the infared sauna. I'm told no it isn't. He says the infared sauna will take an hour to start and they haven't started it. I left flo2s way more stressed than when I arrived. Lots of "sorry" and "wasted" time. If you do decide to use this place, maybe don't set a morning appointment and call before you leave the house to see if they have done what they need to do so you don't waste your time and gas like I did. read more

I visited Flo2s with two friends for massage and flotation experience; we will not return. The place is very run down, its as if someone opened up their storage cellar and put up a few decorations. I will say the staff are very friendly and helpful, with one exception, and are happy to answer any questions. The flotation experience was interesting; I enjoyed it and would try it again at a different place. The water in the chamber did not maintain the temperature, the ventilation in the tank was poor and there was only a black light in the room to help you get changed afterwards. The whole room looked like something out of "Silence of the Lambs". As for my massage, I have been getting massages for over twenty years and this was hands down the WORST MASSAGE EVER!!! My masseuse obviously didn't want to be there and shouldn't have been with her absolutely horrific technique. Elbows and knuckles should NEVER be used when massaging someone, nor should jiggling any part of the body because you don't know what you are doing. I yelled "OUCH!" about a dozen times and asked her frequently to adjust the pressure, which she would do for about ten seconds then go back to torturing me. Halfway through the session, I was on the verge of telling her to stop so I could get dressed and leave but I kept thinking it would get better; it didn't. She asked me if I wanted water at the end and then beat a hasty retreat when I declined. There were no instructions on staying hydrated, which is normal, or asking how I felt, she was just there to collect a check. My one friend had a male masseur who did a great job, she came out fully relaxed. When I was getting pummeled on the table, I kept hoping my friend's massage was better; it was her first time ever getting one and I knew if she was enduring the same pain as I was, she would never get another. My other friend had the same woman as I did and the exact same complaints; we both came out more stressed than when we left. read more

I would like to say first of all that it is nice to see that floating is gaining some traction here in Atlanta. FLO2S is a very clean and attractive facility and I liked the space and the owner, Edward very much. Unfortunately, the float itself was lacking based on other experiences I have had. I would like to be clear with readers that FLO2S is not a sensory deprivation experience. To be fair, FLO2S does not market itself as sensory deprivation flotation but many people who have never floated might not not understand this and have the expectation nonetheless. The floats are done here in two built-in room chambers rather than in tanks. The advantages to this setup are lessened risk of claustrophobic feelings, and more airflow as compared to a float tank. The primary disadvantage to this setup is that the chambers are not soundproofed. In fact, I was quite distracted by the telephone conversation the owner of the establishment was having that was clearly audible during much of my float. Moreover, there was audible new age music coming through the walls from the business next door. This was also very distracting and I found that I was not able to achieve the deep meditative relaxation I have experienced with other floats. Another disadvantage to the chamber style float was that the amount of water required to fill the tub is much greater than in float tanks so that the floater experiences significantly more motion than in a tank, which is also distracting. Additionally, I felt as though the concentration of Epsom salts in the chamber was lower than what I have experienced elsewhere and as a result, I felt that my head was sitting lower in the water and I felt a good deal of strain in my neck that I have not felt in other floats. This also contributed to my inability to relax as deeply as I wished. The bottom line is that I gave 3 stars instead of 2 because I am happy that FLO2S exists in Atlanta but the facilities themselves fall short of what I have experienced elsewhere in more traditional flotation tanks that are authentically sensory deprivation. I hope FLO2S can address some of these issues to improve the customer experience. read more

The FLO2S set up certainly meets standards of cleanliness. One of the owners is quite nice, the other .... not so much. I had very good experiences floating, but there were many details that were left out that ended in me sadly cancelling my membership. 1. There was no discussion about the timing of billing and the conversation that was had around it was quite rude. When I came out of my float, the employees were talking about me. 2. There was no discussion about, in my case, hair coloring. Apparently, it is assumed that in L5P Atlanta, no one dyes their hair with vegetable dyes. I was told I could and we'd see how things went. When I finished, no color rinses off in the shower and everything seemed alright. 3. As it turned out, somehow my hair dye was a HUGE problem in the eyes of the owner. (Prior, I had my hair white, so it didn't come up, but I did ask when I was getting ready to dye my hair. I was told to go ahead and give it a try, then we'd see). 4. I made an appointment to float after I had been there with dyed hair. I made this appointment via the phone, thus the owner who made the appointment could have told me there was an issue at that time, but he just went ahead and made the appointment. 5. When I got to my appointment, I was told that I could not float because of my hair dye. Considering that I was speaking to the person that made my appointment, that seemed strange. He went on about how difficult it was to deal with the dye, which is odd because a bit of Comet and my show sparkles. 6. The most unprofessional part was that he then told me that I should bleach my hair back - it looked good that way. So, if you are looking to float and don't care about how billing is arranged and have your natural hair color, go for it. If you want to bill at the first of the month or dye your hair, forget it. The first is a huge hassle and the second one was downright offensive. read more

I went to FLO2S specifically for the floatation tank experience. Their tank is as good as it gets in my opinion. Just the right size, personal showers, easily accessible lighting, and probably the best pricing i've seen when it comes to floating. I didn't take advantage of their membership since I was only in Atlanta for a short weekend but it is well worth looking into if you plan on floating more than once. They were very accommodating and when I unfortunately had to leave early, it was no problem to cancel my last reservation. They also offer massage and UV therapy which I didn't get a chance to check out but if I had the chance, definitely would. read more

It was not the spa that's advertised on their website. They had nowhere for me to put my things. I had to put my bag on the floor. For the ionic foot bath, the staff walked back and forth with an empty plastic coffee container to fill the foot bath. A nail salon has a better set up. It was a regular chair and they had a plastic garbage bag (complete with orange ties) over the foot bath. They said to sit back and relax, but the area is a throughway to the couples massage room and open to the front area, so you can hear all the conversations and the front door opening and closing. It was dingy and stuffy. I paid for an aromatherapy massage and got a regular massage. No scented oils at all! The rusted low pipes, the mildew smell and musty atmosphere were not conducive to relaxing. The staff looked bored and disinterested. They kept forgetting what I was there for. There's no dry place to change to get prepared for the float chamber or to get dressed after. The slippers were graying and looked like they'd been worn by someone else before me and the washcloths and towel they gave me were dingy too. I should've left. It was the worst birthday spa experience I've ever had. I don't know how they got such high reviews. I was so excited to go there and so very disappointed when I got there. After many great and bad service industry experiences, I specifically joined Yelp tonight to give these wonderful people the review they deserve. I have just gone for my first float, and I am so glad that I did not go anywhere else. Megan was wonderful and nice, as most reviewers have said, but I felt like Edward was so deeply caring with what he did that I am most glad he guided us through the process. All the information he gave me resounded, especially at moments when I became unsure in the beginnings of my first float. To describe the whole experience would be nothing new to the internet, though afterwards, Edward was there for us to talk through our experience and make sure that every single thing had been comfortable for us. Both of our pools were ideal for our bodies to completely relax. It is true that you must remember that this is connected to another building. You may hear some slight daytime sounds from the bar. If you cannot accept this, find another floating spa. Unfortunately, the owner will not have rooms for you to float in that they built themselves - in all likelihood, you will be in a free-standing tank purchased from another company. I fell into a very, very deep state of meditation during my first float in spite of any outside murmurs (my own slight breathing or minimal intestinal sounds were much louder) and would consider this sensory deprivation, perfect at least for someone just starting out. Also, I must say that expecting to be able to use this sort of spa with new hair dye in your hair is expecting a lot. When changes to your body are made, usually you must be very gentle and selective with what you do afterwards (hair dye, tattoos). I, for one, am very thankful that FLO2S does not use "a little Comet" to clean out their float rooms. You can tell that they are immaculately taken care of because of the odorless nature of the rooms. I felt so welcome here that I can't wait to return for my next visit. read more

I got one and now I cannot seem to find a time to get the other two. It's a relaxing experience if you can book the time but trying to book a time is extremely frustrating and that takes away from the relaxation. i've floated at a few different places since hearing Joe Rogan speak about it a couple years back. I always wished that there was a tank more centralized to downtown Atlanta. I was ecstatic when I saw one was opening in L5P. I've had 3 sessions so far in their tanks and really love it. They are larger and more open than what you find at most centers. I honestly feel more comfortable in a large tank. Its just not as constricting. Being on the downstairs floor I also found it quieter than other facilities that I've visited. I've only been in the "cave" tank so far, but I'm going to do the "tile" tank this weekend. Both tanks have the shower right beside them so its extremely private. I can't recommend this spot more. If you've never floated, do your self a favor and give it a shot. Its awesome. read more

Don't waste your money on the infrared sauna here.. it doesn't go above 138° and is more expensive than other local competitors. When I called to make my reservation, I asked if the sauna was preheated because I prefer it to get to maximum heat of 158°, they said there was someone in right before me.. however they failed to mention that this sauna just doesn't get to the heat all other saunas get to. I was looking for a good sweat, instead I wasted money.. will not come here again. read more

I first tried a flotation tank 20 years ago when I lived in California. I was glad to hear about FLO2S. I bought my first 3 visits on Groupon at a great price. The environment is "epeaceful and calm. There are several different floatation tanks and you can choose a specific one. (I enjoyed "The Tile Room"). The facility is clean and the flotation tanks are perfect--no noise, no light...just quiet, and a perfect temperature for comfort. When I leave after a float, I feel amazingly peaceful and calm. I'd recommend FLO2S to anyone-- especially those who want to disconnect from the craziness of life for awhile. I like to go during the day to avoid traffic during rush hour. I can usually get in within a few days of booking. Parking and entrance are around the back of the building. They provide towel, shower, soap, and shampoo -- maybe conditioner? Bring shower shoes (just as you would to a gym shower). They also have fantastic massage therapists and other services as well. read more

It was our first time, my girlfriend and I, at Flo2s and it was an amazing experience. I did a sensory deprivation tank in Tampa Florida and it was great so had to find one in Atlanta to have locally. Quickly found FLO2S and saw the great reviews on it. Just as many others have said it was a great place! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the services were extraordinary. We both did a 1 hour massage and 1 hour and half float combo for a special they were running. The massage therapist (Vincent) was very impressive. He was very knowledged on the body and muscles. He did a fantastic job! Will absolutely come back specifically for his services and recommend him to others. The tank was very relaxing and great detox for the body.
