I have been a loyal client of Sole Spa for well over a decade, and when I recently moved back to Atlanta, one of the things I genuinely looked forward to most was returning for regular massages. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing and left me feeling embarrassed rather than relaxed. About ten minutes into my massage, the masseuse asked if I was pregnant. As any woman who is NOT pregnant (or trying to get pregnant or miscarried) can understand, that type of comment can be incredibly hurtful and immediately changes the tone of what should be a calming and restorative experience. It is simply not an appropriate question to ask a client unless the client has already disclosed that information themselves. I brought my concerns to the gentleman at the front desk afterward, hoping for a more thoughtful or empathetic response. Instead, I was met with a passive acknowledgment that my "suggestion" would be passed along. Respectfully, this should not be framed as a suggestion from a customer, but rather as a matter of professionalism and client care. If pregnancy status is relevant for treatment purposes - which I understand it is - then that information should be gathered discreetly through intake forms ahead of time - not through personal assumptions made during a massage appointment. What should have been a relaxing and enjoyable return to a spa I once loved instead became an uncomfortable and hurtful experience. Whether the remainder of the massage was objectively below the standard I remembered or simply overshadowed by the interaction, I cannot say. What I do know is that I left feeling disappointed, self-conscious, and far from relaxed. I sincerely hope Sole Spa takes this feedback seriously, because long-time clients should leave feeling cared for and respected - never humiliated. read more

90 minute treatment feet and shoulders Pros- the foot massage was very good. She did a great job on the arch of my left foot. Cons- each foot did not receive equal treatment. -The neck and shoulder massage was average. And too long, not allowing enough time on feet. -I walked in 4 minutes before my massage and made a bathroom trip. Apparently they start your massage when you walk through the door even if you arrive early.. I noticed when I went to pay that I still had 5 minutes left, and treatment had ended a few minutes prior to when I noticed. -No water offered at end. -walking back to the creepy parking garage at night isn't so great read more

I've been to other foot massages up and down Buford Hwy. They're normally strangely decorated, a little dated and shabby, and loud from customers coming in and out. I've also been to the fancy and mid priced places in Buckhead, which are expensive, crowded and want you in and out quickly. Sole Spa had none of those issues. It has a nice (albeit small) lobby, but the massage area is awesome. In the foot massage area, there is an exposed brick wall, high ceiling, live plants and candles throughout. It was also remarkably quiet considering there were three other people in the right reclining chairs. I did a foot massage, which was a combination of pressure massage and oil massage. They also provided a very above average shoulder massage using oil, but underneath my shirt. At the end, they provide some arm and leg stretching as well as some shoulder and hip flexing. Next time I'd opt for a 60 minute session (I did 45), which includes more arm and leg massage. This is definitely my new go to spot. read more

The girlfriend surprised me with a couples spa for our anniversary. It was truly an amazing experience. The establishment is really tucked away in a building and doesn't appear like a spa until you actually enter the building. It's small, cozy, and comfortable. The parking was simple and the check-in process was great. We got there at our scheduled time and were immediately taken back to our room. We had Linda and Brandon. According to the girlfriend, Brandon was great, and from my own personal experience, Linda was phenomenal. They both were very accommodating, polite and made adjustments to our needs during the massage. Once the full body massage was over, we were taken to the main room where we got our feet massaged as well. This was a little different for me as there were other patrons getting body massages in the main room. While they were not exposed, I am not sure if I would feel comfortable with that so I will definitely ask for a private room on my next visit. Always love Sole Spa! What sets it apart for me is the ambiance. It's dark, quiet, and calm (unlike TYF where people are shuffling in/out loudly, doors opening, talking, etc). They also give you a blanket, heated aromatherapy neck wrap, and cover your eyes with a towel to block out the light. Massages are good. Pressure is usually a bit lighter than other places but just ask! Had a great massage with Luis yesterday and he was really kind and attentive and asked what pressure I wanted. Will definitely see him again! The only downsides are space is small but I've never gone when it was so full that I was too close to someone. Parking is paid/walk a touch but it's Atlanta (but someone else said it was free so maybe I'm missing it). Would definitely recommend! read more

This used to be such a nice place. Not sure what has happened but I'd definitely say premium pricing and location doesn't match the experience. The receptionist are rude and the masseurs are not all consistently trained. It definitely feel very short of the $204 I paid for services to aid my back and neck pain. After requesting their most experienced therapist and explaining my ailments and the knots in my neck and back I was expecting to come out relaxed and soothed. Instead I came out frustrated and wanting. I booked the 90 minute indulgence package with detox. The former was highly recommended. Detox was great and relaxing but the foot massage was only "so so" and the neck, back, and shoulder massage was horrid. I'd equate that massage to something I'd done with my friends in middle school. It was through clothes with basic circular massage motions. Knots were poked and also mashed in a circle. The experience had no rhyme or reason. The check out experience also left much to be desired. The tipping process was confusing and when I shared my displeasure with the service I was greeted with silence from one and rolled eyes from the other. In total, this place or Treat your Feet are ok for basics. For the real deal see someone trained and go somewhere with a more pleasant staff. read more

Holy moly... the BEST!!! I ran a half marathon last weekend and was in town for a friends wedding party and to visit my sister and brother-in-law. My fiancé asked if there was a place I could get a foot massage because I have plantar fasciitis, and my sister told us about The Sole Spa where her colleague took her for her birthday a couple of years ago. I emailed them and they were so responsive and got me in and for $60, I got an hour of heavenly treatment. 10 minutes on shoulders, 30 minutes on feet, and 20 minutes on my back + 10 mins foot soak for $10 extra. Came here for an hour long couples massage with detox for soak. I was surprised to find the services being performed in the common area vs in a private room. Your clothes remain on and you are covered with a blanket for warmth as you sit in an extremely wide chair that can recline you into a prone position for them to work on your back. It's actually really relaxing with the dim lights and music.... as long as it's silent. In the open environment, you hear every word above a whisper, every door open and close, every employee movement to clean up from other customers. If you're easily distracted, that can be a deal breaker for the experience. The massage itself was not bad... my massuse used lots of forearm strokes on my back and legs but no deep pressure relief. I've been here multiple times but I've only ever gotten foot and body massages in the big lounge chairs, which I love! But today I wanted to do a full body massage and it was terrible. I was rubbed down for what felt like 30 mins with no lotion, just a sheet in between my back and the gentleman's hands. I didn't even get a foot massage and that was my main concern going in. I was given a scalp and hand massage towards the end. Then I go to the counter and the paper says back massage and she's says it's $90 but I didn't schedule a back massage, I wanted a full body. I was in complete heaven for two hours and didn't want to leave. The Sole Spa has truly been one of my best spa experiences here in Atlanta. From the time I walked into the spa area, I left all my troubles behind and enjoyed being pampered by Amanda. She was amazing! Before I begin I have to give credit to Travel Zoo for finding this one for me. Well, actually it was my Hubby who surprised me with this deal and now I've become a regular customer. The atmosphere was peaceful and very relaxing. I requested a cup of tea before I got started which always helps to relax me even more. I started with a full body massage, from head to toe. Amanda released the tension I had in my neck and shoulders, it was exactly what I needed. She used a combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue massage technique as I requested. She happily obliged and didn't leave an area untouched and cared for. She took her time and gave my body what it needed. Next, we moved into the area where the lounge sofa's are where she had prepared a tub of warm to slightly hot water for me to soak my feet in. The water also had slices of lemon in it. While my feet soaked she gave me the most incredible face massage. It was at that moment I began to fall asleep. After she dried my feet she began reflexology that lasted for about 45 minutes and it was the best that I had experienced. I absolutely love this place! I gave it 5 stars because of the following: Price: it is absolutely so affordable, especially to be in the Buckhead area. My hour long foot massage was only $40. Parking: everyone complaints about the parking, but I never really had a problem. I usually park in the garage that is attached to the building, then walk to the front. It's a little bit of walking, but I don't mind. It's $5 for 2 hours. Sole Spa will refund you that $5 if you show them your parking receipt. So nice of them to do that, isn't it? Ambience: even though this place is run like a Chinese massage place, it is so much better than Treat your feet. It is dark and relaxing. No talking! Gawd, I couldn't stand the talking at Treat Your Feet. They also put a heating pillow on your neck while they massage your feet. My favorite! I've been here a few times and have always enjoy my time. Staff: I like my massages rough and the staff has always catered to me. I love the reflexology and the deep tissue massages. Details: they provide mouth wash and random things in the bathroom for you to use. They also provide paper cups for you to use the mouth wash with, which is very accommodating. Massage lasts the entire sixty minutes and courteous kind staff. However... Parking is awful. They have a few tiny spots... Be careful if u have a sport utility. The free spots are squally taken which means you will be paying for parking in the upper lot. Seems like they may have given us some kind of discount on parking but man it was a pain. You can bring wine and they will provide the glasses, but there really isn't time to drink if you are doing a back massage package. The ladies were super sweet and even offered to take our pictures. I have been to this spa twice. Both experiences were absolutely fantastic! I recently did their 60 minute Crystal Mud Foot Soak and it was wonderful! They massage your neck, shoulders, arms, hands, calves, and feet in an open room. While your feet soak they massage your upper body. The first time I went I did their basic foot massage which is similar, with only Epsom salts in the foot soak. I've gone with four other individuals that all had positive experiences as well. I absolutely recommend this spa for their services at their price point, totally worth it! And a bargain in my opinion! I recommended wearing a spaghetti strap top or camisole so they don't have to work around your clothing. read more
