I have been going to Zenna's for years, so the review is based on overall years together. FOOD: Even though they are a Thai/Japanese Restaurant, there is something here for everybody. We love to go here for happy hour (which is incredible--$1 beers, $2.50 Wells) with a huge assortment of small plates to share at $6 or less. One of my favorites is the rice paper wrapped & fried shrimp. I have never had anything to eat here that wasn't great. ATMOSPHERE: This is where it gets tricky. This is not an upscale, swanky restaurant. It is a local favorite, where you are just as likely to see someone you know or some of Plano's finest Police Officers. Did I mention they are open to 3 a.m.?! SERVICE: Our server was Lyn, who was top notch! She took care of us and was really friendly. Thank you Zenna's management for having the waitstaff to wear name tags--I like to give recognition for great waitstaff. TIP: Ask for the spicy chili sauce for those rice paper fried shrimp, much more interesting combo. read more

My friend recommended this sushi restaurant, we came here for lunch & the staff was friendly & attentive. We ordered 4 sushi rolls (2 Midnight Rolls, 1 Caterpillar Roll & 1 California Roll) & a variety of sushi orders (White Tuna, Fresh Salmon, Smoked Salmon, Yellowtail & Albacore). Food is fresh & sushi rolls full of flavor. The rice on sushi orders on the other hand was a little harder than I'm used to. The server was attentive and helpful. Overall good experience for lunch break. Also found out that they deliver and stay open late so definitely a plus. read more

Good food. Nice hang out. There's a secret Thai menu you'd have to ask for. Recommend green curry Also recommend happy hours Only cons is service can be hit or miss but that's to be expected from anywhere read more

The food is incredible. I am a regular customer who comes in pretty often. I typically always get the combination fried rice level 4 spicy with a side of pork ribs and sometimes some shrimp tempura sushi depending on how im feeling. They have some of the best dried rice that I've ever had. Not greasy buy yet so much flavor. The service here isn't the best but after a while you get use to it you kind have to get there attention every now and then. So don't be afraid to raise your hand up in the air to get one of the workers of assistance. The ambiance is okay nothing special its just a place to get some pretty good food. They also close pretty late typically at 3 am. But they change it sometimes to 12am. read more

I placed an order for pick up at lunch time. I requested a lunch portion of the entree and sushi and when I arrived they had prepared the large portion. I attempted to speak with the cashier regarding the mistake and he refused to alter the price or portion to correct the order. To top things off, this is how the sushi appeared when I received it... I will NOT BE BACK! Horrible customer service. read more

Zenna- Plano - C4. Yellow Curry with a bug in it - Thai Near Me - Plano, Texas

My baby sister raves about how great this place is and for her birthday lunch, she wanted the whole family to take her here. We were like, "sure, okay" Including her friends, there were 14 people in our party. When we got there, the place was not packed. However, it seemed like they were understaffed because there was nobody at the hostess booth to sit us down. We had to wait at least a good 15 minutes before we were seated. No biggie. After we sat down and looked over the menu, it took them a good while to take our orders. Like I said, we had 14 people in our party and only one waitress to serve us. Not a problem, right? We weren't in a rush anyway. I opted for the pad see ew bento box because my sister recommended it. However, after everybody else got their orders. I didn't get mine. After another 10 minutes, I had to ask where my order was and apparently it had been sitting out for a while. She just forgot to give it to me. Wowza! Well, my bento box came with some edamame, which at this point was already COLD. No good. The pad see ew was actually pretty good and it had the potential to be REALLY good had it been warmer. Why didn't I ask them to just make me a new one? Well, at this point, I was starving. I didn't want to wait much longer. The bento box also came with a couple of California rolls, salad with creamy dressing, and a vegetable eggroll. All these were pretty average compared to other places that have them. I also ordered the heaven beef and this was actually really good. If you like beef, I think you would like this little dish. Highly recommended. Anyway, I hope my experience here is just a one-off experience. Since the food was actually pretty tasty and they're actually pretty reasonably priced. I think I'd go back and try this place out again. read more

I really want to like this place. My 14 yr old daughter loves it. She gets the chicken teriyaki every time and it Is plated really nicely. She doesn't like me to touch her food so I haven't tasted it. I've tried a few things on the menu... the fried rice, the pad see ew and the tom kha soup. They were decent, but not great. The pad see ew was kind of gummy and the tom kha was too sweet after awhile. Couldn't finish a small bowl of it. I do like that they are open until midnight every night. read more

Ordered thru Uber Eats. The spring rolls were amazing and sweet and sour sauce is amazing, but the Padi Thai had this weird fowl smell, I had to throw it out which is unfortunate because this is the main reason why I ordered. Not sure what sauce or whatever they're using but def don't recommend. read more

The food was really good. Being a vegetarian, I had plenty of options like Pad thai with tofu, green curry, Futomaki roll. Usually I detest rolls but to my surprise I tried because of a friend's recommendation and it was a good one. Service and ambience was good for a regular weekend dine out. And yes the cocktail was amazing both in taste and looks. read more

Zenna is usually pretty good especially with their delivery. I enjoy their rolls and sashimi but tonight's order was very disappointing. Usually I get nice pieces of fish but tonight you'd think there was a salmon and tuna shortage. The pieces were tiny and very thinly sliced when I'd usually get a nice slab to get my teeth into and the rolls seemed smaller too. The order was split between two which is usually good but we were both left unsatisfied and wanting more. I should have written a review before because it would have been a solid 4 stars so I'm really basing this review from previous experiences. Overall I could have paid about the same and got a decent buffet at Japan House or similar. Zenna need to improve their fish portions if they're going to retain their customers. read more

Terrible online ordering experience. Online ordering is supposed to be convenient but Zenna's online ordering system is such a mess that it's a hassle. First off, I was unable to put in my entire work address into the address line because it cuts you off after a certain amount of characters. After I put in my order AND paid for it with my credit card, they called me to confirm my order by reading back my entire order ever so slowly. Then they say "oh it's a $1.50 delivery fee. Is that ok?" Yeah, that's fine. "Do you want to pay cash or credit?" Well, I already put my credit card number online so can you please charge the delivery fee to the credit card? "Ok." 5 minutes later I receive another call from them to confirm my order and to again tell me it's $1.50 for the delivery fee. They once again asked cash or credit. I said credit and they said "oh well we don't save your credit card number from your online order so if you want the delivery fee charged to your card we need the number." Okay so...what was the point of putting my order AND paying online if they're going to call me and have me read out my credit card number to them? AND THEY STILL MESSED UP MY ORDER! I would be less upset if my messed up order tasted good but my dishes tasted straight up microwaved. I ordered two beef pad kee mows (drunken noodle), one a level 2 and the other a level 5. They forgot to add any spice to either one of the orders. When we called to complain that they messed up the order they were absolutely unapologetic and not willing to help us in anyway. When they realized how annoyed we were, they said the most they can do is send a delivery guy out to give us the chili powder but it would take at least 30 minutes. Okay, it already took 1 hour to receive our food and now we have to wait at least another 30 minutes while our food gets cold for someone to bring chili powder so we can add the spice ourselves? They're supposed to mix in the spice while they're cooking it but they thought bringing us the chili powder to add to it ourselves would make up for it. Ok. Like how you gon' call ME twice and confirm my order TWICE and still get it wrong? I'm shook. Then we receive a call from the manager. He has the nerve to belittle us and tell us the spice is there, some people just can't tell. Buddy, I ordered a level 5. That's the spiciest level there is. If there are no chili flakes and I can't taste ANY spice - it's not there!! I LOVE spicy food so I think, I THINK I can tell what spicy tastes like. He recommended that next time we ask for extra chili powder on the side since it wasn't hot enough for us. Ummm, we shouldn't have to do that if we ordered a level 5 and you made it a level 5. Own up to your mistakes dude and fix your customer service. Also the beef quality in the drunken noodle has gone way down. It was drier and not as tender as usual. Tasted microwaved. The manager tried to rectify the situation by giving us credit for two drunken noodle dishes for another day. We ordered drunken noodles level 5 again and gave them another chance and wow - NOT spicy at all AGAIN!!!. I even asked for extra chili powder on the side on top of ordering level 5 and THEY FORGOT THAT TOO! Are they just tryna spite me at this point? Just an overall terrible experience. Will never order from Zenna again. read more

New menu is great and better spice level. New management took, but was quite rude when we asked to turn on some light while having dinner. First time Zenna has ever done this, and it got pretty dark to the point of having to pull out our phone flashlight to look at the menu. We asked kindly to our server to ask the manager. He literally was like, "WTF WHY?!?" New manager really needs to watch his facial expressions and attitude! read more

Disappointed that when we walked in there's a guy sitting on the floor in front of the bathrooms charging him a phone and talking on it. The bathroom and bar area stinks. We like this place but you have candy wrappers and trash outside on your sidewalks and parking lot. Clean up your restaurant exterior! We specifically asked for mango sticky rice only if the mango was ripe. It was served yellow and green unripe. :( we sent it back. Service was good otherwise. 2/8/17 Much cleaner tonight outside! Our waiter was amazing for dinner! Meal was superb! Thank you! 8/3/17 Great food tonight read more

This place is super convenient when you have the late-night hunger attacks but you don't wanna eat fast food! I tried the pad see ew and it was pretty standard for the dish. This location in the Zenna chain is neck and neck with the one in Mesquite as being the worst in the chain. I ordered from this establishment last evening that I was not at all satisfied with at all. I was totally appalled to be honest. The Spring roll were okay. The Veggie Pad Thai tasted absolutely awful and had a very fowl smell to it. I order from them quite often and was very shocked with what I received. I phoned the established to no avail, I sat on the phone for over 15 mins and NO ONE picked up - had the pleasure of listening to the automated machine advising to send a text regarding questions about orders or other matters. I agree with others that this customer service they provide is beyond unsavory. read more

They no longer have their bento box lunch specials, and the lunch specials now only save $0.50-$1.00 in comparison to their dinner sizes. Their lunch special is literally just a lunch portion of their dinner menu. I don't necessarily feel as though that is worth it. Part of the pull of Zenna's was their HH and their lunch specials. Their lunch special is no longer as good of a deal, and the HH at this location is not as good as the HH (quality and portion size) at the Carrollton location. I would probably go to the Carrollton or downtown Dallas location over the Plano location. In addition, the parking at the Plano location is very sparse. I'd save your trip and go elsewhere! read more

John the server is absolute trash! Tbh I wish I was seated with the gentleman with long hair because I was seated next to a table at the exact same time and the gentleman with long hair kept doing his job checking on his guest 4 times to be exact in 8 minutes and my server John was no where to be found... I mean damn why is it necessary to ask for silverware when food hits the table???? Why can't you bring a coke when ordered at the beginning??? On top of that when I asked for a new warm appetizer because I didn't want to eat with my hands he goes on with a tone like well you eat them with your hands..... I'm not to sure if he was weeded or just didn't care to be there but come on bro your attitude sucks if you don't like your job then quit.... I too am a server and I just don't understand that mentally of not taking care of your guest??? I have dined at Zenna well over 100 times, and if the few reviews I've written about them say anything, it's that their quality of service seems to change almost as frequently as their management. But my experience there last night was unlike any other thanks to a server named Lyn who I had not seen before. Lyn does not belong at Zenna, she belongs at Abacus or The French Room. How Zenna scored a server like her is beyond me. Lyn was perfect. She came out promptly after we were seated to say hello: she was easy to understand and very upbeat. Everything she did gave the impression that the quality of our experience was important to her. She brought our drinks quickly. When taking orders she asked all the right questions to make sure everything came out just as we wanted it. When the lamb chops weren't out yet, she noticed it before we did and said she'd go check on them. She knew one person in our party did not like spicy, so when bringing the Tom Kha Soup (sharing size), she proudly proclaimed that this one would be "just the right spicy" for the spice-lovers, but not too much for the others. She was dead-on! She was always quick to refill drinks and clear plates we set aside. The icing on the cake, which I always appreciate, is that she put the pasta in a to-go box for us. I strongly dislike being left with boxes and bags to take care of myself, and her doing this for us table-side was nice. (I actually prefer this to taking it back in the kitchen because I can see it the whole time and know how it is laid out in the box (e.g. lots of liquid so don't turn sideways). Our order last night consisted of: Lamb Chops - Served with moderately bland mashed potatoes, but the meat was delicious and perfectly tender. Chilean Sea Bass - They did such a good job on this. Slightly crispy on the outside, hot enough to burn just a bit, but bursting with flavor. Tuna Tar Tar - Tasted fresh, came out fast, very good dish. Family-Size Tom Kha Soup w/ Chicken - Mildly spiced with the lightest kick, everyone enjoyed it. Heavy on the liquid-to-stuff ratio, I'd probably ask for extra mushrooms or more chicken next time. Retro Roll - Delicious and probably the best deal on their rolls. It's basically a Philadelphia roll topped with salmon and white tuna. They serve it with fresh jalopeno which you may not enjoy, but it's easy to take off. Tuna Roll - Hard to go wrong here. Hawaiian Pasta Chicken - I thought it was a little too saucy but the person who ordered it liked it. I guess I wasn't in a pineapple mood. Great food, great service, great prices. At least this time! read more

This place use to be ok. Food has been mediocre for a while, but last 3 times I've ordered for delivery (both on phone and online), The food never came. I live 2 miles away and they can't seem to make a delivery. They're either incompetent, or, they really don't care. It used to be nice having a late delivery restaurant that served half-ass food so I wouldn't have to leave the house, but this was the last straw. I guess their nightlife patronage has gone to their heads. They don't have time to maintain their quality or their guaranteed service and delivery. See ya Zenna. read more
