I ordered the combination Thai fried rice and wasn't what I expected honestly. The fried rice just needed a little more flavor and the rice was too soft for my liking. Zenna before isn't the same as it used to be as this used to be one of my favorite to-go Thai/Japanese restaurants.
Happy hour is undefeated here ! Love this spot for some good sushi and nigiri. Zenna used to have multiple locations but I believe this is the only one standing. I'm truly grateful because this is a forever gem. Service is always attentive and courteous. Staff here are knowledgeable of all the menu items and polite. I enjoy each meal which usually include the spicy tuna roll, salmon nigiri, and Philadelphia roll. I will also throw in a Long Island ice tea to set the mood right . My type of vibe here . Please come check this spot out and enjoy a great meal.
I haven't been back in years cause it was terrible last time. BUT! They've redeemed themselves. My partner and I were hungry and he had never been and since this place opened late and I told him about it. When we arrived, we had plenty of parking space. This place used to be such a hot spot that parking was hard and towing's enforced. Anyways, their sushi is not very good. It used to be better but I don't know what happened- no longer very fresh and they seemed to skimp on the fishes. Soft shell crab was underwhelming & falling apart. The crab was tiny and barely anything. The boat noodles' delicious and so was the panang sauce. If we were hungry at late night nights again, I'd come back for the Thai food- much better!
Overall Rating: 4.0 (0 = good, X = bad) 1. Atmosphere: O Atmosphere was quaint, not much to say about it, standard and fair. They do have live music courtesy of musician Joe during my visit which either hate or love but I enjoyed it personally. 2. Service: O Their standout if anything, the waiter was exceptional. Very kind and quick to tasks. Also if it's your birthday they do give you a free desert and musician Joe was super cool. 3. Food/Products: O Food tasted good, a standout for me was the seagull roll which was affordable for "eating out" and blew my expectations. 4. Pricing: O Mostly average or cheaper pricing than most places you'd find if you went to eat out. Seagull was like 8 dollars and I spammed 4 of them. 5. Overall Experience: O It was very pleasant, I went on my birthday so musician Joe was cooking it up and I did get a free desert from it. My sister and were looking to try a new Thai place and this popped up. Bonus points because it's also a Japanese restaurant. Came in a on a Saturday evening for an early dinner and was surprised they had happy hour on a weekend. The happy hour is from 4pm - 7pm and it's everyday. It was too busy when we went and were sat right away. Started off with the heaven beef and chicken wings, both are part of the happy hour menu. Heaven beef was very flavorful and had a spicy sauce to go with it. Chicken wings were crispy and hot when they arrived to the table. They have different flavors you can choose from as well. The volcano roll was more than I expected, it's pretty much a full meal even though it's sushi. My sister enjoyed her panang curry and it was as paired with rice. The service was great from start to finish. Our server came to check on us multiple times, making sure we were able to get in our happy hour orders as well. Def recommend this place and def will be back to try other items.
I do not underhand the low reviews. I'll start with the only low point. It is a Thai and sushi place, but it is a bar open until 3 AM. It can get loud inside and it's not the fanciest place. But we are here god food, not decoration! Zenna has had multiple locations around the DFW metroplex over the years. The Plano location has always been the best and consistent. Service is always good, food comes out quick no matter how busy they are. The appetizers are great from the pork ribs, the heavenly beef to the unique crab Rangoon dip. One or two of these are always ordered when we go. Always have to get some kind of sushi. Rice is made great for it, slightly sweet and not bland. Fish always seems fresh. Our go t's for entrees are the peanut beef, pad see ew and pad Thai. They are always consistent and full of flavor. We will drive an hour past two other Zenna locations to go here. We have spent many a Friday night with friends here and will continue to!
It's been sooooo long since I last had Zenna & boy did I miss it!! This is the perfect spot to go when you're craving classic sushi rolls or thai food. I started with the midnight roll and it came out fairly quick. While eating the midnight roll, I also ordered a bowl of chicken tom yum soup and a plate of pad see ew. Everything came out pretty quickly all while being piping hot!! They have different drink specials everyday. & 1/2 off all shots on the weekends I believe! Everyone from the host, to the servers to the table cleaners were so nice & attentive!! They sat us quickly, served us quickly, and cleaned up as needed fairly quickly. Whether you're coming for an early dinner or late night snack, this is the place in dfw to be!! The ambiance is casual so no need to feel over/underdressed!! They also close at 3AM so what are you waiting for? GO GO GO

If you just need super casual no-frills Japanese/Thai dining, this will work. I've only visited this location, so I can't speak for the others. Pros: 1- The teriyaki chicken and shrimp combo and fried rice came out hot and seemed like it wasn't under a heat lamp. 2- The sushi was enjoyable and fresh enough. 3- The happy hour margarita was $5. Cons: 1-The shrimp in the teriyaki meal had a "fishy" taste and smell. I'm not sure what would cause this, but I wouldn't order it again. 2- The place is very shabby and unassuming, and is in the parking lot of a motel 6. The entrance has signage that looks like a bar. The "open" sign that lights up, and printed papers on and around the front door. 3- The hot food seemed eerily similar to the Chinese mall spots with the photos on the menu. I can always rely on this spot for AMAZING food! We have been countless times and are never let down by anything I've tried. A staple for me is the tom kah soup, it's so creamy and packed full of flavor, you can get it with a protein and choice of noodles or rice. Perfect for a cold day or any day. All of their noodle dishes are great, many options for whatever you're feeling and you'll never get bored. SO. MUCH. FLAVOR! I'm always sure to get a beef salad as well, it light, crisp and forever fresh! It's a great pallet cleanser for the many flavors you are sure to taste at this spot. And you can never go wrong with sushi! They offer all the typical rolls and some unique ones as well. Cleanliness of this restaurant is not superb, it could really be much better (sticky tables and menus). Also the service could use an up tweak as well. It seems that they are under staffed most of the time but I see the servers are working hard and trying their best with the heavy flow of traffic. Ranso had been our server many times and he is a superstar. He really goes above and beyond to accommodate the customers. Thank you Ranso! What I love most is that this establishment is open so late!! Having a 3am closing time ensures we can have a great meal well into the night. What a great way to end a night out drinking with friends with a delicious meal! I'm giving it 5 stars due to the food alone, the kitchen really knows their stuff. Pros: Our waitress Lynn! She was on TOP of it, even with a packed restaurant we were in and out in an hour. I was super impressed with her friendly demeanor and attentiveness. Will return just because of her! Prices were great too. It was nice to have a date night where a cocktail was under $10. Ordered the mango martini and it was fruity and good. Ordered the steamed gyoza after reading a review that they were better than the fried, and they were delicious. Reminded me of soup dumplings, without the broth of course. Would order again for sure. Next time I intend to try the fried to compare. Cons: Wasn't crazy about the sushi. Ordered an Alaskan roll, rainbow roll, and shrimp tempura. They were okay! They weren't bad by any means but they didn't leave my wanting more after a few bites of each. Springs rolls stayed extremely hot for almost 10 mins after coming to our table, the hubby burned his tongue. They were pretty good, just hot and tested my patience waiting on them lol! Overall, a simple and inexpensive date night option. For one martini, 2 appetizers and three rolls, after tip was about $63. Not bad for a sushi date, although I will try an entree next time rather than the sushi. read more

I'm a noob when it comes to Thai food so I don't know much about what's considered good and what's considered not. With that said, and with my limited Thai food experience, I did quite enjoy their pad thai! I think what I enjoyed most about it was the noodle texture. It was one of those textures that make it very pleasant to eat, so it just made it all the better. It was also incredible value. The portion size was no joke, and for the price they charge it at, it is definitely worth it. If you're looking for a quick bite of Thai food and are super hungry, this is definitely the place to go. I don't doubt there are better Thai places in the area, but if you're going for quantity over quality, as I often do, then this is the place to go. Only giving it three stars cus yes good is goood BUT my man asked him if the cucumber salad had onion in it as I'm pregnant and nauseous to the point I throw up at slightly any smell and I HATE onions so the dude told him no it didn't and as soon as I open the box , the overwhelming putrid stench of onion hit my nostrils. This man had deceived me and honestly I could've made a better salad at home . The salad was MAJORITY onion so I really couldn't eat it. What a waste of money as well as I hadn't eaten all day and this was the only thing that sounded appealing at all. Shame on this place and I probly won't come here again. read more

I ordered: Crab Ragoon Dip The drip is warm, the texture is interesting almost similar to rice rice pudding. The fried wontons are a excellent combination. Pad See-Eew (Spice level 2, no bean sprouts) The noodles were big, as I have never eaten flat noodles that are almost the size of a cocktail napkin. The sauce was too salty for me. The spice level, was too much (I don't eat very spicy). Dragon Roll The roll was excellent; typical dragon roll. Side of Fried Rice The portion of the order was actually more than I expected. The taste ok: not too dry or salty, but no really flavor. Crispy Fried Banana with Vanilla Ice The ice cream was nothing out of the ordinary. We love Zenna Thai! The food is always fresh and delicious. We mainly come for the small plates because we like a lot of variety. The lamb chops, heaven beef, garlic ribs, shrimp dishes, etc are all amazing and flavorful. My husband loves the curry. I order them via Uber eats as well for the Thai fried rice almost every week. One of our fave spots! read more
We went on a Wednesdays night and the chill atmosphere was great and we got seated pretty fast. The server was friendly and got our orders without writing anything down, though that turned out to be detrimental to one of our friends. Other than that and couple missing menus, I say service was superb. I ordered the drunken noodle with shrimp. It's one of dish that's hard to screw up. The waitress asked me what level of spiciness I wanted. I asked 2 out of 5, but as it turns out, I could not taste the spice at all. However, the noodles were amazing. It wasn't over-salty like I'm used to tasting at other Thai restaurants. The size of the shrimp was applaudable as it definitely exceeded my expectations from a casual Asian place. Zenna has the best happy hour in Plano. There are several locations across the DFW metroplex. $2.75 well drinks, sushi rolls under $4 & tapas plates under $5. I love the tempura shrimp roll which is about $3.50. Happy hour is DAILY from 3-7pm. read more
So I've passed this place several times on the interstate and never made the time to try it; man am I kicking myself for not stopping in sooner! I came in with my Uncle Friday for a late lunch. He loves Thai food, as well as myself; so I googled the closest place to us and ended up here. Honestly when pulled in we both were like.... Ehhhh.... Gave us run down Chinese buffet vibes from the outside. And honestly I get iffy when Asian restaurants offer different cuisines (eg. this place is Thai and Sushi); most tend to be a disappointment. So for starters, walking in this place it's huge, unique decor; but the place overall is clean and the staff was very friendly coming in. We were sat and very quickly greeted by our waitress. She was amazing by the way; especially running the whole place solo. I was reading other reviews and I dunno; some people take away stars for silly reasons. And FYI (I'm Asian; so don't no body take no offense to this) normally really authentic, hole in the wall places, that cook to order, where the food is fabulous, and have all Asian staff; the service of the waitress is not always the best, but that's how it is over seas. They get your drinks and take your order and let you eat. So these bad reviews just based on service; y'all go zip it! And for the record; our waitress was amazing! She recommended amazing dishes to try that were more authentic to the cuisine. So let's go back to the menu. They have several. Drink menu, which I didn't look at bc I really don't drink; a lunch menu that I also didn't look at bc I like dinner portions, and authentic Thai menu and then the regular Zenna menu with Thai and sushi. My rating is solely on taste of food, excluding sushi, because we did not order any sushi. We each ordered a bowl of the tom kha and tom yum soups; both were amazingly delicious. Next we got the tulips dumplings steamed, they were good. Then we just ordered a bunch of plates to try. The Thai Basil crisp pork was really nice, the beef salad, the water spinach with crisp pork and the dried fish salad were all AMAZING! Highly recommend! The flavor profiles; everything just made me feel like I was in Thailand eating. The Heaven beef was good; but I've never had it with coriander; so if you don't like coriander don't get this one. The side of the cucumber salad was great and the salted egg salad was good as well. If you don't like authentic Thai food don't order half of what we ordered. Now I'm a lover of mango and sticky rice; but I changed it up and went with our waitress' recommendation of the coconut custard. OMG! Amazing! Not overly sweet; but that balance of flavors. Definitely will be back here trying other dishes we didn't get to this visit! I haven't really been wowed by many restaurants since moving here; don't get me wrong there are great places here; but nothing has wowed me like this in a minute! Definitely come here! read more

Zenna's food is amazing! The heaven Beef is my absolute favorite. My family goes here at least once a month on Sunday and the food is always amazing. I appreciate the staff as well but I have one major complaint and it's pretty important. I hate to complain at all but I just hope someone takes this into consideration. So like I said, we usually come on Sunday afternoon. For some reason they BLAST the most terrible music ever at a completely unreasonable loud level. It's not a club okay? It is soooo irritating. My family have just accepted we are going to eat and fight to converse the entire time. Who would think this is a good idea? It's soooo miserable. It's only for the amazing food that we come back. Anyways, just thought people should know that and hopefully management addresses it because when we ask in person nothing even changes. read more

Zenna's used to be my go-to /favorite Thai food restaurant but the food quality has plummeted and I can no longer recommend or justify spending my own money here! I ordered the spicy basil friend rice (a staple and all time favorite) however the past few orders have been incredibly bland and underwhelming! read more

This was my first time at this restaurant and I thought overall it was pretty tasty honestly. I got the vegetable fried rice and it was literally so amazing. I can easily say this is the best fried rice I've had probably ever. I feel like I could taste every flavor that was present. It kind of had a hint of sweetness. I would definitely return and get the same thing. I also had a margarita which was good & a tequila pineapple ! Now that's officially my favorite drink! This was the first time I've ever had it and 10/10 they have great drinks here. They have a really good happy hour and our server was really sweet his name was Johnny. He had the drinks coming and the food coming super fast! The one thing about this restaurant I don't like is the interior decor. I feel like the quality of the food does not compare to the environment . It could be a little nicer on the inside but honestly that's not a huge factor for me just an observation. read more
This place is always busy no matter what time of the day one stops by. They have daily happy hour specials which fills the place up right before dinner so get there in time if you want to take advantage of them. I'm a creature of habit so I always get the same thing, Spicy basil fried rice with chicken and a side of peanut sauce, the level of spice is just right. My husband always gets a curry, he enjoys the Panang and yellow curry with chicken, extra spicy. Prices are great, staff is usually rushed due to how busy the are, crowd always seems to be youthful towards the evening. They are open super late so it's a good place to head to after hours. read more

We went here over a year ago in the height of the pandemic. We didn't care for the atmosphere but the food was good. So I convinced my husband to try it again for takeout. Once again it was really good! I also appreciate the ease of use of ordering on the website. And the food was ready before scheduled. Overall a good experience and we will be back for takeout! read more

This place is by far one of my worst experiences. It was all great in the beginning, I ordered beef a pad se ew. It had too much sauce and about barely noodles. It was mostly bean sprouts. We also ordered the dragon roll. It included crab meat, eel, cucumbers, and avocado. The crab meat was so disgusting. I had to spit it out of my mouth. It was mush. Let me tell you... Kroger Marketplace sells way better sushi than this place. Just let that sink in. I wanted to give this place a shot but please guys. It's not that worth it. We told our server, we was nice about it. My friend came along with us and he ordered a Philadelphia Roll and he saw that the salmon was still frozen. We all lost our appetite. read more

Love this place as the food is great and it's open so late. The bento box lunch specials are a steal. If you can make it before 3p, go check it out, you won't regret it. Food: Pad see ewe is my all time favorite dish and this place does it justice. The sauce has the right balance between sweet and salty. Make sure to get at least a level 3 or else it'll taste too kid friendly. The bento box comes with a soup, salad, edamame, and California rolls. Great deal for less than $8. Substations can be made. I always get two salads instead of edamame as the peanut dressing is bomb. I wish they sold it separately. Skip the dessert - got the fried ice cream and it was ok. Wasn't a fan of the outer part as it tasted artificial. Service: Ridiculously understaffed. Only reason why I knocked off 2 stars. I've been here on multiple occasions and have been let down every time. There's just not enough people for the amount of traffic they get during peak lunch and dinner times. Even when it's not very busy, I'll always have to hail down a staff member or be waiting forever. read more

I typically come here for dinner. They are open super late so it's a nice spot for us to go satisfy those late night cravings. The first time I came here, I came in a big group and we ordered a bunch of small plates from the hot tapas menu. Everything was pretty tastey. However, I did not like the lamb chops. They were way too gamey tasting for me. I've never had sushi here before so I can't comment on the sushi. I've heard it wasn't that great so I've stayed away from it. They are however, known for their Thai food. There's a separate Thai menu that serves authentic Thai food but you have to ask for this. I think its only in Thai too! I totally love their Yen Ta Fo (spicy seafood soup) which is what I typically order when I come here. It's such a comforting dish. I also love their Kao Tom (Thai Rice Soup). Both of these can be found on the Thai menu. What I recently discovered is their lunch menu! You can get a small lunch portion of their Thai entrees in a bento box which comes with soup, salad, eggroll and a california roll for anywhere from $5.95 - $9.95 depending on the type of meat(s) you choose. I think that's an awesome deal! They don't skimp on the portions either! My only complaint would be timeliness. I came for lunch and after ordering, I swear we waited a good 30 minutes for our food to come out from the kitchen. That's just way too long when business professionals allot an hour for their lunch break. It even took them forever and a day to run our checks. I must say the timing issue only occurred during lunch. When I came in for dinner, the wait for our food was not this bad! Maybe they don't have enough chefs in the kitchen? *shrugs* Just come when you can have a long lunch. My friend even asked for no tomatoes or onions and his food still came with it. The waitress told him she indicated no tomatoes or onions when submitting the order but yet the kitchen still put it in. I do agree with Jennifer T. their happy hour is awesome. Fair warning though - place gets PACKED! I don't blame people for wanting to come to get $2 sake, $4.50 sake bombs, $3 wine, $2 beers... not to mention hot tapas at around $3.50. read more

I'm going to need to come back to get a better "feel" of this place. When I came, this place feels more like a late-night dive than a real restaurant. This can be attributed to the barebones atmosphere that tries to be cheap-modern-chic, and to the teenage crowd that seems to hail from Plano. And yes, you have to ask for the Thai menu. Oddly, they don't include it when they give you the "regular" menu even though the Thai menu is obviously not a secret (it comes laminated in Thai, English, and even with pictures - seems pretty much an often-requested menu in that respect). So we ordered two things from the Thai menu, and a sushi roll from the regular menu. The sole regular-menu item, dynamite sushi roll, which was glopped in sauces and had crawfish (surprisingly), and was decent. Thai basil crispy pork over rice is in the avoid list - small pieces of deeply fried pork that makes for a tough chew makes it unappealing. The duck noodle soup was the star of the three courses we ordered - ample amount of tender dark could be found with the soup, alongside with egg noodles (you get to choose noodles, btw), and "blood tofu." Sounds strange, but I would definitely order this again. As for the ambience, and the crowd, perhaps the other Zenna locations in Dallas may be better. But as for food, they all should be the same (hopefully). read more
After having a terrible experience at the Zenna's in downtown Dallas, I was skeptical about trying out the one in Plano. I gave it a chance and ordered Pad Thai with tofu with a spice level of 4. Let me tell you, the portions are huge! So you can definitely take the leftovers home and save it for another meal. I was expecting a spicier Pad Thai but it turned out to be more sweet than spicy. It's always crowded at Zenna's so we waited at least 20 mins. The highlight of Zenna's for me was their Thai iced tea, it is amazing!!! read more

Came here past midnight because its one of the few places open late and actually serves food. I love Thai food and was looking forward to the food here but was disappointed. Over all the food is on the sweet side. Even when we asked for spicy - we picked spice level 5 (highest) - there was not even the slightest kick. Everything tasted almost one note with the sweetness that over powers the dishes. We did enjoy the chicken wings over all (could use a bit more salt and garlic), the seafood fried rice and panang curry. The crab rangoon dip was a fail - the "dip" was extremely watery and little to no crab in it - good idea but poor execution. Everything else was mediocre at best. Service was friendly and quick, so there's that. read more
