my daughter got her nails done here for homecoming. She got them done on a Thursday and one nail had already fell off. It is now Saturday and she has a total of 6 nails that came off!!!!! I've been here over 20 times. I've been pleased each time. The hot stone massage with the pedicure is heavenly. Every nail tech has been friendly and the results have been uniformly good. The staff is primarily Chinese. Sometimes the nail tech will translate what is going on out of the blue. It is a nice gesture. It's very clean. They use sanitized tool packs for each manicure or pedicure. They offer water and a dish of candies. The waiting area is small but the leather couches are comfy. They have 2 nice size mounted TVs with closed captioning on the one. One time I requested a particular program and they were more than happy to put it on. The price is right. The owners are courteous. You don't need an appt but I try to call ahead since it gets busy in there. Definitely not Zen. I spent a total of 8 minutes in the chair. She was so rushed and going so fast that she completely missed painting the sides of my nails. In addition, she filed INTO the side of my thumb nail, weakening that point, which resulted in my nail ripping off. My middle finger of my left hand had only 1 1/2 coats. Meaning with the second coat she only polished half of it. Unfortunately, the lighting in that place isn't the greatest and, unfortunately, I didn't notice all this until it was dried and I was out of there. Speaking of drying, their machines are SO WEAK that I spent 22 minutes in THAT chair just so they could dry. It would've been faster if I'd blown on it myself. The place seemed safe during this pandemic (hand sanitizers everywhere, social distancing, and clear plastic dividers between workers and customers). Finally! A great, clean, affordable nail salon in Media! I'm always a little hesitant to get my nails done around the Media area because I never walk away completely satisfied, either with my nails or the price. I got a pedicure here and I believe it was $23-25, a fair price for a pedicure, and it lasted for about 3 weeks. I wasn't expecting anything great but my pedicurist did a fantastic job! She carefully soaked, scrubbed, and massaged, but this place also uses a hot stone treatment on your feet, massaging your legs and feet with a hot stone. It's pure bliss. I haven't gotten a manicure there yet, but my mom loves them. They use a hot wax treatment on your hands before the polish to make your hands extra soft. I highly recommend this nail salon over the other salons in media. read more

It's been two weeks since I was treated to a gel manicure and spa pedicure at Zen, and all ten of my tips still look (shockingly) top-notch. The salon is new, bright and clean, and the women working there were extremely pleasant, as well as thorough in their treatments. The spa pedicure is a lengthy procedure, complete with multiple scrubs, a hot-stone massage and a wrap of your exfoliated legs and feet in hot towels. Polish was expertly applied to my toes, and while that dried I shuffled over the manicure table for my first UV-gel mani. The manicurist did an excellent job shaping my nails -- which are weak, and not very long -- into the square shape I asked for, as well as giving a moisturizing paraffin treatment. Polish color selection was good, and the manicure and pedicure both done perfectly. I can't believe how long both have lasted. I will surely return, and recommend without reservation to others. read more

Went here for a pedicure with my mother-in-law a week ago. Was unhappy with my pedicure when we walked out of there, even more unhappy with it now as the polish is already coming off. Trendy Nails is far superior. Pedicure is better and the polish lasts longer and the women who work there are very friendly. My pedicure from Trendy Nails lasted for 4 weeks. I got a gel manicure and the next day it was actually peeling off in the corners of the nails. All the nails got bubbles underneath and began peeling. I chose Zen based upon the great reviews I read, and it did not disappoint! It's been over 3 weeks and my nails are still shiny and perfect! Seems like a fine place to get a gel manicure but I do not recommend getting powder/ SnS. They used the electric filter so much that they basically removed an entire layer and then topped it with the UV gel clear coat. So now I can see through the color to my actual nails and it just doesn't look right. Also, they charge $5 to remove any SNS that you already have on. read more

The people who work here are really nice. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. The polish looked great and the parrafix wax treatment left my hands feeling super smooth. The pedicure was the best part, specifically the hot stones that they use to massage your feet/legs. My only complaint is that we made an appt. and had to wait over an hour to sit down. If you're going on a busier day (Friday-Sunday) I would reccommend giving yourself a few hours. That being said, having your legs, feet and hands massaged with hot stones, and a parrafin wax treatment doesn't seem like a bad way to kill 3 hours. I will definitiely be going back! read more

I've been getting gel manicures here monthly for over a year now and I am very happy with the service and quality. Zen has a friendly staff who treat their regular customers well and try to get you in and out as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality of service. There is very little turn around of staff, so it has been nice to get to know the girls. They do a great job and the price is very reasonable compared to other nail salons. Gel mani is $22 (french or American, $27) and pedi is $25. A nice added bonus is the paraffin wax at the end and the hand massage. I just wish that they offered chair massages, which is a nice add on when getting your nails done. My only complaint is the chairs they use; they are too large for the tables. Every time someone attempts to get behind you to their station, you get bumped. This is an easy fix though and does not impact the service. Otherwise, this place is great. read more
