Very cosy place, the food was good, and I would recommend to other. The only downfall would be the unprofessionalism from the waitstaff and bartender. Our server was good, but all the others were either on their phone, gossiping with customers, or sassing each other as well as customers. Our waitress was so very welcoming. She was attentive and made us feel welcomed. When we chose this spot, didn't realize it was at a golf course. We were in town visiting family. Got a few stares being the only people of color but our lovely waitress made up for that. Our food was delicious and was served pretty quick. I haven't written a negative review in a very long time, but if you have children - whatever you do, do not come here. The food was ok, service mediocre. FYI: the bartender was not helping the waiters at all. Mostly, the people that come here are a sub par below normal, stuck up and give you demeaning stern looks worthy of turning their whole chair from a baby's squeal. I apologized to the group. They all continued the faces. I've never felt so sad and angry at a group of human beings. Not worth coming here...no ambience to mention. read more

The food was good, including really excellent potatoes and Brussels sprouts (and I normally don't like the latter). Service was prompt and friendly, the interior is beautiful, and there is ample parking. They need an illuminated sign so you can find them in the dark, as this is a very rural setting. During daylight hours I hear it is scenic. Locally owned and operated, this is a nice addition to the community. Found this place by accident yesterday. Everything was amazing, drinks, service, and especially the food! Be wise of covid, they had a fixed 5 course menu for $35. They did offer to make us a sandwich or something off menu, since we were surprised at the prospect of so much food, which was nice. Since we knew we'd get at least two meals each out of it with leftovers we tried everything. Not a single dish was less than perfect, fresh seasonal ingredients and even homemade sauces that were to die for. I'm not sure what the other so so reviews were about, but our experience was way above expectations, and we'll be back again. read more

A band I wanted to see was playing at Zeke's, so I went to see them, and figured I'd have dinner and a beer or two while there. In other words... book a band, bring in customers who wouldn't normally have been there! It was pretty crowded, but I immediately found a seat. There appeared to be two waitresses working the area I was in, and a third helping them as needed. After about 20 minutes, although the waitresses had all been back and forth walking right past me, no one had asked me for an order. Waitress #1 did make eye contact and smiled, but walked past. After several passes by both, I started trying to get their attention. Raised my hand, looked at them... got a few more smiles as they hurried by, but no one spoke to me. At one point, Waitress #1 stopped to chat with another customer sitting a few feet from me. Then Waitress #2 joined them, and they all chatted for a few minutes. I figured surely I'd get one of them to pay attention as soon as they finished visiting. Waitress #2 turned, I raised my hand, she walked by 18 inches from me and never acknowledged me. A minute later, Waitress #1 turned, gave me a very friendly smile, and walked right past me. By this time, I'd been there 50 minutes, the band ended their first set, so I left, went home, made myself dinner and had a drink. 50 minutes free entertainment! Thanks, Zeke's! read more

Ordered food for takeout. When we arrived we were told by the hostess to go to the bar. We apparently were invisible to the bartender and three wait staff who could see us waiting but were busy entertaining each other. Bartender even turned and looked at us but didn't acknowledge us for another couple of minutes. Didn't even offer us a thank you after handing us the bill. Server was slow. Recently there for a party that was reserved ahead of time. When people arrived they acted like this was not the case. Took ten minutes to get first beer and way overpriced for the area. Oh well. There is another nice place not too far away. read more

Very disappointed...we were looking forward to having a nice meal, drinks, and listening to music but none of this happened. When we got there we waited 5 minutes before anyone came to seat us . We were told we could sit on the side where the music would be playing then 10 minutes later were asked to move because the entire section was reserved! We get sat on the front outside sitting area in the glaring sun...as only 3 tables have umbrellas then have to wait another 20 minutes for menus. We ordered some beers and martinis and the martinis were horrible! The food was meh and service slow but friendly. I would say the best thing about this place is the setting which is well maintained. If you're going to have food and drinks I would stick to beer and apps! read more

I wrote earlier complaining about the service and food, but decided to give it one more try. Today the service was perfect, and the nachos were excellent--large portion, very tasty. The atmosphere is always fine--lots of space and views over the 18th green of Crumpin Fox Club. I was glad I gave it another chance. read more

Went to dinner this past Friday and maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but we waited for TWO hours, yes TWO hours for our food. Also was told to get our own waters and watched 4 tables get served before us. When the food came out it was delicious but it was just a little insane. I can understand possibly waiting an hour at most but two was just ridiculous. Will try again again in the future because the food was great but hopefully faster service next time :/ read more

I like the setting of this place...great outdoor seating. Wish they'd get their act together with consistent food and service. We go there 3or 4 times during their open season for the last few years but one time the food is decent and the next is not good. Service always seems understaffed and overworked. I would like to start by saying our server was too notch! She was young but very attentive and extremely pleasant. I had reservations about the food but even the specials sounded amazing! Their wings/tenders were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavor. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with onion rings. The onion ring were awesome and the sand which was good. My husband lived his club sandwich and Friesland. We both had mixed drinks that were well made and not weak! We have found a local spot we will return to often! read more

I was starting to miss my favorite wing joint in AZ and thought I would take a look at the Zekes menu online. My first clue should have been that they do not print the menu prices online. I saw what seemed to be usual bar style food so thought I would take a chance on ordering hot wings and a burger cooked medium. The menu does state that there will be 1.5 additional up-charge to add onion rings to the burger. I phoned in an order for pick up on my way home and was told 20 minutes. When I arrived, the bartender brought me my order and told me the bill amount= 22.00!! 22.00 for wings and a burger sub ORings? Did I just order room service in downtown Chicago? The food was brought out in several containers because they were out of the usual large carry out boxes. I was offered no bag to carry my items across the parking lot to my car. I finally asked a waitress, "you don't have ANY bags in the kitchen at all?" and was given a paper bag with a handle. When I got home I realized that I must have ordered room service from downtown Chicago because that is how the food was presented. 20 minutes to cook and for me to pick it up? The food was ice cold and tasted like it had been over-nighted from Chicago and/or had been sitting out on a buffet and they just boxed it up. 8 wings in the order and the burger was med-rare and not medium. Had they left it on the gill a little longer it might have been hot when I got it home. Usually food that is hot and then transferred to a container will have "sweating" around the top and bottom where the items steam under the closed conditions. NOPE. After being in the food and beverage industry for over 30 years this food looked and tasked like they gave me an order that no one ever came to pick up from 3 hours ago. DO NOT go to Zekes and waste your hard earned money on bar food you can get for free at any happy hour in downtown Chicago. read more
