    The Cobb Zalad - Fried

This was my first time ever at a Zaxbys. I understood going in that it was a fast food type of establishment with a little of variety on their menu. This was the closest location which was still 30 minutes away. I personally liked that they offered salads (which I ordered and it was wonderful). The cheddar bites were also great. But why if it was so good did I only give 3 stars? Because it is fast food. Let's start with the person who just stands at the counter and stares at you. I am not sure if she was asleep standing up with her eyes open or waiting for some time of stimulation to respond. Was this an AI employee? I had put in my mobile order and after the time passed on the app that said my order would be ready I asked about it and was again given that blank stare. Someone did bring it out eventually. Handed me the bag with the drinks. Except one of the drinks was the peach tea. Which apparently they store behind the counter but don't tell you? So I had to go back up and ask for what I ordered. Ok. I sat down and noticed hmmm my cheese bites aren't in my bag. They did make them for me and they were fresh but it took the time to cook them. Where did the original order go? Finally I had everything and was able to sit down and eat. The sandwiches are better then a spicy kfc sandwich for sure. Salads were nice large portions and very good. But it is hampered by typical fast food problems. Mainly lack of quality control in an effort to get things out fast. If I had ordered drive thru and took it home, I would have been extremely unhappy and short food.

This chicken is awesome for fast food...almost as good as Raising Canes but is my go to tender spot in the Florida Spacecoast. Drive through goes at a nice pace, orders are always correct.

Zaxby's- Melbourne, FL- 4 Stars (Fast Food Edition) "If I'm not back in five minutes...just wait longer!"-- Jim Carrey Is it safe to come out of the house now? I'm not sure if it's still Covid season or if we have moved on to Riot season, but nonetheless, I have to get out of the damn house! I am not trying to make this a political post, just an observational one on where we have been as a country for the past year and a half or so. Returning from my Federally and Locally imposed exile, I was saddened to see all the boarded-up eateries and not just because I love to eat, but rather for the loss of personal dreams and accomplishments that each boarded up building represented. With that heavily on my mind, I thought the best place to get back on the mound would be a chain that survived the National Shut Down. Located on the corner of Jordan Blass Dr. and Wickham Rd. this Zaxby's is right across the street from the Pineda Landings Shopping Plaza in the Suntree area of Melbourne, Fl. While I found the dining area to be spotlessly clean albeit desolate, the ability my server Rachel demonstrated in carrying out her duties was severely impaired, and she might do better on the fryer than serving customers. After a few moments of excruciating frustration, I was finally able to get my order across and sat back to wait for my Chicken Strip Basket to arrive. With the employees masked and the immaculate condition of the dining area, it was clear to me they are taking their patrons health, as well as their employees seriously in this Pandemic Reality in which we find ourselves. It wasn't too long before Rachel returned with my offerings. As one can see by the pictures, the chicken was perfectly fried. It was an eye-catching golden brown on the outside and oh so tender and juicy on the inside. I must also add that their sauce is unfreakinreal good!! Seriously, it was all I could do not to grab a handful and make a run for it. The Big Boy, says, "If you're dying to get out and hankerin' for some amazing fried chicken, albeit fast food chicken, and tantalizing sauce, head on over to Zaxby's. You won't be disappointed."

Clean, COVID compliant, Friendly Staff and Open for business This location is off the East side of Wickham road just north of the Pineda Causeway. It is at an intersection so is easy to get to from any direction. There is parking around the building and, since it an out-parcel in a larger shopping center, there is plenty of parking available. It has a drive-through that frequently wraps around the building due to this location's popularity. Inside, all staff are wearing masks, there are dots on the floor and the tables are moved to allow maximum distance (except the booths). The staff was very friendly. The tables and floors looked clean. The food came out quickly (we had a salad) and was excellent. If you need to go out to eat, this would be a good choice. Enjoy

The sign up front of Zaxby's restaurant. The chicken logo isn't hard to miss at all!

I saw Zaxby's Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings (I will shorthand to just Zaxby's for the rest of this review) on the way home from another restaurant, Fiesta Azteca in Suntree. Maybe it was the chicken logo but I really wanted to eat there. I am so glad I did because this is one of the better fast food chicken restaurants I have eaten. I went to this restaurant after hanging out a bit at Brevard Zoo with my friend Patrick. We had to wait two and a half hours for the canoes so we drove out to eat lunch. First and foremost, Zaxby's is not hard to spot. It is on the Eastside of Wickham Rd. just north of Pineda Cswy and looks like a barn. If that doesn't stand out, the chicken logo will under the big letters spelling "Zaxby's." Interior-wise, the place seems brand new. Don't know how long they've been open but the place is really clean and the furniture is fairly new. We then ordered our food which is mostly chicken dishes (obviously). I ordered the spicy chicken tenders sandwhich, Patrick ordered the boneless spicy chicken tenders. We also got two sides: spicy breaded mushrooms and cheese bites (curds). Everything we ate was delicious. Even the crinkle fries (though said fries are not as good as Culver's). What stood out the most about Zaxby's was the price. A lot of the meals were averaging around $5 to $8. That is a deal when you take into account the quality of the food compared to other places. Ultimately, I would recommend this place to anyone. For the more healthy-orientated, they have salads known as "Zalads" which look good too. Would also make an excellent place to eat in case you don't want to spend the high prices at Brevard Zoo.

Even though the waiter disagreed with me that I said No Onions, No Tomatoes, No Lettice he ended up bringing 3 new tacos out after I was done eating. While it wasn't the best way to treat an upset customer at the time, he did try his best to make it right later. I ate one of the new tacos that had no onions. No life, too little decor and the smallest assortment of donuts. I have gone many times and they NEVER have fruity flavors that mochi is known for and advertised on their website. Maybe 4-6 different kinds that all are caramel or chocolate. The prices are just too high for what you get too. Fun textures but no focus on the Asian flavors that make these creations what they are suppose to be. The service was just atrocious. And I mean BAD!! We were the ONLY people in the lobby with one sole employee that wouldn't even turn around to acknowledge us. Clearly she was working on a large order, however, how long would we have had her backed turned to us unless we spoke up? I will never know. We finally and politely said "excuse me". You can have the best food in the world, but if you are treated with disrespect it becomes the worst food. With good service, a bad meal can be good. Be better Mochinut

It is so cool the Space Coast, specifically Viera and Melbourne, are getting restaurants that serve…read moremore niche foods. Pertaining to this realization, the latest in such is Mochinut Melbourne. Located just east of the Viera/Suntree exit of I-95, Mochinut Melbourne specializes in mochinuts, a hodgepodge impromptu mochi and donut. They also happen to serve boba teas and Korean hot dogs which they shorthand to K-dogs. The aforementioned should interest any foodie patrons on the Space Coast. It should also be noted that Mochinut Melbourne is technically a part of a chain with restaurants located in multiple areas in Central Florida. You'd think Mochinut Melbourne would gleam from their predecessors and this would be a smooth opening right? Wrong! And that seems to be their initial downfall at this moment. For starters, the wait time (when I was there with my friend Paula) was almost two hours. That is quite insane for a line the size I seen which is about ten people, many in groups of families or friends. How can the line be so slow? It is when you get inside you find out why the wait is ridiculously long. The flow of ordering and paying is so bad, no wonder people leave. As shown in my pic of the mochinut counter, there are two areas that seem like a place to order and a place to pay. You know where Paula and I ordered our food? The end of the line at the register? You serious? All this line length in front of the donut counter and they couldn't order-and-go from beginning to end? If they did such, they could get a start on boba teas and K-dogs and have them ready when patrons reach the end of the line where the register is. Just seems inefficient to order and pay at the end of the register with the layout they have. As for the rest of the ambiance, a lot of pink and two parts of the wall seem to have photo opportunities. There are some benches but they were fully occupied along with people standing around waiting for K-dogs to finish cooking and boba teas to finish making. In short: a lot of people were waiting around. Despite the unorganization, you'd think the mochinuts would be worth it, right? Well... yes and no. Firstly, all the mochinuts are technically plain mochinuts with a flavor decored upon them. For example, the blueberry mochinut is the plain mochinut with blueberry flavored icing and some form of blueberry fruit cuttings/pieces mixed into the icing. There are no mochinuts with the flavor baked into the mochinut or any with a flling inside such as Boston cream. Paula and I didn't even bother getting any boba teas or K-dogs because the wait was atrocious. Besides all the flaws, I must say the staff were very pleasant and a pleasure to talk to. It is not their fault they have to follow a procedure and protocol that constantly keeps them struggling to keep up with orders. I really hope the manager steps in and fixes the flow because I am sure they can adjust some things here and there to make the flow of work smoother for the workers as well as patrons ordering food. Ultimately, I am going to have to give Mochinut Melbourne an initial rating of two stars out of five. Since Mochinut Melbourne is technically part of a chain, I would expect more from them. I will return when they settle in more as well as try their K-dogs and boba teas. If they do better in a settled-down state, I will reconsider my initial rating.
