They have so much more to choose from, including croissants, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, cupcakes, cakes, and coffee. There is truly something for everyone. We love this donut shop and visit every 3 months when in area with family, so why the average score .... Simply less than even basic service !! We visited last weekend for a dozen donuts. They up charge for everything already. We ask that 1/2 be placed in separate box as gift for friends. Young man is so confused .. why ?? So we get thru why and he gets each box filled with six donuts (no extra, the common bakers dozen). Ok price of extra box , not like you make it up with every donut up charge. Then he rings up two 1/2 dozens to upcharge more. We ordered a dozen and even a small box charge would have been more appropriate. It's not worth any battle to deal with lack of common sense ... this is today's youth and lack of any management and supervision. Oops a credit card fee too. 33.66 for two half dozen donuts and they require the friendly tip screen during checkout too. Sorry but you didn't deserve that ! I've been a regular at Love Bugs for about 4 years now! They have an amazing menu selection - ranging from classic donuts, breakfast pastries, up to a full menu of sandwiches and other common breakfast items. They also have a self-serve coffee bar, which allows you to customize your coffee how you'd like! I always call ahead, and the food is always ready when I go to pick it up. They are usually open until sold out, which of course is sometimes a double-edged sword if you're like me (sometimes) and don't pick up breakfast until 11 AM/12 PM, lol! You can tell the owner, Ryan, cares about what he does. He has even partnered with the business that I work for! There was one time they were slammed, and had accidentally misplaced my order. We've both worked in food service, and we weren't really upset, we know it happens! Ryan was so apologetic and not only got us our order (hot & fresh!), but he also gave us a gift card for our next visit! Their customer service has always been great! They've gotten new bakery cases, have a small area for kids while you're eating, and overall they feel like a classic small-town bakery! Overall nice place. Clean and has a very local feeling. Their menu is little confusing just because thay can make pretty much anything but it's not displayed. We had Asiago Bagels with egg and cheese. We had to remove the cheese from the top of the bagel because it was burned and bitter but besides that it was solid breakfast. Their double chocolate muffin is still incredible. Overall solid place, no espresso or any espresso based coffee, which was a slight disappointment. However we will probably go back and choose a different bagel. P.S. My ratings are based on whether I believe I could make a better or healthier version at home. If food/drinks/service impress me, I'll be happy to come back. If not the stars reflect that. read more

I have been love bugs at least 6 times, and thought they made excellent doughnuts. But this time I have to say they were the worst, sorry excuse for sugar bread I have ever tasted. Cute little spot with way more options than I expected. I was super impressed with the donut selection, so many fun and unique flavors and the ones we tried were delicious. I also loved the sesame bagel with chive cream cheese. The hot breakfast items were decent, nothing amazing, but I appreciated having a "keto wrap" option for a low carb choice. I'm torn about love bug bakery. Online and on their store page it does show that they are open until 1 PM. That is technically true. However, I would qualify them as being closed well before 10:45 AM. I arrived with the coupons I received in the mail to try them out, having never tried them out before, and saw that every single one of their donuts was gone. So even if I wanted to try at that point, it wasn't going to happen and I didn't have a choice. So being a business that pride yourself on donuts and being sold out more than two hours before you close to me is unacceptable. However, this may speak volumes for how good these donuts would be if I was able to try them. So I decided to use the other coupon I had to assist in me getting a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich I wanted came on a cronut, but they were also out of that so I was unable to get it on that. So ordering two different sandwiches I went ahead and let them know that I was good to go. When I presented her with the coupon that allowed me to get that breakfast sandwich half off with an order of hashbrowns, the one individual that took that order seemed to almost roll her eyes at that coupon. Not a great first impression for someone that's trying out your place for the first time due to these coupons. I then ended up browsing some of their muffins while I was waiting and getting a banana nut muffin because they were out of the one muffin I did want, which was the French toast muffin as you can see from the photo. So with my best guess if you are looking to come here, I would definitely recommend coming before 10 AM. The saving grace was the one team member that when realizing they forgot to put my hashbrowns in the bag, ran it out to me to my car to get my attention. The two sandwiches we got were OK. Nothing fantastic, and I can tell definitely not what they are known for. So far, I am far from impressed. The ambience and vibe but the inside is acute diner vibe. Actually, I would go as far as to say it's more of a café. Seems like a nice place to enjoy breakfast if you're going to sit in. I hope to be back to actually be able to try the donuts, but they are known for, but the hassle of this in the experience encourages me not to. I will update this review once I'm actually able to try their donuts. P.S. - while I was waiting for mine I saw at least two parties come in to look and possibly order, only to see that every single thing has been sold out, and then proceeded to leave. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I stopped by around 11 a.m., and the first thing I noticed was that the bakery cases were nearly empty. The sparse selection should've been my cue to come back another time, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. There was a small platter with a few doughnuts, so I ordered an Americano--or so I thought. I was given regular drip coffee instead. No big deal, mistakes happen. Still hungry, I ordered a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Unfortunately, the "bagel" was nothing like a true bagel--it was fluffy and soft inside, more like French bread. Not terrible, just not what you'd expect or want if you're craving a classic bagel sandwich. I also picked up a variety of pastries to go. The next morning, I tried the pistachio muffin, and it had white streaks like the batter hadn't been mixed properly--and oddly, it had pecans in it. Pecans? In a pistachio muffin? It was just confusing. At that point, I took a small bite of everything I had brought home, and sadly, none of it stood out in a good way. On 10/05/2024, Love Bugs Bakery added a tip onto my bill without my permission. When it came time to pay, the cashier told me how much it was and said "put in your card." I inserted the card in the chip reader, and it automatically paid the bill. I touched nothing on the machine or on the touch screen because there were no options for me to select. I only had to pay. When I got home, I saw that I'd been charged $2.96 for a tip I never authorized. When I contacted the owner about what happened, he tried to gaslight me by saying I had "accidentally" selected a tip. That's impossible because the screen showed nothing for me to approve. I only had to insert my card. The owners never apologized or accepted any responsibility. If I hadn't asked for my receipt at checkout, I never would have noticed. The owner then tried to say they can't add a tip at the cash register. That's patently false for point-of-sale systems that calculate tip percentages. (Just try ordering over the phone, and then ask the worker to add a tip. I guarantee they can.) Again, the owner tried to gaslight me by saying I did it on my side. My husband was there and witnessed the entire transaction. I've attached a copy of my receipt. This wasn't about the $2.96. It always was about the integrity of Love Bugs. Had they apologized and said they'd look into it, then I would have dropped the issue. However, by trying to gaslight me, the owner made me wonder if this has been happening to others. The store doesn't automatically give receipts when you buy something. If the customers don't ask for their receipts, they might never know if they're paying unauthorized tips. Love Bugs should be ashamed. read more

We went recently in the afternoon. The service was horrible, no one greeted us. The woman at the counter (after we finally got her attention) was not happy to be at work. We had never been there before so we had questions and basically the answer was that we were too late for any donuts. Now this is a donut place! So many unique donuts, I had to pick wisely, it being my first time here. The staff was super friendly and helped us make our choices, telling us some of their signature and popular donuts. The vanilla dip and cream filled were my favorites. The cronut and apple fritter were also tasty. We also ate breakfast here, and there were lots of tables to properly social distance during this pandemic. For breakfast, we ordered a bacon and egg breakfast poppy seed bagel, which needed more egg on it to be more satisfying. The poppy seed bagel was super tasty, especially the one we got with cream cheese on it. Coffee wasn't anything special. Wow! Best donuts of my life. I will be returning. Banana foster donut (specialty donut) was my favorite. Thick and light. Covered in glaze and walnuts. The banana essence was perfect. Not over whelming. They got the glaze just RIGHT! The chocolate cake donut had a thick icing on top with a ton of toasted coconut! Delicious! This is a delicious local spot for donuts and such. Their cronuts are my favorite and huge! Their jelly and cream/custard filled are also super tasty. The donuts here are delicious and the options are amazing. Unfortunately, the pricing is a bit sneaky. They have the price per dozen and then depending on which donuts you choose- you get up charged per donut. It can get extremely pricey for a dozen donuts. Also, the ones that are included in the regular dozen donut price are very small considering a dozen of them will run you about $14. We've also been very disappointed with the lack of filling. My recommendations for the owners if they ever check this- have a "regular" dozen donut price and then a "upgraded" dozen donut price so people aren't shocked when they go to pay. And please start using more filling if you're charging over $2 for a fancy donut. read more

Do not get a specialty cake from here! I ordered a space theme birthday cake for my daughter's birthday. It was absolutely terrible. I sent them pictures of what she wanted, it looked nothing like what we were expecting. Not only did it look terrible, it tasted just as awful. The cake itself was tough and rubbery. All together it looked and tasted like something a child would make. When I called to say something about it all I got was push back. I will never be going here again. Key lime donut must have come in contact with garlic because that's what it tasted like. Blueberry cake donut that had very little flavor and super dry. Turtle donut so big that I could barely hold it but the amount of cream was the size of a quarter. The Apple filled donut was good but filling to dough ratio is way off. The service was very good at the Love Bug's Donuts and Bakery. The donuts were fresh tasting and their was plenty to choose from. The Boston Cream was a huge hit along with the cronut. The fritter is very popular but it fell flat for me. I enjoyed the crispy outside but It was very dry in the center. The plain chocolate and vanilla donuts were exceptional.
