My wife grew up on Zantigo and even worked there as a teenager, so we always stop in when we are in the Twin Cities. As such, I had a rather large order; ground beef taco salad, Chicken Grande burrito, 5 bean & cheese burritos, and 10 chilitos. Friendly service and relatively quick on getting the order out (only customer in the store). The only downside was the taco salad not having any meat on it. I couldn't very well go back since it was a 30-minute drive to get the food (KOA in Jordan). It was still a good taco salad, but I bet it would have been even better with meat. Instead of bashing them over that, I'll cut them a little slack. The rest of the order was great. Accidents happen. This isn't some fancy place but definitely a step up from Tacobell (and if you know me, you know Tbell's creamy jalapeño sauce runs through my veins.). Always been a fan of the Zapata, Zantigo, and other Mex Food establishments that I'm told the same people have started. Most sold out to the likes of Taco Bell. Now Zantigo is back to stay I hope. Zantigo prepared food onsite, not in a central location. This results in food that is better. Service is usually good at most locations, this is a good location. The order was delivered was 2 items missing. The restaurant is blaming DoorDash, but I explained that this is part the restaurants fault and part DoorDash's fault. Even though this was my first time at this location, I really love Zantigos. I mean wherelse can you get a chilito, if you a craving for it. Even though they don't have a drive-thru, it seems that for orders at the counter it seemed to be pretty busy. My husband was on his way home and decided to pick up food we wanted something different so I told him to go to Zantigos which is a new chain to us being from California . We had been to the one in Saint Paul which was always excellent for what it is and way better than Taco Bell . That was our mistake thinking this location was anything like the one in Saint Paul He got there 20 minutes before they closed not 5 minutes or in the last few minutes but 20 which in fast food on a Saturday night is not inconsiderate . He could tell they were not happy to see him and they promptly told him the fryers were off and he could tell they were mad he was there He ordered our food got home and it was inedible everything was ice cold the fryers were not the only thing off obviously The rice was cold the meat was ice cold and had congealed fat from sitting ....the tortilla my chilito was in was stale I will not be returning to this location ever again it's a night and day difference between here and the Saint Paul location and if this had been my first experience with Zantigos I would never have eaten it again read more

"Meh" pretty much sums it up..it reminded me of a cross between taco johns and taco bell. I had a chicken quesadilla and my friend has tacos and we split the "fries" which are basically a not as good version of potato oles.. Maybe it has to do with the fact that I've been just pining for some taco johns lately, but this place just didn't impress me. The quesadilla was ok..the ends of the tortilla were really dry though so I didn't eat the whole thing..it was also a little sparse on the filling for my taste. The salsa was sub par. This is my favorite fast food mexican restaurant in the twin cities outside of the taco house in St. Paul. This is a a weekend ritual to go grab a burrito and a few tacos. I personally get sick of the way to huge buritos at new places or the completely fake food at Taco Bell. Zantigo is a nice place to go for Americanized Mexican food that is tasty and still has a little authenticity. The staff is always nice, the place is always clean and the service is always decent. I come here for Tacos very infrequently and every time I leave I feel like I need to come back again soon. The food is better than TB or other mexican fast food. The portions are larger than TB of Taco John's yet not as big as Chipotle or Qdoba. In my opinion is just right. I really do love this place. 1. Food is consistent and fresher tasting compared to Taco Bell. Chicken soft tacos are my favorite here! Actually, chicken anything here is great. Definitely try their chilitos. 2. Service is great. It can get a little slow at peak times, but they've never screwed up my order and they're always pleasant. 3. Clean, welcoming atmosphere. What is there to say? I grew up loving the "chilito" in Chicago (where there were no Zantigos) from T. Bell. As time progressed, the chilito turned into the "chili-cheese burrito" and has slowly suffered into almost a fast food after thought. Then I was introduced to Zantigos. The origin of the real Chilito and all was right in the world. Green or red, I don't care I will eat them all. Actually, I am tempted to ask them to just pour 3 chilitos worth of goodness into one tortilla and save me the trouble. Who ever though Norwegians could make such excellent fake-tex-mex? Taco Bell, but a sit-down place. Actually a quite decent menu to choose from and a wide range of sides, but really, I guess it was kind of a jack-ed up Taco Bell. Granted you get more food for your money, and it's much better quality, and better service and well, all around just a better place. There wasn't really anything that made this place stand out. I've worked in Bloomington for 10 years (as well as went to high school for 3 years there) and I have never heard of this place until someone told me about it. Would I go back? I have had better Mexican food at 2am in Chicago from a hole in the wall joint. My boyfriend is from here but I'm not, I'm from Naperville, IL and loves this place a lot but unfortunately he kinda lacks taste in food sometimes. He made me eat here even though my first thought was the menu looked limited and had nothing unique. First of all I got the wrong food, they gave me 3 soft tacos instead of crunchy. I ended up eating someone else's food because I hate soft flour tacos. Corn if soft is what I prefer. Food is bland and tastes so cheap. I would never eat here again and if my bf wants to I'll choose to go elsewhere. I wasn't one of the people that grew up with this establishment so I come from a non-nostalgic point of view. It was decent, but not special. The service was friendly and extremely fast. The restaurant was very clean, and the decor was quaint. Now for the food, it was hit and miss. I had the chicken enchilada platter, and it was below expectations. The sauce was spicy (which I like) bit didn't have a very appealing flavor profile. The corn tortillas seemed stale and were difficult to cut through with a knife. The rice was not good at all. It is chipotle lime like chipotle, except the rice was a bit hard and had an off flavor to it. I also added a hot chilito, as that is what everyone raves about it, and I found their applause to be deserved. It was excellent, with a very good soft flour tortilla and an excellent taste. Too bad it was skimpy....either way when I go back (if that tells you anything) I will just load up on these. My wife had the steak burrito combo and a side of refried beans. She said the beans were not good at all, and other than the first bite they went unconsumed. The burrito was somewhat bland, but pretty darn good! She said she would definitely go back and order the same thing, but this time without the side of beans. Overall its a decent place, and it doesn't mean to compete with actual Mexican restaurants which is good, because it doesn't.
