Bought a plated ring, and less than one month later, it was completely tarnished and had turned silver. When I went back they re-dipped it for me and not even one week later the color is gone again. They told me it should be redipped every 6 months- yet it has lost its color within a weeks time. I don't wash my hands or the dishes with my ring, I'm very careful with it and the color has tarnished completely, very easily. Super upsetting. read more

I've been here a couple times within the past year. Both times, the employees were extremely helpful and patient. Even though I was very unsure and indecisive about what I wanted, the employees were very kind and understanding. When I came during a slow time, they greeted me and helped me with what I was looking for immediately. It can be a bit hard when there are customers outnumbering employees, so I can understand why some reviewers felt like they were being ignored. However, after waiting around for the next employee to become available, I was kindly and politely assisted. Thank you Zales' employees for demonstrating what customer service SHOULD be (but sadly oftentimes is not reality. I have several peices of jewelry from Zales. I get the ones with diamonds, checked every six months so I can keep my diamond bond up to date, this is how my diamonds get covered incase any fall out. I just keep a copy of the diamond bond in my car for easy peasy diamond bond check!!! Great customer service. read more

It is really starting to be a pain to come here. My husband bought this beautiful ring and band from Zales when we got engaged. Now that I have been coming to get it cleaned and checked every 6 months as required, each time there has been an issue. Every single time I've come so far they are unable to find something. They either can't find the original purchase, can't find the number or name it was purchased under it's always something. So my last visit I was informed I shouldn't have an issue anymore. Now today I go in and again they can't find any of the original bond and paper work. How is this still happening? Their system sucks! This is now the 3rd time this has happened so I figured it's now time to write a review about it. I am supposed to go back for a cleaning in September. Racist staff. Came here & witnessed the staff completely ignore an African American man with dreads. While everyone else was greeted & informed of a waitlist, they acted as if this man was invisible. I had to walk over & let him know about the waitlist. He had already been standing there for about 15mins. I told one of the women working that I noticed he was completely ignored & she said they were "involved with their guests" & seemed completely unapologetic. This was a lame ass excuse because anytime other people walked in the door they were greeted & told to put their names on the waitlist. Both of these employees walked past this man several times & he obviously needed their assistance & they continued to walk away as if he wasn't even there. Absolutely disgusting treatment. Amazing staff!!! The ladies are knowledgeable and every time I've stopped by, I've left with a new piece. It gets crazy busy, specially when when holidays come up, but I've never been rushed and they take their time to show me and teach about diamonds. They have a waitlist right at the front of the entrance and it may take a while if there's people already waiting there. I don't mind waiting I love that they don't push you to buy or try to upsell, they show me exactly what I've been looking for or similar things. I've been there when people get frustrated for not going fast enough or waiting for a long time, but that's what happens when it's holidays and they only have 3 people working. The quality of the jewelry items bought here is POOR, and on top of that the repairs services here have been horrible. I've had to repeatedly send my items back multiple different times. If you're going to be paying good money for your jewelry, take your money elsewhere. The sales reps like to ignore customers too. My husband lost his wedding ring at work so I went to buy a new one, the size was wrong so I went to exchange it (mind you I just had given birth) went in and it was busy and everyone was rude plus my infant started crying so I had to leave after waiting 15 mins for someone to help me. When I came back a week later they told me I could no longer return the ring as it was past the 30 day policy. So I bought another ring that was actually a tad more costly. Then I left the country for work came back and had to return it as it also didn't fit my husband. I was one day after the 30 day return policy and again they told me I couldn't return it. they also told me they don't give store credit or exchanges for lesser value I will NEVER shop with Zales again. So this store really deserves 4 stars but unfortunately I had to take two off because of the Jeweller that they brought in. Let me tell you more. I brought my diamond ring the day they had the jeweler so I could inquire about getting an upgrade on the center stone. The jeweler told me that my ring was fake and that any heat used to change the stone would cause the metal to peel off. He also used a questionable machine that identifies diamonds vs other stones such as cubic zirconia and white sapphire to tell me that my diamonds were fake. The reason I say it was questionable is that it kept giving different answers for the same stones and I could see what it was saying. Then he had a zales employee use another one of those machines and this lady turned it so I couldn't see what it read. She claimed their were fake too. The jeweler tried to sell me another diamond set but I declined. I went to, not one, but several other jewelers who told me that my diamonds were real. Many of these jewelers looked with their eye pieces and others used the same type of machine that they had at zales. I even had the center stones changed, and guess what...the metal didn't peel off. I was appalled at how blatantly the jeweler and the lady at zales outright lies to me. I went to tell the manager of the store a week or so later. He said he couldn't really do anything about it because the jeweler was from an outside company. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It was such an awful experience. They made me feel like a fool. It's truly a shame. Let me tell you why I still give three stars. If it wasn't for the poor choice in unethical lying people I encountered above, I would've given them 5 stars. The other employees have always been welcoming, kind, and helpful. As probably everyone knows, zales jewelry is beautiful and of high quality. Having the outlet available in Vacaville is awesome. My fiancé and I went to Zales Outlet today to look for an engagement ring and wedding band for me since we are getting married soon. Originally we were just going to buy an engagement ring and use a couple of rings we already had for bands until I got back from my deployment. That way, we would have a lot more money to spend on something we really loved versus something temporary. We met Marilyn and my fiancé and I explained we were on a budget and how we did not want to spend more than $300 on an engagement ring. Well, she showed us a few that were within the budget and surprisingly, my fiancé said she wanted something a little bigger. (I was not expecting my boo to say that at all.) So Marilyn showed us a couple more and finally we picked out two that we liked and I ultimately told my fiancé to pick the one since it is coming from her. The band that goes with it is absolutely stunning too! Marilyn did a great job at showing us what was available in our budget and was just the sweetest lady. We even found my fiancé a wedding band that goes well with my set too! I have never been a fan of Zales, Kays, etc. I always loved Tiffany's and James Allen, honestly. But after Marilyn helped us with our rings and even congratulating us and giving us hugs, I would go back there as long as she is working there. She definitely deserves a raise because she did not try to pressure us on something more expensive or even guilt trip us into paying more for a ring...which unfortunately has happened to a couple of my friends over the years. Instead, we paid thousands of dollars less on rings that look beautiful and now can have an even nicer ceremony later on. Originally, the sapphire/diamond ring I wanted was about $4000. The matching band was $2400...and then we would have had to get her a ring. We literally saved about $5400! I had a great experience. Lindsay was phenomenal! Lindsay is no longer at the location, but everyone who helped us afterwards was polite and welcoming. My great grandmother's ring was sent off to put the diamond in a new setting. I was a little nervous about that portion. If anything happened, I couldn't replace it on a sentimental level. They really eased my mind with their process. They show you unique items in your diamond and take pictures. You receive receipts, pictures, and emails. You can track the progress of your piece. My ring was completed on the date promised. It was less than the estimate. I could not have asked for a better experience! We purchased my fiancé's band at this location. We plan to get my wedding band at this location. No one was pushy with us. They really didn't even know our budget at first and they were polite and assisted us regardless. I bought a citizen echo watch from here and had it sized and wore it home. Two days later the watch fell off my wrist due to the pin falling out. I went back to the store and the man who had sized it when I bought it said he didn't have any pins to fix it I offered to have him remove a pin from my old citizen which he did and said it would never happen again. Well it did my watch fell off at the gym. I went back again and was told I would have to pay $50 and the watch would have to be sent out and it would be 5 weeks to repair. I have bought several items from this store but somehow this watch didn't get on my account and I can't find my receipt but why should I pay $50 for their inability to stand by their product. The woman who helped me was inept and had no customer service skills whatsoever, she initially told me that the pin the man put in was too short that's the reason the watch kept falling apart. Zales does not stand by its product. Zales staff are untrained on standard customer service methods. They caused this problem so why should I pay for it to be corrected. I have a Zales CC, we have been a Zales customer for over 12 years. Our 1st set was beautiful but when the gem could not be replaced, they offered a credit towards an upgrade. Which we took happily and got a whole new beautiful rose gold set for me and my husband for our 10 year anniversary. Now here is where THIS store differs. Yes, I may have walked in looking like a mom mess, stroller, hair up and yoga pants... guess that meant I was a waste of time? We walk all the way around twice and was still ignored and they were not busy. When finally approached, the young sales lady was looking through paper as if I was a bother. I asked where the rose gold section is (in the other Zales, they are generally placed together with a few pieces in other sections.) She says all over, waving her hand everywhere.... and that was it. I then explained, I am looking for something to match my set....and she shows me wedding sets(????) Key word : MATCH!! Needless to say, we walked out empty handed and may just take up others advice sadly and shop elsewhere. Customer service is key. Went in to buy a nice watch for my baby for his birthday last month. Ok to decent experience then. Service was good and I felt like I got a good deal. Went back a few weeks later to get the watch re-sized and a new battery (dead already?). Also, this time I took my boo with me as we were interested in looking at wedding rings for our upcoming nuptials. Almost an hour later, we determined 2 things: 1. Their jewelry is decent, but DO NOT GET THEIR CREDIT CARD. Their credit card is designed to screw you if you dont pay it off early enough. The store associates told us our payments were due on a certain day, so we came in early every month to pay it, only to find out on our very last payment that our due date was 2 days earlier, but the promotion (0 interest for 12 months) end date was a whole 12 DAYS earlier! and now they added on ALL OF THE INTEREST. It's not like they do the sensible thing and only charge interest on what you owe, but they charge the whole thing. When we called the company to figure out how this could have happened, they basically said "tough luck". So to summarize, they screw you over with the dates. They will tell you it's due AFTER the due date, your promotion ends before your due dates, then you will be stuck with ALL of the accrued interest and blown off by the customer service. read more

As far as the store itself the staff is very pleasant to work with, I'm very picky and can notice a lot of details. I came in got a men's wedding band with diamonds and a woman's engagement ring as well as wedding band. The men's wedding ring had deep scratches in it so he ordered me a new one, the new one came in sized already which was weird and it was more messed up then the original so now the manager is ordering a new one once again. Zales jewelers suck and the quality of their work but as far as the staff they are doing the best they can with what they get. read more

Awful customer service. My boyfriend and I were blown away with the lack of attention and awful customer service we received at the Zales Outlet in Vacaville, California on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 7pm. We walked in and were told to look around and that someone would be with us. We looked at the engagement rings, and found a few we were interested in seeing. We're getting married soon, and we were ready to make a purchase. We stood there for 20 minutes, and no one said a word to us. One girl was sitting in the middle of the store on a computer actively trying not to look our way. Another girl was sitting in the corner of the store on a computer with her head propped up by her elbow. And the one salesperson that greeted us at the door was helping a couple mull over a $100 watch purchase. We walked out at 7:20pm, with no one in the store even so much as looking our way for 20 minutes, when they had 3 salespeople on the floor. BTW... we are not a couple of teenage kids looking to waste someone's time. We are 30-something's with steady careers, well dressed and educated. Guess we thought this company would respect any customers that walked through their doors with respect, but that couldn't have been farther from the truth. My husband took his watch to Zales in November for a simple change of battery. Clerk broke the stem. Outlet store sent it to Zales repair. We have still not received the watch. I would NEVER recommend Zales Repair dept. Communicating with them under their "new system" is next to impossible and outlet store says the customer is now responsible for communicating. read more

It totally depends on who you talk to... I've been in there a couple times just to look around, and they were wonderful! Typical selection, and they have a lot of sales. But, for the two women I worked with, the claws came out when my checkbook did. Suddenly the sale wasn't valid, even though I had called to confirm the day before. Had to fight with them a lot. Ever since then the two women, there's one with dark brown hair that is medium length, and she's probably in her 40's, are very rude. Then again, there are a couple other people that work there that are always kind and helpful. So it totally depends on who you talk to. But I'm happy with my purchase, and love the insurance plan, especially for a wedding ring. I get it cleaned every 6 months, and I can send it in for deep cleansing for free. So far no stones have come loose or anything, so really the insurance hasn't "proven" itself yet, but so far so good. Only problem is this is an outlet store! It's different from the regular! So there are problems when I go to get my ring checked at another store because they are looking for a gold number or something which I don't have. It's very weird, and I wish it wasn't that way. My one experience with this store was wonderful. I came in to return an online purchase because it was the wrong size. I ended up exchanging it for a ring they had in stock from the same Cherished Promise Collection. The ring I exchanged was the same price (after a 40% store discount) and looks much more expensive than the ring I bought online.
